Relaciona el nivel de linfocitos T CD4 y las principales lesiones bucales en pacientes con el VIH-SIDA del Hospital Nacional Hipólito Unanue (Lima Perú). Se realizó un estudio observacional, analítico y de corte transversal en 65 pacientes hospitalizados entre julio y octubre del 2018, a los cuales se realizó un examen clínico de la cavidad bucal, para evaluar la presencia de manifestaciones bucales asociadas al VIH-SIDA; también se obtuvo el nivel de linfocitos T CD4 de las historias clínicas, clasificándolas en tres categorías (mayor a 500 cel/mm3; entre 200-500 cel/mm3 y menor a 200 cel/mm3). Encuentra que la edad promedio de los pacientes evaluados fue 39,24 años. El nivel promedio de linfocitos T CD4 fue 237,65 cel/mm3. El 56,9% de pacientes presentaron lesiones bucales, siendo la mayoría hombres (52,28%). La lesión más frecuente fue la candidiasis oral (44,6%) y la categoría que presentó mayor frecuencia de lesiones orales fue la menor a 200 cel/mm3 con un 38,5%, encontrándose una asociación entre el nivel de linfocitos T CD4 y la presencia de lesiones bucales (p<0,05). Concluye que la candidiasis oral fue la lesión oral asociada al VIH más frecuente, encontrándose una relación significativa entre el nivel de linfocitos T CD4 menor a 200 cel/mm3 y la candidiasis oral. / Tesis

Abstract In the compilation of the urban chronicles by Pedro Lemebel, Loco afán. Crónicas de sidario, the representation of the body is highlighted by the frequency in which it appears, as well as by the different forms in which it is presented. Several matters such as sexual diversity, AIDS, social injustice and marginalization, are given corporality and make way for connecting different aspects of the chilean society. The body as a phenomenon is unfolded in every social and cultural practice and by focusing on its representations, we can observe the meanings and connotations in which a political discourse is distinguished.

Since 2016 the external communication of the Swedish international development cooperation agencys (Sida) has been governed by the ‘Strategi för informations- och kommunikationsverksamhet, inklusive genom organisationer i det civila samhället, 2016–2022’. Government investigations have shown that the strategy leaves room for divergent interpretation due to abstract formulations and ambiguous objectives. Several researchers have studied How ambiguous strategy is interpreted by organizational members. However, there are no studies that, beyond the scope of profession-related factors, examine Why the interpretationsappear in any given way. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis is to analyze the interpretation process of an ambiguous strategy, by examining how cognitive, social and structural factors affect how employees at the communication units of Sida and Sida Partnership Forum interpret, and (consequently) enact the 'Strategy for information and communication activities 2016-2022 '. Based on the idea of accumulative understanding, the thesis theoretical framework consisted of Eric Eisenberg's Strategic Ambiguity, Abdallah &amp; Langley's dimensions of the strategy process, and Hall's encoding/decoding model for communication. We used a combination of strategy documents and semi-structured interviews to answer the research questions through an interpretive discourse analysis. Ascertained organizational discourses were linked back to the theories of Strategic ambiguity and encoding/decoding to draw conclusions from chosen theoretical perspective. We found that organizational socialization, governing signals and actors as well as formal structures for strategy planning caused divergent interpretations and perceptions of the InfoCom-strategy. We also found that how the employees interpreted the InfoCom strategy affects how it was enacted in their work. Since the strategy does not offer clear directives, the enactment seems to differ depending on the employee's position at Sida or SPF.

