The present work is applied to the field of French crisis management, and specifically to the crisis response phase which follows a major event, like a flood or an industrial accident. In the aftermath of the event, crisis cells are activated to prevent and deal with the consequences of the crisis. They face, in a hurry, many difficulties. The stakeholders are numerous, autonomous and heterogeneous, the coexistence of contingency plans favours contradictions and the interconnections of networks promotes cascading effects. These observations arise as the volume of data available continues to grow. They come, for example, from sensors, social media or volunteers on the crisis theatre. It is an occasion to design an information system able to collect the available data to interpret them and obtain information suited to the crisis cells. To succeed, it will have to manage the 4Vs of Big Data: the Volume, the Variety and Veracity of data and information, while following the dynamic (velocity) of the current crisis. Our literature review on the different parts of this architecture enables us to define such an information system able to (i) receive different types of events emitted from data sources both known and unknown, (ii) to use interpretation rules directly deduced from official business rules and (iii) to structure the information that will be used by the stake-holders. Its architecture is event-driven and coexists with the service oriented architecture of the software developed by the CGI laboratory. The implemented system has been tested on the scenario of a 1/100 per year flood elaborated by two French forecasting centres. The model describing the current crisis situation, deduced by the proposed information system, can be used to (i) deduce a crisis response process, (ii) to detect unexpected situations, and (iii) to update a COP suited to the decision-makers.

The increasing mobility of people and resources demands additional efforts in exploring new capacities, offered by different technologies, which allows the supply of information and services in any place, any time and through any device, objective of the worldwide collaboration and communication web, known as Internet. A Computational Model for the Construction of Knowledge-based Collaborative Learning Distributed ApplicationsCaballé Llobet, Santi 17 September 2008 (has links)
An important research topic in Computer Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) is to explore the importance of efficient management of event information generated from group activity in collaborative learning practices for its further use in extracting and providing knowledge on interaction behavior. The essential issue here is first how to design a CSCL platform that can be used for real, long-term, complex collaborative problem solving situations and which enables the instructor to both analyze group interaction effectively and provide an adequate support when needed. Secondly, how to extract relevant knowledge from collaboration in order to provide learners with efficient awareness and feedback as regards individual and group performance and assessment. The achievement of these tasks involve the design of a conceptual framework of collaborative learning interaction that structures and classifies the information generated in a collaborative application at several levels of description. Computational models are then to realize this conceptual approach for an efficient management of the knowledge produced by the individual and group activity as well as the possibility of exploiting this knowledge further as a metacognitive tool for real-time coaching and regulating the collaborative learning process. In addition, CSCL needs have been evolving over the last years accordingly with more and more demanding pedagogical and technological requirements. On-line collaborative learning environments no longer depend on homogeneous groups, static content and resources, and single pedagogies, but high customization and flexibility are a must in this context. As a result, current educational organizations' needs involve extending and moving to highly customized learning and teaching forms in timely fashion, each incorporating its own pedagogical approach, each targeting a specific learning goal, and each incorporating its specific resources. These entire issues certainly represent a great challenge for current and future research in this field. Therefore, further efforts need to be made that help developers, technologists and pedagogists overcome the demanding requirements currently found in the CSCL domain as well as provide modern educational organizations with fast, flexible and effective solutions for the enhancement and improvement of the collaborative learning performance and outcomes. This thesis proposes a first step toward these goals.Índex foliat:The main contribution in this thesis is the exploration of the importance of an efficient management of information generated from group activity in Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning (CSCL) practices for its further use in extracting and providing knowledge on interaction behavior. To this end, the first step is to investigate a conceptual model for data analysis and management so as to identify the many kinds of indicators that describe collaboration and learning and classify them into high-level potential categories of effective collaboration. Indeed, there are more evident key discourse elements and aspects than those shown by the literature, which play an important role both for promoting student participation and enhancing group and individual performance, such as, the impact and effectiveness of students' contributions, among others, that are explored in this work. By making these elements explicit, the discussion model proposed accomplishes high students' participation rates and contribution quality in a more natural and effective way. This approach goes beyond a mere interaction analysis of asynchronous discussion in the sense that it builds a multi-functional model that fosters knowledge sharing and construction, develops a strong sense of community among students, provides tutors with a powerful tool for students' monitoring, discussion regulation, while it allows for peer facilitation through self, peer and group awareness and assessment. The results of the research described so far motivates the development of a computational system as the translation from the conceptual model into a computer system that implements the management of the information and knowledge acquired from the group activity, so as to be efficiently fed back to the collaboration. The achievement of a generic, robust, flexible, interoperable, reusable computational model that meets the fundamental functional needs shared by any collaborative learning experience is largely investigated in this thesis. The systematic reuse of this computational model permits a fast adaptation to new learning and teaching requirements, such as learning by discussion, by relying on the most advanced software engineering processes and methodologies from the field of software reuse, and thus important benefits are expected in terms of productivity, quality, and cost. Therefore, another important contribution is to explore and extend suitable software reuse techniques, such as Generic Programming, so as to allow the computational model to be successfully particularized in as many as situations as possible without losing efficiency in the process. In particular, based on domain analysis techniques, a high-level computational description and formalization of the CSCL domain are identified and modeled. Then, different specific-platform developments that realize the conceptual description are provided. It is also explored a certain level of automation by means of advanced techniques based on Service-Oriented Architectures and Web-services while passing from the conceptual specification to the desired realization, which greatly facilitates the development of CSCL applications using this computational model.Based on the outcomes of these investigations, this thesis contributes with computational collaborative learning systems, which are capable of managing both qualitative and quantitative information and transforming it into useful knowledge for all the implicated parties in an efficient and clear way. This is achieved by both the specific assessment of each contribution by the tutor who supervises the discussion and by rich statistical information about student's participation. This statistical data is automatically provided by the system; for instance, statistical data sheds light on the students' engagement in the discussion forum or how much interest drew the student's intervention in the form of participation impact, level of passivity, proactivity, reactivity, and so on. The aim is to provide both a deeper understanding of the actual discussion process and a more objective assessment of individual and group activity. This information is then processed and analyzed by means of a multivariate statistical model in order to extract useful knowledge about the collaboration. The knowledge acquired is communicated back to the members of the learning group and their tutor in appropriate formats, thus providing valuable awareness and feedback of group interaction and performance as well as may help identify and assess the real skills and intentions of participants. The most important benefit expected from the conceptual model for interaction data analysis and management is a great improvement and enhancement of the learning and teaching collaborative experiences. Finally, the possibilities of using distributed and Grid technology to support real CSCL environments are also extensively explored in this thesis. The results of this investigation lead to conclude that the features provided by these technologies form an ideal context for supporting and meeting demanding requirements of collaborative learning applications. This approach is taken one step further for enhancing the possibilities of the computational model in the CSCL domain and it is successfully adopted on an empirical and application basis. From the results achieved, it is proved the feasibility of distributed technologies to considerably enhance and improve the collaborative learning experience. In particular, the use of Grid computing is successfully applied for the specific purpose of increasing the efficiency of processing a large amount of information from group activity log files.

