<p>Följande studie syftar till att undersöka hur industriföretag på den värmländska glesbygden uppfattar pedagogikämnet vid Karlstads universitet. Studien har en tydlig inriktning mot arbetslivspedagogik, och det är framförallt arbetspedagogiska teorier som utgör studiens teoretiska grund.</p><p>Studien bygger på intervjuer med representanter från fem värmländska industriföretag.</p><p>Dessa intervjuer har sedan analyserats med avseende på respondenternas berättelser och de uttalande som kan kopplas till ämnet pedagogik, vilket är brukligt vid användandet av narrativ metod och analys.</p><p>Resultatet visar att de värmländska industriföretagen har behov av pedagogisk kunskap, men att de föredrar att anlita konsulter framför att ha någon anställd som arbetar med dessa frågor.</p> / <p>This study aims to investigate how industrial companies, situated in the sparsely populated areas of Värmland, understand the subject pedagogy at Karlstad University. The study focuses on educational science in working life.</p><p>The study is based on interviews with representatives from five industrial companies in Värmland. The interviews were analysed according to the respondents’ stories and statements which were referable to the subject pedagogy. This approach is customary when using narrative method and analysis.</p><p>The result shows that the industrial companies in Värmland have a need of educational knowledge, but that they prefer to engage consultants prior to employing someone to work continuously with these issues.</p>

I arbetsförmågans gränsland : En explorativ studie om utförsäkring från Försäkringskassan

At the turn of the year 2009/2010 there was a change in the regulations on sickness impact. This led to 328 persons in County of Kronoberg had an expired period of sickness benefit from the Social Insurance Office (Försäkringskassan) when they reached the maximum time for sickness or temporary disability compensation. These individuals were offered introductory programs with the employment services. The purpose of this study is to investigate how the population with expired period of sickness benefit from the Regional Social Insurance Office in the County of Kronoberg (Försäkringskassan Kronoberg) is described in the initial stage, and to explore how individuals who achieved expired period of sickness benefit from the Social Insurance Office (Försäkringskassan) talks about the meaning to get an expired period of sickness benefit regarding economic and social issues. The study was inspired by Grounded theory. The method has consisted of both quantitative and qualitative interviews. In total, six persons participated in the surveys. Narrative method was used in the interview with a person with experience of an expired period of sickness benefit from the Social Insurance Office (Försäkringskassan). The interviews indicate that the authorities have different focus on the concept of rehabilitation. This means that what is to be regarded as rehabilitation and the efforts which may benefit the individual depends on which authority has the power of definition. This study is made before preparing administrators for either statistics or working methods were established by the relevant authorities. Longer experience in the field is still missing about what the change means for both individuals who have experience of the expired period of sickness benefit and professionals. This points out; further research in this area is needed.

”Han ska inte bli likadan som jag har varit” : En narrativ studie av moderskapets betydelse för några unga, före detta familjehems- eller institutionsplacerade mammor

The purpose of this study was to examine how some young mothers, who previously have been in foster care or residential care, describe the way motherhood has affected their lives and identities. Narrative interviews were conducted with three teenage mothers and one mother aged 23. As tools for analyzing the narratives, theories about narrative psychology and how people present themselves through story-telling and language were used. The results of the study show that becoming a mother was life-changing in a positive way, according to the young mothers. They described how they, since becoming mothers, had become more mature and now lived less risk-full lives. Motherhood had brought a new focus to their lives and had given them motivation to study and to become self-supporting. The mothers expressed a wish to give their children a better childhood, than they themselves had. The results of the study were similar with the results reported in previous, qualitative studies of the experiences of young mothers.

Berättelser från Fountain House : En narrativ studie

The aim of this undergraduate thesis was to study what the participation in the activities of the Fontain House in Stockholm means to its members. The research questions dealt with how the members describe their participation in the activities, whether they say that it has helped them, and, in that case, in which way. Furthermore, they dealt with how the members argue about their experiences of mental illness and of social help. The study was carried out within the framework of the narrative method. As tools for analyzing the narratives, parts of An-tonovsky’s theories as well as the theoretical concepts of inclusion and exclusion as described by Madsen, were used. Furthermore, earlier research on the Fontain House was applied in the analysis. The results of the study showed that all of the respondents said that the Fontain House was of great importance in their lives and that they could participate in its activities in regard to their own needs and resources. The thesis discusses whether the selection and the execution of the study may have affected the results toward a positive tendency. Concerning how the re-spondents argue about mental illness and about social help, the answers varied strongly.

