Este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender o papel da Embrafilme no estímulo à produção de filmes de temática histórica e adaptações de obras literárias, seja através das formas de financiamento tradicionais, seja através da Carteira de Coproduções de Filmes Históricos e do Programa Especial de Pesquisa de Temas para Filmes Históricos, considerando a conjuntura política e cultural do governo Geisel (1974- 1979). Para tanto, realizou-se pesquisa documental e bibliográfica visando esclarecer se este fomento à produção cinematográfica seria o resultado da implementação de uma política mais ampla voltada ao setor. A partir do material consultado, buscou-se conhecer as principais diretrizes do governo Geisel dirigidas à área cultural, avaliando sea(as) estas foram determinantes para orientar o incentivo à produção de filme de gênero histórico e adaptações de obras literárias. Os resultados indicam que o incentivo oferecido pela Embrafilme a estas temáticas de filme fez parte de uma estratégia levada a cabo pela direção da empresa, sem que houvesse uma política de governo específica que determinasse esse apoio. Também concluiu-se que a produção cinematográfica de filme de temática histórica e deadaptações de obras literárias foi significativa no período, levando-se em conta o curto período em que o incentivo foi oferecido. / The purpose of this study have to investigate the importance of the role by Embrafilme--the Brazilian Film Agency--in stimulating the production of thematic historical films and screen adaptations of literary works, either by means of traditional forms of funding or through the Special Program for Research of Themes for Historical Cinema, considering the political and cultural context of the Geisel government (1974- 1979). To this end, desk research and a literature survey were conducted to clarify whether Embrafilme\'s incentive for film production stemmed from a broader policy for the sector. The material thus retrieved served to expound on core guidelines of the federal government for the cultural sector and to evaluate whether they were instrumental in orienting the incentive offered for the production of historical film and screen adaptations of literary works. The results revealed that Embrafilme\'s incentive for these thematics was part of a strategy initiated by the agency\'s management board in the absence of any specific governmental policy shaping this support. For both thematics, production was significant over the timeframe investigated, when measured against the short period in which incentives were available.

Este trabalho discute a performance da memória e suas implicações em questões de identidade, sociedade e, principalmente, na constituição da regionalidade na obra São Bernardo, de Graciliano Ramos, mediante a análise do texto em primeira pessoa atribuído a seu protagonista e narrador, Paulo Honório e considerações publicadas na fortuna crítica relacionada ao livro e ao autor. Abordam-se ainda os temas de região e regionalidade, através de discussões teóricas e análises da obra e de textos críticos preexistentes. O estudo divide-se em quatro capítulos: o primeiro privilegia os aspectos da memória em São Bernardo; o segundo aborda a visão de sociedade proporcionada pelo texto; o terceiro, a questão da identidade social e, por fim, discutem-se os aspectos de regionalidade e região. / This work discusses the memory performance and its implications in questions of identity, society and specially in regionality´s constitution in the work São Bernardo, by Graciliano Ramos, by analysis of first person text attributed to its protagonist and narrator, Paulo Honório as well as book´s and author´s literary criticism analysis. It approaches also the themes of region and regionality, through theoretical discussions and analysis of work and preexisting critical texts. The study is divided into four chapters: the first focuses on aspects of memory in São Bernardo; the second deals with the vision of society offered by the text; the third, the question of social identity and, finally, we discuss aspects of regionality and region.

