New building projects make changes in infrastructure and it is the reason of changing some of the characteristics of pricing building plots. For example: transport accessibility and connection to utilities. Side-effect of large-scale residential development is rising the price of land by speculation, because the expensive new buildings are creating places of "Good address". New construction pushing the boundaries of built-up area and in anticipation of further construction will begin trading at higher prices. The aim is to provide a method of determining of new construction on market value of nearby building sites. The project will be primarily focused on building sites as defined by law. Determination of the impact will be made by a comparative method. As comparative examples will be used traded, valued or offered real estates in locations with some new housing constructions (e.g. cadaster Bystrc, Komín, Sadova). The result of the work will be usable for real estate valuation: 1. Methodology for correction of index of variations to effects of new construction. 2. Methodology for correction of index of variations to speculative component of price.

The object of master's thesis is to introduce to the financial derivatives and principals of trading on financial markets. We describe the methods used to search for arbitrage opportunities through statistical indicators and statistical characteristics, which are an integral part of the automatized trading systems. Analysis of the financial market is based on data derived from the interbank market.

Recuerdo con claridad que el caso sobre la desaparición de Ciro Castillo y Rosario fue el primer suceso policial noticioso que llamó mi atención. No por los hechos acontecidos, sino por el extenso seguimiento que le dio la prensa. Fueron varios meses en los que el rostro de ambos protagonistas acaparaban portadas, dominicales, un sinfín de rincones periodísticos. Uno de los principales problemas que se observó en el tratamiento periodístico del suceso fue que se dejaban muchos cabos sueltos al momento de informar. Se soltaban una serie de datos imprecisos que no conducían a la búsqueda de la verdad. Y es precisamente esto lo que conllevaba a que la especulación se convierta en la principal protagonista del hecho policial. Por esa razón, esta investigación tiene como objetivo analizar el tratamiento de la información, en base a la especulación, sobre el caso de Ciro Castillo y Rosario Ponce en la plataforma web de Ojo.pe durante casi siete meses. Para eso se demostrará la forma y dimensión en la que el medio utilizó este recurso que muchos autores consideran como el principal enemigo de la carrera periodística. En las próximas páginas, podrá conocer los orígenes, evolución y características del periodismo policial; y su relación con el concepto de la especulación en el periodismo, tomando como ejemplo a Ojo.pe y su cobertura en la desaparición de Ciro Castillo y Rosario Ponce. Además, podrá reflexionar acerca de las carencias en la ética profesional de aquellos que, se supone, deberían informar siempre con la verdad. / I clearly remember the case of the disappearance of Ciro Castillo and Rosario Ponce in the Colca Valley – Arequipa. It was the first police newsworthy event that caught my attention. Not because of the acts that happened, but because of the extensive follow-up that the journalistic press gave it. It took several months in which the faces of both protagonists monopolized covers, Sunday articles, chronicles, and endless journalistic corners. One of the main problems that was observed in the journalistic treatment of the event was that many loose ends were left at the time of reporting. A series of imprecise data was released that did not lead to the search for the truth. And it is precisely this that led to speculation becoming the main protagonist of the police act. For this reason, the present research aims to analyze the treatment of information, based on the phenomenon of speculation about the case of Ciro Castillo and Rosario Ponce on the web platform Ojo.pe over almost seven months. For this, the form and dimension in which the media used this resource that many authors consider as the main enemy of the journalistic career will be demonstrated. In the next pages, you will be able to know the origins, evolution and characteristics of police journalism; and the relationship with the concept of speculation in journalism, taking as an example Ojo.pe and its coverage of the disappearance of Ciro Castillo and Rosario Ponce. In addition to that, you will be able to reflect on the deficiencies in the professional ethics of those who, it is supposed, should always inform with the truth. / Tesis

