VINAŘSKÝ DŮM NIKOLSBURG MIKULOV / WINE HOUSE NIKOLSBURG MIKULOV

Valová, Markéta January 2020 (has links)
The topic of this diploma thesis was to design a winery house in the open landscape in a traditional wine landscape of Mikulov. The designed building serves as a four stars hotel with apartment rooms, restaurant, wellness, wine shop and a small wine farm with a storage of wine. There are unique views to the Mikulov city, Turold hill and surounding vineyards. The longitudinal axe is oriented on northeast–southwest. Majority of rooms, terraces and both atriums are directed on prospective axes. The object has one basement and three groundfloors. It is (situated) into the sloping terrain and constrasts with the wavy landscape of Mikulov for its racional and linear conception. It is inspired by terracced formations in near suroundings and uses it for its mass as well. It creates a new landscape dominant that remainds the geological formation of limestone situated in the surroundings of the Mikulov city. The regular rhytm of windows on facade refers to the Mikulov´s renaissance. The regular placement of window openings, and their rhythm are inspirated by Mikulov renaissance. Smaller holes, glass surfaces, light color of facade, green roof and shielding elements prevent from overheating the object during the summer. The water element in the courtyard offers pleasant refreshment for the visitors.

Vývoj vysokopevnostních betonů definovaných vlastností s využitím druhotných surovin / Development of high-strength concrete defined properties with the use of secondary raw materials

Ondráček, Michal Unknown Date (has links)
Civil engineering development is connected with the application of new construction methods and the development of new building materials. Concrete, as one of the basic building materials, is part of this development. A major turning point in the development of concrete and its properties occurred with the use of new, more efficient plasticizing additives. This allowed to produce concrete with lower water cement ratio, while increasing the strength of concrete. Gradually, the compressive strength of concrete boundary has moved by several levels, when there are currently commonly used concrete with strength of about 100 N/mm2 and with the special methods of concrete production strength range from 250 to 300 N/mm2. A negative aspect of the development of (ultra) high-strength concrete is their energy and economic demands. A characteristic feature of high-strength concrete is a high content of cement and very fine admixtures, especially silica fume. One way to improve the economics of these types of concrete is the application of cheaper admixture based on industrial waste. The content of this work is the observation and description of the properties of high-strength concrete and reactive powder concrete, in which the admixtures were based on industrial waste were applied. Part of this work is the comparison of economic parameters for individual types of concrete.

Inverkan av delmaterialensvariationer på betongensegenskaper / Effect of variations in the constituents on the properties of concrete

Ghafori, Abbas, Estrada Bernuy, Gabriel January 2015 (has links)
During concrete production, property variations of the constituents occur that affect the fresh and hardenedconcrete. The variation in the constituents has been studied at three of Skanska’s concrete plants(Gothenburg, Luleå and Norrköping) through the samples analyzed at Cementa Research. Sampling atthese factories took place once per month over a one year period. The constituents that have been analyzedare aggregates, cement, superplasticizers and limestone filler (only in Gothenburg and Norrköping).Sieving of aggregates 0-8 mm has been conducted with traditional sieving. For grain sizes smaller than0.25 mm, cement and limestone filler laser sieving has been used.To get a clear picture of the variations in the constituents an analysis was performed that illustrated theexact figures of the discrepancies. Analyses show that the traditional sieving has less variation compared tolaser sighting. Moreover, the analysis shows that the slump has larger variations than the compressivestrength.Luleå showed the least variation for aggregates 0-8 mm while the largest variation was apparent at Norrkoping. However, Luleå has shown the largest variation in aggregates < 0.25 mm, cement, limestone filler, superplasticizers and compressive strength. Gothenburg on the other hand showed least variationamongst these while showing the largest variation in the slump. To better understand the property changes that are expected in the concrete of the respective the constituentsin either direction, both descriptive and theoretical analysis are applied simultaneously. The descriptiveanalysis has been limited to explore how changes in aggregates, cement, limestone fillers andsuperplasticizers affect the slump and compressive strength. The results of the descriptive analysis has shown that an increased amount of coarse aggregates 0-8 mmgives rise to larger slump and an increased amount of finer aggregates 0-8 mm gives greater compressivestrength to the majority of the samples. For aggregates 0-8 mm < 0.25 mm analysis has shown that fineraggregates < 0.25 mm give rise to greater slump. Analysis in Gothenburg also shows that the majority ofthe samples have higher compressive strength for the finer aggregates < 0.25 mm.Samples from Gothenburg have shown that coarser limestone filler provides higher compressive strength.Majority of the samples at Norrköping show greater slump for fine limestone filler and higher compressivestrength for coarse limestone filler.Analyses of cement have shown that the majority of the samples in Luleå have given rise to greater slumpfor finer cements and higher compressive strength for coarser cement. In Norrköping, the analysisdemonstrated the same compressive strength, however, to the contrary coarse cement has given rise togreater slump.Analysis of superplasticizers in Luleå show that the majority of the samples at higher dry content resultedin greater slump and at lower dry content resulted in higher compressive strength.

