Le dépassement de la mise en scène et la question de la théâtralité dans l'itinéraire de Klaus Michael Grüber / Beyond stage directing and the question of theatricality in Klaus Michael Grüber's works

La thèse présentée étudie et analyse le processus de mise en scène dans le travail de Klaus Michael Grüber, en démontrant que la mise en scène relève dans le cas étudié, d’une pratique artistique à part entière, singulière et innovante, et restée peu étudiée comme telle dans le domaine des arts visuels et plus généralement dans le domaine de l’art contemporain. En s’appuyant sur l’analyse des rapports entre le mouvement pictural de la Figuration narrative — dont les peintres Gilles Aillaud, Eduardo Arroyo et Antonio Recalcati — et l’œuvre théâtrale de Klaus Michael Grüber, l’auteure montre que selon les termes de Denis Bablet, une révolution scénique s’est accomplie dans la conception même du lieu théâtral, ouvrant par delà les oppositions binaires entre texte et image, Figure et Discours, à un « théâtre du regard » (Jean Jourdheuil). Parmi les cas de figure traités, l’un d’eux a été tout particulièrement étudié et analysé : il s’agit de la mise en scène du roman d’Hölderlin (Hypérion ou l’ermite de Grèce), intitulée Winterreise in Olympiastadion, réalisée en 1977 à Berlin. La thèse se présente comme une contribution à la recherche d’une méthodologie et d’un réseau conceptuel permettant de mieux comprendre en quoi l’œuvre de mise en scène de Klaus Michael Grüber ouvre pour le théâtre à une nouvelle pensée du Visible que Merleau-Ponty, dans L’Œil et l’Esprit, appelait de ses vœux. La thèse comporte également une part critique importante de la notion de « spectacle » et insiste tout particulièrement sur la question du lieu scénique dont l’irréductibilité à toute spectacularisation est problématisée comme fondement de l’œuvre théâtrale elle-même. / This thesis studies end analyses the stage setting process in Klaus Michael Grüber’s work, demonstrating in the case studied that stage directing is a genuine artistic practice, unique and innovative, and little studied as such to this day within the field of visual arts and more generally within the field of contemporary art. Based on the analysis of the relationship betwenn the pictorial movement of Narrative Figuration and those of painters who worked with Klaus Michael Grübers — such as Gilles Aillaud, Eduardo Arroyo et Antonio Recalcati — the autor shows that, in Denis Balet’s terms, a scenic revolution has been accomplished in the mere conception of theatrical location, wich opens beyond the binary oppositions between texte and image, Figure and Speech, onto a « theater of the eye » (Jean Jourdheuil). Among the cases studied, one has been very closely examined and analysed : it is the staging and directing of Hölderlin’s novel (Hyperion or the Greek Hermit) entitled Winterreise in Olympiastadion and performed in Berlin in 1977. This thesis is a contribution to the search for a methodology and a conceptual network enabling one to better understand how Klaus Michael Grüber’s work as a stage director opens theatre to a new way of considering the Visible, wich was what Merleau-Ponty called for in L’Œil et l’Esprit. The thesis also includes an important critical review of the notion of « show » and puts a particular emphasis on the notion of scenic location, the irreducibility to any spectacularization of wich is problematized as a basis for the theatrical work itself.

Cette thèse examine l'influence sur les micro-interactions sociales, des multiples cultures et identités que les acteurs sociaux sont susceptibles de mobiliser pendant une rencontre. D'un point de vue interactionniste symbolique, elle focalise sur le processus intersubjectif de négociation de repères de signification, pendant une interaction multiculturelle (approche sémiopragmatique). À travers son analyse d'un corpus d'interactions observées au sein d'une association étudiante européenne, la thèse souligne l'importance de la dimension interculturelle dans la communication interpersonnelle. À partir d'une conception processuelle de la culture, définie et actualisée dans les interactions, elle étudie la manière dont les individus fondent leur prévisibilité intersubjective sur la mise en avant de diverses appartenances sociales. L'activation de multiples identités, associées à des repères culturels différents, permet aux membres de l'association, dans certains contextes, d'instaurer des conditions de prévisibilité mutuelle qui ne reposent qu'en partie sur leurs identités nationales différentes. Enfin, la thèse s'intéresse à la manière dont les repères de signification sont performés pendant l'interaction. Trois contextes interprétatifs sont distingués : celui de la culture (significations préfigurées), celui de la situation sociale (significations configurées) et celui de l'interaction particulière (significations performées dans la figuration). Ensemble, les trois niveaux composent le contexte figuratif, contexte actualisé au fil des échanges, et auquel les acteurs sociaux se réfèrent pour formuler et pour interpréter leurs actes symboliques respectifs.

