Conceitua o patrimônio, analisando-o segundo a legislação nacional e internacional. Lista as obras que podem vir a compor a coleção especial, utilizando-se de tabelas. Define os critérios para a escolha das obras. Como metodologia, realiza uma pesquisa bibliográfica com características de pesquisa aplicada, dado seu interesse prático. / This study is focused on bibliographic heritage of Science and Technology in universities. Its main objective is to propose criteria that can be applied to university libraries in the formation of their special collections, based on the Paulo Geyer Library experience. Characterizes the Paulo Geyer Library as a guardian of university bibliographic heritage of S & T in the context of the School of Chemistry. Analyzes libraries as memory places. It also tackles the importance of university libraries as guardians of bibliographic heritage of Science and Technology, and the relevance of developing special collections. It proposes to highlight the significance of Paulo Geyer Library as well as the conception of heritage, analyzing it according to national and international legislation. Ranking the works which could be part of the special collection using tables. It defines some criteria for selecting the works. As a methodology it carries out the bibliographic research with characteristics of applied research given its practical interest.

Communication became understood as a field of exchange and interaction and no longer as a linear process, in which the sender has supremacy over the passive receiver. It also occurred to the disjunction between space and time, which contributed to the expansion of the fields of communication exchanges. Communicative practices ceased to be carried out only face-to-face and in the same space of time, to happen also in cyberspace through computer networks. Communication now occurs mainly through the internet and social media as internet sites that allow users greater possibility of interaction and participation. They are presented as important resources to increase communication between university libraries and users. Thus, the general objective is to identify the uses of Facebook by the libraries of the Brazilian Federal Universities in their communicative practices. And as specific objectives: to identify the libraries of the Brazilian Federal Universities; identify which of these university libraries make use of social media; analyze the content of the publications made by them on Facebook and identify for what purposes the libraries of Brazilian federal universities use Facebook. According to these objectives this research is classified as descriptive - exploratory and from the point of view of the problem approach is characterized as quali-quanti. This research was structured in four stages. The first stage consisted in the collection of information about the libraries of the Brazilian federal universities and the definition of the sample. The second step was to identify the use of social media by libraries. The third step involved in collecting data on the pages of the libraries on Facebook. The fourth step consisted in the content analysis of the publications carried out by the libraries of the Brazilian federal universities on Facebook. The survey showed that there are 655 university libraries (central and sectoral) spread throughout Brazil, present in all Brazilian Federal Universities. It was verified that of this total only 48.2% of the libraries use some type of social media, being Facebook, Twitter and Blog the most used by them. From the analysis of content of the publications it was identified that the libraries use their pages in Facebook, mainly, to talk about its products and services offered. Given the results and based on the theoretical reference, it is noticed that the libraries of Brazilian federal universities have incorporated social media into their communicative practices, but this still occurs in an unplanned way in most of them. In addition, they have attitudes that do not contribute to 2.0 libraries. / Com o advento das Tecnologias da Informação e da Comunicação emergiram novas concepções, novas práticas e também novas exigências. A comunicação passou a ser entendida enquanto um campo de troca e de interação e não mais como um processo linear, no qual o emissor tem supremacia sobre o receptor passivo. Ocorreu também à disjunção entre o espaço e o tempo, o que contribuiu para ampliação dos campos de trocas comunicacionais. As práticas comunicativas deixaram de ser realizadas apenas face a face e no mesmo espaço temporal, para acontecer também no