Therefore, interdisciplinary Physical Education can ameliorate children learning. The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of an interdisciplinary physical education program on academic achievement and selective attention in children. 60 boys and girls from 4th grade of public elementary brazilian school, underwent a Education by Movement group (EduMove) (n=39, 9.7??yr; 31.6 ?? 6.2 kg; 1.4 ?? 0.1 m; 17.9 ?? 7.2 %G) with math, written and reading classes through physical education activities during a school journey (172.8??16.31bpm) (60min each class, twice a week), and a control group (Con) (n=21, 9.9??0.8yr; 30.0 ?? 5.1 kg; 1.4 ?? 0.1 m; 17.1 ?? 8.6 %G) which participated at traditional classes (92.4??8.9bpm). Thereafter children undertook anthropometric (weight, height, body fat), physical activity level, academic achievement, selective attention test (Stroop Go/NoGo), before and after three months. ANOVA revealed tricipital skinfold reduction for EduMove in comparison with CON at post test (11.8 ?? 5.6 vs 12.7 ?? 5.3; p=0.008), it was observed higher physical activity level for EduMovi vs CON (?? 23.3 vs 2.9 METs; p=0.09). Children showed better results at reading capacity for EduMovi vs CON (65.2 ?? 4.9 vs 64.7 ?? 3.0; p=0.038). Regarding selective attention EduMovi was faster and committed less mistakes in comparison with pre test (236.1 ?? 39.9 vs 327.9 ?? 45.88 ms/%, ?? -90ms e - 2% de erros p=0.09). A short term interdisciplinary physical education program can improve reading capacity, and selective attention in children. These results may suggest that activity breaks during a school journey could contributing to learning.

The scene is composed of four elements: 1) the teacher`s motivational profile; 2) teachers' perceptions about the academic aspects; 3) teachers' perceptions about the contribution for the teaching practice; and 4) teachers' perceptions about permeability of school contexts to new knowledge. From a national survey, we collected 2,738 fully forms. All participants are basic education teachers - students and, between 2011 and 2016 - from professional master courses in teaching of: math (ProfMat), letters (ProfLetras), history (ProfHist??ria), physics (ProFis) and arts (ProfArtes). Despite of some observed weaknesses, the first three elements presented auspicious results. The teachers were prominently self-determined, despite the considerable influence of compensation mechanisms of problematic factors (social and financial) observed in teaching career. Positive perceptions predominated about: the academic features of the courses, however, we observed negative reviews, resembling the academic structure of professional masters to academics, especially the ProfMat; and about the courses contribution for the teaching practice, to a lesser extent about the student performance. With regards to the fourth element, the data pointed to an average permeability of the schools to new knowledge. After merging the four components we observed a promising scenario, so, the PROEB shows effective features, aggregating improvements to the Brazilian basic education.

No. of bitstreams: 1 437323.pdf: 4287591 bytes, checksum: a4736ecf5ed6c11a9d86f23c3c30d3b3 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-01-18 / Tuberculosis re-emerged in the mid 80s and currently about two million people die each year due to this disease. The resurgence of tuberculosis has become a threat to public health. The high susceptibility of HIV-infected patients and the proliferation of multi-drug resistant strains have created the need to develop new therapies. However, no new class of drugs against tuberculosis was developed in the last 45 years. Thus, it becomes imminent need to develop new antituberculosis agents. As purine metabolism could be implicated in mycobacterial latency the purine nucleoside phosphorylase (EC 2.4.2.1) has been proposed as target for development of antibacterial drugs. PNP catalyzes the reversible cleavage in the presence of inorganic phosphate of N-ribosidic bonds of the purine nucleosides and deoxynucleosides, except adenosine. This reaction generates the purine base and ribose (deoxyribose)-1-phosphate. PNP is specific for purine nucleosides in the β-configuration and cleaves the glycosidic bond with inversion of configuration to produce α-ribose-1-phosphate. In this work PNP was crystallized in association with inosine, hypoxanthine and acyclovir, substrate, product and inhibitor, respectively, and data were collected using synchrotron radiation. In addition, molecular dynamics simulations and isothermal titration calorimetry experiments were used to provide detailed information on the dynamic properties and to investigate the profile and thermodynamic affinities of MtPNP associated with these molecules. With obtained results we hope to contribute to the search of new selective inhibitors for MtPNP, since differences between the mycobacterial and human enzyme binding sites have been also identified, making structure-based drug design feasible.