Att bygga med konst : en fallstudie om investeringar i konstnärlig gestaltning vid nybyggnation

Syfte: Uppsatsen syftar till att förklara hur byggherreföretag investerar i konstnärlig gestaltning. Genom analysen besvaras undersökningsfrågorna som handlar om vilka investeringar och strategier som tillämpas av byggherrarna för konstnärlig gestaltning, samt vilka faktorer som påverkar deras beslut att arbeta med konst och kultur. Teoretiskt perspektiv: Studien görs ur ett företagsperspektiv med hjälp av teorier om hur olika värden kan genereras utifrån kulturen tillsammans med teorier om strategier, investering och beslutsfattande.   Metod: Vi har gjort en kvalitativ studie med en abduktiv ansats. Undersökningen är gjord som en explorativ fallstudie. I en kommun har vi valt tre verksamma byggföretag med pågående byggprojekt. Data har samlats in genom intervjuer, deltagande på seminarier samt sekundärdata såsom rapporter och styrdokument. Slutsats: Det finns en motsättning mellan hur kommunen och byggherrarna ser på konstnärlig gestaltning som leder till att initiativkraften är låg. Resultaten visar att byggherrarna inte använder någon specifik investeringskalkyl som ekonomiskt underlag för konstnärlig gestaltning. Byggherrarna låter istället den konstnärliga gestaltningen ingå i den totala budgetkalkylen för hela nybyggnationen. Byggherrarna anser själva att de inte har någon medveten strategi men i vår studie har tre gemensamma faktorer identifierats vilka är avgörande för om och hur företaget inkluderar konstnärlig gestaltning i sina byggprojekt: ekonomi, kundernas önskemål och kommunens krav. Resultaten visar slutligen att byggherrarna har bristande uppfattningar om kulturens olika värden och kommunen skulle bättre kunna utnyttja sina möjligheter att genom förväntningar och riktlinjer öka inslaget av konstnärlig gestaltning. / Purpose: This dissertation aims to explore artistic representation investments by property developers. The report aims to analyse how property developers formulate their strategies and how they invest in artistic representation. In addition the report investigates which elements affect their decision to work with artistic representation. These are the research questions that formed the basis for the investigation. Frame of reference: The study is done in the light of theories about how different values ​​can be generated based on cultural expressions along with theories about strategies, investment and decision making. Method: One municipality and three property developers with ongoing construction projects have been the object for this study. Data were collected through interviews and participation in seminars and through secondary data such as reports and policy documents. Conclusion: The study concludes that there is a disagreement between how municipalities and property developers view art. The results show that the property developers do not use capital budgeting as funding for artistic creation. A common finding for all the companies is that they include the artistic interpretation in the overall budget estimate. It was also discovered that the developers themselves believe that they do not have a conscious strategy. However, in the survey, three common factors were identified that are crucial for whether the property developers include artistic representation in their construction projects: financing, the clients requests and the demands of the municipalities. Finally, the results also suggest that property developers do not take into account other values ​​that art and culture can generate.

The objective of this research was to study how two newspapers in Sweden, Aftonbladet and Expressen are creating an image of the Stockholm suburb Rinkeby. The method used to do the study was qualitative content analysis. Ten articles were chosen, five off either newspaper and were found on the internet homepages of the newspapers on 15 November of 2013 and 27 January of 2014. Several theories were used in the study. Agenda setting theory, a media theory that explains the power of media, Figuration theory developed by Norbert Elias that deals with power struggles between different groups in society. Labeling theory explains how society, by labeling someone a “criminal” may accept it as an own identity and become one. Mats Franzén theory of power and how it can be understood thru discourse, context and resources. While studying the subject I realized that for long time the suburbs of Sweden have been portrayed in a negative context, especially “famous” suburbs like Rinkeby. The suburbs’ are constructed by the media as very dangerous places, with young people (often males) running wild and engaging in destructive behavior.