Le VIH est la cause de la pandémie de SIDA depuis les années 1980. Avec plus d’un million de nouvelles infections chaque année, un vaccin prophylactique est indispensable pour bloquer de façon définitive la propagation du virus. Parmi les stratégies vaccinales, l’induction d’anticorps neutralisants à large spectre est une des plus prometteuses, car ceux-ci pourraient protéger contre l’infection par la grande diversité génétique des souches de VIH circulantes dans le monde. A ce jour, aucun immunogène n’a permis l’induction de tels anticorps, mais ils ont été isolés à partir de personnes infectées par le VIH. En effet, une faible fraction d’individus infectés développe des anticorps neutralisants à large spectre qui ciblent des régions vulnérables et conservées de la glycoprotéine d’enveloppe. La région du patch riche en mannose, centrée autour du glycane en position N332 de la gp120, est la plus fréquemment ciblée, et est à cet égard attractive d’un point de vue vaccinal.Afin de mieux comprendre comment se développent les anticorps ciblant le patch riche en mannose, nous avons étudié un donneur sélectionné de la cohorte du Protocole C de l’International AIDS Vaccine Initiative, et ayant une activité neutralisante sérique exceptionnelle. Nous avons isolé, à partir des cellules sanguines de cet individu, deux lignées d’anticorps ciblant la région N332, que nous avons caractérisées pour leur activité neutralisante et dont nous avons cartographié l’épitope. Nous avons également cartographié le paratope d’une lignée d’anticorps issue d’un autre donneur du Protocole C ciblant également la région N332. Nos résultats font apparaître la diversité de solutions adoptées pour atteindre une neutralisation à large spectre contre cette région. Les études de lignées, telles que nous l’avons entrepris, permettent d’appréhender comment la coévolution anticorps-virus conduit à la sélection d’anticorps neutralisants à large spectre. Le but ultime est d’utiliser les connaissances ainsi générées, pour mettre au point des immunogènes et des protocoles d’immunisations, visant à induire des lignées d’anticorps spécifiques et à conduire leur évolution vers la neutralisation à large spectre. / HIV has been the cause of the AIDS pandemic since the 1980s. With over a million new infections each year, a prophylactic vaccine is needed to stop the virus spread. Among vaccine strategies, the induction of broadly neutralizing antibodies is one of the most promising, as they could protect against infection by the huge genetic diversity of circulating HIV strains. To date, no immunogen has induced such antibodies, but they have been isolated from HIV infected people. Indeed, a small fraction of infected individuals eventually develops broadly neutralizing antibodies that target vulnerable and conserved sites of the envelope glycoprotein. The region of the high-mannose patch, centred around a glycan at position N332 of gp120, is the most frequently targeted, and is therefore attractive from a vaccination standpoint.In order to better understand how antibodies targeting the high-mannose patch develop, we studied a donor selected from the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative Protocol C cohort with exceptional serum neutralizing activity. We isolated two antibody lineages targeting the N332 region from this individual's blood cells, which we characterized for their neutralizing activity and mapped their epitope. We also mapped the paratope of an antibody lineage from another Protocol C donor, also targeting the N332 region. Our results show the great diversity of solutions to achieve broad neutralization against this region. Lineage studies, as we have undertaken, provide an understanding of how antibody-virus coevolution leads to the selection of broadly neutralizing antibodies. The ultimate goal is to use this knowledge to develop immunogens and immunization protocols, to induce specific antibody lineage and drive their evolution towards broad neutralization.

