Leptin is expressed hormone mainly in the adipocytes and involved in the regulation of energy metabolism, fat deposition, regulation of glycemia and reproductive physiology and thus has been investigated in association studies quality carcass characteristics and meat in different species. Objective with this work identify the polymorphism in the Leptin gene, changes in qualitative and quantitative characteristics of meat and goat carcass and relate variations of productive features to potential polymorphisms. They were used for genotyping 38 goats intact males, 21 Saanen and 17 crusaders Boer x Saanen. Genotypes for the marker were identified by PCR-RFLP technique based on standardized protocols for SNP305. DNA samples were isolated from leukocyte genomic and amplified through reaction technique Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). The generated PCR fragments of 94 base pairs (bp) were digested by Kpn2I enzyme yielding two fragments 75 (bp), 19 (bp) for all individuals analyzed, obtaining allelic frequency of 100% for T. Thus genotype, it was not possible to correlate the results obtained in the evaluation of quality meat and carcass to the results of the molecular study. For the evaluation of carcass quality and meat was used 18 male, 9 Saanen and Saanen x 9 crusaders Boer. t test was used for independent samples of the statistical program BioEstat the 5% significance (P<0.05) for morphometric measurements, live weight, live weight after fasting, hot carcass weight, cold carcass weight, cooling breaks, carcass yield, loss of cooling, thick fat cover, color, pH, water holding capacity and tenderness of the meat, weight and yield cuts (shoulder, hand saw, rib set, ham and loin) and compactness index of carcass. The grouping of the Crusaders animals showed significant differences (P<0.05) for wide shank and shear force. For Saanen animals, there was a significant difference (P<0.05) for the external length of the housing. Although Crossed have shown higher shear strength values (P<0.05), the two groups had average below 5.4 kg-f cm-?, featuring soft meats in goats (2.20 and 1, 57 kg f cm-2 for Crossed and Saanen, respectively). The results showed that the use of both the Crusaders animals, as the Saanen animals are a viable option for dairy farmers who wish to diversify their activities, taking advantage of the disposal of male goats for meat production / Os marcadores moleculares s?o importantes ferramentas nos programas de sele??o assistida por marcadores (MAS). Objetiva-se com este trabalho identificar o polimorfismo no gene da Leptina, as varia??es nas caracter?sticas qualitativas e quantitativas da carne e da carca?a de caprinos e relacionar as varia??es das caracter?sticas produtivas a poss?veis polimorfismos. Foram utilizados para a genotipagem 38 cabritos machos inteiros, sendo 21 Saanen e 17 Cruzados Saanen x Boer. Os gen?tipos para o marcador foram identificados pela t?cnica de PCR-RFLP com base nos protocolos padronizados para o SNP305. Foram isoladas amostras de DNA gen?mico a partir de leuc?citos e amplificados por interm?dio da t?cnica de Rea??o em Cadeia de Polimerase (PCR). A PCR gerou fragmentos de 94 pares de bases (pb) que foram digeridos pela enzima Kpn2I, originando dois fragmentos de 75 (pb) e 19 (pb) para todos os indiv?duos analisados, obtendo frequ?ncia al?lica de 100% para o gen?tipo T. Dessa forma, n?o foi poss?vel correlacionar os resultados obtidos na avalia??o de qualidade de carne e carca?a aos resultados obtidos no estudo molecular. Para a avalia??o de qualidade de carca?a e carne foram utilizados 18 