Social work's wish to do good is situated in the core of the profession, and doing good and helping others is the reason that attracts people to social work in the first place. But what does the profession consider to be good and kind social work? Good intentions and kindness are often connected to the professions values but values shift and differ over time and circumstances, so does the work itself. This literature study attempts to use the framework established by Leslie Margolin to capture what the profession views as a kind and well intended work, question its motives and analyze the findings through a critical lens. The study comprises a seemingly varied material to try to show how good intentions can be found in all aspects of social work. Good intentions are an integral part of how social work understands itself on several different levels, but at the same time the idea of good intentions as a professional value seems to create a disconnect from its professional expertise.

Den evidensbaserade praktiken har blivit en alltmer påtaglig del av socialarbetares praktik. Betoningen på evidensbasering inom socialt arbete i Sverige har implementerats främst genom statliga myndigheter ner i professionen, vilket har bemötts med en generell skepsis av yrkesfältet. HVB-hem för barn och unga är en del av den sociala barnavården som påverkas av den statliga kunskapsstyrningen. Studiens analys fokuserar på hur behandlingspersonal på HVB-hem för barn och unga upplever att den evidensbaserade praktiken påverkar den professionellas möjlighet att bedriva behandlingsvård. Nio semistrukturerade intervjuer har genomförts med behandlingspersonal som arbetar på HVB-hem för barn och unga och som har haft en två-årig eftergymnasial utbildning. Informanternas utsagor har analyserats utifrån professionsteori och symbolisk interaktionism. Resultatet har påvisat att behandlingsarbetet kan innebära en varierande behandlingskontext och att flertalet förutsättningar påverkar yrkesutövningen. Den evidensbaserade praktiken kan däremellan utgöra ett gemensamt yrkesspråk och förhållningssätt på HVB-hem för barn och unga, som kan tolkas och tillämpas olika. Möjligheten att tillämpa evidens kan ses grunda sig i behandlingspersonalens utbildningsbakgrund och yrkesfärdighet. För att kunna arbeta med evidens implicerar det att den professionella kan läsa, förstå och tillämpa evidens inom behandlingsvården. Å ena sidan kan den evidensbaserade praktiken som idé bedömas vara en självklarhet för behandlingspersonal på HVB-hem för barn och unga. Å andra sidan kan definieringen och tillämpningen av den evidensbaserade praktiken bedömas vara oklar och komplicerad i en kontextbunden praktik, som HVB-hem för barn och unga inte sällan är.

La crédibilité des Églises évangéliques a été mise à rudes épreuves par les temps qui courent si l’on se fie à ce qui est rapporté autant dans la presse écrite que dans la presse parlée à la grandeur du pays. L’un des principaux facteurs alimentant la quasi totalité des opinions négatives sur ces lieux réputés être « lieu de la rencontre entre les croyants et le Divin », c’est le manque de rigueur dans la gestion de leurs différentes activités. En dépit des rumeurs et des soupçons, certaines Églises essaient de se démarquer des mauvaises pratiques qui ne font que miner la réputation de la plupart d’entre elles.
Afin d’amener les lecteurs sur des pistes éclairantes, je vais problématiser et proposer, de façon succincte, les différentes étapes du contrôle de gestion dans une Église évangélique grâce à l’observation et à l’analyse de cette pratique.
Mon observation portera sur une Église, en particulier, qui en est à sa douzième année de fonctionnement et qui connaît une importante croissance au fil du temps. En tant que Pasteur de cette Église, tout en m’inspirant de mes expériences personnelles dans la gestion de diverses équipes d’employés dans la Société de Transport de Montréal (STM) , je vais esquisser les grands traits des valeurs privilégiées qui ont été à la base de ce succès. / If it is possible to trust the information reported as much in the print media as in the speaking
press in our days, to the size of the country, the credibility of the evangelic Churches was put
in hard test. When we consider what has been identified to be as one of the man factors
feeding most of the negative opinions on these renowned places to be « space of the meeting
between believers and the Divine », it is the rigorous lack in the management of their various
activities.
We are agreed to say that in spite of the rumours and the suspicious certain Churches are
trying the best of what to be done in order to distance themselves from bad practices which are
undermining the reputation of most of them.
My intent is to bring the readers on enlightening tracks by proposing briefly the various steps
of the strategic management control in an Evangelic Church through the observation and the
analysis of this practice.
That observation will set its focus on a particular Church, which is in its twelfth year of
functioning and which now experiencing an important growth over the time.
As Pastor of this organization I will try to refer to my managerial working experience with
several teams of employees in the « Société de Transport de Montréal » (STM)2 in order to
outline the privileged values which were at the root of this success.

