Learning evalution in a high school concerning the official speech and the teaching practice (study case made in a state public school)

Sandra Maria Coelho de Oliveira 23 June 2006 (has links)
The present study had as general goal analyze the outcome of the official proposals related to the teaching practices on the learning process evaluation encompassing the basic procedures of State Schools, which were set up in the years 2000 and 2004 by the Basic Education Bureau of Cearà â SEDUC. Its aim was to identify the concepts of learning acquisition which support the teaching practice; identify whether or not the teachers are aware of the theoretical evaluation proposals set up by SEDUC; identify the teachersâ reactions to these proposals and, observe whether or not the means and procedures of evaluation followed by the teachers correspond to the ones set up by SEDUC. A lot of studies have been developed on this subject, where there is a rich theoretical development of research and studies. However, what call our attention is the division between the output and the classroom practice. If the theoretical research has been developed, being the support for the creation of new evaluation proposals for public schools set up by SEDUC, why does its practice keep repeating myths and ideas which have already been considered old-fashioned or theoretically contested? People believe that the assessment evaluation encompasses more than a technical discussion. It demands a political discussion about the educational goals, since the evaluation is a powerful tool not only in the reorganization of the Brazilian Education, but also as a tool for the enhancement of the learner and the teacher, integrated in the teaching-learning process. A qualitative-quantitative research was developed, as a case-study having 13 subjects as participants (9 teachers of secondary schools and 2 supervisors from E.E.F.M. JoÃo Mattos, a technician from SEDUC and a technician from CREDE de Fortaleza) during the year of 2005. The aim was to collect their ideas about the outcome of these proposals among teachers. First, they answered some questionnaires followed by semi-structured interviews with all subjects. The results show that there is still a tendency of reducing the evaluation procedures and also the tendency of being resistant to the evaluation proposal of 2000 and the acceptance of the2004âs proposal. The results also show that changes related to the assessment evaluation field should be qualified not only in relation to the making of these transformations but also in relation to material conditions in order to avoid the failure of only focusing on the immediate, pragmatic and, out of context technical improvement. Thus, the way to overcome the resistance to the construction of new evaluative practices, which should be implemented in our everyday school system, should take into consideration not only the teachers as subjects of creation, seen as mere doers, building spaces for their improvement, but allowing the theoretical-practical dialogue to give a new meaning to the evaluation practice; but also guarantee adequate work atmosphere making teachers able to develop in a democratic and conscious way the actions which may shed light on the improvement of the teaching-learning process as a result of an evaluative and instructive process practice.

AvaliaÃÃo da aprendizagem de alunos com deficiÃncia: estudo documental das diretrizes oficiais / Evaluation of the learning of pupils with deficiency: documentary study of the official lines of direction

Tereza Liduina GrigÃrio Fernandes 23 April 2010 (has links)
The present study aimed to investigate, in documents from Brazilian Ministry of Education, guidelines regarding the learning evaluation of students with disability registered in Regular Education. Specifically, aimed to identify the conception of learning evaluation officially recommended for those students as well as recognize the evaluation strategies according to a proposal of Inclusive Education. Historically, a gradual evolution is verified from exclusion and segregation to the socioeducacional inclusion of people with disability. After political, social and educational pressures, countless legal measures were elaborated, national and internationally, to assure the fundamental right to education for those people. The Education constitutes an indispensable way to combat inequality and to promote the social and education inclusion of people with disability. For students with disability, the learning evaluation presents complex characteristics, because of their specificities. The inexistence of an appropriate evaluation collaborates to validate prejudices against that population. The main purpose of the learning evaluation should consist of analyzing the potentialities of development and learning of the students with disability, thinking about the necessary education resources in benefit of their learning. In that sense, it was proceeded a research of documental nature, and the object of study was constituted by documents of national expression in the area of Inclusive Education, with circulation among teachers and searchers of the subject. Therefore, publications of the Collection Saberes e PrÃticas da InclusÃo and InclusÃo: Revista da EducaÃÃo Especial, organized for the General Office of Special Education with support of Brazilian Ministry of Education, from 2005 to 2008, were analyzed. The content analysis accomplished identified the following themes: i) models of learning evaluation; ii) objectives of learning evaluation; iii) planning of the evaluation; iv) evaluation instruments. The investigated official documents present a general proposal about evaluation strategies for Inclusive Education, although they emphasize actions for deaf people and people with intellectual disability. They consider the formative evaluation the most appropriate model for the learning evaluation of people with disability in Inclusive Education.

