DE LA TESIS:El DAG es esencial para formar los intermediarios de transporte que se dirigen a la membrana plasmática. Sin embargo, no existen evidencias de su posible participación en las etapas tempranas de la vía secretora. Por tanto, nos centramos en averiguar la implicación del DAG en el transporte de proteínas en la zona del ER/Golgi. Para ello, utilizamos una variedad de fármacos conocidos que inhiben las enzimas responsables de la producción del DAG. Nuestros datos indican que el DAG está implicado en la formación de vesículas COPI en el compartimento temprano del Golgi, concretamente en el proceso de fisión, a través del reclutamiento de ArfGAP1. Posteriormente, estudiamos si la LPP3 (PAP2b) era una de las enzimas responsables de controlar los niveles necesarios de DAG en el cis-Golgi para la formación de las vesículas COPI y la regulación del transporte retrógrado. Para determinar el papel de la LPP3 en la regulación de los niveles de DAG y en la organización y transporte asociado a este compartimento seguimos dos estrategias experimentales: ARN de interferencia para disminuir la expresión de la LPP3 y vectores de expresión para aumentarla. Los resultados sugieren que la LPP3 regula la producción de DAG en las membranas de Golgi y, además, que participa en la organización estructural y funcional del complejo de Golgi, al menos en el transporte retrógrado.Paralelamente, estudiamos si la PKC epsilon era un efector del DAG en el Golgi implicado en la formación de las vesículas COPI. El DAG actúa como un segundo mensajero modulando la localización y la actividad enzimática de ciertas proteínas citoplasmáticas en el Golgi. Estas proteínas tienen un dominio de unión a DAG (dominio C1) que le permite su interacción directa con este lípido y así regular diferentes procesos asociados al Golgi. La PKD se recluta al TGN a través de su unión con el DAG y resulta esencial para la formación de intermediarios de transporte en el TGN. Teniendo en cuenta que la PKC epsilon interacciona con el coatómero, pensamos que podría ser un buen candidato para regular el transporte ER/Golgi de forma similar a la que PKD realiza en el TGN. Nuestros resultados muestran que la PKC epsilon se recluta en el Golgi de manera dependiente de DAG, pero no parece participar en el transporte retrógrado en la zona endoplasmático /complejo de Golgi.

Inom det svenska skolväsendet finns det en rad bestämmelser som den enskilda skolan skall ha som underlag för den undervisning som skolan erbjuder sina elever. Dessa bestämmelser återfinns i den dagsaktuella läroplanen för obligatoriska skolan, Lpo 94. Varje enskild skola avgör själv vilket material/läromedel som skall användas i undervisningen, då det finns ett stort utbud av läromedel att välja mellan. Det valda läromedlet kan vara av stor betydelse i undervisningen. Det är därför viktigt att det är det mest lämpliga läromedlet som tas i bruk för att uppfylla de krav som ställs på undervisningen.

I denna uppsats har vi undersökt möjligheten till övervinster i samband med utdelningar för svenska företag på OMX Stockholm Large Cap och Small Cap mellan åren 2006 och 2010. Genom en statistisk jämförelse mellan aktiekursens förändring i samband med utdelningen undersöker vi marknadens effektivitet. Resultaten tyder på att Large Cap är en effektiv marknad i samband med utdelningar, medan Small Cap visar tecken på ineffektivitet. Resultaten stödjer delvis tidigare studier, som säger att marknaden är effektiv. Vår studie skiljer oss från tidigare forskning eftersom vi undersöker Large Cap och Small Cap som separata marknader istället för hela börsen. Vi undersöker dessutom huruvida utdelningens storlek haft betydelse för marknads­effektiviteten. Resultaten pekar mot att marknaden är mer effektiv vid högre utdelning, men störningar utanför modellen kan ha skapat dessa resultat.

<p>Syftet med denna uppsats är att studera hur generalsekreterarens roll i FN har utvecklats i situationer som hotar fred och säkerhet. Uppsatsen jämför hur förutsättningarna har utvecklats från då Dag Hammarskjöld hade posten fram till idag, med Kofi Annan som generalsekreterare. Uppsatsen bygger på den hermeneutiska metoden där texttolkning ligger till grund för analysen. </p><p>De stora prövningarna för de båda generalsekreterarna har varit konflikten i Kongo respektive konflikten i Irak. Generalsekreterarens intressen påverkar vilka delar av arbetet som denne kommer att prioritera. Både Dag Hammarskjöld och Kofi Annan har sett de fredsbevarande operationerna som ett viktigt ämnesområde och har arbetat för att utveckla dessa. Ett antal faktorer som påverkar generalsekreterarens förutsättningar till agerande tas upp i uppsatsen. Det internationella systemet är den faktor som mest har påverkat möjligheterna att agera. För Dag Hammarskjöld var det en balansgång att kunna agera under kalla kriget. Generalsekreteraren skulle arbeta på ett neutralt sätt utan att stöta sig med någon av stormakterna. För Kofi Annan har det varit viktigt att ha ett bra samarbete med den ensamma stormakten i dagens internationella system, USA. Det finns likheter mellan de båda generalsekreterarna men som nämnts ovan skiljer sig deras förutsättningar till agerande åt på flera punkter. Det är det internationella systemet som mest påverkat deras förutsättningar till agerande och det är även denna faktor som skiljer sig mest mellan de båda generalsekreterarna.</p>