Neste trabalho, foram analisadas duas obras que tratam sobre o Brasil e que são bastante conhecidas nacional e internacionalmente. O intuito foi apreender a formação das imagens femininas para saber se a sensualidade é um traço produzido por esses textos e se ele se torna relevante na construção da identidade das mulheres brasileiras, uma vez que aparece em descrições de estrangeiros sobre as mulheres brasileiras (SILVA; BLANCHETTE, 2005; PISCITELLI, 2005; PISCITELLI et al., 2007) e, igualmente, nas propagandas e mídias do Brasil (PISCITELLI, 1996; PACHECO, 2004; GABRIELLI, 2011). Fundamentada na semiótica francesa, a análise observou textos produzidos em momentos diferentes para possibilitar a percepção de semelhanças e continuidades ou de diferenças e rupturas entre as duas obras no imaginário sobre a mulher brasileira. A primeira narrativa investigada é a Carta do Descobrimento do Brasil, escrita por Pero Vaz de Caminha, no ano de 1500, e a segunda é Casa-Grande e Senzala, de Gilberto Freyre, publicada em 1933. Para analisar a contrução textual-discursiva da identidade feminina, o nível discursivo do Percurso Gerativo do Sentido se destacou, sendo observados os percursos figurativos e temáticos, as isotopias deles decorrentes, bem como as projeções da enunciação de cada texto. Ressalta-se que as manipulações, a sanção, as paixões, o ser e o fazer dos sujeitos contribuíram para a construção da identidade feminina. Os resultados da análise demonstram um direcionamento do olhar sobre as mulheres, que recai na sensualidade e na sexualidade. Em outras palavras, mesmo com uma extensão maior, tanto em Casa-Grande e Senzala quanto na Carta de Caminha as categorias de gênero e de sexualidade predominam nas descrições femininas e nas relações que elas estabelecem com a sociedade. / In this paper we analyzed two works nationally and internationally well-known dealing on Brazil in order to apprehend the formation of women\'s images to know if the sensuality is a trait produced by these texts and if this trait becomes relevant in the construction of Brazilian womens identity; since it appears in foreign descriptions about these women (SILVA; BLANCHETTE, 2005; PISCITELLI, 2005; 2007; et al) and also in advertisements and media in Brazil (PISCITELLI, 1996; PACHECO, 2004; GABRIELLI, 2011). Based on the French Semiotics, the study observed texts produced at different times to allow the perception of similarities and continuities or differences and ruptures between the two works in the imaginary about the Brazilian woman. The first narrative investigated is the Letter of the Discovery of Brazil written by Pero Vaz de Caminha, in 1500, and the second is The Master and the Slaves by Gilberto Freyre, published in 1933. To analyze the textual-discursive construction of female identity, the discursive level of Generative Route of Sense stood out being observed the figurative and thematic routes, the isotopies resulting from these routes and also the projections of each textenunciation. However, the manipulations, the sanction, the passions, the being and the doing of individuals contributed to the construction of female identity in the texts. The analyse results show a guidance of look at women which falls in sensuality and sexuality. In other words, even with a greater extention, both in The Master and the Slaves as in the Letter of Caminha, it is the category of gender and sexuality that prevails in women\'s descriptions and in the relationships that they establish with society.

