Juhlin, Fanny, Jerndal, Sofia January 2023 (has links)
Detta kan i slutändan bidra till att stödja företagets fortsatta innovativa utveckling med hjälp av främjande av kunskapsspridning / Knowledge is a resource that a lot of companies base their operation on. However, this requires functioning knowledge sharing for the company to be able to make full use of the resource. Research shows that knowledge sharing is crucial for competitiveness at the same time as it is difficult to realize in a systematic and successful way. The study highlights this dilemma in relation to the relatively new field, fintech companies, also called financial technology companies, which have grown because of their innovation and thus competitiveness. How does companies in the fintech industry facilitate knowledge sharing? As well as, how does the company’s enabling factors; culture, leadership, technology and measurement affect knowledge sharing? These questions were intended to be answered with the goal of contributing to insights into how a fintech company manages its knowledge sharing and how industry colleagues can make use of these. In this qualitative case study, a Swedish fintech company is studied. The data was collected with the help of six semi-structured interviews and one participant observation at a weekly meeting. The data was analyzed with a thematic analysis. The theories Critical Success Factors and Factors Influencing Knowledge Sharing influenced the interview questions and were applied on the result. The result showed that the investigated company’s individual and organizational factors facilitate their knowledge sharing, where the motivation of the employees is essential. However, the employees lacked some technical factors for facilitating knowledge sharing, namely, integrable and user-friendly tools that could facilitate knowledge sharing as well as an understanding of why they should share knowledge and with what approach, both in Sweden and their office abroad. This may ultimately contribute to support the company’s continued innovative development by facilitating the knowledge sharing.

Closing the Church University in 1894: Embracing or Accommodating Secularized Education

Ricks, Brian William 17 December 2012 (has links) (PDF)
The late 1800s have been noted as a major transitional period for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When the beleaguered pioneers first arrived in Utah they were isolated from the influence and expectations of the United States. During that time, leaders of the Church became influential in every aspect of life in Utah. By the end of the nineteenth century, however, the period of isolation had come to an end. Nationally, the social norms had changed and religion was expected to stay in the churches and out of politics. Church leaders were faced with serious questions regarding what policies and practices could be altered without betraying doctrines and principles of the gospel. Education was at the forefront of this tension in Utah. Members of the Church tried to hold on to an integrated approach to education that incorporated both the spiritual and the secular. Others, however, adamantly opposed such an approach in public schools. In 1892, the First Presidency announced a new educational institution that would become the administrative head of all Church schools: The University of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Willard Young became the President and James Talmage was placed over the science department. Talmage traveled to Europe to purchase the best scientific equipment. With the scientific apparatus and a new building the leaders of the Church hoped to persuade the youth of the Church to obtain higher education at home rather than traveling east to attend secularized universities. The Church's first private university seemed destined to become a major influence in Utah education. However, after one successful semester, President Woodruff closed the school and donated over sixty thousand dollars to the University of Utah. The following research explores the history of the Church University and the circumstances surrounding its closure. The paper shows how a combination of the financial panic of 1893, the effort to obtain statehood, and a rare opportunity to quietly gain influence at the University of Utah factored into the decision to close the Church's first private university.

Factors influencing primary health care services utilisation by children living in child-headed households in a rural community of Swaziland

Sibanda, Joyce 01 1900 (has links)
Text in English / Background: Children living in child-headed households have health needs that require treatment and care. Matsanjeni is one of the poorest socio-economic areas of Swaziland with the high number of children orphaned by HIV and AIDS who are often living without adequate family and social supports. These conditions are known for increasing people vulnerability to diseases and hindering access and utilization of health services. However, children living in child-headed households in Matsajeni community do attend the primary health care (PHC) services on regular basis. What influence the utilization of the above services by children living in child-headed households in the Matsanjeni community is not clear and well documented. Aim of the study: To explore and describe the views of children living in child-headed households in a rural community of Swaziland regarding factors influencing their utilization of PHC services. Design: A qualitative descriptive design was used to guide the study. Purposive sampling was used to select the most senior child from child-headed households in a rural community. Semi-structured individual face-to-face interviews were used to generate data. Data saturation was reached after twenty interviews. Thematic content analysis was used to analyse data. The researcher used Andersen behavioural model was to identify and organised the emerged themes. Ethical clearance was obtained from the Ethics Committees of the University of South Africa and the Ministry of Health of Swaziland. Results: Fear to develop a deadly disease, perceived seriousness of the condition, desire for compliance to medical treatment, and community support emerged as enablers of primary health care services utilisation among children living in child-headed households. While lack of money, ignorance, shortage of healthcare personnel, negative behaviour and attitude of health professionals, long waiting hours, unreliable transportation system, and long distance emerged as inhibitors of primary health care services utilisation among children living in child-headed households. Conclusion and recommendation: The results of this study add to our understanding factors that positively and negatively influence the utilisation of primary health care services among children living in child-headed households in rural communities. The findings suggest that the utilisation of primary health care services among children living in child-headed households is influenced by need for care-enabling resources-experience of care triad. Behavioural and social welfare interventions are needed to enhance the utilisation of primary health care services among this vulnerable section of the community in Swaziland. Recommendation for further research is also articulated. / Health Studies / M.A. (Public Health)