Pesquisa do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul - FAPERGS / The present dissertation aims to approach the ongoing development of teachers and presents the findings of a survey consisting of 14 public school teachers in the Basic Education who act as supervisors of a Biology subproject in the Institutional Scholarship Program for Beginning Teachers (PIBID) in seven Higher Education Institutions of Rio Grande do Sul (RS). The purpose of this paper is to understand the impacts of the Institutional Scholarship Program for Beginning Teachers of the Biology subproject from different Higher Education Institutions for the ongoing development of the supervising teachers who work in the Basic Education schools in Rio Grande do Sul. In order to deepen the understanding about the contributions of PIBID to the ongoing development of teachers, an investigation of the teachers? perceptions from different mesoregions of the State has been proposed. According to the criteria set by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), Rio Grande do Sul (RS) is divided into seven mesoregions (Mid-Western; Mid-Eastern; Metropolitan area of Porto Alegre; Northeast; Northwest; Southeast; South-West), from where the subjects of this survey were taken. For this purpose, a Higher Education Institution in each region was chosen as a sample. The data were collected by means of semi-structured recorded interviews and transcribed accurately by the researcher and analyzed through Discursive Textual Analysis. As the results of the analysis, categories that show an encouraging overview regarding the positive aspects that the program may offer to the ongoing development of teachers came out, especially with regard to the supervisors who work directly with the program. The engagement with the PIBID proposals renew the interest and affection for teaching. According to the teachers? accounts, it is possible to observe significant changes in their teaching practice. From the activities carried out and developed in partnership with the scholars who supervise, we could notice that they adopted a more reflective attitude, reconsidering some perceptions and conceptions regarding their teaching performance. Therefore, from their personal accounts, it is possible to realize that the adoption of new methodologies and practices have become part of their teaching actions. The problem is related with the historicity of music, treating it conceptually through Hegel?s philosophy, in a relation with two conceptions of harmony in the history of academic music: the tonal conception and the twelve-tone conception, represented in this Thesis by its creator, Arnold Schoenberg. The main concepts to be show involve what is necessary to comprehend the philosophy and historicity of music in Hegel?s thought, and the exposition of the first chapter goes as follows: (1) it is presented a global vision of Hegel?s philosophy, that has the logic as its basis, in a broad concept of reason. It is presented the relation between the logical and ontological elements of the triad universal-particular-singular, how the perspective of the negativity as main ontological element, the logical triad of the understanding, dialectical reason and speculative reason and, finally, the logical tool of the Aufhebung, are the conceptual basis of Hegelian philosophy, that has its logical expression unified in the concept of Idea; (2) in the second part is approached the concept of Geist, in which the self-reflective concretion of reason is realized through reflective genesis of human in theoretical (subjective Geist), practical (objective Geist) and cultural (absolute Geist) fields. In this general approach, art is situated in a way that the capacities of the theoretical subject (namely, intuition, representation and thinking) are related with the forms of knowing in the cultural level (absolute Geist), where art, religion and philosophy are situated; (3) in the third part of this chapter the history is established in Geist?s context, where the selfconsciousness of nations are brought to the historical process, culminating in the search for its global unity, what Hegel calls Geistgeschichte; in what follows, art is situated in relation to the context of the absolute Geist and to the Lectures on Philosophy of Art, where the concept and the phenomenon of art are distinguished in its three conceptual levels: the universal, in which it is founded the general concept of art, the Ideal; the particular level, which approaches the historical manifestation of art according to the different kinds of consciousness that they represent; and the singular level, related to the materials and the senses of the artistic manifestations. The second chapter deals with the musical forms of reason, starting with a Hegel?s approach about music and how he limits his thought to the tonal model of harmony, failing to not recognize the immanent historicity of music; it follows with the approach of the tonal musical reason, to deals with the Schoenberg?s twelve-tone model as representative of the atonal musical reason. The third and last chapter relates the event of the Schoenberg?s harmonic conception with Hegel?s philosophy of art, recognizing the logical development of musical inferentialism through history and the place of music in the history of the Hegelian post end of art as aesthetic manifestation and self-reflection of the absolute Geist in its inner life.

The goal is to see how the outskirts of musicians, who had no space in the media before and who are the section of object to be published, reacted before having their stories published there. How was the process of publishing such reports and what happened to them after the publication of their reports, or what did not happen, are questions to be answered as well. The goal is also to check the news and social importance of the vehicle in order to give a fixed, weekly space for artists of all genres, which had no disclosure in traditional media until then. Aiming to represent or take a look in the analysis, we selected five artists at different times, which were the subject of materials in Stars outskirts, between 2009, when the section began, and 2016. Funk Representatives, pop, pagoda and frontiersman, who were interviewed in person and by email, told their stories before they have their material published and brought impressions and facts to support what happened next. After contextualizing journalism, popular journalism, and talking about popular newspapers in the world and the country in the first chapters, research dissects the history o Di?rio Ga?cho newspaper, its peculiarities as popular newspaper and its operation. Ahead, the work tells the story of the emergence of the section that gives space to the outskirts of artists, explains its various stages and shows the changes that Outskirts of Stars spent over seven years. In the interviews, the dissertation tries to analyze critically how the newspaper treated the artists in their stories, if the journal monitorized them and the progress that they had or not after the publication. In order to understand how artists saw themselves before the matter, which was his speech, this dissertation bails conceps used by Dominique Maingueneau in Discourse Analysis, which argues that the speaker's speech reveals the image he gives us a glimpse of himself in process. We identified through this analysis that the paper fulfills a social function more than proper news, aiming to make room for the young artists of the periphery as it does not apply some journalistic rigor to accompany them after the publication of their materials, for example. The newspaper also highlights his social front paper the reader when you try an even closer relationship with your community, by publishing stories outskirts of artists, beginners, who are often neighbors that reader who buys daily newspaper, making it sees in the newspaper, seeing that their community is "perceived" by the communication vehicle.