Traits phénotypiques et développement de plantes exposées aux éléments traces; utilisation pour la phytoremédiation et l biosurveillance / Phenotypic traits and development of plants exposed to trace elements; use for phytoremediation and biomonitoring

Kolbas, Aliaksandr 05 October 2012 (has links)
This work aimed at assessing sustainable phytoremediation options for trace element-contaminated soils. It includes both the assessment of initial and residual risks (biomonitoring) and long-term sustainable decontamination options using plants and associated microbes, especially aided phytoextraction with the secondary purposes of producing plant-based feedstock and restoring ecosystem services. Copper phytotoxicity, the improving role of soil conditioners, and plant tolerance were tested using a bioassay as well as a fading technique. The usefulness of a mutant line of sunflower (Helianthus annuus) and a motherline of tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) for the biomonitoring of Cu-contaminated soils was investigated. Biochemical parameters in relation to antioxidant status of plants and molecular responses to Cu excess generally showed a greater sensitivity than morphologic ones. Tobacco has a higher Cu tolerance than sunflower. Endophytic bacteria from various sources, notably from the seeds of metallicolous populations of grasses (Agrostis capillaris) can promote the growth of sunflower and tobacco exposed to Cu excess. For annual Cu-secondary accumulator plants with an excluder phenotype, increase in shoot Cu removal occurred primarily through increase in shoot biomass, rather than in shoot Cu concentration. Therefore, attention in field trials was paid to agricultural practices. Various improving options were tested in situ: application of soil amendments, the use of mutant lines and somaclonal variation, cultivars and crop rotation, bioaugmentation, fertilization, irrigation, etc. Two mutant lines and some commercial cultivars of sunflower as well as the motherline of tobacco showed a high potential for Cu phytoextraction as well as for plant-based feedstock. Ecological restoration options for Cu-contaminated soils based on phytoextraction using annual Cu-secondary accumulator plants with a high shoot biomass would (1) result in the progressive decontamination of Cu-contaminated soils during crop rotations, (2) provide a financial return through biomass valorization, and (3) promote ecosystem services.

Co-firing animal waste, sludge, residue wood, peat and forest fuels in a 50MWth CFB boiler : ash transformation, availability and process improvements

Hagman, Henrik January 2014 (has links)
The direct variable costs for heat and electricity production based on solid biomass fuel combustion is approximately 3-5 times lower than the costs in a fossil fuel-oil based boiler in Sweden. In addition waste derived biomass fuels are typically much cheaper than biomass not classified as waste. The introduction of the waste derived fuels; wastewater treatment sludge, demolition wood, and animal waste in a 50MWth circulating fluidized bed (CFB) biomass boiler located in Perstorp, Sweden, led to rapid deposit buildup in superheaters, heavy ash accumulation in economizers and failing boiler tubes and vortex finders that forced frequent boiler shutdowns. This in turn increased the use of expensive oil (fossil fuel) in backup boilers and the CO2 footprint of the on-site energy conversion system. This work aims to increase the general mechanistic understanding of combustion systems using complex fuels, and includes: A mapping of the boiler failure and preventive maintenance statistics; elemental composition analysis of ash, deposits and fuel fractions; flue-gas composition measurements; chemical speciation analysis; an attempt to describe the overall ash transformation reactions and mass balance throughout the combustion process. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) was used to analyze the elemental composition of ash and deposits. The SEM-EDS results were used together with data from X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) analysis, thermodynamic phase data, and equilibrium calculations in an attempt to quantify the crystalline phases and the overall ash transformation of the process. Based on the findings concerning ash transformation and the failure statistics, it has been possible to identify generic key parameters regarding boiler design and process parameters, enabling major improvements of the CFB boiler availability, a lower overall energy conversion cost and a reduced CO2 footprint.

