Klient pro zobrazování OLAP kostek / Client for Displaying OLAP Cubes

Podsedník, Lukáš January 2010 (has links)
At the beginning, the project describes basics and utilization of data warehousing and OLAP techniques and operations used within the data warehouses. Then follows a description of one of the commercial OLAP client - based on the features of this product the requirement analysis of the freeware OLAP cube client displayer is desribed - choosing the functionality to be implemented in the client. Using the requirement analysis the structural design of the application (including UML diagrams) is made. The best solution from compared libraries, frameworks and development environments is chosen for the design. Next chapter is about implementation and tools and frameworks used in implemetation. At the end the thesis clasifies the reached results and options for further improvement.

IDE-based learning analytics for assessing introductory programming skill

Beck, Phyllis J. 08 August 2023 (has links) (PDF)
Providing a sufficient level of personalized feedback on students' current level of strategic knowledge within the context of the natural programming environment through IDE-based learning analytics would transform learning outcomes for introductory programming students. However, providing sufficient insight into the programming process was previously inaccessible due to the need for more complex and scalable data collection methods and metrics with a wider variety for understanding programming metacognition and the full programming process. This research developed a custom-built web-based IDE and event compression system to investigate two of the five components of a five-dimensional model of cognition for programming skill estimation (1) Design Cohesion and (2) Development Path over Time. The IDE captured students' programming process data for 25 participants, where each participated in two programming sessions that required both a design and code phase. For Design Cohesion, the alignment between flowchart design and source code implementation was investigated and manually classified. The classification process produced three Design Cohesion metrics: Design Cohesion Level, Granularity Level, and Granularity Score. The relationship between programming skill and Design Cohesion was explored using the newly developed metrics and a case-study approach. For the Development Path over Time, the compressed programming events were used to create a Timeline of Events for each participant, which was manually examined for distinct clusters of programming patterns and behavior such as execution behavior and debugging patterns. Custom visualizations were developed to display the timelines. Then, the timelines were used to compare programming behaviors for participants with different programming skill levels. The results of the investigation into Design Cohesion and Development Path Over Time contribute to the fundamental understanding of differences between beginner, intermediate, and advanced programmers and the context in which specific programming difficulties arise. This work produced insight into students' programming processes that can be used to advance the model of cognition for programming skill estimation and provide personalized feedback to support the development of programming skills and expertise. Additionally, this research produced tools and metrics that can be used in future studies examining programming metacognition.

Controle eletrônico das etapas do processo de planejamento de pacientes em radioterapia / Electronic control of the steps of the planning process of patients in radiotherapy

Brito, Carlos de 20 October 2017 (has links)
In Brazilian radiotherapy departments there is a pressing need for systematization of processes, that even today with the access of information technology is performed manually. The control of the patients in radiotherapy planning with the data of all the steps of the process are inserted in a physical board as they are executed. These data consist of scheduling since the planning tomography until the release of the patient for the treatment. The objective of this study is the development of a software for electronic control of patients in radiotherapy planning process, replacing the physical board currently used. The requirements for the elicitation technique was used for this study, which results in a requirements document that serves as the basis for modeling the system through UML diagrams and conceptual modeling of the MySql database and after using the relational object mapping technique (MOR). The data consistency allows secure and reliable access to these data, facilitates the collection of statistical data and streamlines the planning process, this consistent statistics allow the identification of limitation in the process and faster resolution. The result of this study is a software and database that integrates all the information of the radiotherapy planning process.