- (Die Dissertation ist veröffentlicht im Logos Verlag Berlin GmbH, http://www.logos-verlag.de, ISBN: 978-3-8325-2402-9) / With Service-oriented Architectures (SOA) companies are facing a paradigm shift towards services as the key unit of their enterprise architectures. An exploitation of the potential of Service-oriented Architectures is up to the applicability of semi-formal business models for a transformation into service compositions. However, several conceptual shortcomings prevent semi-formal models from being a suitable resource of an automated transformation process. Problems result from a multitude of modeling aims, objects, and procedures. Enhancements in order to solve these problems require both systematic preparation, and a methodical approach. This thesis provides a modeling method for business process-oriented SOA design using a meta-model based approach. An integrated modeling environment gives an overview of business requirements and allows appropriate assignment of SOA services to the business functions at the same time. The research refers to the example of process-oriented analysis and optimization of administrative procedures in German universities.

第四方物流中協同作業之研究-深化SOA方法論 / A Study of Collaboration in Fourth Party Logistics - Exploiting SOA Methodology陳鐘源, Chen, Bell Unknown Date (has links)
Facing international competition, global enterprises are developing the international optimal resource allocation. Global supply chain is necessary due to the progress in transportation and communication technique. These enterprises focus in core business and outsource others. Global logistics is first priority in outsourcing, because its coverage is wide and it is very complex.
The global logistics market grows bigger and bigger, because the global market are progressing towards specialization and outsourcing. The global logistics and supply chain need varied and integrated services. In the violent competitive environment, the one who can provide complete, precise, quick, and integrated service will dominate the market.
This research will first discuss the definition and characteristics of global logistics, then discuss 3PL and 4PL activities and core competence. Since the service and business scope of logistics industry is very wide; and given the constitution of Taiwanese global logistics service providers, the only solution to improve the competitiveness of Taiwan local logistics industry is to integrate the logistics industry both vertically and horizontally with the support of the information technology. This paper will discuss the integration solution and the best candidate to integrate the logistics industry, followed by the discussion to build collaboration commerce system by SOA.
Warehouse/logistics centers and freight forwarders are best candidates to develop 4PL. These two businesses are best leaders in logistics value chain. Base on these leaders’ capacity to extend to upstream and downstream partners by strategic alliances, they can build full logistics value chain easily and quickly. But the organization structure of strategic alliance is loose. If they want to run the 4PL organization efficiently, they must use collaboration commerce, especially, by information technique. The research confers to develop collaboration commerce using SOA. SOA is a new concept. Right now, there is no full methodology to refer. From the results of the research, we prove that using Zachman framework principle can make SOA or Web service implementation simple and feasible.