ciberespaço por meio das redes de computadores. A comunicação ocorre agora, principalmente, por meio da internet e das mídias sociais enquanto sites na internet que permitem aos usuários maior possibilidade de interação e participação. Elas se apresentam como recursos importantes para ampliar a comunicação entre as bibliotecas universitárias e os usuários. Dessa forma essa pesquisa tem como objetivo geral identificar os usos do Facebook pelas bibliotecas das universidades federais brasileiras em suas práticas comunicativas. E como objetivos específicos: identificar as bibliotecas das universidades federais brasileiras; identificar quais dessas bibliotecas universitárias fazem uso de mídias sociais; analisar o conteúdo das publicações realizadas por elas no Facebook e identificar para quais finalidades as bibliotecas das universidades federais brasileiras usam o Facebook. Sob a perspectiva desses objetivos essa pesquisa se classifica como descritiva – exploratória e do ponto de vista da abordagem do problema caracteriza-se como quali-quanti. Foi estruturada em quatro etapas: a primeira consistiu no levantamento de informações sobre as bibliotecas das universidades federais brasileiras e na definição da amostra; na segunda etapa buscou-se identificar o uso de mídias sociais pelas bibliotecas; a terceira etapa compreendeu na coleta de dados nas páginas das bibliotecas no Facebook e a quarta etapa consistiu na análise de conteúdo das publicações realizadas pelas bibliotecas das universidades federais brasileiras no Facebook. O levantamento demonstrou que existem 655 bibliotecas universitárias (centrais e setoriais) presentes em todas as regiões brasileiras. Verificou-se que desse total apenas 48,2% das bibliotecas usam algum tipo de mídia social, sendo o Facebook, o Twitter e o Blog os mais usados por elas. Coletou-se os dados de 227 bibliotecas que possuem uma página no Facebook e a partir da análise de conteúdo das publicações identificou-se que as bibliotecas usam suas páginas no Facebook, principalmente, pra informar sobre seus produtos e serviços oferecidos. Diante dos resultados e com base no referencial teórico percebe-se que as bibliotecas das universidades federais brasileiras têm incorporado as mídias sociais em suas práticas comunicativas, mas isso ainda ocorre de forma não planejada na maioria delas. Além disso, elas possuem atitudes que não contribuem para serem consideradas bibliotecas 2.0.

The research has as general objective to outline the communication actions, formalized or not, through a communication policy, as well as the channels used by the central libraries of the Federal Universities of the Central West to communicate with their public. And as specific objectives: to verify the existence of policies that contemplate actions of communication of the central libraries of the Federal Universities of the Center-West, directed to the use of social media; know the actions and channels of communication used by libraries (What they use? identify the design of audiences from the perspective of the library communications manager; identify problems and challenges for the implantation and maintenance of social media for communication with its public; to verify competences and necessary adaptations to the communication manager of the central libraries of the Federal Universities of the Center-West. To achieve the proposed objectives, the research is classified as qualitative and was constituted by three stages: theoretical reference scenario (theoretical foundation); collection of data through the sending of questionnaires to the managers and / or those responsible for communication in the libraries chosen for the study or, in the absence of these professionals, was sent to the coordinator and / or director of the library. Finally, a systematic observation was made on the sites of the study libraries and the social media most used by libraries. The theoretical basis of the research is constituted by the approach on communication policy, society in network and university libraries. The results of the research brought revealing information, in which managers recognize the importance of social media for communication with their public, but there is no communication policy in the study libraries. Most of the libraries participating in the study use social media to communicate with their audiences, predominantly Facebook, followed by Instagram. Although they do not have communication policies, there are two libraries that stand out in relation to Communication with their publics. The UnB Central Library has a Standing Commission on