Denna studie undersöker hur väl de journalistiska idealen efterlevs i publiceringar gjorda av de tre journalisterna med störst antal följare i Sverige. Studien undersöker även hur dessa tre journalister blandar innehåll som kan kategoriseras som journalistiskt respektive icke-journalistiskt när de kommunicerar med sina följare. De studerade journalisterna är Magda Gad, Marcus Oscarsson och Joakim Lamotte. Studien tar avstamp i tidigare forskning om journalistyrkets ideal och professionalisering, samt om nyhetsförmedling på nätet kombinerat med forskning om hur journalister använder sig av och efterlever de journalistiska idealen i publicering på Twitter. Innehållsflödet för de tre journalisterna har analyserats kvantitativt för att kategorisera vilka av texterna som har journalistiska ambitioner och vilka som har andra syften. Materialet som studerats är inlägg publicerade under november och december 2019. Resultatet har både gett en bild av hur journalisterna blandar mellan journalistiskt innehåll och material som främst syftar till att underhålla relationen med sina följare, och har skapat ett underlag av artiklar som kan kategoriseras som journalistik, för användning i den kvalitativa analysen. De utvalda artiklarna har analyserats med hjälp av en kvalitativ diskursanalys som sedan har jämförts med de etiska reglerna för journalister som Society of Professional Journalists definierat. Resultatet har analyserats i förhållande till hur väl både varje inlägg och journalistens totala insats efterlever de journalistiska idealen. Arbetet med studien belyser också problemet med att forskare och journalister har svårt att få tillgång till strukturerad data från Facebook, vilket gör forskning på området svårare än via exempelvis Twitter. Analysen av resultatet visar att alla tre journalister blandar publiceringar med journalistiska ambitioner med innehåll av mer personlig karaktär i sina flöden. Studien visar också att nivån av efterlevnad av de journalistiska idealen skiljer sig stort åt mellan de tre, och att den som använder oberoende journalist för att beskriva sig själv inte är den som följer idealen bäst.

Plattformen Youtube grundades år 2005 och har sedan dess fortsatt att konstant expandera. Idag är Youtube en världsledande medieplattform med miljontals användare som konsumerar, publicerar och delar youtube-videor. Youtube har utvecklats till att bli en plattform med enorm räckvidd, där influerare inom skönhet och mode skapar innehåll genom att visa upp sina privata liv, tipsa om nya modetrender, visa upp sina favoritplagg och ge råd om skönhetsprodukter för sina hundratusentals prenumeranter. Influerare kallas för vår tids opinionsbildare, som idag har stora följarskaror på sina sociala medier. Genom att dela med sig av sina liv, väcker de stort engagemang hos främst unga tjejer som dagligen konsumerar influerarnas innehåll. Redan vid 11 årsålder, använder idag ungdomar mobilen dagligen. Det dagliga mobilanvändandet som kryper allt lägre ner i åldrarna, ser ut att fortsatt stiga sedan sociala medier och smartphones integrerades i ungdomars liv. Med utgångspunkt i konstruktivistiska teorier, ser vi framställningen av genus som en konstruktion vilken porträtteras genom medier och reklam. Vår kvalitativa studies analys utgår därmed från ett genusperspektiv, vars syfte är att analysera hur influerare framställer och upprätthåller normer och ideal kopplade till femininitet genom sponsrade youtube-videor. Studien har genomförts genom en retorisk samt semiotisk innehållsanalys, för att synliggöra och medvetandegöra influerarens dolda strategier för att övertyga tittaren genom reklamen. Resultaten från analysen visade att normer och kroppsideal upprätthålls av influerarna  genom de sponsrade youtube-videorna. Femininitet framställs av influerarna på ett onyanserat sätt, där innehållet konstruerar en ständig bild av att du som kvinna ska vara attraktiv, sensuell och ta hand om ditt yttre. De sponsrade youtube-videorna blir en ständig påminnelse om de feminina normer du som kvinna ska leva upp till i den samhälleliga diskursen.

The purpose of this study has been to investigate how women's perceptions and attitudes look around fashion companies' representation of different body ideals on Instagram.This study deals with whether the body ideal looks the same on fashion companies'Instagram and whether this is considered to affect women of different ages. The questions that are asked are about how women's perceptions and attitudes look around fashion companies' representation of different body ideals on Instagram and whetherwomen are considered to be affected by the body ideal. The question is also asked how different body ideals are found on fashion companies' Instagram. To answer the study's purpose and questions, two quantitative methods were used, this in the form of a survey and a content analysis. Materials used are the survey responses from the respondents,who were women of different ages, and a code scheme for coding different body typeson fashion companies' Instagram. The study's theoretical starting points are based on the representation theory and the social comparison theory. The study used mostly scientific articles from the journal Body Image. We also used literature to gain an insight into how women are shaped in society. The results of this study show that supermodels are overrepresented and that is why women are considered to be influenced by the bodyi deal that fashion companies represent on Instagram. These results are important as the fashion world has a strong influence on women and affects them negatively

