Návrh volnočasového projektu pro děti středního školního věku se zaměřením na ekologickou výchovu a výchovu k hodnotám / Draft project of leisure for the middle school age children with a focus on enviromental education and education towards values

MATLACHOVÁ, Petra January 2013 (has links)
The thesis focuses on the draft project for the middle school age children. The theoretical part characterizes the children of the middle school age. Further, it describes moral thinking and the perception of values from the perspective of history. The next chapters are dedicated to the education towards values and environmental ethics. The practical part includes the didactical draft project. The draft contains activities, which help to develop ecological thinking together with the associated value system of an individual. The main idea of the whole project is the identification of the individual with nature as with himself. There are also used non-directive methods of moral education that help the individuals to realize the responsibility for their behavior on the Earth.

Socialism - miljöpolitikens vän eller fiende? : En kvalitativ studie över Vänsterpartiets miljöpolitik över tid

Strandberg, Emelie January 2020 (has links)
This study is a qualitative investigation, the study is focused on the Swedish political party the Left Party and the party’s environmental politics. Previous research has shown that former traditional socialist parties have been greening over time, a phenomenon called greening of the left. Socialist parties are emphasising a strict and radical environmental politics such as deep ecological politics to stop climate change and overthrow capitalism. At the same time, traditional right-left politics seem to belong in the 20th century, and the new politics is now identified as the GAL-TAN scale. The purpose of this study is to analyse the Swedish Left Party using idea and ideology analysis to see what kind of environmental politics the Left Party is currently implementing, and whether there has been a change over time. The results of the study is that the Left Party has implemented a deep ecology type of environmental politics, and that there has been a change over time where the Left Party first implemented ecologism, and have slowly over the past 30 years moved towards deep ecology. Thus, the conclusion of this study is that the Swedish Left Party is yet another example of greening of the left.

Earth Matters: Religion, Nature, and Science in the Ecologies of Contemporary America

Levine, Daniel 16 September 2013 (has links)
Earth Matters examines the relationships between alternative religion in North America and the natural world through the twin lenses of the history of religions and cultural anthropology. Throughout, nature remains a contested ground, defined simultaneously the limits of cultural activity and by an increasing expansion of claims to knowledge by scientific discourses. Less a historical review than a series of fugues of thought, Earth Matters engages with figures like the French vitalist, Georges Canguilhem, the American environmentalist, John Muir; the founder of Deep Ecology, Arne Næss; the collaborators on Gaia Theory, James Lovelock and Lynn Margulis; the physicist and New Age scientist, Fritjof Capra; and the Wiccan writer and activist, Starhawk. These subjects move in spirals throughout the thesis: Canguilhem opens the question of vitalism, the search for a source of being beyond the explanations of the emerging sciences. As rationalism expands its dominance across the scientific landscape, this animating force moves into the natural world, to that protean space between the city and the wild and in the environmental thinkers who initially moved along those boundaries. As the twentieth century moves towards a close, mechanistic thinking simultaneously reaches heights of success previously unimagined and collapses under the demand for complexity posed by quantum physics, by research in genetic interactions, by the continued elusive relationship of mind to health. This allows the wild to return inside through the internalization of consciousness sparked by the American New Age, but also provides a new model to understand the natural world as complex zone open to a wide variety of strategies, including the multiplicities of understanding offered through contemporary neopaganisms. Earth Matters argues for the necessity of the notion of ecology, both as an environmental concern but also as an organizing principle for human thought and behavior. Ecologies are by their nature complex and multi-variegated things dependent upon the surprising and unpredictable interaction of radically different organisms, and it is through this model that we are best able to understand not only ourselves but also our communities and our efforts to make sense of the external world.

[en] HUMAN X NATURE – THE BASIC DUALISM MODERN PARADIGM: A VIEW FROM THE EMERGING NEW KNOWLEDGE / [pt] SER HUMANO X NATUREZA – O DUALISMO BÁSICO DO PARADIGMA MODERNO: UM OLHAR A PARTIR DOS NOVOS SABERES EMERGENTES

07 July 2020 (has links)
[en] The research deals with the relationship between humans and nature. The modern paradigm to understand so as to constitute its founding basic dualism, with complete rupture and dissociation between them. Crises arising from this radical split both from an ecological point of view, and subjective to run. After an analysis of the emergence of a holistic and interdisciplinary paradigm is observed, and from these new epistemological horizons arise here called emerging knowledge. This name refers to the new ecological knowledge: Deep Ecology, ecofeminism and Social Ecology. This knowledge understand that man and nature are intrinsically connected in a web of interconnections, inaugurating a new vision of more welcoming world and based care. To deepen the theme, there is a proposal for analysis of sustainable communities as materializadoras the assumptions of the emerging new knowledge, including the theory of Donald Winnicott about updating the true self.

Ecovillages as Destinations : Potential of Educational Tourism for Coping with Climate-Anxiety

Rothe, Lena January 2021 (has links)
Climate-anxiety is a growing mental health issue among the public and particularly among students in sustainability-related studies in Higher Education Institutions (HEI). As education on climate change in HEI overly relies on cognitive learning, students are not able to address their emotions and potential worries about climate change adequately. The research field of climate-anxiety has emerged after 2007 and relates to other mental health responses to environmental destruction such as eco-anxiety. This study examines whether climate-anxiety affects students within HEI and what coping strategies are used by them. The aim is to suggest approaches for HEI and educational tourism providers to better address climate-anxiety. Specifically, it investigates whether non-formal actors like ecovillages can help students to cope with climate-anxiety. Ecovillages are increasingly recognising their role in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and helping students with climate-anxiety could balance the shortcomings of HEI. Five case studies of ecovillages were included to determine the potential of educational tourism in reducing climate-anxiety. Even though the study found that short-term study visits were not helpful for students climate-anxiety, it can be assumed that students could gain hands-on coping techniques from more extended stays at ecovillages. Particularly the ecovillages learning environment and pedagogy are beneficial for coping with climate-anxiety. It is suggested that HEI should initiate cooperations with local ecovillages to improve climate-anxiety among students, as it was found that lecturers and Student Mental Health Services (SMHS) in HEI in Sweden do not sufficiently address climate-anxiety.

Beskouings oor volhoubare ontwikkeling en die krisis in die natuur

Treurnicht, Stephanus Philippus 30 June 2004 (has links)
Text in Afrikaans / During the last few decades the need existed for a new framework to give direction to development and ecological thought in respect of the sustaining of nature in order to place development and ecological thought within the limits of nature. However, development thought and the debate relating to nature are to some extent still treated in theory and practice as two separate entities. One of the current challenges for sustainable development is to reconcile the development and ecological branches of this debate. The thesis firstly explains the origin and characteristics of sustainable development. Secondly, the crisis in nature is discussed, followed by a discussion of the most important ecological views relating to sustainable development. Then issues in development thought that relates to sustainable development is discussed, as well as the changing emphasis in development thought that stimulated the growth of sustainable development. The mainstream development view, as the other main branch of sustainable development thinking, is then discussed. In conclusion, some issues relating to the operationalisation of sustainable development is discussed. / Development Studies / D. Litt. et Phil. (Ontwikkelingstudies)