Social Media Communication and has achieved greater engagement in Facebook, with more tastings, comments and shares in the year 2017, when compared with the other pages of the libraries studied. And the central library of the UFG, which is the only library to have its own communication department, called Communication Office. They have a communication plan that formalizes the main communication activities. The research revealed that the libraries studied do not have a formalized communication policy, but they have communicative actions. / Estudou-se a política de comunicação no contexto das mídias sociais em bibliotecas universitárias do Centro-Oeste, mais especificamente em cinco bibliotecas centrais da região, integrantes das seguintes universidades: UFG, UFGD, UFMS, UFMT e UnB. A pesquisa possui como objetivo geral traçar o panorama das ações de comunicação, formalizadas ou não, por meio de uma política de comunicação, assim como os canais utilizados pelas bibliotecas centrais das Universidades Federais do Centro-Oeste para comunicação com seus públicos. E como objetivos específicos: verificar a existência de políticas que contemplem ações de comunicação das bibliotecas centrais das Universidades Federais do Centro-Oeste, direcionadas ao uso das mídias sociais; conhecer as ações e canais de comunicação utilizados pelas bibliotecas (O que usam? Por quê? Como usam? Para quais públicos?); identificar a concepção de públicos na perspectiva do gestor de comunicação das bibliotecas; identificar problemas e desafios para implantação e manutenção das mídias sociais para comunicação com seus públicos; verificar competências e adequações necessárias ao gestor de comunicação das bibliotecas centrais das Universidades Federais do Centro-Oeste. Para atingir os objetivos propostos a pesquisa se classifica como qualitativa e foi constituída por três etapas: panorama teórico de referência (fundamentação teórica); coleta de dados por meio do envio de questionários aos gestores e/ou responsáveis pela comunicação nas bibliotecas escolhidas para o estudo ou, na inexistência destes profissionais, foi enviado ao coordenador e/ou diretor da biblioteca. Por fim, foi realizada a observação sistemática nos sites das bibliotecas do estudo e na mídia social mais utilizada pelas bibliotecas. A fundamentação teórica da pesquisa é constituída pela abordagem sobre política de comunicação, sociedade em rede e bibliotecas universitárias. Os resultados da pesquisa trouxeram informações reveladoras, nas quais os gestores reconhecem a importância das mídias sociais para a comunicação com seus públicos, contudo ocorre a inexistência de políticas de comunicação nas bibliotecas do estudo. A maioria das bibliotecas participantes do estudo utiliza as mídias sociais para comunicação com seus públicos, com predominância do Facebook, seguida pelo Instagram. Apesar de não possuírem políticas de comunicação, há duas bibliotecas que se destacam em relação à Comunicação com seus públicos. A biblioteca central da UnB possui uma Comissão Permanente de Comunicação em Mídias Sociais e obteve maior engajamento no Facebook, com maior quantidade de curtidas, comentários e compartilhamentos no ano de 2017, quando comparada com as demais páginas das bibliotecas estudadas. E a biblioteca central da UFG, que é a única biblioteca a possuir um departamento próprio de comunicação, denominado Assessoria de Comunicação. Eles possuem um plano de comunicação, que formaliza as principais atividades de comunicação. A pesquisa revelou que as bibliotecas estudadas não possuem uma política de comunicação formalizada, porém possuem ações comunicativas.

AvaliaÃÃo do uso das tecnologias eletrÃnicas e digitais de informaÃÃo e de comunicaÃÃo no sistema de bibliotecas da Universidade Federal do CearÃ

A expressÃo âTecnologias EletrÃnicas e Digitais de InformaÃÃo e de ComunicaÃÃoâ faz uma representaÃÃo mais adequada destas tecnologias modernas. As bibliotecas universitÃrias tambÃm fazem uso dessas tecnologias, porÃm para melhor atender seus usuÃrios, à necessÃrio que essas tecnologias sejam avaliadas adequadamente. O governo brasileiro, atravÃs da ComissÃo Nacional de AvaliaÃÃo da EducaÃÃo Superior (CONAES) em uma das suas atribuiÃÃes, orienta os critÃrios avaliativos para a educaÃÃo superior, na qual as bibliotecas universitÃrias estÃo inseridas. O objetivo desta pesquisa à avaliar o uso das Tecnologias EletrÃnicas e Digitais de InformaÃÃo e de ComunicaÃÃo na oferta de produtos e serviÃos à comunidade acadÃmica da Universidade Federal do CearÃ, fazendo um paralelo com os critÃrios avaliativos da CONAES no Ãmbito