Previous issue date: 2013-01-31 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cient?fico e Tecnol?gico / With the advance of the Cloud Computing paradigm, a single service offered by a
cloud platform may not be enough to meet all the application requirements. To fulfill
such requirements, it may be necessary, instead of a single service, a composition of
services that aggregates services provided by different cloud platforms. In order to
generate aggregated value for the user, this composition of services provided by
several Cloud Computing platforms requires a solution in terms of platforms
integration, which encompasses the manipulation of a wide number of noninteroperable
APIs and protocols from different platform vendors. In this scenario,
this work presents Cloud Integrator, a middleware platform for composing services
provided by different Cloud Computing platforms. Besides providing an
environment that facilitates the development and execution of applications that use
such services, Cloud Integrator works as a mediator by providing mechanisms for
building applications through composition and selection of semantic Web services
that take into account metadata about the services, such as QoS (Quality of Service),
prices, etc. Moreover, the proposed middleware platform provides an adaptation
mechanism that can be triggered in case of failure or quality degradation of one or
more services used by the running application in order to ensure its quality and
availability. In this work, through a case study that consists of an application that use
services provided by different cloud platforms, Cloud Integrator is evaluated in terms
of the efficiency of the performed service composition, selection and adaptation

Formalising non-functional requirements embedded in user requirements notation (URN) modelsDongmo, Cyrille 11 1900 (has links)
The growing need for computer software in different sectors of activity, (health, agriculture,
industries, education, aeronautic, science and telecommunication) together with the
increasing reliance of the society as a whole on information technology, is placing a heavy
and fast growing demand on complex and high quality software systems. In this regard, the
anticipation has been on non-functional requirements (NFRs) engineering and formal methods.
Despite their common objective, these techniques have in most cases evolved separately.
NFRs engineering proceeds firstly, by deriving measures to evaluate the quality of the constructed
software (product-oriented approach), and secondarily by improving the engineering
process (process-oriented approach). With the ability to combine the analysis of both functional
and non-functional requirements, Goal-Oriented Requirements Engineering (GORE)
approaches have become de facto leading requirements engineering methods. They propose
through refinement/operationalisation, means to satisfy NFRs encoded in softgoals at an
early phase of software development. On the other side, formal methods have kept, so far,
their promise to eliminate errors in software artefacts to produce high quality software products
and are therefore particularly solicited for safety and mission critical systems for which
a single error may cause great loss including human life.
This thesis introduces the concept of Complementary Non-functional action (CNF-action)
to extend the analysis and development of NFRs beyond the traditional goals/softgoals
analysis, based on refinement/operationalisation, and to propagate the influence of NFRs
to other software construction phases. Mechanisms are also developed to integrate the formal
technique Z/Object-Z into the standardised User Requirements Notation (URN) to
formalise GRL models describing functional and non-functional requirements, to propagate
CNF-actions of the formalised NFRs to UCMs maps, to facilitate URN construction process

Fusion de données géoréférencées et développement de services interopérables pour l’estimation des besoins en eau à l’échelle des bassins versants / Geospatial data fusion and development of interoperable services to assess water needs at watershed scaleBeaufils, Mickaël 04 December 2012 (has links)
Nowadays, preservation of the environment is a main priority. Understanding of environmental phenomena requires the study and the combination of an increasing number of heterogeneous data. Several international initiatives (INSPIRE, GEOSS) aims to encourage the sharing and exchange of those data.In this thesis, the interest of making scientific models available on the web is discussed. The value of using applications based on geospatial data is demonstrated. Several methods and means that satisfy the requirements of interoperability are also purposed. Our approach is illustrated by the implementation of models for estimating agricultural and domestic water requirements. Those models can be used at different spatial scales and temporal granularities. A prototype based on a complete web service oriented architecture was developed. The tool is based on the OGC standards Web Feature Service (WFS), Sensor Observation Service (SOS) and Web Processing Service (WPS).Finally, taking into account the imperfections of the data is also discussed with the integration of methods for sensitivity analysis and uncertainty propagation.