This paper investigates foreign born teachers working as EFL educators and their attitudes towards teaching as well as their roles in teaching the English language. The purpose of this study is to examine what motivates EFL teachers to work abroad and to explore why they are highly valued in non-English speaking countries. Through qualitative interviews with four (4) Filipino teachers working overseas as EFL educators their strengths and weaknesses are explored. My investigation shows that the Filipino teachers’ primary role is to teach communication and literacy skills. In addition, the reasons why these four teachers have chosen to work abroad are higher salary rates and better working conditions. However, their lack of knowledge of the local language and culture are their weaknesses. Finally, findings show that the respondents’ positive attitude towards teaching English abroad shows the importance of English in globalization.

Anorexia nervosa är en vanlig ätstörning och drabbar oftast tonårstjejer. Det finns ingen förklaring till varför en person utvecklar anorexia nervosa, däremot är det en del faktorer som är vanligt förekommande. Det kan handla om framställningen av det kvinnliga och manliga idealen i samhället, men även om personens låga självkänsla och behovet av kontroll. Eftersom det är vanligast att utveckla anorexia nervosa i puberteten vill vi se vilken kunskap elevhälsovården, det vill säga skolsköterskor och kuratorer, på högstadieskolor i Malmö har. Något som vi vill undersöka är om skolorna har några förebyggande insatser gällande anorexia nervosa. Vi är även intresserade av att se hur elevhälsovården handlar i mötet med en person som har utvecklat anorexia nervosa. Det är av stor vikt att personer som arbetar nära ungdomar har en bred kunskap gällande anorexia nervosa för att det ska upptäckas tidigt. Vi anser att personerna vi har intervjuat har en god kunskap gällande både att upptäcka och se signaler, symptom och möjliga orsakser till anorexia nervosa. Vi anser att intervjupersonerna även har ett bra bemötande och handlande i mötet med personer som utvecklat anorexia nervosa. Däremot är de förebyggande insatserna få på skolorona och vi anser att det hade kunnat göras mer. / Anorexia Nervosa is a common eating disorder which often is affecting teenage girls. There are no explanations to why a person develops anorexia nervosa, but there are some explanatory factors that are frequently occurring. It may relate to the reproduction of the female and male ideal in the society, but it may also relate to low self-esteem of the person and the need of control. Since it is most common to develop anorexia nervosa during puberty we would like to examine what knowledge the student health services, i.e. the school nurses and counselors, has in secondary schools in Malmö.We want to examine whether the schools has any preventive bodies regarding anorexia nervosa. We are also interested in how the student health service handles the interaction with a person that developed anorexia nervosa. It is of great value that persons who works close to youth has a wide knowledge regarding anorexia nervosa in order for them to discover it as soon as possible. The persons we have interviewed have good knowledge regarding both discovering signals, symptoms and possible reasons for anorexia nervosa. Furthermore the persons we interviewed also have a proper way of responding to and treating persons that has developed anorexia nervosa. On the contrary we discovered that the preventive bodies on the schools are too few and we argue that there are more to be done.

This thesis examines how New public management has affected the governance of elderly care in Swedish municipalities.  In recent years, the Swedish media, unions for people working in elderly care and other societal actors, have reported on flaws in both the working environment for the people working in elderly care and in the care that is provided to the elders. This thesis examines how the ideas behind the term New public management are implemented in a public organization that is facing a lot of challenges and therefore is struggling to deliver good quality services to the residents. This is done by an in depth analysis of the governance of the elderly care in a single Swedish municipality, Arvika kommun. This analysis also aims to explore the relationship between the challenges that the Swedish elderly care is facing and the implementation of reforms that are associated with the term New public management.  The analysis is based on a model for ideal type analysis and the material that is analyzed consist of a policy document that describes the elderly care in Arvika kommun and transcribed interviews with four informants who are working as managers in the elderly care in Arvika kommun. The ideal types that have been constructed are based on the doctrines that Christopher Hood formulated as the content of the term New public management.  The results from the analysis shows that the ideas behind the term New public management are implemented in the governing of the elderly care in Arvika kommun in a large number of ways. For example in the use of explicit standards and measures of performance, private sector styles of management and the disaggregation of units. The most prominent way in which the ideas behind the term New public management are implemented in the governing of the elderly care is in the focus on discipline and parsimony in resource use which is something that affects the whole organization.  Like some of the previous studies that examine New public management in relation to Swedish elderly care, this thesis also presents the result that there is a connection between the challenges that the elderly care is facing and the implementation of reforms associated with New public management. New public managements focus on making everything more time- and cost effective gives the staff working in elderly care a more stressful working environment. The stressful working environment leads to people resigning and a staff shortage which in turn leads to a lower quality in the care that is provided to the elders.