Para tal, foram privilegiadas três obras em que o narrador lembra de sua vida, os excertos das obras literárias representam o trabalho da memória sobre os avós e as relações da memória com a família e a cultura. As obras escolhidas foram: Solo de Clarineta de Érico Verissimo, Menino de Engenho de José Lins do Rego e Infância de Graciliano Ramos. Também foi realizado um estudo qualitativo em que se aplicou a análise de conteúdo nas entrevistas narrativas de idosos-avós que lembravam de seus avós e de seus netos. Dessa análise foram construídas cinco categorias e subcategorias que sintetizaram o conteúdo dos discursos: a primeira categoria chama-se Espaços de Convivência e tem uma subcategoria chamada Retrato dos Lugares; a segunda chama-se Papéis dos Avós e engloba a subcategoria Meios de Proteção; a terceira é Traços Culturais e tem como subcategorias Sabedoria dos Avós e Práticas Religiosas; a quarta categoria chama-se Sentimento de Pertença e tem a subcategoria Histórias de Origem e Marcas e Diferenças, a quinta categoria chama-se Re(-)conhecimento da vida e engloba as idéias de Limites e Possibilidades. Este trabalho se propõe narrar o surgimento e a evolução da legislação do Direito de Autor tendo como referência o livro, pois ele foi o primeiro objeto a se beneficiar desse direito e, ainda hoje, é de relevante importância no desenvolvimento da legislação autoral. Nesse sentido, a pesquisa oferece reflexões acerca dos desafios impostos pela reprodução digital das obras literárias, tendo em vista o desejável equilíbrio entre duas áreas aparentemente conflitantes: o interesse individual dos titulares de direito pela proteção da obra e o interesse social pelo acesso ao conhecimento dentro da problemática decorrente das inovações tecnológicas, suas implicações internacionais e o conflito com as normas internas, o que culminará na proposta da reforma da lei de Direito de Autor pelo Ministério da Cultura. / This study paper is a proposal to review the evolution of the law of copyright. As a reference book, it was the first object to take advantage of this right and continues to play an important role in the development of copyright legislation. The research goal is to outline the challenges of the digital reproduction of works, providing a clear articulation of the desired balance between two seemingly conflicting objectives: the individual interests related to copyright holders and the social interest groups in accessing the knowledge within the problems arising from technological innovations. Technical innovation challenges include the domestic and international implications that culminated in the proposal to review the Brazil Copyright Law suggested by the Ministry of Culture.

Este estudo tem como objetivo investigar aspectos do fenômeno pós-modernista na literatura por meio da análise do romance Glaucha, de Paulo Ribeiro. Discute-se o contexto que permitiu o surgimento dessa tendência contemporânea, explorando sua condição de continuidade e ruptura em relação ao movimento que a antecedeu, o modernismo. Juntamente com a análise do romance, são exploradas as características atribuídas à tendência pós-modernista, ressaltando-se a forte presença da intertextualidade e da paródia. It is argued the context that allowed the appearing of this contemporary trend, exploring its condition of continuity and rupture in relation to the movement that preceded it, modernism. The characteristics attributed to the postmodernist trend are explored with the analysis of the novel, standing out the strong presence of the intertextuality and the parody. It is studied also its relation with culture and regional identity concepts, considering the presence of the regionality as a constitutive characteristic of the postmodernist speech.

Críticos e poetas de todos os tempos, da Antiguidade à contemporaneidade, têm formulado teorias a respeito do fenômeno literário poético, com o intuito de compreendê-lo melhor e aperfeiçoá-lo. Mario Quintana não é um deles. O poeta alegretense é avesso a todo tipo de enquadramento e definição poética: não deixou estudos, artigos ou tratados que abordassem a poesia teoricamente. Por outro lado, como muitos poetas contemporâneos, Quintana trata do fenômeno poético ao longo de sua obra. O objetivo da presente pesquisa é recortar uma teoria poética quintaniana a partir de seus textos do Caderno H, obra singular do autor, que apresenta diversos elementos para se pensar a poesia. Mario Quintana is not one of them. The poet, from the south of Brazil, disagrees on every kind of circumscription and definition for the poetry: he left no studies, articles or treatises about poetry. On the other hand, as many contemporary poets, Quintana deals with the poetic phenomenon throughout his composition. The objective of this research is to set up a Quintana´s poetic theory over his texts from Caderno H, a remarkable book, which presents several factors to think about poetry. It´s possible to configure this theory through the comparison of these texts with founding texts of philosophers, critics and poets, selected for their contribution in that regard.