das bibliotecas universitÃrias. O estudo empÃrico foi realizado por meio de um questionÃrio eletrÃnico aplicado junto à amostra de 380 sujeitos pertencentes à comunidade acadÃmica da UFC. Na avaliaÃÃo, com base na metodologia Servqual, foram observadas as percepÃÃes e expectativas da comunidade acadÃmica sobre o uso dessas tecnologias para acessar os produtos e serviÃos oferecidos pelas bibliotecas da universidade. Os resultados obtidos na anÃlise de dados indicam que treinamentos de forma contÃnua e frequente poderÃo trazer melhorias na avaliaÃÃo dos usuÃrios sobre os produtos e serviÃos no uso das Tecnologias EletrÃnicas e Digitais de InformaÃÃo e de ComunicaÃÃo ofertados nas bibliotecas da UFC. Fundamentado nos resultados foram feitas recomendaÃÃes e sugestÃes para pesquisas futuras. / With the continuous transformation and increasing use of technology in society, there is a need for better name them. The term "Digital Technologies and Electronic Information and Communication" makes a better representation of these modern technologies. The university libraries also make use of these technologies, but to serve its users in a better way it is necessary to evaluate these technologies. The Brazilian government, through the National Commission for Higher Education Evaluation (CONAES), in one of his assignments, guides evaluative criteria for higher education, in which university libraries are located. The objective of this research is to evaluate the use of Electronic Technologies and Digital Information and Communication in the supply of products and services to the academic community of Universidade Federal do CearÃ, drawing a parallel with the assessment criteria of CONAES within the university libraries. The empirical study was conducted via an online questionnaire applied by the sample of 380 subjects belonging to the academic community of UFC. The evaluation based on the SERVQUAL methodology showed the perceptions and expectations of the academic community about the use of these technologies to access the products and services offered by the university libraries. The results of the data analysis indicate that training often and continuously can deal to a bring improvements in users' evaluation of the products and services in the use of Electronic Technologies and Digital Information and Communication offered in the libraries of UFC. Relying on the results recommendations and suggestions were made for future research.

Representações sociais e práticas profissionais na sociedade da informação : estudo com usuários de bibliotecas universitárias

As práticas profissionais dos bibliotecários têm sido influenciadas e modificadas com a introdução das Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicação nas Unidades de Informação e nos meios de disseminação da informação, tornando-a facilmente acessível. Estas modificações ocorrem mais evidentemente nas bibliotecas universitárias, pois o fluxo de geração de conhecimento é mais intenso. Considerando que o usuário é a razão da existência de uma Unidade de Informação, este trabalho tem por objetivo verificar a representação social que os usuários possuem sobre as práticas dos bibliotecários universitários e dos serviços das bibliotecas universitárias no contexto da Sociedade da Informação. A pesquisa foi realizada durante o segundo semestre de 2007, em 5 bibliotecas universitárias de Porto Alegre e região metropolitana-RS, por meio de aplicação de questionários. Conclui-se que as práticas dos bibliotecários e o conceito de biblioteca estão calcados na imagem tradicional que os usuários possuem dos mesmos. / The librarian´s professional practices have been influenced and modified by the introduction of Information and Comunication Technologies into Information Units as well as among the spreading means of information, thus making information more easily accessible. These modifications are obviously more evident at the universitary libraries, where the generation of knowledge is more intense. Regarding the user as the reason of being of an Information Unit, the aim of this study is to verify the social representation that the users own over the university librarians´ practices as well as the work of the universitary libraries into the context of the Information Society. A survey was carried out over the second semester of 2007, through the application of a questionnaire in 5 universitary libraries from Porto Alegre and metropolitan area-RS. It was concluded that both, the librarians´practices and the concept of library are based on the traditional image that the users have about them.

