Histórica em Hans
Ulrich Gumbrecht.
completa. Compartilhando
implicações teóricas do
e Paul Veyne.
Segundo Gumbrecht, a simulação de imediação reduziria a
ênfase sobre a prática
hermenêutica do conhecimento do passado. Portanto, neste
palco sem atores
parece imperar a materialidade dos elementos envolvidos
nos processos
comunicativos. Neste âmbito cabe perguntar: seria
plausível a teorização acerca
destas novas formas comunicativo-literárias - que em toda
a sua inegável
virtualidade não deixam de acentuar afetos e
sensibilidades, minimizando (sem
excluí-las) formas de racionalização? / [en] Pasts, Presents and Presences: Historical Simultaneity in

Gumbrecht. Taking Hans U. Gumbrecht´s In 1926: Living on
the Edge of Time
as a starting point, it is the purpose of this study to
explore and scrutinize certain
specific aspects and unresolved questions present in
current Literary Studies. The
somewhat whimsical User´s Manual is indicative of the
experimental nature of
his project. The central question will fall upon the
capabilities of a written book
(as opposed to other media) to produce or, rather, to re-
produce past
experiences-you should feel in 1926. Seeking, then, the
effect of (almost)
perfect immediacy, Gumbrecht hopes to help formulate or
contribute to what
could be classified as Sensorial Historiography - wherein
the act of generating
presence is to be understood as opposed to Hermeneutics.
Sharing his impulse to
evoke past worlds, this paper intends to develop a
thorough discussion centered
upon Gumbrecht´s own notion of production of presence.
Inevitably, this
includes a short analysis of his theories on the
materialities of communication. In
addition, the essay will also attempt to draw connections
and parallels between his
notions of historiography and those of the Annales school
in France - i.e. Michel
de Certeau, François Furet and Paul Veyne who, in their
new proposals of
historiography, offer interesting counterpoints to the non-
hermeneutical model.
Therefore, the question which will guide and orient the
course of this study will
be: would it be plausible and relevant to theorize about
these new (and very
experimental) forms of representation, which seem to
privilege affections and
sensibilities over more rational approaches - albeit
without excluding them
entirely?

Understanding the Cultural Changes of Family Creation, Size and Unity Through the Analysis of the Changing Behaviors and Meanings of Their SymbolsUnknown Date (has links)
This study seeks to explore longitudinally the changing behaviors and meanings of the symbols bound to family creation, size and unity in order to understand why and how they changed. The research method fuses historical facts collected from historical literature, the data from the participant’s interviews, and the ethnology of the American family made by David Schneider (1980), using symbolic anthropology as the guiding theoretical framework. The imposed gender differentiation, religious precepts, the shifting economic models, economic recessions, World War I and World War II, intellectual and technological developments, and the ideologies accompanying these events caused changes of human behavior and the redefinition of main cultural meanings of the symbols bound to family creation, size and unity. These resulted over time in a systematic shrinking of family creation and size and caused the re-conceptualizing of family unit. Yet, numbers of American family creation and size did not reach negative extremes, as they did in other developed nations. The resisting behavior emerges from the rich ethnic diversity in the nation that offers behavioral alternatives, the people’s trust their government and the American identity rooted on the founding ideals of the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. / Includes bibliography. / Thesis (M.A.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2016. / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection

[en] PROCLAMATION AND REVOLT: RECEPTIONS OF THE REPUBLIC BY MEMBERS OF THE IHGB AND THE CITY LIFE (1880 – 1900) / [pt] PROCLAMAÇÃO E REVOLTA: RECEPÇÕES DA REPÚBLICA PELOS SÓCIOS DO IHGB E A VIDA DA CIDADE (1880 – 1900)FRANCISCO GOUVEA DE SOUSA 27 August 2013 (has links)
[en] The frames of apprehension of the past are heritages which the history use and criticize. Proclamation and revolt are common frames in the writing of history and in the political understanding that it disposes. The present Thesis focus on a production and a moment particularly good to criticize those frames: the reception of the Republic proclamation by the members of the Instituto Histórico e Geográfico Brasileiro; when the expected future – the continuity of the Empire in a third reign – vanishes. At this moment of hesitation caused by the lost of the expected future, the past became the reference to understand the present. The words once used to write history became part of the voices about the present. The anarchy of the first years of the Second Reign seemed to be back to those who regretted the lost of D. Pedro II. At the same moment, other members of the IHGB could see the Republic by the same frame they understood the Independency: as a proclamation. Despite the conflict and tension between those receptions, they share one trait: the active life was understood without any need to engage with it. As proclamation the history was irresistible, the man where lead by the facts and not by their own actions. As anarchy the active life was just one more revolt, a blurred image without characters or density. However, the city claimed its life. As the opposite of the noise of the anarchy or the apathy of the proclamation, the vintém and the encilhamento happened outside the IHGB in the middle of an ongoing debate about an old object that started to became fundamental to the society: the money. If the members of the IHGB talked about proclamation and revolt, they realized the city changes, but they choose to stay apart, a position they shared with the civil governments of the Republic.

This dissertation seeks to discuss the knowledge conveyed by textbooks about the historical process that engendered the Civil-Military Coup and the subsequent consolidation of the Dictatorship (1964-1985), from the didactic materials offered to the schools. I approach the case of high school, where I work as a history teacher in the state network of Rio Grande do Sul. The proposal starts from the analysis of textbooks distributed to students throughout Brazil through the National Fund for Education Development, from its program PNLD - National Program of Didactic Book. For this work it was necessary to establish a critical reflection between the scientific research developed by academic historiography and the content of textbooks received by the schools. It was guided by the clipping of four topics broadly covered by historiography; namely agents of the coup and nomenclatures of the historical process, agents and beneficiaries of the dictatorship, repression and armed struggle and the problem of transition. It was addressed to the political implications that the History of Present Time carries, as well as to the implicit limitations that affect the composition of the textbook.

As armas do Império: Guerra do Paraguai, literatura do Brasil / The weapons of the Empire: Paraguay War, literature of BrazilLeonardo de Oliveira Silva 27 August 2014 (has links)
This dissertation sets out to analyze the War of the Triple Alliance (1864-1870) as an issue of Brazilian literature, investigating the incorporation of historical facts as literary objects, the adjustment of styles and the construction of a position on the war through the oeuvres. To this end, the building of heroism by the epic and condordorist poets is studied, from the starting point of the first publications on the theme in the newspapers of the day and the Riachuelo, by Pererira da Silva, and Glorias Brasileiras (Brazilian Glories), by Antonio de Castro Mendonça Furtado, epopees, up to the appropriation of the war theme by the poets of condorism. Thereafter, there is investigation of the criticism of the conflict through the the satirical literature published by the illustrated press of the period, analyzing the contributions and limitations of their point of view. Finally, we will deal with the assimilation of the theme by the fictional prose of Joaquim Manuel de Macedo, Alfredo d\'Escragnolle Taunay and Machado de Assis

Previous issue date: 2008-09-11 / This study has like focus transform process of identity the Brazilian novel: Viva o
povo brasileiro, by João Ubaldo Ribeiro (1984). The first, we exam relationship that
this work kept with the postmodernism in that the Brazilian identity assumes subvertsive
and revolutionary character. This novel breaks the barrriers between history and
fiction introduction meta-fictional discourse that characters are action and imaginary.
So we have the Brazil is poetic space - house/Country built only for literate arts
discourse though language that transform the facts in narrated universe. After
analyze the official history in two perspectives: domineering and dominated that
relationship between themselves and it forms the identity Brazilian people that are
heroes. However, they occupate centre of narrative with national and human
conscience. This artist fictional universe, the collectivity ideia include difference and
recognition of Brazil like mestizo. So we conclude our study showing like man if
relatioship with his identity from a symbolic construction and he down a dialogue
with art in itself. This dialogue lead the man of mystery and uncertainty future.
constrói a identidade do povo brasileiro.