Studien ”Den tunna verkligheten” är ämnad att undersöka hur influencers på Instagramkommunicerar det tunna kroppsidealet visuellt. Studiens syfte är att genom en semiotiskbildanalys undersöka hur det tunna kroppsidealet tar sig uttryck visuellt på sociala medier. Detteoretiska ramverket som används för att diskutera studiens resultat och analys är Ferdinand deSaussure, Charles S. Peirce och Roland Barthes teorier inom semiotiken och teckenläran, samtLeon Festingers teori om social jämförelse. Studien har använt sig av semiotisk bildanalys sommetod och utgår från en deduktiv ansats. Den semiotiska bildanalysen används primärt för attanalysera kroppsliga drag från identifierat från tidigare forskning, parallellt medanalysverktygen denotation och konnotation. De semiotiska verktygen index, ikon och symbolhar också använts i studien för en djupare analys. Analysen påvisade hur det tunna idealet tog sig uttryck på Instagram. Bilderna porträtteradetecken av det tunna idealet. Exempel på dessa tecken är utstickande revben, tunna lår ochnyckelben. Myten om den normativa kroppen avslöjades också som ett socialt budskap ochbilderna tyder på ett medvetet kroppsfokus för att främja det tunna idealet. Resultatet av studienpåvisade även hur en ökad kunskap om hur ideal kommuniceras behövs för att förståproblematiken med det tunna kroppsidealets påverkan, i form av social jämförelse ochinternalisering, som sedan kan leda till en ätstörningsproblematik. / The study "The thin reality" is intended to investigate how influencers on Instagramcommunicate the thin body ideal visually. The purpose of the study is to examine, through asemiotic image analysis, how the thin body ideal is expressed visually on social media, througha semiotic image analysis. The theoretical framework used to discuss the study's results andanalysis is Ferdinand de Saussure, Charles S. Peirce and Roland Barthes' theories in semioticsand the theory of signs, as well as Leon Festinger's theory of social comparison. The methodsapplied to the study is a semiotic image analysis using a deductive approach. The semioticimage analysis is used primarily according to identified body concepts, in parallel with theanalysis tools denotation and connotation. The semiotic tools index, icon and symbol have alsobeen used in the study for a deeper analysis. The analysis showed how the thin ideal expressed itself on Instagram. The pictures portrayedsigns of the thin ideal, examples of these signs are protruding ribs, thin thighs and collarbones.The myth of the normative body was also revealed as a social message and the images suggesta conscious body focus to promote the thin ideal. The results of the study also demonstratedhow an increased knowledge of how ideals are communicated is needed to understand theproblem with the influence of the thin body ideal, in the form of social comparison andinternalization, which can then lead to an eating disorder problem.

The essay compares Madeline Miller's books The Song of Achilles and Circe to their antique originals: the Iliad and the Odyssey. The main focus is the relationship the characters in Miller's books hold to their homeric counterparts and the evolution of the heroic and masculinity ideals they represent. The ideals they carry are examined through western history and compared to Miller's contemporary autorship to observe what adaptations are being performed. The paper considers the texts through Genettes terms of transtextual relationships, including hypotextual, hypertextual relationships and transpositioning to examine the changes in both character and theme. The results show that some aspects of the heroes and theme remain intact through Millers books, while particularly the masculine and heroic aspects differ and that they do so intentionally through the media of historical fiction.

Polyominoes are two-dimensional objects obtained by joining edge by edge squares of same size. Originally, polyominoes appeared in mathematical recreations, but it turned out that they have applications in various fields, for example, theoretical physics and bio-informatics. Among the most popular topics in combinatorics related to polyominoes one finds enumerating polyominoes of given size, including the asymptotic growth of the numbers of polyominoes, tiling problems, and reconstruction of polyominoes. Recently Qureshi introduced a binomial ideal induced by the geometry of a given polyomino, called polyomino ideal, and its related algebra. From that moment different authors studied algebraic properties and invariants related to this ideal, such as primality, Gröbner bases, Gorensteinnes and Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity. In this thesis, we provide an overview on the results that we obtained about polyomino ideals and its related algebra. In the first part of the thesis, we discuss questions about the primality and the Gröbner bases of the polyomino ideal. In the second part of the thesis, we talk over the Castelnuovo-Mumford regularity, Hilbert series, and Gorensteinnes of the polyomino ideal and its coordinate ring.