The interlude considered on this research comprehends the period between 1970 and 2000, having as context the whole predominant aspects that have influenced universities and their Brazilian university libraries, between the military dictatorship and Fernando Henrique Cardoso government. The research aims to understand which factors have influenced the construction and the performance of Federal university libraries in Amazonia during their history; in which way the public measures have influenced their performance and whether the employee´s mentality and way of acting have conditioned the performance of those libraries. In the attempt of answering those questions, the research is anchored in Pierre Bourdieu' s methodological and theoretical concepts, mainly his perception of objective relations into the social spaces (field); notion of internalized social structures (habitus); and his concepts of capital. Besides the studied bibliography, it was used the technique of oral testimonials with the research agents, who were the auxiliaries, directors and librarians that have worked in the investigated libraries. After the analysis of the bibliographic data and the concept's operationalization, the study concludes that government policies have had a great impact over the studied libraries. It has also been inferred, however, that the performance of their employees, mainly the librarians, was determinant to the structuration of the precarious conditions in which those libraries are found. / Investiga a trajetória das bibliotecas universitárias federais da Região Norte, cujo campo empírico foi as bibliotecas dos estados do Acre, Amapá, Rondônia e Roraima. O recorte temporal abrange o período de 1970 a 2002, tendo como pano de fundo os aspectos conjunturais predominantes que influenciaram as universidades federais e suas bibliotecas, entre os governos do regime militar e o fim do governo de Fernando Henrique Cardoso. A pesquisa busca entender quais os fatores que influenciaram a construção e a atuação das bibliotecas universitárias federais da Amazônia durante a sua história; em que medida as políticas públicas têm influenciado essa atuação e se a mentalidade e as práticas dos funcionários condicionaram o desempenho dessas bibliotecas. Na tentativa de responder esses questionamentos, utiliza os pressupostos teórico-metodológicos de Pierre Bourdieu, principalmente a sua percepção das relações objetivas nos espaços sociais (campo); a noção de estruturas sociais interiorizadas (habitus); e seus conceitos de capital. Além da bibliografia estudada, usou-se a técnica dos depoimentos orais entre os sujeitos da pesquisa, que foram os auxiliares, dirigentes e bibliotecários que atuaram nas bibliotecas investigadas. Com os dados bibliográficos analisados e a operacionalização dos conceitos, o estudo mostra que as políticas públicas tiveram grande impacto sobre as bibliotecas estudadas. Contudo, inferiu-se ainda, que a atuação dos seus funcionários, principalmente, dos bibliotecários, também foram determinantes para a estruturação das condições precárias em que essas bibliotecas se encontraram.

Magister Bibliothecologiae - MBibl / The purpose of this project was to investigate job satisfaction at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology Library (CPUT). Academic libraries throughout the world and in South Africa have undergone massive change in the last few years. CPUT Library is the result of the merger of two technikon libraries in 2005. The study aimed to investigate the impact of the merger on staff job satisfaction. If libraries are to meet the challenges of change, they need satisfied and committed staff. This dissertation project is framed by two closely related models in human resources management, namely Herzberg‟s two factor theory of motivation and Hackman and Oldham‟s Job Characteristics Model (JCM). Questionnaires were used to gather data from 91 library staff in CPUT. A total of 44 responded. The survey identified areas of satisfaction and dissatisfaction among staff and the impact of the merger on staff who were employed before 2005. The study finds that 66% report overall job satisfaction with strong satisfaction with the work itself and the sense of accomplishment it brings. The majority of library staff is dissatisfied with promotion prospects and work distribution. Despite the years of restructuring, there are several comments on library structures. The need for more participative style of management and clear reporting structures are mentioned. The four questions on respondents‟ future plans reveal that affective commitment to the institution is not very high. Respondents like their work but 48% say they would accept a job outside the CPUT Library and only 50% claim to be proud to say they work at CPUT Library, with another 27% neutral. There are mixed findings on the impact of the merger, which might well be connected to the lack of institutional commitment. Only 50% of respondents who were at CPUT before the merger claim to be more satisfied now than before it. And the open-ended questions uncover the challenges in building or rebuilding a sense of belonging.