L'art moderne à l'épreuve du nazisme : historiographie critique de sa réception ( 1945-2015) / Modern art to the test of Nazism : critical historiography of its reception (1945- 2015Portevin, Jeanne-Marie 03 December 2016 (has links)
There are numerous publications in all areas of knowledge covering Nazi Germany. Since 1947 and the book by Adolf Behne (Entartete Kunst), the fate of the Artist in the Third Reich has sparked interest, even compassion, of Art Historians. Nevertheless, only those persecuted by the Nazi Regime, labelled « Degenerate », are celebrated as heroes. These artists would be the ones called on by the Allies to« decontaminate » and pay back the crimes of an entire nation corrupted by twelve years of dictatorship. It is precisely the evolution of the image of these artists, described as « degenerate » or sometimes « inner emigrants », that Iam retracing from the end of World War II until today. Despite a huge amount of publications and exhibitions about Modern Art from the Nazi era, the discourses on this subject have never been put into perspective. When presented chronologically and in a thorough manner, they show the evolution of how the subject was viewed between 1945 and 2015, conditioned by a constantly changing horizon of expectations. Seen in political and social context, these discourses create a 20th century history of Art and invite us to think about the meaning of the Art and the image of the artist.

Previous issue date: 2018-11-30 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPES / The behavior of the scientist is subject to the same laws as any other behavior. It
differs from other behaviors because of the contingencies set by the scientific
community. Part of the events presented by the scientific community is composed by
the reactions of its members to new data and new conceptual proposals. Such reactions
seem to play an important role in the emergence of new scientific theories and in the
modification of preexisting theories. Based on this, the general objective of this work
was to historically analyze the development of the concept of stimulus equivalence in
Murray Sidman's work, some reactions of the scientific community to Sidman's data
and conceptual proposals on stimulus equivalence, and to examine Sidman's responses
to the reactions of these authors. From these general objectives, three studies were
carried out in order to build and characterize a list of Sidman's publications; to
examine the development of the concept of equivalence of stimuli between 1971 and
1994; to analyze the reactions of the scientific community to Sidman (1971), between
1971 and 1982; to briefly characterize the works published between 1982 and 1994
that quoted Sidman (1971) and/or Sidman and Tailby (1982); to analyze a possible
dialogue between Sidman and S. Hayes between 1982 and 1994. It was possible to
verify, during the period between 1971 and 1982, that Sidman and his collaborators
ivestigated problems that appeared in literature outside behavior analysis, such as
neurology and neurolinguistics, but that their research did not have a strong impact on
these scientific communities. Nor does there seem to have been especially relevant
contributions from members of the scientific community for the development of the
concept of stimulus equivalence. Later, between 1982 and 1994, the impact on the
scientific community was notably increased, especially among behavioral analysts,
and researches and discussions by community members, in addition to Sidman's direct
collaborators, seem to have exerted influence in the development of the concept / O comportamento do cientista está sujeito às mesmas leis que qualquer outro
comportamento.
propostas conceituais. Tais reações parecem exercer importante papel no surgimento

O sentido de História para Alexandre Herculano : uma interpretação romântica (1830-1853) / The meaning of History for Alexandre Herculano: a romantic interpretation (1830-1853)Pereira, Leonardo de Atayde 16 November 2009 (has links)
Um dos maiores exemplos de sua literatura e da unidade temática representada pela sua obra é o romance histórico Eurico, O Presbítero, analisado no presente trabalho / Alexandre Herculano is considered one of the introducers and one of the best illustrions representatives of Romanticism in Portugal. His work, fragmented by jornalistic, literary and historiographic productions, demonstrates a great unit, able to join a large investigation tradition about political, social and cultural problems from his country. Moreover, his work has one increasing romantic and liberal reflection about the historic knowledgement. One of major illustrions examples of his literature which represents the unit theme is the historic novel Eurico, O Presbítero (Eurico, the Priest), analysed on the present work.