La fabrique de la prescription « au carré » : conception participative d’un dispositif de travail d’organisation transverse d’un processus de conception documentaire / The making of prescription "per square" : collaborative design of an experimental methodology of transversal organizational work of a documentary design process

Thomas, Camille 17 December 2018 (has links)
In our intervention research we investigate the making of prescription, that is, the organization of a design process of prescriptive documents used, in particular, for nuclear power plants. This project is part of a constructive approach to ergonomics.Building of an organizational diagnosis leads to characterize the studied process, transversal collective work it involves, and to develop specific tools for intervention. We implement a participatory design approach in order to design an experimental methodology which supports the organization of a transversal organizational. This experimentation refers to “the square” of the making of prescription. This leads to two main results: the development of a transversal collective work between participants involved, and the highlighting of a lack of subsidiarity within the studied organization.Design and experimentation of the methodology analysis contribute to produce knowledge about enabling ergonomics intervention: on the participatory design of the methodology itself, and on the enhancement of the role of social elaboration of an ergonomics intervention.

Middle managers shaping strategic outcomes within a private higher education institution : a case study / Baokamedi ba mahareng ba bopang diphetho tsa meralo kahare ho setsi sa poraefete sa thuto e phahameng : phuputso

Samson, Shereen Judith 06 1900 (has links)
This dissertation explores how middle managers use their micro-strategising practices of agency and sense-making to shape strategic outcomes during and after strategic change implementation within an enabling and/or constraining organisational social structure. The researcher examined this phenomenon through the theoretical lenses of strategy-as-practice perspective and sense-making. The qualitative case-study research design with an interpretivist, social constructionist paradigm captured the lived organisational social reality of the administrative middle managers over time at a for-profit educational brand of a private higher education (PHE) provider. A thematic data analysis approach integrated manual coding with electronic coding to analyse data gathered through an emergent research design of text messages and e-mail journals over a four-month period. Data-driven inductive coding was synthesised with structural deductive coding in response to the research questions. The dissertation concludes that administrative middle managers use micro-level strategising practices of retrospective and prospective cognitive and emotional sense-making and the practical coping of agency, or embodied sense-making, to navigate a complex and contradictory organisational socio-cultural context that is both enabling and constraining. A further contribution of the current study speaks to the embedded practices between the two discrete levels of organisation and individual, which has been interpreted through the contradictions following the equivocal signals that these two main levels demonstrate. The porous inter-dependency between the two levels of organisation and individual creates an inter-woven entity where the strands of individual and organisational action are difficult to pull out and name distinctly, without unravelling the tapestry that is the organisational entity. These contributions affirm the intellectual puzzle which sought to understand and/or restore the balance of the individual within an organisational socio-cultural context to attain organisational security and equilibrium after organisational change. The findings of this current study is not generalisable to the other seven educational brands of the PHE provider. / Designing an enabling prescription, ergonomics and work rules debates : the case of a company deploying lean production.

Perez Toralla, Maria Sol 20 December 2013 (has links)
The goal of ergonomic of adapting work to Man has gradually broadened in scope, notably with the evolution of the concept of health towards integrating the possibility for workers to make full use of their skills. Following this view, the main goal of our research was to better understand the possibilities of joint development of people and organization within a “lean production” industry. Three perspectives of analysis were fallowed. The first perspective related to the underlying model of work in lean production. The second perspective focused on mobilizing work activity as part of continual improvement approaches. The third perspective focused on the forms and goals of the transformation of work, in order to identify the role of ergonomics and evolutions in the practice of ergonomics in order to act in a context of deployment of a lean production system. Our results suggested that ergonomic action focused on identifying the conditions of improved participation is not enough. One must also provide feedback at the strategic level of management, so as to broaden the goals of projects aiming for continual improvement, by including the goals that had not been previously anticipated, and that had been formulated by operators.

Didactique professionnelle du design : situations d’apprentissage, activités de conception et représentations : le cas de l’alternance / Professional pedagogy of design : learning situations, representations and design activities : the case of work-linked training

Moineau, Christophe 24 November 2016 (has links)
The purpose of this exploratory work, grounded on an emerging professional pedagogy of design, is to understand the impact of work-linked training in design on the learning of the design activity by students. To that end, the knowledge involved is extracted, juxtaposed with the representations that the requirement offers, and then set against the representations that students build of design activity as a social object as well as those involved in learning activities. Therefore, the theoretical field which is used is multidisciplinary. It induces a dialectical methodologic framework based both on a curricular analysis, necessary to understand the observed teaching situations, and on an analysis of the students’ activities. The outcomes shed light on these (sometimes conflicting) representations of creative design activity and of the designer’s profession. Outcomes also show the alternating times and places of learning situations reveal to the students the specificity of both designing situation. Thus, the “organizing environments” of the real curriculum and untaught within the required one, modify and regulate the system of interactions and the development of the students’ design skills. Moreover, the exchange device induces a timeline and “enabling” working and learning environments. Finally, the production of knowledge, required by the curriculum through the “research thesis”, allows the “apprentices-designers-researchers” to develop forms of expertise that question the interactions between knowledge to act and meta-knowledge to design and seems to redefine the representation of the design skill.