Cette thèse de doctorat ne vise pas tant à questionner la pertinence de la formule d'École romaine (Scuola Romana) appliquée à un groupe de peintres et de sculpteurs actifs à Rome dans l'entre-deux-guerres qu'à tenter de comprendre le succès de cette étiquette jusqu'à nos jours. Différentes méthodes sont utilisées pour aborder les écrits de critique d'art et les discours scientifiques, mais aussi les productions textuelles plus liées à la fiction et au témoignage. D'autre part, ce travail analyse les carrières singulières des artistes ainsi que le devenir des œuvres afin de replacer l'École romaine par rapport à une histoire du goût en Italie et au-delà. L'étude suit une progression chronologique. Elle porte d'abord sur la réception de l'École romaine du temps de son activité, entre 1918 et 1945, puis interroge la place des artistes du mouvement dans l'Italie de l'après-Seconde Guerre mondiale, dans un contexte marqué par les divisions politiques. Enfin, à partir des années 1980, l'on assiste à une tentative de revalorisation marchande de l'École romaine sans précédent. Il s'agit alors d'évaluer les résultats de cette action et de comprendre ce qui l'a rendue possible. Les questions de la modernité artistique ainsi que celles des liens de la scène artistique romaine avec le fascisme puis avec la mémoire du régime sont au cœur de cette recherche, constituant des approches neuves pour étudier un objet encore mal connu en France. / This PhD thesis questions the label « Ecole romaine » (also known as Scuola romana) used to designate a group of painters and sculptors in Rome between 1918 and 1945. We aim to understand the reasons for the success of this expression until now. We use various methods in order to investigate the discourses of both art critics and scholars as well as more fictional texts, often written as testimonies. Furthermore, this work analyses the singular career of each artist and the reception of their works in order to consider the Ecole Romaine within a history of taste in Italy and abroad. Our study follows a chronological development. First, we analyse the reception of the School when active, between 1918 and 1945. Then, we examine the place of our artists in post-war Italy, in a context of great political divisions. Finally, we study how, in the early 1980s, various actors on the artistic scene tried to raise the value of the Ecole Romaine's works on the art market. What were the results of their attempt, and to what extent this renewal of interest had a lasting impact, especially in the museums field ? The questions of artistic modernity and of the relationship between the Ecole Romaine and the fascist regime are central in this research. These constitute new approaches to a theme which has remained relatively unknown outside of Italy.

A seguinte dissertação examina dois núcleos fundamentais da literatura do escritor francês Raymond Roussel (1877-1933), a saber: o problema da representação e a questão da produtividade textual, conceito emprestado de Julia Kristeva. Nesse percurso, nossos objetos privilegiados para análise são o romance Impressions dAfrique (1910) e o texto publicado postumamente Comment jai écrit certains de mes livres (1935). Observa-se na escritura rousseliana um deslocamento da representação mimética de modo a configurar a emersão da produtividade da linguagem literária. Essa última categoria se manifesta nos agenciamentos dos famosos procédés, na medida em que se transita do fascínio da cena descrita à prospecção do vazio da linguagem. / The following thesis examines two fundamental cores of French writer Raymond Roussels literature (1877-1933): the problem of representation and the issue about the textual productivity, concept borrowed from Julia Kristeva. Our privileged objects for analysis are the novel Impressions d\'Afrique (1910) and the posthumously published text of Comment jai écrit certains de mes livres (1935). A displacement of mimetic representation can be noticed in the Rousselian scripture that configures the surfacing of productivity of the literary language. This last category is manifested in the assemblages of the well-known procédés, as it transits from the fascination of the scene described to the prospect of emptiness of the language.