Le château ducal de Moulins (Allier) de Louis II de Bourbon à Anne de France : étude historique et archéologique d'une résidence princière (XIVe - XVIe siècle) / Ducal castle of Moulins (France, Allier) from Louis II de Bourbon to Anne de France : historical and archaelogical study of a princely residence (XIV-XVI century)

Condello, Celia 08 April 2016 (has links)
During his history, the ducal castle of Moulins has been subject to several destructions and improvements. Despite this, it still contains elements that should be studied carefully in order to restore its original state. From written sources, one knows at least two major buildings campaigns. First one was initiated by the third duke of Bourbon, Louis II, in the late fourteenth century. The remaining main tower, known as “Mal-Coiffée” ("Untidy Top"), has been dated by dendrochronology around 1399/1400. A second campaign of expansion and redevelopment begins after 1488, commissioned by the Duke of Bourbon, Pierre de Beaujeu and his wife Anne de France, Charles VIII’s sister. This expansion will be completed in the early sixteenth century with the construction of a renaissance architecture portico, very early in France. This thesis combines both History and art history, starting from an archaeological reflection of the remaining buildings. The aim of this work is to combine and compare these different approaches in order to obtain the most comprehensive and exhaustive study of this forgotten site which play a key role in History.

Stone working in antiquity, general techniques and a framework of critical factors derived from the construction of Solomon's Temple in Jerusalem

Smith, Anne Marie 02 1900 (has links)
The focus of this thesis is on the most commonly used types of stone, the methods of quarrying stone, stone working, the tools developed and used for that purpose, and the ways in which stone was transported and hoisted into place. This is starting from the earliest times in which large temples or buildings were constructed, namely the Neolithic, up till the time of the Roman Empire. Besides being a kind of compendium of most aspects of stone working, which could be found, also attention is given to the ideal conditions under which the construction of a large temple or monument could take place. The framework, which is developed from the description of the construction of Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem in I Kings 5 and I Chronicles 28, is used to analyse the construction of a number of other temples in different times, places and settings, and with the use of different materials, to test if the framework is applicable in all these situations. Moreover, also other aspects of stone working, such as mosaics and the manufacturing of stone vessels in Jerusalem are described and analysed as to their origins and uses. The intention is to give an overview of the many ways in which stone has been used, so that the reader can get an idea of how large temples and monuments were built and to gain an understanding of what kind of technical know-how and ingenuity existed in antiquity. / Religious Studies and Arabic / D. Geology of the Phil Pico Mountain Quadrangle, Daggett County, Utah, and Sweetwater County, Wyoming

Anderson, Alvin D. 25 April 2008 (has links) (PDF)
Geologic mapping in the Phil Pico Mountain quadrangle and analysis of the Carter Oil Company Carson Peak Unit 1 well have provided additional constraints on the erosional and uplift history of this section of the north flank of the Uinta Mountains. Phil Pico Mountain is largely composed of the conglomeratic facies of the early Eocene Wasatch and middle to late Eocene Bridger Formations. These formations are separated by the Henrys Fork fault which has thrust Wasatch Formation next to Bridger Formation. The Wasatch Formation is clearly synorogenic and contains an unroofing succession from the adjacent Uinta Mountains. On Phil Pico Mountain, the Wasatch Formation contains clasts eroded sequentially from the Permian Park City Formation, Permian Pennsylvanian Weber Sandstone, Pennsylvanian Morgan Formation, and the Pennsylvanian Round Valley and Mississippian Madison Limestones. Renewed uplift in the middle and late Eocene led to the erosion of Wasatch Formation and its redeposition as Bridger Formation on the down-thrown footwall of the Henrys Fork fault. Field observations and analysis of the cuttings and lithology log from Carson Peak Unit 1 well suggest that initial uplift along the Henrys Fork Fault occurred in the late early or early middle Eocene with the most active periods of uplift in the middle and late Eocene (Figure 8, Figure 24, Appendix 1). The approximate post-Paleocene throw of the Henrys Fork fault at Phil Pico Mountain is 2070 m (6800 ft). The Carson Peak Unit 1 well also reveals that just north of the Henrys Fork fault at Phil Pico Mountain the Bridger Formation (middle to late Eocene) is 520 m (1710 ft) thick; an additional 460 m (1500 ft) of Bridger Formation lies above the well on Phil Pico Mountain. Beneath the Bridger Formation are 400 m (1180 ft) of Green River Formation (early to middle Eocene), 1520 m (5010 ft) of Wasatch Formation (early Eocene), and 850 m (2800 ft) of the Fort Union Formation (Paleocene). Stratigraphic data from three sections located east to west across the Phil Pico Mountain quadrangle show that the Protero-zoic Red Pine Shale has substantially more sandstone and less shale in the eastern section of the quadrangle. Field observations suggest that the Red Pine Shale undergoes a facies change across the quadrangle. However, due to the lack of continuous stratigraphic exposures, the cause of this change is not known.