machos inteiros, 9 Saanen e 9 Cruzados Saanen x Boer. Foi aplicado o teste t para amostras independentes do programa estat?stico BioEstat a 5% de signific?ncia (P<0,05) para as medidas morfom?tricas, peso vivo, peso vivo ap?s jejum, peso de carca?a quente, peso de carca?a fria, quebra de resfriamento, rendimentos de carca?a, perda por resfriamento, espessura de gordura de cobertura, cor, pH, capacidade de reten??o de ?gua e maciez da carne, peso e rendimento de cortes (paleta, serrote, carr?, pernil e lombo) e ?ndice de compacidade da carca?a. O grupamento dos animais Cruzados apresentou diferen?as significativas (P<0,05) para largura de pernil e for?a de cisalhamento. Para os animais Saanen, houve diferen?a significativa (P<0,05) para o comprimento externo da carca?a. Embora os Cruzados tenham apresentado maiores valores de for?a de cisalhamento (P<0,05), os dois grupos obtiveram m?dias abaixo de 5,4 kg-f cm-2, o que caracteriza carnes macias em caprinos (2,20 e 1,57 kg-f cm-2 para Cruzados e Saanen, respectivamente). Os resultados mostraram que a utiliza??o tanto dos animais Cruzados, quanto dos animais Saanen s?o uma op??o vi?vel aos produtores de leite que desejam diversificar as atividades, aproveitando os cabritos machos de descarte para a produ??o de carne

Kändisar är vår tids kungligheter. Vi ser upp till dem såsom man in tidigare feodala samhällen såg upp till den härskande familjen. Oavsett om vi vill det eller inte är de våra förebilder och idoler. Tack vare internet och det ökande antalet möjligheter att publicera sig kan fler och fler kalla sig just kändisar. Men så har det inte varit. Tidigare krävdes det att ”man var någon” för att bli inbjuden till de semi-offentliga sammanhangen som bevakades av featurejournalister. Enligt sociologiprofessorn Ellis Cashmore som har studerat kändisar har de ett enda tydligt syfte: att sälja en produkt eller en idé. Med hjälp av kändisjournalisten Kid Severins texter i tidningen Vecko-Journalen studeras hur kända människor (re)producerar idén om genus. Texterna, som finns under vinjetten Post &amp; Inrikes, är publicerade mellan 1953 och 1980, där Severin var redaktör och skribent. Som teoretiska utgångspunkter används hermeneutikern Paul Ricoeurs idéer om texten som diskurs och som bärare av kulturella föreställningar. Metoderna som används i analysen är två: dels har de adjektiv som beskriver kvinnor och män plockats ut ur texterna, dels har texterna närlästs med hjälp av en retorisk analys flera gånger och sedan ”satts ihop” igen för att fånga hela textens kontext. Texten har sedan tolkats utifrån den hermeneutiska cirkeln där delen och helheten står i fokus. Med hjälp av en retorisk textanalys är syftet att få fram vad texten vill förmedla till läsaren. Resultaten har sedan jämförts över tid. De visar att kvinnor i texterna genomgående beskrivs på två sätt: som fru eller som skönhetsobjekt. Det sker en förskjutning av synen på kvinnan på 70-talet, då kvinnor även kan beskrivas som yrkespersoner. Män beskrivs genomgående genom sina sociala identiteter, det vill säga via sina titlar. De kan exempelvis vara kungar, docenter eller professorer. Förskjutningen av mansrollen kommer något senare, på 80-talet, då män, förutom att vara sitt yrke, också beskrivs som pappor. Slutsatsen av studien är att framför allt är skribentens syn på manligt och kvinnligt som (re)produceras. Hennes idéer om genus är det som läsaren antas hålla med om. Läsarna antas vara en homogen grupp, en samling likasinnade som också tycker att det är eftersträvansvärt att kvinnor är vackra medan män ska ha makt samt vara fysiskt starka.