It is believed that the expression of this protein denotes metabolic demand of the tumor cells and, thus its influence upon the formation of new blood vessels. Pleomorphic adenoma (PA) and the adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) and mucoepidermoid carcinoma (MEC) represent, respectively, the most commom benign and malignant tumors of salivary glands. The aim of this study was to analyze and compare the immunohistochemical expression of GLUT-1 and its correlation with angiogenesis in cases of PAs, ACCs and MECs considering their histological grades. The sample consisted of 20 PAs, 20 ACCs and 10 MECs. The cases were analyzed and classified according to their histological grades. The expression of GLUT-1 was evaluated in the parenchyma lesions, establishing the percentage of immunopositive cells, according to the following scores: 0 (no cell immunomarked), 1 (up to 25% of tumor cells immunostained), 2 (25 - 50% of tumor cells immunostained) and 3 (more than 50% of tumor cells immunostained). The angiogenic index was analyzed by counting the microvessels immunostained by anti-CD34 antibody, in 5 fields (200X). The analysis of the expression of GLUT-1 in tumor parenchyma showed statistically significant differences between benign and malignant groups (p = 0.022). The average number of microvessels in PAs was 40.4, 21.2 in ACCs and 66.5 in MECs, with significant differences between groups (p <0.001). When compared to the expression of GLUT-1 and angiogenic index as a whole, there was no significant correlation between the number of microvessels and the expression of GLUT-1 (r = 0.211, p = 0.141). In conclusion, the results of this study suggest not only that differences in biological behavior between PAs, ACCs and MECs may be associated to the expression of GLUT-1, but also that benign and malignant salivary gland present differences in the average number of microvessels, with higher levels considered more aggressive tumors. Furthermore, the number of newly formed microvessels can be independent of the metabolic demand of the tumor cells / A express?o da prote?na transportadora de glicose tipo 1 (GLUT-1), bem como a angiog?nese, t?m sido relacionadas ao comportamento cl?nico e agressividade em neoplasias de origem diversas.

Les deux formes d' IDE et l'investissement productif : l'impact du taux de change réel / The Two Forms of FDI and Productive Investment : the Impact of the Real Exchange Rate

Prost, Benjamin de 12 December 2012 (has links)
In this work, we analyze and compare locational behavior of three forms of durable investments (greenfields, foreign direct investments, and internal productive investments). Among a group of determinants, mainly inspired by the existing empirical literature, we study more particularly the role played by the real exchange rate on countries' attractiveness towards each of those investments. Panel data econometrics is used for this study. We test a basis model on greenfields, total FDIs, and on productive investments – with specifications adapted to each case – and then analyze the results, particularly when they show differences. In order to proxy the dependent variables, we use the UNCTAD and the OECD's data series, as well as the FDI Markets (Financial Times) and the European Investment Monitor (Ernst & Young) which have somehow been ignored by the studies on the subject until now. Several samples (global, European and OECD) and several periods (2004-2010, 1998-2010 and 1995-2010) are analyzed depending on data availability. Our results prove that greenfields, total FDIs (and mergers and acquisitions by deduction), and productive investments respond to different location criteria according to their characteristics. In particular, the impact of the real exchange rate on each of those investments is very interesting. While low relative prices attract significantly productive investments, financed by domestic or foreign multinational companies (greenfields), they don't seem to have any impact on mergers and acquisitions (deduced from total FDIs).

Essays on the Impact of Foreign Direct Investments in Africa / Essais sur l'impact des investissements directs étrangers en Afrique

Gui-Diby, Steve Loris 26 January 2016 (has links)
The objective of this thesis is to analyze the impact of foreign direct investment (FDI) inflows towards Africa on economic growth, industrialization, and technological transfer. Analyses aiming at studying the nexuses FDI-economic growth and FDI-industrialization are based on macroeconomic data from respectively 50 and 49 African countries observed during the period from 1980 to 2009; and analyses on FDI related technological spillovers are based on Kenyan firm-level data observed in the manufacturing sector during the period 2012/2013. Concerning the FDI-economic growth nexus, it is found that FDI inflows had a significant impact on economic growth in the African region during the period of interest. It also finds that while the low level of human resources did not limit the impact of FDI, and that the impact of FDI on economic growth was negative or non-significant during the period from 1980 to 1994 and positive during the period from 1995 to 2009. The results indicate that FDI most likely did not have a significant impact on the industrialization of African countries. Concerning the existence of FDI-related technological transfer, it is found that FDI inflows did not spur innovation in local firms competing against multinational firms.

The Distributed Software Development (DSD) is a development model that has been intensified in recent years. Also known as Global Software Development (GSD), this development model is done by teams in different geographical locations. Among the factors that have contributed to this increase, there is the corporations business need of seeking ways to reduce costs, seeking skilled resources and having a global presence. In other cases, it is due to the emergence of new movements in software development, such as the free software community, a successful example of DSD. Despite the need or even desirability of developing software in a distributed way, it is extremely difficult to do this successfully. Physical separation has a number of interesting problems and challenges that are just beginning to be understood: strategic issues, cultural issues, inadequate communication, knowledge management, task allocation, trust, technical issues, among others. DSD has changed much of the tradition of software development since it appeared. Organizations cannot rely on the same skills and software engineering technologies used internally to maintain this new market. In this way, this work aims to help to reduce the problems and difficulties brought by this type of development, through the implementation of a software development environment whose tools were defined based on studies related to the topic.