Robledo Ardila, Pedro Agustín 04 November 2005 (has links)
Paleokarst tend to differ from studies of recent and modern karst landforms though is important the genetic understanding of the karst processes for analysis a paleokarst structure. Paleokarst systems form an important class of carbonate record and they have a pronounced lateral and vertical spatial complexity that results from a complex history of formation. Most of the known karst systems are epigenetic and they are the result of near-surface karst processes during periods of subaerial exposure and latter burial compaction and diagénesis. Scale, porosity types and spatial complexities of these paleokarst systems depends on the carbonate rock solubility, paleoclimatic conditions, lowering of base level either by tectonic uplift or sea-level fall and time of subaerial exposure. Uplift, in addition, commonly induces fracturing and faulting that further control karst development. Ascertaining and predicting paleokarstic heterogeneities within carbonate rocks are strategic to fluids field development and optimum production. With current subsurface methods, however, most of the smaller-scale stratigraphic architecture and diagenetic facies are difficult to define. Predictive models for exploration and development are best made from outcrop studies of well-exposed examples. Accuracy for prediction of these models depends on the detailed understanding of the genetic factors controlling their geometries, scale, pore networks and spatial complexities of these potential karstic store. Miocene carbonates (Upper Tortonian-Lower Messinian) in Mallorca Island are composed of reefal (Reef Complex) and shallow water carbonates (Santanyí Limestone) that prograded across platforms surrounding paleoislands. The contact between the Reef Complex and the Santanyí Limestone is a subaerial erosion surface with paleokarst features. The shallow-water carbonates beds both the lagoonal beds of the Reef Complex and basal beds of the Santanyí Limestone, are affected by paleocollapse structures produced by roof collapse of caverns developed in the underlying Reefal Complex. These paleocollapse structures affecting to the carbonate platform allows to propose a genetic model to explain the origin of these paleosink, that are related to early diagenetic processes induced by high-frequency sea-level fluctuations, the same sea-level fluctuations that controlled the facies architecture of the carbonate platforms.Cartography and study of lineaments and fractures on Santanyí Platform have permitted identified two principals groups with two main directions: NE-SO and NO-SE. Have been observed distensiva fractures and Miocene small inverse faults related with de breackdwon phenomena. Moreover, postmiocenes and quaternary faults and fractures have been recognized. The geometry of paleocollapse structures is commonly (in section) as "V", "U" or funnel. The size is variable from few meters of long to thousands meters, and few meters of weigh to thirteen meters. Breccias has been classified as crackle, crackle-laminae-split, mosaic and chaotic types. Chaotic breccias grade from matrix-free, clasts-supported breccias to matrix-supported breccias. The matrix mineralogy is compose in the total sample for calcite in the major part and quartz in less quantity. However, same structures present quartz as principal mineral. To the clay fraction, caolinite, illite and moscovite are the most general mineral present. The geochimical sediment (carbonate) are filling a part of interclaste breccias porosity. This is commonly phreatic speleothems. Isotopic studies of this sediments show δ18O and δ13C contents negatives. This fact could indicate a fresh water environment deposition