Previous issue date: 2017-10-31 / Nenhuma / A presente pesquisa investiga as práticas educativas na educação não formal e a gestão pedagógica no Centro de Promoção da Infância e da Juventude. A opção metodológica dessa pesquisa foi a da abordagem qualitativa com inspiração na pesquisa-ação. Foram analisados diversos documentos institucionais e os que orientam o convênio público com a Prefeitura de Porto Alegre na área da assistência social e educação. Além disso, realizaram-se entrevistas semiestruturadas com dois educandos, dois educadores e um gestor, juntamente com a observação participante registrada em diário de campo no decorrer da pesquisa. Na análise de conteúdo realizada na perspectiva crítica verificou-se a estrutura e organização da gestão pedagógica com identificação das práticas educativas realizadas nesse espaço; outro eixo de análise foram os objetivos e metodologias que orientam as práticas educativas e a relação entre os documentos e as práticas cotidianas. Conclui-se que a gestão pedagógica, as práticas educativas, os objetivos e metodologias, de modo geral, estão alinhados com as características da educação não formal, no que tange a sua estruturação e organização. Contudo, algumas tensões são constatadas nessa relação, tais como: a necessária prudência para que não se reproduzam as práticas da educação formal nesse espaço não formal; o equilíbrio nas ações que envolvem os objetivos institucionais cristãos, as metas estabelecidas nos projetos em parceria com o poder público e as exigências dos convênios versus a liberdade de ação institucional. Como proposições à Instituição, como decorrência do estudo realizado, indica-se a elaboração do Projeto Político Pedagógico do Centro de Promoção da Infância e da Juventude e o investimento em formação continuada, para a constante qualificação das ações de gestão e práticas educativas da instituição. Para tanto é necessário que a gestão pedagógica garanta a finalidade educativa da Instituição, colocando a dimensão administrativa da gestão a serviço da concretização dos objetivos educacionais. / The present research work investigates the educational practices of the non-formal education and the pedagogical management applied at the Center for the Promotion of Infancy and Youth. The methodology followed in this study was a qualitative approach inspired in research-action. Several instituonal documents were analyzed, with enphasys on those that govern the public agreement with the Porto Alegre City Hall regarding the social assistance and education. Moreover, semi-structured interviews were carried out with (1) two students, (2) two teachers, (3) one manager of the Center, and it was registered in a field diary the observational participations of the researcher during activities and interviews throughout the development of the research in the Center. By the critical analysis of the material collected, it was verified that the structure and organization of the pedagogical administration was aligned with educative practises applied in the Center. Another points analysed in this research included the aims and methodologies that guide the educative practises employed in the Center and how the documents and daily activities are related. From these analyses it was concluded that, in general, the pedagogical administration, educative practises, aims and methodologies are aligned to the characteristics of a non-formal education, when considered aspects of structure and organization. However, some tension could be identified in this relation, to name some: (1) necessary caution to not reproduce formal activities in this non-formal place; (2) the balance of actions regarding to the Christian precepts of the Center; (3) the stablished aims in projects developed in collaboration with the public government and the exigences of these collaborations versus the freedom of Instutional actions. As a result of this study, some directions were proposed to the Center, which including the elaboration of a Public Pedagogical Project of the Center for the Promotion of Infancy and Youth and the investiment in continous trainning of the professionals, which will ultimately lead to the improvement of the administrative actions, and of the educative practises of the Center. To this, it is necessary that the padagogical administration ensures that the main aim of the Center is aducation, managing and investing their resources that will permit the achievement of the educational objectives of the Institution.

This study is an attempt to investigate religious perceptions and its development, function and connection to religious practise within the Swedish extreme metal scene. This is performed mainly by a qualitative method of investigation, studying lyrical content published on a number of extreme metal albums, thereafter relating the lyrical progression to the progession of the scene as a whole and also to the development of individual religious belief and practise. The lyrically expressed manifestations of religiosity within the extreme metal scene prove to be related to religious practise in some cases, most visibly in the Christian parts of the scene.The study also indicates that development of religious expression often is evident regardless of religious preference. This development also regularly relates to an increase in musical evolution and prowess often achieved with increased age and maturity. Musically and lyrically, the extreme metal scene displays transgressive attributes which assist both individual and group in the process of creating identity, meaning and individuality.Experiencing extreme metal, in concert or in the privacy of one´s own home, can be one way of perceiving spirituality in this modern age.