The purpose of this study is to examine four Swedish newspapers' views on the Nazi regime in Germany during the 1930's, and examine what information the Swedish public received through their reporting about the Berlin Olympics in 1936. The survey method of the study examines four Swedish newspapers with different political views, and how they described the Olympic Games in Berlin, Germany in 1936 during the Nazi Germany regime.   The theoretical perspective used in the study is the agenda setting theory, where the focus is on how the Olympic Games were depicted in the Swedish press against the agenda setting theory.   The results show the difference in reporting about the Berlin Olympics, based on the newspaper's views of the Nazi Germany regime. Aftonbladet and Svenska Dagbladet show a positive attitude toward Nazi Germany, while Ny Dag shows great displeasure toward the Nazi Germany regime. Arbetet shows, like Aftonbladet and Svenska Dagbladet, a relatively positive attitude toward Nazi Germany, even though the newspaper sometimes expressed criticism directed against Hitler and his regime.

The purpose of this study is to show how the Swedish newspapers Aftonbladet andDagens Nyheter reported on and described Dag Hammarskjöld as a man and a symbolat the time of his death in 1961. The method for the research has been a qualitativethematic analysis of the content in the articles published from the date ofHammarskjöld´s death to the day after the funeral. The study has been based on theoriesabout newspapers roles in the construction of imagined communities, the use of mythsand the objectifying of abstract ideas in news texts.I have found that the investigated newspapers described Dag Hammarskjöld assynonymous with the United Nations, the world peace and a hope for the future. He wasalso described as a link between the present and the past in the Swedish history at thesame time as he was described as a man of the people. He was representing“Swedishness” in an international context and the cosmopolitan. The Swedish peoplewere described as a silent anonymous group mourning a great man and a fellowcountryman.The study shows that Dag Hammarskjöld became a complex figure thatrepresented not only him self but also Swedish qualities and norms.

This essay is focusing on Dag Hammarskjöld´s influences from Christian mysticism and modern criticism of metaphysics. Meister Eckhard is a well-known reference in Markings which in this study will be set as an example of mysticism i Hammarskjöld´s thinking. Not so associated to Hammarskjöld is the philosofer Axel Hägerström, though he will be an example of influences of modern thinking in Markings. To achieve a more specific view about how mysticism and modernity is converging and diverging in Markings, three subjects are more deeply discussed. These subjects are Jesus, Man and Metaphysics. In the matter of Jesus Hammarskjöld, Hägerström and Eckhart is sharing a lot of common understandings. When it comes to Man it is more complex diverging views between them all. Considering the metaphysics, Hammarskjöld´s and Eckhart´s view is diverging fundamentally from Hägerström´s. The result of this essay is leading to a discussion about some question this research has indicated and is setting focus on the meaning as an ontological resource, some problems with negative theology and Schweitzer´s ethics.

The thesis analyzes version control system Subversion and its available backends for storing data in a repository. It compares these backends and describes basic features of a new SQL database backend. Design and implementation of the new backend, based on MySQL database, is described and the new backend is then compared with existing backends BDB and FSFS.

Ray tracing is a popular technique used in movies and video games to create compelling visuals. Ray traced computer images are increasingly becoming more realistic and almost indistinguishable from real-word images. Due to the complexity of scenes and the desire for high resolution images, ray tracing can become very expensive in terms of computation and memory. To address these concerns, researchers have examined data structures to efficiently store geometric and material information. Sparse voxel octrees (SVOs) and directed acyclic graphs (DAGs) have proven to be successful geometric data structures for reducing memory requirements. Moxel DAGs connect material properties to these geometric data structures, but experience limitations related to memory, build times, and render times. This thesis examines the efficacy of connecting an alternative material data structure to existing geometric representations. The contributions of this thesis include the creation of a new material representation using hashing to accompany DAGs, a method to calculate surface normals using neighboring voxel data, and a demonstration and validation that DAGs can be used to super sample based on proximity. This thesis also validates the visual acuity from these methods via a user survey comparing different output images. In comparison to the Moxel DAG implementation, this work increases render time, but reduces build times and memory, and improves the visual quality of output images.