A library has always been a doorway into learning. Learning, in today's world, has become a complex and varied process. The built form must therefore embody the vastness of this available knowledge. The building must, through its very structuring, make easy and accessible learning. It must also express the intricacies and inter-relationships of knowledge using an architectural vocabulary. The making of the building is analogous to the development of the individual. lt is from the collective that the individual emerge. The built form encapsulates society in both scale and complexity. lt is an amalgamation of difference, offering opportunity for individualized growth to a collective social education. The building reveals itself slowly through its relationship. It encourages exploration at every level. It is a beginning, an instrument of search, a ground for discovery. The transformation of the process of study into built form is drawn out along its connections. The language of architecture is used to bind together the many strands of learning through universally interpretable metaphors into a coherent reality. / Master of Architecture

著電子期刊發展日益成熟,圖書館引進電子期刊館藏蔚為風尚,對圖書館紙本期刊的發展與學術傳播都帶來了巨大的影響。圖書館期刊館藏的改變,也連帶對於使用者的期刊使用造成影響。本研究旨在了解傳播學門教師電子期刊的使用行為,並從使用者的角度探討電子期刊對圖書館館藏發展之影響進而研訂以使用者角度為導向的電子期刊館藏發展政策,以做為未來圖書館館藏發展之參考。 本研究利用問卷調查與深度訪談以了解政大傳播學院教師的資訊行為與電子期刊的使用情形,以及政大傳傳播學院圖書館館藏發展現況、所面臨的問題與困難與對未來館藏發展之看法。最後獲致研究結論如下:(1)傳播學院教師平時的主要任務以教學與研究為主,而資訊需求也多因教學與研究而產生;(2)學術期刊是教師教學與研究的最重要資源;(3)傳播學院教師使用電子期刊甚於紙本期刊;(4)教師對傳播學院圖書分館期刊館藏與服務感到滿意;(5)傳播學院圖書分館重視發展學術期刊館藏,並以西文期刊為館藏重要特色;(6)傳播學院圖書分館期刊館藏發展以電子期刊與紙本期刊並重;(7)傳播學院圖書期刊選購由教師決定,主要考慮期刊內容學術性與教師需求;(8)獲得政大傳播學院圖書分館電子期刊館藏發展要件與程序;(9)傳播學院圖書分館經費有限與典藏空間不足促使電子期刊館藏發展的需求;(10)獲得政大傳播學院圖書館紙本期刊刪訂決策因素;(11)政大傳播學院圖書分館缺乏館藏發展政策訂定;(12)多數教師同意政大傳播學院圖書分館有發展電子期刊之需求;(13)多數教師對於全面發展電子期刊的看法仍有疑慮。 本研究最後針對圖書館電子期刊館藏發展與服務提出以下建議:(1)依據教師使用行為加強電子期刊館藏服務;(2)傳播學院三系所建立期刊選購合作機制;(3)訂定傳播學院圖書分館電子期刊館藏發展政策;(4)加強使用者電子期刊使用教育訓練;(5)強化傳播學院圖書分館館員的功能與價值。 / With the great developments of electronic journals, it becomes a trend for academic libraries to purchase a large amount of electronic resources. Electronic journals bring a lot of impacts on the academic libraries and scholarly communication. The changes on library serials collection also affect the way that faculty use scholarly journals. This research investigated the use of electronic journals among the faculty of Communication at the Cheng-Chi University, and tried to use user-oriented approach to formulate the serials collection development policy. The research conducted at the Cheng-Chi University in 2008 by questionnaire and interviews to exam the use of electronic journals by the faculty of Communication, investigate the status of serials collection in Communication Library, and obtain the faculty and librarians’ viewpoints about the future of serials collection development. The research findings are as follow: (1) The information needs of faculty of communication most came from research and teaching. (2) Scholarly journals are essential resources in the field of communication. (3) Faculty of communication rely on electronic journals than print journals. (4) Faculty are satisfied with the serials collection and services provided by communication library. (5) Communication library set great store by developing academic journals collections and foreign languages journals are features of communication library. (6) Emphasizing electronic journals and print journals equally is the main collection development strategy of communication library. (7) The purchases of journals are decided by faculty, and the technicality and needs of teachers are the two major factors that have great impact on serials selection. (8) Formulate procedures and components of serials collection development for communication library. (9) Shortage of budget and shelving space made communication library has need to develop electronic serials collection. (10) Formulate factors of serials cancellation for communication library. (11) Communication library need to establish collection development policy. (12) A majority of faculty agree that communication library need to develop electronic serials collection. (13) The mostly concerned issue when the library develops the whole electronic journal collection is the electronic archiving. Based on the final results of this research, several suggestions are proposed for improving communication library serials collection development and services are as follow:(1) Strengthen electronic journals collection services based on patterns of journal use by faculty. (2) The college of communication should build cooperation mechanisms for purchasing journals. (3) Communication library should establish electronic serials collection development policy. (4) Enhance training in e-resource use to faculty and students. (5) Strengthen the function and value of librarians in communication library to become the intermedium between main library and faculty.