Este estudo apresenta uma reflexão sobre a linguagem na modalidade narrativa denominada história em quadrinhos, a partir do estudo do livro A Turma do Pererê: 365 dias na Mata do Fundão, de Ziraldo. O referido título foi selecionado para estudo por pertencer ao acervo do Programa Nacional Biblioteca da Escola de 2012 (PNBE 2012), destinado aos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental. A pesquisa contempla a análise de procedimentos verbo-visuais empregados na construção do título e que deveriam ser apreciados em situação de leitura escolarizada, a fim de contribuir para o letramento dos estudantes. A investigação justifica-se em virtude do baixo desempenho da capacidade de leitura de estudantes, conforme resultados de avaliações de desempenho, da complexidade dos produtos culturais direcionados ao leitor mirim e, ainda, da inserção de histórias em quadrinhos nos acervos do PNBE. A investigação insere-se no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Educação da Universidade de Caxias do Sul – PPGEd/UCS, na linha de pesquisa Educação, Linguagem e Tecnologia e é parte integrante do projeto de pesquisa “Desafios e acolhimentos da literatura infantil: a mediação de leitura literária”, aprovado pela FAPERGS, que objetiva estudar obras selecionadas para compor acervos dos anos iniciais do Ensino Fundamental do PNBE. Entre teóricos que subsidiam a pesquisa, destacam-se: Mikhail Bakhtin (2006) e Lev S. Vygotsky (1998) com reflexões sobre linguagem; Will Eisner (2012), Moacy Cirne (1972, 1973, 2000), Álvaro de Moya (1993, 2002), Paulo Ramos (2009) e Valdomiro Vergueiro (2009) com aspectos da linguagem dos quadrinhos; Brian Street (1984) e Soares (2010, 2013), com estudos sobre letramento, entre outros. O estudo está organizado em capítulos, discorrendo acerca de (a) relações entre educação e linguagem, considerando a escola como espaço de letramento; (b) processos metodológicos da pesquisa e (c) análise da obra e indicação de elementos presentes na composição do título, que deveriam ser considerados na mediação de leitura literária. A metodologia pautou-se na descrição analítica de aspectos da obra selecionada, a fim de apontar procedimentos empregados na construção dessa modalidade discursiva presente nas bibliotecas escolares brasileiras. Como resultados, destacamos, a partir do corpus estudado, que as histórias em quadrinhos contemplam temas que possibilitam a identificação do estudante com o conflito posto, por apresentar situações presentes no cotidiano e que há constâncias no modo de enunciação das narrativas que precisam ser consideradas em propostas de leitura mediada no ambiente escolar. The book above mentioned was chosen for this study because it is part of 2012´s Library in the School National Program (PNBE 2012), a range of books aimed at the early years of Elementary School in Brazil. The study means to carry out an analysis on enunciation procedures used in the construction of the work, and which can be analyzed in the context of schooled reading, meaning to contribute to students´ literacy learning process. The research can be justified on the fact that students tend to present poor reading skills, as shown in assessments made public about this area, on the complexity of the cultural products aimed at the young reader, and, besides, on the insertion of comic strips in the PNBE range of books. The investigation follows the Education, Language and Technology approach, and it is part of the Post-Graduation in Education Program of the Caxias do Sul University (PPGEd/UCS). It is also part of a research project called “Challenges and welcomings in children´s literature: the mediation of the literary reading”, which has been approved by FAPERGS and which means to study the books that have been short-listed to make up the PNBE range of books for the early years of Elementary Education. Among the authors whose ideas have contributed to the research there are: Mikhail Bakhtin (2006), Lev S. Vygotsky (1998), both of which helped on reflections upon language; Will Eisner (2012), Moacy Cirne (1972, 1973, 2000), Álvaro de Moya (1993, 2002), Paulo Ramos (2009) and Valdomiro Vergueiro (2009), who discuss aspects of the language used in comic strips; Brian Street (1984), with his studies on literacy, and Joseph Schwarcz (1982), who elaborates on the role played by illustration on children´s books, among others. The study is organized in chapters, which contemplate (a) the relations between education and language, considering the school as a space for literacy; (b) the methodological processes of the research, and (c) an analysis of the work and indication of the elements present in the making up of the title, which should be taken into consideration in the mediation of literary reading. It was the analytical description of aspects of the work chosen that guided the method, aiming to pinpoint the procedures used in the construction of this discursive modality present in the Brazilian schools´ libraries. As a result, it stands out in the studied corpus that comic books contemplate themes that make it possible to identify the student with the expressed conflict, as it presents situations that are present in daily life and that there are instances in the way the narrative is enunciated which need to be taken into consideration when mediated reading is proposed in the school environment. Last but not least, one highlights the importance of teachers being familiar with the language used in comic strips, besides its specificity as a genre so as to make it possible for them to contribute for the students´ literacy.