Child maltreatment (abuse and neglect) is a global public health problem, with serious consequences to the mental health of those who suffer it. Most studies on abuse have not accounted for the different types of physical punishment (physical abuse, spanking), the interaction between different types of abuse (emotional and sexual), awareness of the children on the motivation for being punished, or their long-term subjective impact in the life of those abused. This study aim is to describe the subjective impact in adulthood of abuse occurred in childhood and adolescence, and to analyze the association of abuse experiences in childhood and adolescence, and the use of psychoactive medication as adults. We analyzed data from a large and anonymous online survey (BRAINSTEP). To assess the history of childhood sexual, physical and emotional abuse, we used the CTQ (Childhood Trauma Questionnaire). For those who did not suffer physical abuse from objects, we asked about spanking frequency. Also, for those with any physical punishment history, we assessed if he/she knew the reason for being punished. The subjective impact was assessed in all participants that suffered any abuse. The outcome was assessed, inquiring on their lifetime psychiatric medication use. We found that emotional and sexual abuse were associated with a negative subjective impact, regardless of intensity. In turn, physical punishment not always was associated with a negative subjective impact, and this was greater for those individuals that did not know the reason for being punished. Emotional abuse showed the highest association with increased psychiatric medication use. Subjects that stated a positive subjective impact from physical punishment used less psychiatric medication. These findings suggest that the mechanisms, which associate abuse to negative consequences, are more complex than previously described; its subjective impact and the simultaneous occurrence of emotional abuse must also be taken into consideration.

Among the repercussions that this disease can bring to the fetus are prematurity and low birth weight, which are considered the main determinants of the risk of death in the neonatal period and of the developmental problems in childhood, besides increasing the probability of occurrence of various diseases in adult life. This study objective to identify the prevalence of arterial hypertension during pregnancy and to associates it with prematurity and low birth weight. It is a case-control study carried out in the Public hospital in the municipality of Guanambi-Bahia a, using the statements of live births and medical records of pregnant women. The sample was composed of 207 pregnant women and 212 live newborns, divided into case-group and control group. A research protocol was used to record newborn data, maternal data, gestation/childbirth, and gestational risk factors: hemorrhage, early placental abruption, placenta previa, premature amniorrexis, oligodendrogram, TORCHS, urinary tract infection, alcoholism , diabetes, hypertension, smoking, medication use, drugs and childbirth. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Catholic University of Bras??lia and Secretary of Health of the State of Bahia. The associations of the possible variables that predict prematurity and low birth weight were analyzed using hierarchical models of multiple logistic regression. The prevalence of pregnant women with arterial hypertension during admission to labor in the studied sample was 13.5%. Hypertension was associated with both prematurity and low birth weight. There was a significant association (p <0.05) between gestational risk factors and prematurity. Gestational risk factors and prematurity were also associated with low birth weight (p <0.05). Mothers with hypertension presented 3.47 (95% CI: 1.37-8.81) times more chance of having a preterm child and 2.55 (1.03-6.32) times more chance of having a child with low birth weight (P <0.05); mothers who presented other risk factors that aren't the hypertension had 2.21 (95% CI: 1.13-4.31) times more chance of having preterm (p <0.05) and 1.79 (95% CI: 96-3,36) time more change of having children with low birth weight (p = 0.0681), when they are compared to mothers without gestational risk factors. Mothers with less than seven prenatal visits had 2.31 (1.22-4.34) times more chance of having a preterm child than those with at least 7 visits (p<0.05). Low birth weight was not associated with the number of prenatal visits. Gestational risk factors may induce prematurity and low birth weight. Faced with this outcome, it is advised that pregnant women in this situation should be referred and ensured high-risk follow-up, as well as guided on healthy lifestyles and systematic practice of physical activity.

However, the effect of resistance training (RT) volume on MMP activity in different tissues and serum remains to be determined. Thus, the aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of different RT volume on MMP activity in skeletal muscle, visceral adipose tissue and in the circulation. Twenty-one four-month-old Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups (n=7 per group): sedentary control (SC); RT with four ladder climbs (RT-4; 50%, 75%, 90% and 100% of their maximal carrying capacity) and TR with eight ladder climbs (RT-8 with two sets for each load). The eightweek RT consisted of climbing a 1.1-m vertical ladder with weights secured to the animals??? tails. MMP-2 and -9 activity were analyzed by zymography. RT-8 group displayed higher active MMP-2 activity as compared with SC and RT-4 in skeletal muscle (p < 0.05). There was no significant difference between groups for pro-MMP-2 and intermediate-MMP-2 activity in visceral adipose tissue, while RT-8 group presented lower active MMP-2 activity as compared with SC (p < 0.05). Plasma pro and active MMP-2 and MMP-9 activity was lower in RT-8 as compared with RT-4 (p < 0.05). These results suggest that higher volume RT is able to positively modulate the activity of MMPs in skeletal muscle (up-regulating), visceral adipose tissue and circulation (downregulating). These effects are important for the physiological and homeostatic functions of tissues.