The design of microprocessors is undergoing radical changes that affect the performance and reliability of hardware and will have a high impact on software development. Future systems will depend on a deep collaboration between software and hardware to cope with the current and predicted system design challenges. Instead of higher frequencies, the number of processor cores per chip is growing. Eventually, processors will be composed of cores that run at different speeds or support specialized features to accelerate critical portions of an application. Performance improvements of software will only result from increasing parallelism and introducing asymmetric processing. At the same time, substantial enhancements in the energy efficiency of hardware are required to make use of the increasing transistor density. Unfortunately, the downscaling of transistor size and power will degrade the reliability of the hardware, which must be compensated by software. In this thesis, we present new algorithms and tools that exploit speculative and asymmetric execution to address the performance and reliability challenges of multicore architectures. Our solutions facilitate both the assimilation of software to the changing hardware properties as well as the adjustment of hardware to the software it executes. We use speculation based on transactional memory to improve the synchronization of multi-threaded applications. We show that shared memory synchronization must not only be scalable to large numbers of cores but also robust such that it can guarantee progress in the presence of hardware faults. Therefore, we streamline transactional memory for a better throughput and add fault tolerance mechanisms with a reduced overhead by speculating optimistically on an error-free execution. If hardware faults are present, they can manifest either in a single event upset or crashes and misbehavior of threads. We address the former by applying transactions to checkpoint and replicate the state such that threads can correct and continue their execution. The latter is tackled by extending the synchronization such that it can tolerate crashes and misbehavior of other threads. We improve the efficiency of transactional memory by enabling a lightweight thread that always wins conflicts and significantly reduces the overheads. Further performance gains are possible by exploiting the asymmetric properties of applications. We introduce an asymmetric instrumentation of transactional code paths to enable applications to adapt to the underlying hardware. With explicit frequency control of individual cores, we show how applications can expose their possibly asymmetric computing demand and dynamically adjust the hardware to make a more efficient usage of the available resources.

Money can be understood as a disembedding mechanism, detaching social relations from a spatiotemporal context. However, different infrastructural instantiations of money make visible–and invisible–different qualities of money. Through a two-month ethnographic study of El Salvador’s adoption of Bitcoin as a complimentary legal tender, I show how Bitcoin in El Salvador functions as a technology of the imagination that brings future-making and deterritorialization into the forefront of money infrastructure(s).  The thesis is divided into three main parts. First, I briefly introduce how people leverage Bitcoin as a tool for shaping subjective attitudes towards time, and consequently–to inspire hope.  Then, I show how foreigners travelling to El Salvador to use Bitcoin are not doing this out of economic considerations. Rather, this transnational group of Bitcoiners can be characterised as a recursive public that utilises Bitcoin to escape the formation of the nation-state and form a deterritorialized community around shared speculative visions of the future. Bitcoin also allows them to make general infrastructural features of money visible and to contest these. The prime example being money’s disciplinary effects on subjective attitudes towards time. In the last part, I show how deterritorialization and speculative futures also come to the forefront of Salvadoran imaginaries of Bitcoin. We can understand attitudes of fear and attitudes of hope as responses to this imaginary. The thesis concludes by arguing that Bitcoin’s materiality affords imaginaries of disembedded social landscapes, thus rendering visible preexisting infrastructural features of money. However, in the specific context of El Salvador Bitcoin also works as a tool for re-embedding, but only for the Bitcoiners.

In this paper, the price fluctuations of Bitcoin under speculative environment is studied. It has been seen that the market trend points out an existence of a speculative bubble. Over the course of the period from 2014 to 2018, the trend in price movements of bitcoin has proved to be strongly speculative. In that regard, investors might be curious about what drivers might be instrumental in these speculative price changes.  After reviewing of NPV, it was seen that NPV is not applicable to the case of cryptocurrencies due to their nature and lack of free cash flows to base the asset valuation to some fundamental facts. Later, LPPL model is reviewed, however, that also proved to be insufficient since it does not reflect the investor speculations and inform much about price dynamics regarding behavioral finance principles. Then, some papers from the past price fluctuations of bitcoin (for the period from 2010 to 2013) was reviewed and three key variables were determined which might explain price movements. Public interest towards Bitcoin as interest-driven, regulatory and political news about cryptocurrencies as event-driven and VIX as overall investor approach to Bitcoin market have been taken. After running regressions, the only significant variable happened to be public interest and popularity of Bitcoin. Although, for some cases, VIX variable also explain price fluctuations for some intervals, in none of the cases event-driven variable has long- terms effect on price fluctuations under speculative environment. Lastly, a robustness test is also handled considering the “weekend effect” and it has been seen public interest variable again proved to be a significant price determinant.