Livssituationer præget af mange komplekse psykosociale og helbredsmæssige problemstillinger fordrer en anden grad af tværfagligt samarbejde i social- og sundhedssektoren. En samtidig øgetfokusering på forebyggelse og sundhedsfremme har øget behovet for udvikling af kundskaber og kompetencer, som kan matche disse udfordringer. Målet med studiet er, at identificere mulige mønstre vedrørende erfaringer med udvikling af fælles kundskaber og kompetencer i tværfaglige team som arbejder forebyggende og sundhedsfremmende. Der er tale om et kvalitativt studie, som bygger på fokusgruppeinterview med deltagelse af 25professionelle fra ni team inden for social-og sundhedssektoren. Otte faggrupper var repræsenteret.Der blev anvendt en memoreret temaguide til interviewene. Grounded theory blev anvendt til dataanalyse. Studiets overordnede kernekategori blev defineret som: ”sociokulturel organisation sætter dagsordenen for udvikling af kundskaber og kompetencer”. Der fremkom yderligere tre hovedkategorier som relaterede sig til kernekategorien: ”det nødvendige professionelle fundament,”den forebyggende og sundhedsfremmende diskurs”, og ”de tavse kundskaber og kompetencer”. Konklusion: Hovedfundet i studiet viste at sociokulturel organisation har væsentlig indflydelse påtværfaglige teams muligheder for at udvikle kundskaber og kompetencer i det forebyggende og sundhedsfremmende arbejde. The overall core categories emerge as: ”social cultural organization sets the agenda for creation of knowledge and competence”. Three additional overall categories related to the core category definedas: ”the needful professional foundation”, “the discourse of prevention and health promotion” and“the tacit knowledge and competence”. Conclusions: The overall findings pointed out the essential influence of the social culturalorganization on the possibility of the interprofessional co-operation to create shared knowledge in the prevention and health promotion. Digital fabrication technologies such as 3D printers entail a radical change to the traditional consumer-producer paradigm. Combined with other recent developments, self-styled Makers design and fabricate sophisticated devices and interactive technologies that would otherwise never have existed. However, stopping the uninitiated novice from making use of this potential is complex CAD software, and a high barrier to entry. In this study a series of workshops explore the potential of combining traditional handicraft materials – such as clay, paper and fabric – with 3D scanning to enable novices to work with 3D printers. Based on the results a set of instruction were created detailing the process of making three types of practical objects, covering the entire process from the making and subsequent 3D scanning of a physical object, to the software clean-up and final 3D printing. The results suggest that whilst the explored method can enable novices to create 3D printable models, a certain mindset is required for the novice to do so effectively. / Innovation +

The thesis deals with the topic of ethical dilemmas of social workers who meet the victims of domestic violence in their practice. The thesis is theoretical in nature, supplemented with research. The first chapter is devoted to the topic of domestic violence, it especially describes specifics of social work with the target group and points to the possible causes of formation of the dilemmas when working with clients. The second part of the diploma theses shortly defines the concept of ethical dilemma and its place in the social work practise. There are also mentioned examples of possible dilemmas in social work. In this part the final theses draws particularly from the authors L. Musil, S. Banks, D. Nedělníková and M. Nečasová. Major part of the second chapter occupies with concrete ethical dilemmas that relate to social work with victims of domestic violence and with their detailed description. The ethic dilemmas were identified on the basis of research made with eight social workers. A semi-structured interview completed by observation was chosen as the method. The last chapter introduces the ethical theories of deontology, utilitarianism and care ethics. It points to the importance and benefit of ethical theories for practise of social work in general and for social workers themselves. Two chosen ethical dilemmas, identified on the basis of research, are reflected from a position of ethical approaches mentioned above.

The safety of nuclear power plants is still an important topic. Protection of nuclear power plants in Czech Republic is on top level, but there is still place for improving. After the Fukushima disaster Czech Republic responded among other things with creating of new security groups on its own nuclear power plants Temelín and Dukovany. It is rescue group Delta team, specialized in heights security of buildings and Search and Rescue in case of some emergency events. Objective of this Master thesis was preparation and evaluation of practice, where specialized activities of Delta team can be tested. In this case it was ability to give first aid and safe transport of a person from height to the ground using climbing techniques. Communication was added to these tested activities because it is important in every event. The practice was planned and after obtaining of needed permission it was realized on April 1st, 2018 on the nuclear power plant Temelín. The practice was evaluated afterwards, what made objective of this Master theses complete. There is research question in this work and it is if rescue group Delta team is prepared for emergency events related to rescue works in heights. It can be answered positively. Especially the part of practice with climbing operations was precise only with little complaints. This Master thesis serves as familiarization material with the rescue group Delta team, which operates on Czech nuclear power plants. It can give basic information for example for job applicants or for persons interested in nuclear power plant security. Prepared practice can be used repeatedly with other participants or for practice of Delta team on nuclear power plant Dukovany.

This thesis analysis in social practise the Language Management Theory - it deals with pedagogical activity of Czech language teachers at secondary schools, based on corrections of writen language tests. The goal of this paper was to find out whether the norm of czech standard language which is contained in codices correspond with the norm that is presented by teachers. This thesis uses modern metdological approaches from the sociolinguistic sphere, especially the method of so called 'Follow-Up Interview'. It also uses the concept of the Social Power Field by Ulrich Ammon and the Language Management Theory by J. V. Neustupný as general methodological basis. As the source of information served authentic tests which has been filled by fifty students of a secondary school a and then corrected by eight czech language teachers. Other sources were Follow-Up Interviews with the teachers and questionnaires. On the basis of these sources the Language Management Theory was researched and also the idea of the teachers about the norm of standard language. This idea was compared to the opinions of other three instances of the Social Power Field. In cases there was something unclear the information were completed from the Follow-Up Interviews.