The learning evaluation for disabled students: a case study in a Public Institute of Higher Education in Fortaleza-CearÃ

The learning evaluation for disabled students is a pedagogic element of great importance; it can aid or raise difficulties for these studentsâ educational inclusion. The inclusive avaluation must be prospective, accomplishing a diagnosis of the disabled studentsâ emerging cognitive conditions. Therefore, it should not be limited to the verification of their acquired capacities. That type of superficial evaluation seems to be harmful, because it can decrease the expectations of the professionals of Education, especially the teacher or professor, regarding that specific group. The educational inclusion of disabled students becomes, as a result, a challenge, because the daily practices of all the teaching levels are still very influenced by traditional conceptions of evaluation that exclude those students with differentiated ways of learning and living. The main purpose of the current research is to accomplish an investigation about the practice of learning evaluation for disabled students registered in graduate and postgraduate level courses of humanities and educational areas in a Public Institute of Higher Education. Specifically, this study aimed: i) knowing the difficulties lived by students, professors and coordinators regarding learning evaluation for disabled students; ii) identifying the accessibility conditions concerning the practices of learning evaluation; iii) gathering contributions of students, professors and coordinators for an inclusive practice of learning evaluation. Thus, a qualitative research was accomplished, as a case study. The semi-structured interview and the questionnaire were used as instruments for data collection. A content analysis of the collected data was accomplished. The sample was composed by: nine disabled students; seven graduate level courseâs coordinators and nineteen professors; thirty five subjects altogether. The results revealed that the adaptations accomplished to evaluate the disabled student are still insufficient. The difficulties refer to an inadequate professor educational, to the lack of physical and structural adaptation and the absence of a larger discussion on the theme. The suggestions point to the importance of investment in material and human resources and the adaptation of physical spaces.

Such tematic aims to analyse these teachers’ enunciations related to the aspects of this critical point of the education process. The general objective was to search for the comprehension through the analysis along with the bakhtinian notions of Dialogism, Polyphony and Heteroglossia. The specific objectives were: to detach the evaluation’s concepts and Physical Education of the statements; to verify the procedures adopted by the Physical Education teachers on the accomplishment of the learning evaluation; and to apprehend the teachers’ perception about the importance of the Physical Education on the general development of the students. A research was made in order to accomplish the proposed objectives, oriented by the bakhtinian perspective of language (and by other theoreticians that broach the same subject), such as Aranha (2007), Bakhtin (2003), Bakhtin/Volochinov (2004), Fiorin (2003 e 2006) and Brait (2007, 2008 and 2009), besides being oriented by other theoreticians that deal with Physical Education and school evaluation: Soares et all (2009), Darido (2008; 2012 e 2014), Luckesi (2002) and Castellani Filho (2001). Meanwhile, the instruments used for the research were semistructured interviews and to help on the analysis was used Bardin (2009). All the 17 Physical Education teachers who work on Assis Chateaubriand city were interviewed in March and April, 2014. After the analysis of the enunciations obtained with the interview guide, it was possible to realize the voices that interpenetrate these teachers’ speeches. Voices that shape the pedagogical practice of the teachers and that are a result of a whole historical process made from their academic background, from difficulties faced at schools, from the relationship with their pairs, etc. Trying to visualize this perspective allowed pointing out that this subject that teaches Physical Education seems not to be properly prepared, in other words, it lacks both theorical and practical knowledge / Esta dissertação tem como objeto de estudo o processo de avaliação da aprendizagem realizada pelos professores da disciplina de Educação Física – Anos Iniciais – no município de Assis Chateaubriand.

O ensino de artes na educação básica em tempos de avaliação educacional: um estudo de caso em uma escola pública estadual paulista / The teaching of arts in basic education in times of educational evaluation: a case study in a public state school of São Paulo.