The author's desire to show, to reveal and to expose himself transforms his private universe into a space where intimacy becomes extimacy. His exhibitionist project is accomplished with the assistance of a literary genre, autofiction, the new postmodern cosmos of the "I". This thesis seeks to analyse the notion and the modalities of his "I", intimately connected to the themes of body, illness, life, death and resurrection, in his literary chronicles of AIDS, To the Friend Who Did Not Save My Life, The Compassionnate Protocol, Modesty, or Immodesty and The Man in the Red Hat. The "I" of the autodiegetic narrator appears as fragmentary and unstable. His "self" configures and unconfigures at the same time. There is a sense of alienation from his own body which has been dramatically altered by the illness. As a consequence, we witness both physical and psychological defragmentation of the subject. The body, constituent of the "I" identity, gradually transforms into an impersonal "it", an entity apart. This paper is based on the development of a strategic plan for the Program to Support the Self-Help of people living with HIV Positive conditions (PROSA) from 2015 to 2022. The plan was developed using the strategic process proposed by Dr. Fernando D’Alessio. Through the use of the plan, a vision was developed with the purpose of changing PROSA from a struggling non-governmental organization (NGO) to one that is driven, financially sustainable and internationally competitive. In the past, PROSA has been successful in influencing legislations that promoted the well-being of the HIV/AIDS infected section of the Peruvian population. Unfortunately, the company has not been as influential in recent years and furthermore, it was realized that a significant proportion of those currently infected with HIV/AIDS in Peru have little, irregular or, in some cases, no access to antiretroviral treatments, as well there still exist high levels of stigma and discrimination, among other problems. The organization has not been able to tackle these issues as a result of inadequate funding and staffing inefficiencies, as well as other sources of internal ineffectiveness. As a result, the present strategic plan has developed six long-term objectives that propose to improve financial sustainability, enhance the workforce, increase the organization’s projects and recognition, ensure the availability of treatments for HIV/AIDS and related diseases, increase public knowledge and awareness of sexual health, and significantly reduce discrimination against those infected with HIV/AIDS. These long-term objectives will be reached by implementing six key strategies proposed for the organization. It is also proposed that the implementation of the Balanced Scorecard will monitor the attainment and measure the results of the short-term objectives, who will help reach the organization’s long-term objectives and vision. The realization of all of the proposed objectives and strategies will be a joint effort between all members of the organization and will ultimately benefit the society. / El presente documento se basa en el desarrollo de un plan estratégico para el Programa de Soporte a la Autoayuda de Personas Seropositivas (PROSA) a partir de 2015 a 2022. El plan fue desarrollado utilizando el proceso estratégico propuesto por el Dr. Fernando D’Alessio. El proceso estratégico desarrolla una visión y objetivos a largo plazo que llevarán a PROSA, una organización no gubernamental (ONG), a ser una organización comprometida, financieramente sostenible y competitiva a nivel internacional. En el pasado, PROSA ha tenido éxito en generar incidencia política para el beneficio de las personas viviendo con VIH/SIDA en el país. Sin embargo, la empresa no ha sido tan influyente en los últimos años y, además, se ha dado cuenta de que una proporción significativa de la población actualmente infectada con VIH /SIDA en el Perú tienen poco, irregular o, en algunos casos, ningún acceso a tratamientos antirretrovirales, así como también aún existen altos niveles de estigma y discriminación, entre otros problemas. La organización no ha podido hacer frente a estas cuestiones como resultado de la insuficiencia de fondos y otras fuentes de ineficacia interna. Como resultado, el plan estratégico ha desarrollado seis objetivos a largo plazo que involucran mejorar la sostenibilidad financiera de la organización, mejorar su fuerza laboral, aumentar el número de proyectos y su reconocimiento, asegurar la disponibilidad de tratamientos para el VIH/SIDA y enfermedades relacionadas, aumentar el conocimiento público de la salud sexual y reducir la discriminación hacia estas comunidades. Los objetivos a largo plazo se alcanzarán mediante la implementación de seis estrategias propuestas para la organización. Asimismo, se propone la implementación del Tablero de Control Balanceado que supervisará el logro y medirá los resultados de los objetivos a corto plazo, ayudando a la empresa a alcanzar sus objetivos de largo plazo y visión. El alcance de los objetivos y la realización de las estrategias propuestas será un esfuerzo conjunto de todos los miembros de la organización que, en última instancia, servirán para el beneficio de la sociedad.