Slöjd som berättelse : - om skolungdom och estetiska perspektiv

The chief aim of this thesis is to explore aesthetic aspects of the Swedish school subject of sloyd. The research questions are: What do young people tell about sloyd? What aesthetic resources do they use? How can one describe the relation between what young people tell about sloyd and the aesthetic resources they use? A narrative approach was chosen to learn about activities and attitudes concerning aesthetic matters among young people in the 9th form in lower secondary schools. The empirical study was carried out in three schools including qualitative interviews and visual ethnography mainly considering the learner’s point of view. Findings are represented through story constructions and photographs. Ten stories depict aesthetic and thereto related aspects of which five stories are based on individuals and another five are thematic. Stories and photos were analyzed using an integration of aesthetic, narrative and semiotic methods. Structures of meaning making were identified using three concepts: expressions, personal project, and dynamic process. The results show that aesthetic deliberation in sloyd work is a major issue among young people. Concerns are often based on personal circumstances, such as taste and preference. Aesthetic considerations in the pupils’ sloyd work were found to be directed towards the one’s own room, relations to family members, and/or plans for future engagement in aesthetic related professions. The results confirm that aesthetic expression in sloyd work may be a way for pupils to reflect upon and develop their personalities. I have also shown that sloyd may be a way to represent narrative instances. A second aim is to develop theoretical concepts in the field of aesthetic learning in sloyd. I argue that an aesthetic aspect alone cannot satisfy the concept of aesthetic learning. Therefore the aesthetic learning concept in my study is generated from aesthetic, configurative (cf. gestaltung) and creative aspects, thus forming an integrated aesthetic perspective. Aesthetic objectives were analyzed using Bakhtin’s systemic aesthetics, which identified architectonic instances in sloyd materials and sloyd design supporting narrative elements in sloyd artefacts. Finally I propose a model for narrative understanding of artefacts based on the theoretical concepts mediation and focalization.

The aim of this study is to create a deeper understanding of the disease known as eating disorder. The study is based on four autobiographies written by individuals who themselves have been affected by eating disorders. These stories have been studied using a narrative approach. To achieve the purpose, the study is focused on what participants describe as the factors underlying the onset of the disease, the factors that participants describe maintained their eating disorders, as well as what is described to be the factors responsible for their recovery. By my interpretation of the stories, I have been able to identify common factors that all participants describe to be influential in their disease course. The common factors that have been identified are relationships, expectations and emotions. The result shows that it is possible to see a variation in how these factors have influenced the participants' disease course. The variety of how these factors have influenced suggests that each individual's care is unique. The results have been analyzed by using the theory of social construction.

Daremos ênfase à singularidade feminina diante das injunções de um universo masculino. / The purpose of this essay is to perceive the intrinsical subtileness to Machado de Assis´ narrative method in Dom Casmurro and some short stories. We will analyse the relational aspect between men and women and the questionable link among marriage,love and adultery. We will emphasize the female singularity in what refers to facing impositions of a male universe.

Tais aspectos estão constituídos em Subjetividade, Cotidiano, Leitura, Capital Cultural, História e Memória, Desvelo e Tecnologia. O desenvolvimento deste trabalho aborda cinco etapas: a metodológica, utilizando-se da categoria das mediações e do método narrativo; panoramas históricos da educação portuguesa e brasileira; as principais representações teóricas do campo educacional dos dois países; e, finalmente, a análise das entrevistas de quatro professores portugueses e quatro professores brasileiros. We try to understand part of identity Portuguese teacher in Brazil and Portugal. These aspects are Subjectivity, Day by Day, Reading, Cultural Capital, History and Memory, Desvelo and Technology. The development of this research discusses five stages: Methodology, using the category of mediation and narrative method; point of view about Portugal and Brazilian histories; Main representations about Portuguese and Brazilian education bibliography; finally, analysis of interviews with four Portuguese teachers and four Brazilian teachers.