Abstract in English Family has been the most original economic unit for over 40000 years. However, in the past 30 years family system, population structure, marriage relation, women¡¦s role have been changed. Although marriage has been an important matter since ancient years till today, there are many potential differences between now and then especially in the past 30 years. The structural changes such as external marriage affair, competition between wife and concubine under the wife-concubine system, increasing rate of divorce, and unsymmetrical relation in the essence of marriage can not be simply described or judged right or wrong. Such changes can only be described as a life style, which also is a social culture. However, the increasing impact of such changes cannot be disregarded. This study of this article is on the main axis of marriage system. The article wishes to clarify Chinese marriage system in the past and today from economic perspective and to realize that Chinese marriage system is a collusive structure that has created endless war in a family. On the other hand, this article adopts information asymmetric to interpret matchmaker system that has created many unharmonious couple in the situation that information was not so symmetrical, which explain to us the revenge behavior accounts for the end of marriage relationship. Finally, this article employs economic model in inframarginal analysis and believes there exists many internal-deal expenses in marriage. The modal was further employed to prove that efficiency of matchmaker¡¦s word is higher than free love. In the same time, this article derived that the high expense coefficient of external marriage affair explains why general people are unwilling to try and the employ law to protect. O desenvolvimento analítico, então, busca compreender a natureza destes personagens principais em duas etapas: primeiramente, os protagonistas foram observados em seu lugar no texto fílmico; posteriormente, comparamos os achados da análise das obras entre si e também em relação a modelos já estabelecidos de heróis, na tentativa de encontrar similitudes e diferenças. Antes mesmo da consolidação de nossa hipótese fundamental, ambas as obras foram analisadas em sua imanência, interpretadas dentro de seus limites de texto; para tal, utilizamos a matriz metodológica da Poética do Cinema. A hipótese que introduz este resumo é resultado, a priori, da apreciação dos filmes, e foi ganhando forma por meio da leitura do referencial teórico acerca dos temas do herói e do Cinema Marginal. / This dissertation hypothesizes that the poetics of the films of our analytic corpus—Meteorango Kid -Herói Intergalácticoand Superoutro—establishes distinct relations with the notion of classic hero—especially relations of denial, reappropriation and resignification —, leaning towards the construction of anti-heroes. The analytical process, therefore, aims to understand the nature of those main characters in two steps: first, by observing the protagonists in its place in the film text;later, by comparing the findings of the analysis of the filmsto each other and also in relation to prior models of heroes in an attempt to find similarities and differences. Even before the consolidation of our main hypothesis, both films were analyzedimmanently, interpreted within their limits of text; for this, we use the methodological matrix founded by Professor Wilson Gomes called Poética do Cinema. The hypothesis that introduces this abstract is the result, a priori, of watching the movies, and was shaped by the reading of the published works on the issues of the hero and of the Cinema Marginal.

abstract: This study aims to deepen the understanding of how Third Culture Kids (TCKs) receive and maintain long-term perceptions of positive identity. The literature review surveys bodies of research related to Third Culture Kids, intercultural communication conceptions of identity, and communication strategies of identity management. The research framework is a response to Martin and Nakayama’s (2010) call for a dialectical approach to the study of intercultural communication, and reflects an interpretive/critical/activist dialectic paradigm. This qualitative multi-method research project gathered survey, interview, and visual data through online platforms. Participants were TCKs over age 40 who self-selected as having a positive identity. A modified grounded analysis revealed several key findings connected to agency development, choice making, communication filters, and framing of positivity. Factors contributing to characteristics of a positive identity included sending organization, total number and frequency of moves, and degrees of difference among their cultural contexts. / Dissertation/Thesis / Doctoral Dissertation Communication 2016

In fulfillment of my degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Central Florida specializing in sculpture and ceramics, I have produced a body of artwork in a range of media, including printmaking, bookbinding, painting, ceramics, and sculpture. This thesis is the exegesis of my creative work, informed by contemporary artworks and the study of shelter-making in nature. Utilizing The Practitioner Model of Creative Cognition as defined by R. Lyle Skains, I will establish my work as practice-based research. While "exegesis" generally refers to the critical examination of written work, I feel it is appropriate in this context as I view my work as a visual diary conveying the narrative of my lifelong search for meaning. I draw from familiar sensations, memories, spiritual practices, and nostalgic memorabilia in my creative practice, utilizing various media to produce tangible representations of home, exploring whether these liminal spaces can provide the sense of shelter and belonging I seek.
