Nascimento, Eurípedes Costa do. January 2004 (has links)
No trecho ele é atribuído pelos próprios sujeitos à necessidade de criar coragem, esquecer problemas do passado e apaziguar conflitos remanescentes, em geral, conflitos afetivos ...(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The alcohol consumption has been one of the biggest concerns of the public health in the world and its causes seem to be associated to the diverse factors, among them, the culture. / Abstract: This survey aimed to investigate if the isolation therapy of those affected by tb in the beginning of the 20th century contributed to the stigmatization of patients, if the stigma of this illness is still present, if there are differences between men and women in dealing with this stigma, and if there are, in front of possible differences, distinct repercussions in carrying on and concluding the tratment. The methodology used envolved survey of case and applying interviews with tb patients. The survey of case was developed in the city of Sao Jose dos Campos, which became a reference for tb treatment in the beginning of the last century, from the reading and analysis of news publications of that time. Interviews were taken with men and women who were treated of tb in the reference clinic in the city of Jacarei and in the medical facilities of UNICAMP (University of Campinas). The results achieved suggest that the isolation, prescribed by doctors in the beginning of the last century as one of the important resources to the cure of tb, contributed with the overcharge of some depreciating symbols attributed to tb patients intensifying the stigma of this illness. The analysis also suggests that men and women, due to distinct process of socialization, deal with the illness differently, which reflects from how they seek for treatment to how they carry it on.While men have as major complaint about being ill of tb phisical debility, with women the stigma is the first and most constant complaint, lasting even after treatment is concluded. / Doutorado / Educação, Conhecimento, Linguagem e Arte / Doutor em Educação

Dysfonctionnements préfrontaux et pharmacothérapies dans des modèles murins de maladies spychiatriques / Prefrontal dysfunctions and pharmacotherapies in mouse models of psychiatric diseases

Bouamrane, Mohamed Lamine 15 December 2015 (has links)
The pathogenesis of psychiatric disorders such as mood disorders and schizophrenia involves genetic and environmental factors. The reelin, a protein of the extracellular matrix and social isolation (SI), an environmental stress participate in the etiology of these diseases. The prefrontal cortex (PFC) involved in cognitive and executive functions, exhibits morpho-functional abnormalities in patients with these disorders. The purpose of my thesis is to study the effect of the SI and a haploinsufficiency in reelin (HIR) on the properties of the adult PFC. We used wild mice and reelin heterozygous mice that underwent and proceed to electrophysiological, morphological and behavioral analyses. Our results show that the SI altered synaptic transmission and plasticity and behavior. We also showed that the HIR aggravates these alterations. Finally, we explored a promising therapy.

Nordén, Sara January 2020 (has links)
The corona pandemic has led to strict rules regarding social distancing and isolation in an attempt to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Individuals are asked to work from home and not see their close ones. Research shows that individuals experience loneliness the most when it’s involuntary, conditions that the prevailing pandemic has created. The purpose is therefore to investigate how individuals experience and deal with loneliness during the pandemic. The study is based on a convenience sample where the ten participants' interviews have been analyzed with an inductive thematic analysis. In the analysis eight themes were identified; characteristics, the importance of taking responsibility, loneliness as a mental state, distractions, missing the old life, unexpected personal growth, fewer socialexchangesandbetterqualityofexistingrelationships.Theresultsshowthat forced changes in the social life that create a lot of involuntarily lonely moments affect the participants most negatively. All participants also defined loneliness as a mental state that requires distractions so the emotions do not become too stressful for the psyche. The distractions included both independent and social activities, which is consistent with existing research on coping strategies for chronic loneliness. However, the participants do not feel chronically lonely due to the pandemic, even though the amount of involuntary lonely moments has increased, and believe that social isolation is just one of the many aspects of the pandemic. The conclusion is that it’s not only loneliness that leads to individuals feeling unwell during a world pandemic and that future research should focus on how healthy young people and adults are affected by periods of isolation since the field is dominated by geriatric studies.

Being young in the covid-19 pandemic Sweden : Teenagers life situation and experiences of living during the covid-19 pandemic

Kullingsjö, Christine, Aronsson, Lovisa January 2021 (has links)
Background The covid-19 pandemic affects individuals both through incidence of disease and imposed restrictions. International research shows that teenagers living under restrictions feel mentally ill and risk doing so for a long period of time. The impact on health among teenagers in Sweden is still unknown. The district nurse shall promote children’s health by working preventively and health-promoting.  Aim The purpose of the study was to investigate teenagers' experiences of living during the covid-19 pandemic in Sweden and how their life situation is affected. Method The current essay is based on a completed study from a research collaboration between University West, the University of Gothenburg, the Institute of Karolinska and Umeå University, where teenagers answered a web-based survey with open and closed questions regarding the experience of living in a pandemic. A qualitative and quantitative methodology was used where the data was analysed using qualitative content analysis and descriptive statistics. A convenience sample has been used with inclusion criteria 15-19 years. A Total of 713 teenagers participated. Results Among the teenagers 19 percent stated that they felt socially isolated. The teenagers described emotions such as feeling anxious, feeling missed, sad and longing and being here and now. Many teenagers expressed a feeling of loneliness, a feeling of worry about their situation and worries about others but also a longing for their normal life. Conclusion The experiences described by the teenagers may risk to increased mental illness further ahead, and as a specialist nurse you meet these teenagers in student health and in the primary care. Therefore preparedness and resources are needed to meet these teenagers and offer them the support they need.

THE EXPERIENCE OF LONELINESS IN YOUNG ADULTHOOD: A CROSS-CULTURAL STUDY

Holmqvist, Simon, Östlund, Jasmine January 2019 (has links)
Culture has been shown to influence the experience of loneliness. Studies have shown that young adults are especially prone to experiencing loneliness. The aim of this mixed-methods study was to investigate if young adults from an individualistic culture experience loneliness differently compared to young adults from a collectivistic culture. Eighty participants from Sweden and 80 participants from India aged 18-30 answered De Jong Gierveld Loneliness Scale (DJGLS) and Lubben Social Network Scale (LSNS-R) through an online survey which together with additional demographics provided the quantitative data. Six semi-structured interviews (three from each culture) provided the qualitative data, exploring how the participants described their experiences of loneliness and its connection to culture. Young adults from India reported significantly higher levels of social isolation and social loneliness compared to young adults from Sweden. No significant difference was found in emotional loneliness. Thematic analysis of the qualitative data provided a deeper insight into these findings, and the qualitative results are discussed in light of the quantitative. Three main themes emerged: descriptions of loneliness, young adulthood as a stage in life where loneliness might be high, and cultural values that affect the experience of loneliness. Ingen signifikant skillnad sågs i emotionell ensamhet.

Living your life through technology : A qualitative study about technology usage during a global pandemic

Säljedal, Klara, Danielsson, Johannes January 2020 (has links)
Social isolation is one of the main challenges for distance students. In the situation of covid- 19, on-campus university students in Sweden are faced with the same challenge, since they have been required to study elsewhere as Universities are closed for students. We asked in what way students use technology during covid-19, and which role technology has for university students. The answers to these questions are important to be able to design and implement better technology for communication and collaboration across distances. To study this, we conducted qualitative interviews and a questionnaire with university students normally studying at campus. Our findings show that university students use a variety of technologies during covid-19 to socialize, work and study, and entertain themselves. We contribute with information about which online services, functions, and hardware are seen as most important. Finally, we provide information about technology's role for university students during covid-19, such as something used to maintain your social life, studies, for entertainment and to combat boredom.