A pesquisa aqui apresentada teve por objetivo estudar os processos de socialização a que são submetidos jovens que aderem a organizações que buscam preservar ou subverter a ordem. Por meio de entrevistas, observações de campo, análise de documentos e pesquisa bibliográfica, procurei desvendar: 1) os processos de socialização conduzidos por essas organizações; 2) como se desenham as teias familiares, afetivas, profissionais e escolares, nas quais os jovens integrantes estavam ou estão enredados e de que forma elas os compeliram a aderir a movimentos que buscam preservar ou subverter a ordem; 3) como agem essas organizações para reforçar ou atenuar em seus integrantes determinadas formas de sentir, pensar, agir e se relacionar com os outros e com o mundo. Foram escolhidas, para a condução do estudo, a Academia da Força Aérea (AFA), instituição que forma oficiais para a Aeronáutica, uma das três Forças Armadas (FFAA), protetoras da ordem por excelência, e a Juventude Pátria Livre (JPL), grupo marxista-leninista subordinado ao Partido Pátria Livre (PPL), antigo Movimento Revolucionário 8 de Outubro (MR8), siglas que defendem, a longo prazo, a subversão da ordem para a implantação de uma sociedade igualitária e socialista (ou seja, a construção de uma nova ordem). Os dados coletados sugerem pontos de convergência na socialização de militares da AFA/Aeronáutica e de militantes da JPL/PPL, como também identificam falsas similaridades e diferenças significativas. Os pontos de convergência são os seguintes: 1) forte identidade de grupo e preocupação com a sociedade (senso de coletividade acima do senso de individualidade); 2) apego a valores patrióticos e nacionalistas; 3) ética da missão dada - missão cumprida; 4) diferente percepção do ser voluntário, em comparação com o que estamos habituados no senso comum; 5) ética corporal e de vestuário explícita e institucionalizada, no caso dos militares, e implícita e não institucionalizada, mas também perceptível, no caso dos militantes; 6) recrutamento endógeno; 7) vigorosa preocupação com a doutrina. As falsas similaridades e divergências significativas também podem ser agrupadas em sete pontos: 1) diferentes relações com a cidade; 2) escolarização dos entrevistados e dos antepassados; 3) religião; 4) adesão a outras organizações; 5) vida itinerante; 6) apoio familiar; 7) sacrifícios. / The research presented here had the objective of studying the socialization processes that young people are subjected to adhere to organizations that seek to preserve or overturn the order. Through interviews, field observations, analysis of documents and literature, I tried to unravel: 1) socialization processes conducted by these organizations; 2) how to design the family, emotional, professional and educational webs, in which young members were or are caught and how they compelled them to join movements that seek to preserve or overturn the order; 3) how act these organizations to enhance or mitigate its members in certain ways to feel, think, act and relate with others and with the world. I chose to study Academia da Força Aérea (AFA), an institution that forms officials for Aeronautics, one of the three Armed Forces, protective order par excellence, and Juventude Pátria Livre (JPL), marxist-leninist group subordinate to the Partido Pátria Livre (PPL), former Movimento Revolucionário 8 de Outubro (MR8), groups that stand, in the long term, the subversion of the order for the deployment of an egalitarian socialist society (ie, building of a new order). Results suggest points of convergence in the socialization of military AFA/Aeronautics and militants JPL/PPL, but also identify false similarities and differences. Convergent points are: 1) strong group identity and concern for society (sense of collectivity above the sense of individuality); 2) attachment to patriotic and nationalist values; 3) ethics given mission - mission accomplished; 4) different perception of \"volunteering\", compared to what we used in the common sense; 5) body and explicit and institutionalized ethical clothing, in the case of the military, and implicit and not institutionalized, but also noticeable, in the case of the militants; 6) endogenous recruitment; 7) strong concern with doctrine. False similarities and significant differences can also be grouped into seven points: 1) different relationships with the city; 2) education of the respondents and ancestors; 3) religion; 4) adherence to other organizations; 5) itinerant life; 6) family support; 7) sacrifices.

nÃo hà / Este estudo apresenta uma anÃlise da linguagem de pessoas com esquizofrenia, em surto psicÃtico, tendo como foco o fenÃmeno da polidez linguÃstica, a partir da figuratividade. Para tanto, procuramos verificar como os participantes da conversaÃÃo interagem uns com os outros, fazendo o trabalho com as faces (E.Goffman), e como eles utilizam o fenÃmeno da linguagem figurada, mais especificamente da metÃfora, como estratÃgia de polidez linguÃstica. Para compreender a linguagem de pessoas com transtornos mentais, analisamos as conversas de pacientes do Hospital Myra Y Lopes nos anos 2009 e 2010, bem como as conversas jà transcritas por Brito (2005), Teixeira (2001) e Picardi (1999). Adotamos, como referencial teÃrico bÃsico, os postulados de Brown; Levinson (1987), Leech (1983) Goffman (1967), Lakoff (1987, 1989, 1993,), Lakoff; Johnson (1980, 1999), Volker (2001) entre outros estudiosos dessa temÃtica. Como resultado da anÃlise, constatamos que os esquizofrÃnicos usam a figuratividade como estratÃgia de polidez linguÃstica e, dependendo do nÃvel de gravidade da doenÃa, nÃo sÃo totalmente alienados aos acontecimentos e Ãs significaÃÃes ideolÃgicas, nem aos eventos sociais e culturais que envolvem o processo conversacional. Detectamos que eles sÃo polidos e que as estratÃgias e modos de polidez, usados por eles, nÃo sÃo dotados de valor absoluto, apesar de a polidez ser tida como um fenÃmeno universal.