Marisa Ribeiro da Silva Pardini 27 August 2010 (has links)
The presence of arts education in school curriculum in Brazil has historically many weaknesses and has changed over time. From the 90 educational evaluations have occupied central place in education reforms, with great impact on the organization of the pedagogical work developed in Brazilian schools. In this context, to identify and understand these changes were defined as goals of this research: to investigate the assessment practices of teachers of Arts; analyze regarding the evaluation process in the Arts area, know and analyze the implicit theories that underlie the teaching, research beliefs and values that underlie the assessment practices, identify the difficulties encountered by teachers and how they are addressed. The methodology used was an ethnographic case study. The survey was conducted in an elementary school within the State of São Paulo. The research participants were two teachers effective for Arts, education supervision, management and employees. The procedures for data collection were participant observation, document analysis and semi-structured interview. These analysis showed that the teaching of Art presents itself as a hybrid practice, where teachers now prioritize the technique, expression and knowledge. Is characterizing as a field of knowledge to support and boost performance in other subjects more valued in order to obtain greater academic performance in the process of external evaluation.

Organização do ensino em ciclos e práticas avaliativas no ensino fundamental: um estudo em uma escola pública estadual paulista / Organization of the education in cycles and evaluative practices in the middle school: a study in a public state school of São Paulo.

Daniela Cristina Bruno Sato 05 October 2007 (has links)
When the National Law of Education Directives and Base lines 9394/96, proposes the organization of education in cycles and the regime of continued progression, it introduces importante changes in the education systems and in the evaluation practices adopted by the Brazilian schools. In the State of São Paulo, all the group of schools are under this way of organization since 1998. Based on these statements, it was possible to define the research objectives: investigating together with the pedagogical team, teachers and employees, the conceptions and practices associated to the organization of education in cycles; which values are in the evaluative practices and constitute the evaluative ambiance of the classroom; which relation it is possible to identify between the school ethos and the evaluative practices; which difficulties may be identified in this relation and how they are eventually overcome. The research was done in a public state school of São Paulo, in the middle school level, the participants were teachers, pedagogical team and employees. According to the proposed objectives, it was adopted the qualitative research, as a methodological and theoretical reference. The research procedures involved: observation, interviews and document analysis. The data analysis allowed to conclude that: the conception of cycles is polissemic and most of the times inexact, predominating, the conception of opposition over the serial system and dilatation/flexibility of time, there are movements of resistance and adaptation to the non-serial system as well to the non-repproval; structure difficulties related to working conditions make it difficult to have an effective practice of evaluation, processual and formative.

O sentido da avaliação para o enfermeiro professor: Uma análise compreensiva da ação social / The meaning of evaluation for the nursing teacher: An understanding analysis of social action

Elaine Cristina Mendes Marques 22 June 2012 (has links)
The teachers task in the evaluation process has shown how much this activity is motivating and at the same time challenging. Schools present different ways of looking at evaluation practices, which are found to be linked to their culture, their teaching plans and the experiences from each teacher, and at the same time, all of those involved in them. This study sought to know and understand the meaning of evaluation for a nursing teacher of a nursing professional high school course. Its a qualitative research that used as theoretical and methodological referential the Social Phenomenology approach by Alfred Schütz. For developing this study, semi-structured interviews with twelve nursing teachers who faced the evaluation of a nursing professional high school course were made. Discourse analysis led to build concrete categories that expressed the reasons why and the reasons for social action. The categories were: relationship among teaching, teacher and student; theory and practice relationship; ways of evaluating and subjectivity in the evaluation process; professionalization; qualifying the evaluation view and the compromise with self-evaluation. This analysis made it possible to identify the living kind nursing teacher who lives in his or her school routine the students evaluation in the context of forming the nursing technician, as it embraces the feeling of concerning by the way schools have evaluated students; socializing with their peers the distress of evaluating and sharing positive experiences; searching for chances of dialogues with freedom of speech and greater welcoming in their school work and evaluating the work itself represented by their living experiences in a world full of evaluation. This study revealed that there is a great need of evaluation to be positive for both the student and the teacher. And also as a teacher, its necessary to reflect on evaluation as a process and not just as a result. Teachers focused that, by having awareness of a formation evaluation, integrated with basis on the dialectic methodological assumptions, makes sense to the development of their educational practices

A utilização do processo de avaliação on-line como apoio ao ensino presencial: desenvolvimento e análise junto ao laboratório virtual de estatística aplicada à administração - LaViE / Online evaluation process used as support to presencial teaching : development and analysis at the virtual laboratory of statistics applied to business management - LaViE

