SYSTRARNA HÅRDROCK : Diskurser inom kvinnliga hårdrocksmusikers lärandemiljöer

Denna studie utforskar kvinnors förutsättningar för att lära sig hårdrocksmusicerande, med ett fokus på vilken roll olika miljöer spelar för lärandet. Även tidigare forskning inom hårdrock och genusforskning inom musicerande, samt skola och didaktikperspektiv lyfts. Den teoretiska utgångspunkten är diskursiv med en metod för diskursanalys i Foucault-stil. I studien genomförs intervjuer med fyra kvinnliga hårdrocksmusiker.Studiens deltagare har lärt sig att musicera i skola, fritidsgårdar, workshops, i sina band, via internet och vid liveframträdanden. Musiklärare har ökat möjligheterna till lärande för individerna. För vissa har det varit viktigt med förebilder, både manliga och kvinnliga. Bemötande från publik och medmusiker har till stor del varit positivt, men de har även erfarenheter utav sexistiska kommenterar, från bland annat journalister och ljudtekniker. Deltagarna är inte eniga i om de är för eller emot kvotering inom hårdrocksmusiken. Att vara kvinna i ett mansdominerat sammanhang ökar mängden uppmärksamhet som bandet får, vilket kan vara upplevas både positivt och negativt.

Democracy by Force : The Impact of US Military Intervention on Democracy in Post-Cold War Haiti

This paper contributes to the current debate on the democratic impact of US military intervention in the post-Cold War era through a comparative study of two interventions in Haiti in 1994 and 2004. Due to a lack of significant academic work on Haitian democratisation, theory could not be found to sufficiently define Haiti as a political entity. Therefore, the state is defined through the concept of plutocratic democracy; a form of sub-tier democracy. Using this concept, an analytical framework is created to measure the impact of US military intervention in the 1994 and 2004 cases studies. Through a comparison of both cases, it is deduced that US military intervention stunts Haitian democratisation because a large proportion of US political actors support the informal plutocracy in Haiti at the behest of democracy. The claims of this study are supported by an extensive literature review, as well as media sources, official reports and communications from relevant actors.

In the after school program, educators meets students with different disabilities with special needs. The role that the educators are given is to ensure that all students are being seen for who they are and that they receives the support that they need in their daily activities. This study aims at investigating what experiences educators have of working with children with these kind of disabilities and special needs in the after school program. The study was conducted through surveys that were given to educators at six different schools. The results shows that the educators' experiences of working with neccesary adjustments for children with disabilities based on the requirements, skills and financial conditions of the management documents may look different. However, the result is that additional adjustments are important and are performed daily.

This paper constitutes an investigative analysis of how marketing is utilized in public archives in the municipality of Uppsala. By studying and contrasting two local archives and putting these findings in a wider marketing context this paper hopes to answer several questions about how archives market themselves: How important marketing is considered as an aspect of archival work, How highly marketing is prioritized in regards to archive resources and funding, how traditional and social media impacts the marketing landscape and effort of the archives, what differences in methodology occur between the two archives and what constitutes the basis of these differences, and how the economic terminology of marketing is used in archives as cultural institutions. The conclusion is that marketing is becoming an increasingly important aspect of the archival business model and that several channels for marketing archives, both digital and analogue, are seeing greater utilization. Archives are in the process of departing their role as passive conveyors of information and are adopting models for a significantly more active interactions with the public.

Elected children's views on school elections and students councils in Greece

The main aim of this paper is to highlight and investigate children’s perspectives on the ordinance of students’ elections and students’ councils in the country of Greece. This study is motivated by the huge lack of research on the topic in Greece and aim to seek student’s views in regards to students’ councils. This qualitative research endeavors to find how students decide to enter the school elections as candidates, what they hope to achieve through their candidacy and how they perceive democratization in education via these elections. Finally, it is asked from them to evaluate the utility of the whole ordinance of students’ communities. Six students, aged from 15 to 18, who are attending the Greek public High School (the name in Greek is Lykeio) were interviewed; three boys and three girls. The researcher chose one boy and one girl from each of the three years of High School. In order to hear children’s voice and allow them space and time to express their perceptions, semi-structured interviews were conducted with open ended questions while at the same time encouraging them to give clarifications on their answers. A thematic analysis was conducted on the transcribed material of the interviews and four primary themes were emerged: I) being candidates as a personal decision, II) aspirations for being candidates, III) Significance of the ordinance on school elections and on students’ councils and IV) democratization of children through school elections. In conclusion, this paper, by closely examining students’ perspectives and beliefs, seeks to shed new light on the neglected issue of students’ elections and councils in the country of Greece.

Denna studie grundar sig i ett intresse för sång och sångteknik som berör begrepp som genrer, sound och effekter. I enlighet med mitt yrkesval som sångpedagog har även ett intresse för läromedel i sång varit till grund för detta arbete. Syftet med denna studie är att utveckla kunskap om hur ett eget sångundervisningsmaterial konstruerat för en specifik kurs på gymnasiet uppfyller sitt syfte. De frågeställningar som har styrt arbetets gång har behandlat hur en konstruktion av ett sångundervisningsmaterial kan gå till samt hur ett sångundervisningsmaterial kan användas av elever. Detta är delvis ett gestaltande arbete och en kvalitativ studie. Studiens metoder utgörs av aktionsforskning och intervjuer samt prövande av sångövningar och läsning av relevant sånglitteratur. Resultatet presenteras i två delar som besvarar de två frågeställningarna. Första delen av resultatet är ett sångundervisningsmaterial som belyser valda sångtekniska aspekter genom egna konstruerade genrepaletter. Andra delen av resultatet belyser elevernas tankar om sångundervisningsmaterialet.

In 2014 the city of Umeå was initiated as European capital of culture (ECoC). In applications to get the title the municipality of Umeå had used the cities great number of musicians. However, these local musicians were strangely absent in the year long program. Also, in combination with the lack of representation, a couple of beloved local venues used for live music were either moved away from central Umeå or closed down, which led to dissent among local musicians.The aim of this study was to analyse how local musicians in interviews described the conditions of playing live music in Umeå. I was also interested in how they talked about the city as a renowned music town, post-ECoC.Through my interviews I found out that many of my informants missed a specific local venue that was shut down during, but not because of, the ECoC year of 2014. This sense of place and the loss of it were of major importance for my interviewees, as it had a great effect on how they felt about ECoC 2014. I also performed an observation of a liveshow to see how place mattered to the audience and musicians.

Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka musikskapande som pedagogisk aktivitet i musikämnet i grundskolan. Några delsyften har varit att undersöka hur musikskapandemoment planeras och genomför i skolan, undersöka vad det finns för undervisningsmaterial tillgängligt som berör musikskapande, men även beskriva olika pedagogiska strategier vid skapandemoment. Jag har genomfört en litteraturstudie men även en intervjustudie där jag intervjuat fyra verksamma musiklärare i grundskolans senare år. De teorier jag utgått ifrån i mitt arbete är kreativitetsteorier utifrån Wallas och Vygotskij, samt didaktiska teorier efter Nielsen och Johansen samt Lindström och Pennlert. Som tidigare forskning har jag nämnt olika nationella utvärderingar av musikämnet och även berört skapande ur ett historiskt perspektiv. Vidare finns det en kort beskrivning av digitala verktyg i musikundervisningen. Resultatet av denna undersökning har visat att flera lärare har olika tillvägagångsätt och att de saknas färdigt undervisningsmaterial att tillgå som berör skapande. Utifrån intervjuerna har jag fått reda på ett flertal ramfaktorer som jag själv som pedagog både kan och inte kan påverka.