Ce mémoire prend comme point de départ la question « Après Auschwitz », héritée de Theodor W. Adorno et Jean-François Lyotard, afin de réfléchir sur la place et le rôle de la philosophie après les événements de la Seconde Guerre Mondiale. En employant un outillage conceptuel emprunté à diverses disciplines telles que la sémiologie, la psychanalyse, la philosophie du langage et du marxisme français post- 68, le texte cherche à identifier la nécessité pour la philosophie de continuer à phraser « après Auschwitz », pour ensuite dégager des familiarités qui ont eu et peuvent encore avoir lieu avec la pensée nationale-socialiste. Finalement, le mémoire s’achève sur une discussion sur la logique – qu’il conviendra alors de qualifier de « spéculative » - qui œuvre à rendre compossibles la nécessité philosophique de phraser, le risque du retour dans la barbarie, de même que la possibilité omniprésente du différend, concept central bien qu’il ne soit pas systématiquement nommé. / This thesis takes as its starting point the question “After Auschwitz”, written by Theodor W. Adorno and Jean-François Lyotard, in order to reflect on the place and role of philosophy after the events of the Second World War. By employing conceptual tools borrowed from various disciplines such as semiology, psychoanalysis, philosophy of language and post-68 French Marxism, the text seeks to identify the need for philosophy to continue to phrase "after Auschwitz", in order to then extricate familiarities that have had and can still take place with National Socialist thought. Finally, the thesis ends with a discussion of logic – which should then be described as “speculative” – which works to make compossible the philosophical necessity of phrasing, the risk of returning to barbarism, as well as the ubiquitous possibility of the différend, a central concept although it is not systematically named.