Érica Ferreira Marques 16 April 2007 (has links)
The mathematical knowledge involved in the process of learning statistics and its applications, brings about difficulties to the Humanities department students, thus making it a challenge not only to those who teach it but also to the ones who learn it. Therefore, this work aims at showing the contribution the elaboration and development of a tool such as an online evaluation test can give, as a support to the presencial teaching of the study of multivariate statistical resources, to the FEARP/USP Business Management undergraduate students, registered in Applied Statistics to Business Management II. This study is part of a virtual project named LaViE which is a virtual environment of teaching-learning of Statistics based on three dimensions: Virtual Pedagogy, Communication Technology and Validation Process. For the development and implementation of the online evaluation test in the LaViE project, a protocol was elaborated. The methodology involved is based on three phases: 1) protocol production built on the virtual pedagogy exploratory research founded on the theory concerning the teaching-learning process in order to develop a set of rules and measures which support the creation of online test problems presenting different levels of adaptation for each module of the mentioned discipline. Thus, three levels of adaptation were created: basic (I), intermediate (II), and advanced (III); 2) implementation of such evaluation tool in the LaViE project (test your knowledge) by developing questions based on topics about multivariate statistical analysis; 3) quantitative evaluation of the users? opinion as to the usability of the ?test your knowledge? system. Data were collected in two distinct occasions: second semester of 2005, as a pilot project, and second semester of 2006, what enabled a comparative analysis of the system by the users at two different moments. This survey was conducted by means of two questionnaires completed in class by the students, being the first before the presencial discipline evaluation, and the second immediately after it. At the completion of the three phases previously mentioned, the Validation Process was obtained.

Graad elf biologie-leerlinge se konsepsies van leer

Lotz, Lynette 05 September 2012 (has links)
M.Ed. / The purpose of this study was to investigate grade eleven Biology learners' conceptions of what academic learning in the school situation is, and how learning takes place in general and particularly in Biology. Educational phychologists, remedial educators, primary and secondary school educators, parents and learners are often confronted by the question: How do learners learn? Berry and Sahlberg (1996:20) argue that to be able to learn how to learn, learners should have some basic conceptual understanding of the answer to the question: What do we mean by learning? As a result of the excessive emphasis on rote learning and memorization, which seems to be a general practice in most South African schools, this study argues that learners' conceptions of learning (what learning is and how learning takes place) could be a contributing factor to the problematic nature of learning of natural sciences. Learners often experience difficulties with learning and studying. Common experience suggests that many attempts to assist learners to learn how to learn, fail. This may be ascribed to a variety of factors, one of which could be the learners' conception of what learning is and how they learn (Wood, 1988:75). In-depth, semi-structured individual interviews were used as the primary source of data collection and naïve sketches were used as an additional source. In this study, the approach that was followed for data analysis was mainly based upon the constant comparative method suggested by Maykut and Morehouse (1994:124-148). From the analysis of the data 21 categories were identified from which five main patterns (A to E) evolved, as indicated, each consisting of a number of categories. Pattern A: Conceptions of learning are interrelated and interdependent and appear to be on a continuum. In this study, scholastic academic learning was conceptualized as: prior knowledge, knowledge, rote learning, memorization and application. Pattern B: Learning is a complex and domain-specific process, implying that different subjects or learning areas should be learned differently. Pattern C: Learning is strategic. Pattern D: Perceptions of instructional context and evaluation requirements influence learning. Pattern E: Learning and studying are of a personal and idiosyncratic nature. iv.The implications of the findings can be summarized as follows: It is of the utmost importance that educators provide opportunities for learners to discuss their own conceptions/perceptions of learning in terms of learning in general and learning of specific subjects. This dialogue will assist learners to reflect on and become aware of their learning strategies, as well as their deficiencies and needs, therein. It is my contention that learners' conceptions/perceptions of what learning is and how they learn should initially be utilized in any intervention, which is meant to assist and guide learners to learn-how-to-learn. It is the fundamental responsibility of educators to guide individual learners to learn how to learn, utilizing subject specific metacognitive learning or study strategies, integrated with the subject content. Therefore, it is important that educators should assist learners to understand that learning Biology entails more than mere memorization and that it should not be seen merely as a learning subject.