A autora norte-americana Kate Chopin (1850-1904) é conhecida por sua vasta produção de contos ambientados no estado de Louisiana, os quais exibem uma representação das peculiaridades locais. Em vários dos contos, Chopin focaliza a cultura Cajun e propõe uma representação ficcional da língua daquela comunidade (língua crioula Cajun) através da fala dos personagens, como ocorre em "No baile acadiano". Dividida em três capítulos, a presente dissertação almeja investigar se a questão da regionalidade, representada por marcas da cultura local e de identidade cultural dos personagens, influencia na permanência de expressões em língua francesa e língua Cajun no processo tradutório do conto At the ‘Cadian Ball para a língua portuguesa: "No baile acadiano". A pesquisa permitiu constatar que houve influência das questões culturais e de regionalidades na tradução do conto, uma vez que o uso da língua transmite informação social, aspecto exemplificado durante a alternância de códigos entre os personagens dependendo do interlocutor. In several of her stories, Chopin focuses on Cajun culture and proposes a fictional representation of the language of that community (Cajun language) through the speech of the characters, as in "No baile Acadiano". Divided into three chapters, this dissertation aims to investigate whether the issue of regionality, represented by marks of local culture and cultural identity of the characters, influences in the maintenance of expressions in French and Cajun language in the translation process of the short story "At the 'Cadian Ball" into Portuguese: "No baile Acadiano". The research showed that there was influence of cultural issues and regionalities on the translation of the story because the use of language conveys social information, aspect that was exemplified during the code-switching process among characters, depending on the interlocutor. So, it is noticeable that the translator's attitude (Denise Mariné) can be considered as respectful in relation to the author and to linguistic aspects that would be lost if such sentences and/or expressions/phraseologisms were translated into Portuguese.

A revolução tecnológica e os movimentos feministas ocorridos durante o século XX, somados ao fenômeno da globalização do início do século XXI, resultam na alteração da identidade dos indivíduos e a ressignificação de seus espaços de habitar, especialmente, no que diz respeito à condição a que estiveram submetidas as mulheres, sob a égide da dominação masculina. Este trabalho investiga como ocorrem as formas de representação dos espaços de habitar ficcionais em suas dimensões regionais, naturais e domésticas e a condição da identidade feminina, na literatura de escrita feminina contemporânea, tendo como objeto de estudo a obra literária A audácia dessa mulher (1999), de Ana Maria Machado. A partir de uma abordagem culturalista, utilizamos os conceitos de subjetividade dos espaços ficcionais, além de aspectos da filosofia fenomenológica e da geografia humanista, bem como pressupostos da crítica literária feminista, estabelecendo relações com o contexto sócio-histórico representado no romance, examinando como as personagens femininas e seus respectivos espaços de habitar se relacionam. This project investigates how the ways of representation of fictional spaces to live occur in their regional, natural and domestic dimensions, and the condition of the female identity in the contemporary female written literature, having as study object the literary work A audácia dessa mulher (The boldness of this woman) (1999), by Ana Maria Machado. From the culturalist approach, we used the concepts of fictional spaces subjectivity, besides aspects of phenomenological philosophy and humanist geography, as well as assumptions of feminist literary critics, establishing relations with the socio-historical context represented in the romance, examining how the female characters and its spaces of inhabiting relate. We also verify how each space is built from an specific historical, social and cultural condition, culminating in the constitution of symbolic environments rich in signification, from the imposed and/or assumed identities, depending on the existence time of the characters, each one in their specific moments of living.