Seit dem in den 1990er Jahren proklamierten Animal Turn befasst sich das interdisziplinäre Forschungsfeld der Human-Animal Studies mit dem von Missverständnissen geprägten Verhältnis zwischen Mensch und Tier. Das Bestreben liegt darin, Disziplinen wie Biologie, Philosophie, Soziologie, Anthropologie und Geschichte zusammenzuführen und einen Perspektivwechsel hin zur Anerkennung nichtmenschlicher Wirkmächtigkeit und ihrer Agency vorzunehmen. Ich werde zu Beginn meiner Arbeit nachvollziehen, in welchem Maße die religiöse, wissenschaftliche und philosophische Zentrierung des Menschen immer wieder dazu gedient hat, jedwede Form von Unterdrückung und Gewalt an sogenannten Anderen zu legitimieren. Dies war und ist nur dadurch möglich, dass sich der angebliche Universalismus des Menschen aus dem Konstrukt des heterosexuellen, weißen Mannes speist(e), dessen Männlichkeit als geschlechtslos, dessen „Weißsein als unrassifiziert, Cis-Geschlechtlichkeit als echt, und so weiter“ (Laboria Cuboniks 2015: 26) erscheint. So wurden „Tiere“, „Frauen“ und „Schwarze“ in abendländischen Diskursen immer wieder als „Andere“ konstruiert, diffamiert, diskriminiert und eliminiert. Während das Überleben auf einem gemeinsamen Planeten einen ebenso bescheidenen wie essentiellen Anspruch formuliert, bleibt darüber hinaus auf kommende Gemeinschaften zu hoffen, in der unterschiedlichen Seins- und Beziehungsweisen nicht mit Gewalt und Unterdrückung, sondern gegenseitigem Respekt, Neugierde und „uneigennütziger Solidarität“ (Vgl. Ebd.: 33) begegnet wird, sowohl zwischen Menschen als auch zwischen Spezies. Die Bestrebungen der Human-Animal Studies sind in diesem Sinne basal für zukünftige, fürsorglichere Gesellschaften, die erst mit der Überwindung des Anthropozentrismus möglich sind. Wie kommen wir endlich von den etablierten Positionen im Nachdenken über humans und nonhuman animals hin zu einer Neukonstitution von Beziehungsweisen und zu der Anerkennung produktiver Differenzen? Einen eigenen Wissenskanon zu formulieren, ist eine wirksame Intervention, um den hartnäckigen Fundamenten den Kampf anzusagen. Diese Arbeit ist in dieser Hinsicht auch eine Dokumentation meiner Recherche nach Verbündeten, deren Gemeinsamkeiten und produktiven Differenzen. Die titelgebenden ANIMAL REMINDER leihe ich mir von Martha C. Nussbaum und etabliere sie im Laufe der Arbeit als eine Figur der Transition: ANIMAL REMINDER verweisen auf die Probleme und Potentiale an porösen Grenzübergängen. Deren Koordinaten sind variabel und einer Vielzahl an Interpretationen und Irritationen unterworfen. ANIMAL REMINDER kommentieren zeitgenössische Diskurse an den Schnittstellen von feministischer Theorie, Kunst, Technik und Wissenschaft und lassen sie in unterschiedlichen Bedeutungsfacetten changieren. Sie durchwirken und verbinden die folgenden Kapitel auf der Suche nach widerständigen Praktiken: ANIMAL REMINDER erscheinen in der Liebe, in Verwandtschaften, bei der Reproduktion, in Architekturen, als Abjekte und Monster. Sie sind trans*, sie atmen und sind belebt. Ausgehend von der Ordnung der Lebewesen als nur eine mögliche von vielen, werde ich die Möglich- und Wirklichkeiten der Transformation sozialer Beziehungen und deren Bedingungen erforschen. Interdependenzen zwischen menschlichen und speziesübergreifenden Beziehungen werde ich fortlaufend bespiegeln. Mit dieser Arbeit erhebe ich keinen Anspruch auf Vollständigkeit, ihre Form der künstlerischen Recherche ist unabgeschlossen und durchlässig. Mein Umgang mit Sprache, Verknüpfung und Übersetzung ist spielerisch und beharrt auf ebendieser Unabgeschlossenheit. Jack Halberstam benutzt in seinen* Arbeiten den Asterisk nicht zur Markierung eines alternierenden Geschlechts, sondern drückt damit die „prinzipielle Konstruiertheit und Instabilität jeglicher (Geschlechts-)Identität“ (Halberstam 2021: 10) aus. „Trans* sei demnach weder als ein Seinszustand noch als ein zielgerichteter Übergang zu verstehen, sondern als genuine Unabgeschlossenheit ungewisser Seinsweisen, wie – aus einer queer-dekonstruktiven Perspektive – in letzter Konsequenz alle Identitäten betrachtet werden müssen.“ (Ebd.: 11) So bestand laut Halberstam auch der Nutzen des Begriffs queer nie darin, etwas zu beschreiben: „Queer sollte nie ein Begriff sein, mit dem sich jemand vollständig identifiziert, den jemand für sich in Anspruch nimmt […] Die Intention war vielmehr, mit queer ein kritisches Verhältnis zu Identität auszudrücken.“ (Halberstam 2007: 30) Dieses kritische Verhältnis ist für ANIMAL REMINDER wesentlich. Queere Diskurse sind in einer zweiten Hinsicht für diese Arbeit von Bedeutung: So wie das Tier als Prototyp für die Konstruktion von Andersartigkeit dient(e), können die Verhandlungen am Geschlecht als beispielhaft für die kulturelle Tradierung des Verhältnisses von Norm und Tatsache gelesen werden (Vgl. Laboria Cuboniks 2015: 22). Dieses Verhältnis ist laut Laboria Cuboniks nie festgelegt, sondern der unendlichen Aufgabe des Entwirrens unterlegen (Vgl. Ebd.: 28).