El virus de inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH/SIDA) es una enfermedad dañina que afecta la vida de personas y familias en todo el mundo. En el año 2014, alrededor de 1.2 millones de personas en el mundo fallecieron debido a esta enfermedad. No obstante, la cantidad de personas en Perú que viven con VIH/SIDA está disminuyendo en los últimos años debido al incremento de la educación, la estabilidad económica y el apoyo del gobierno. El Hogar San Camilo es una ONG religiosa de tamaño pequeño dedicada a ayudar a personas en Perú que tienen VIH/SIDA y que viven en pobreza. El Hogar San Camilo provee un bienestar holístico a aquellos con la enfermedad y a sus familias, otorgándoles la oportunidad de vivir una vida digna, sana y feliz. Sin embargo, Hogar San Camilo requiere definir la dirección de la organización, sus estrategias y objetivos. Esto permitirá una mayor cantidad de donaciones por parte de entidades nacionales y extranjeras. El presente plan estratégico fue desarrollado bajo el proceso estratégico y fue adaptado para aplicarse a una ONG. El plan sugiere cuatro estrategias para permitir que Hogar San Camilo sea un referente a nivel nacional y en Latino América al 2020, por proveer un bienestar holístico a personas con VIH/SIDA. Las estrategias son: (a) estrategia interna de gestión de procesos que permita una mejor toma de decisiones para recaudar fondos; (b) integración horizontal al unir los Hogares San Camilo de Lima, Arequipa y Huancayo; (c) penetración de mercado al dirigirse a empresas peruanas donantes actuales solicitando fondos para los programas del Hogar y (d) atrincheramiento para mantener, eliminar o fusionar los programas ofrecidos actualmente por Hogar San Camilo. / The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV/AIDS) is a harmful virus that affects the lives of people and their families around the world. In 2014 approximately 1.2 million people in the world died due to HIV-related causes. However, the number of people living with the HIV/AIDS virus in Peru is declining due to increased education, a more stable economy and government support. Hogar San Camilo is a small religious NGO that is dedicated to help people in Peru living with HIV/AIDS and also in poverty. Hogar San Camilo provides holistic wellbeing support to people affected with HIV/AIDS and their families, allowing them the opportunity to live a dignified, happy and healthy life. Nonetheless, the organization is in need of a clear direction, strategy and objectives for the future in order to secure more funding from national and international donors. The present strategic plan was developed following the strategic process and was adapted in order to be applied to an NGO. The plan suggests four strategies to enable Hogar San Camilo to be recognized by 2020 as a reference in Peru and Latin America regarding holistic wellbeing support to people affected with HIV/AIDS. These strategies included: (a) an internal process management strategy by developing a strategic vision that will enable the organization to have a better decision process to receive more funding from donors; (b) a horizontal integration by merging the Hogar San Camilos from Lima, Arequipa and Huancayo; (c) a market penetration by targeting specific Peruvian companies that presently donate to Hogar San Camilo by requesting funds for specific programs; and (d) a retrenchment strategy concerning the present programs and activities offered in order to keep the best programs, eliminate or merge the programs.

Félix González Torres (1957-1996) fue un artista de origen cubano que pasó su adolescencia en Puerto Rico y se mudó al finalizar la década de los 70 hacia Nueva York, donde desarrollaría en pocos años una estelar trayectoria artística, antes de morir bajo las secuelas de una infección de VIH. Entre las características más sobresalientes de su obra, la crítica ha destacado su capacidad para enlazar claves formales del discurso artístico dominante (procedentes por ejemplo del minimalismo y del arte conceptual) a intereses vinculados con experiencias cotidianas de orden personal. La Tesis Doctoral toma como enclave la relación que éste mantiene con su pareja sentimental, Ross Laycock, para analizar cómo en sus fotografías sobre papel, fotografías sobre rompecabezas y fotografías sobre acetato (también conocidas como fotostatos) se plantea ese delicado registro en un contexto conservador y plagado de incertidumbre. En el transcurso del trabajo salen a relucir preocupaciones temáticas como el SIDA, la relación entre lo privado y lo público y la dificultad de elaborar un marco pertinente y adecuado desde el cual llegar a contar de forma relevante las experiencias del artista que resultan marginales bajo el periodo de tiempo en cuestión. Esta última consideración plantea a su vez una serie de interrogantes en torno a ciertas normas sociales, como la elaboración de la masculinidad y la concepción de la familia, y a ciertos valores de juicio, como lo que estimamos ser familiar y extraño (es decir, temas que corresponden a esa dificultad de construir un sentido de lo personal bajo un periodo de tiempo altamente mediatizado, regido por la sobreproducción de información).
