Síla a efektivita fotožurnalismu v digitální éře / Power and Effectiveness of Photojournalism in the Digital Age

Topinková, Martina January 2021 (has links)
This dissertation thesis deals with the emotional power and effectiveness of photojournalism in the digital age. It focuses on journalistic photographs in the context of their emotional impact and examines the effects of the emotional response on media recipients. At the theoretical level, the work characterizes the origin and development of modern photojournalism and how it has established itself within media as a separate discipline; the digital age and its specifics in relation to modern photojournalism; and the emotional power of photojournalism itself and theories of emotion. It also briefly introduces the concept of visual literacy and defines ethical standards in the work of photojournalists. The analytical part of the work names specific features of the emotional power of photojournalism and the relationship between emotionality and journalistic photography. It also deals with the similarities between journalistic photography and reality and how mediation of reality through journalistic images has an effect on media recipients, again with regard to emotional aspects. Finally it touches on whether journalistic photographs have the potential to mobilize society through their exposure to the sensitivity and internal attitudes of media consumers, or on the contrary they cause numbness and...

Rezeptionsästhetische Literaturdidaktik im DaF-Unterricht. Das Bilderbuch als Anlass für Unterrichtsgespräche über das Thema: Der Umgang mit dem Fremden : Antje Damm, Der Besuch. Bild-/Textanalyse und literaturdidaktische Vorschläge

Ferreira Cunha, Cristina J. January 2019 (has links)
While subject-specific research shows that the use of picturebooks in foreign language lessons is beneficial to the acquisition of a foreign language as well as to the development of visual literacy, there is evidence that the use of picturebooks in German as a Foreign Language lessons in Sweden is being neglected. The main subject of this thesis is to offer suggestions as to how Antje Damm´s picturebook Der Besuch can be employed in German as a Foreign Language lessons in Sweden in order to uncover and discuss different responses to the alien by the main character. The philosophical background of this study is based on Bernhard Waldenfels´ notions of alienness and the event of responsivity. A central line of argument is that the plural character of our experiences determines how the alien is perceived. Bettina Schröder´s work Bild(er)leser wissen mehr! Das Bil-derbuch als Vermittler von “Visual Literacy”: Eine Aufgabe für die Kinder- und Jugendbibliotheksarbeit? is not only decisive for the analysis of the visual elements of the picturebook but also for the design of a questionnaire that enables the thematic exploration of Damm´s picturebook during German as a Foreign Language lessons. By separately analysing the visual and the verbal elements of the picturebook as well as their relationship, the result of the first part of this work points out four approaches to the alien by the main character: isolation, elimination, ignoration (Weghören) and hospitality. Furthermore, the thematic analysis of Der Besuch makes it evident that picture and text tell the same story in their own specific and autonomous way. Based on the results of the first part, the findings of the second part suggest a guideline as how Damm´s picturebook can be used in German as a Foreign Language lessons. A three-phased model presents a set of example questions designed to enable the meticulous exploration of the theme when working with the picturebook.

Mrázová, Marcela January 2010 (has links)
The thesis studies using PowerPoint presentation in geography teaching, especially for the impact of visualized substance on the effectiveness of teaching. The theoretical part is followed by questionnaire survey to monitor the current situation in Czech schools. Students and teachers of Geography were asked if they are computer users and how are their subjective views and experiences of using PowerPoint in teaching. I also examined the technical background of Czech schools and whether there is even possible to use audio-visual technology in education. I also asked which teaching method was preferred by students and whether they prefered the lessons with PowerPoint presentations. The numer of 62 teachers and 283 students were participants in this survey. Most of them is an ordinary computer user. PowerPoint presentations are often used in Geography. Their opinion of using powerpoint presentations in lessons is rather positive. The most popular method among students is an interpretation, which corresponds with the most common PowerPoint usage. [en] WEB COMIC STRIPS AND TEACHING OF HISTORY: REFLECTIONS AROUND A TEACHING LEARNING EXPERIENCE / [pt] WEBTIRINHAS E ENSINO DE HISTÓRIA: REFLEXÕES EM TORNO DE UMA EXPERIÊNCIA DE ENSINO APRENDIZAGEM

STEPHANY DE OLIVEIRA GALVAO 17 April 2019 (has links)
[en] We live in a world flooded by images, which multiply even more in the digital age. The present Master s thesis has as its starting point the premise that images as well as verbal texts can be read, since they are visual representations. The language of images has been studied for decades by historians, communicologists and semiologists. I propose to take it to the classroom, to discuss it and to create a space in digital medium to relate it to the lived history, outside the school environment. The type of image chosen to give materialization to this work were comic strips on the theme of the Cold War. The place of diffusion of these is a blog, type of digital diary that allows the exchange of knowledge between teacher and student.

The approaches that foundation phase grade 3 teachers use to promote effective literacy teaching : a case study

Lawrence, Jeanette Wilhelmina 02 1900 (has links)
The changing role of literacy in primary education, with its emphasis on the acknowledgement of the learner’s values, beliefs, culture, background and language is the focus of this study. The research was concerned with understanding the literacy practices of Foundation Phase Grade 3 teachers who are able to intentionally promote and mediate literacy acquisition among their learners. A qualitative design was used to describe the approaches of effective literacy teachers. The research study discovered that while the teachers made use of a number of teaching methods that underpinned a de-contextualised and constructivist approach, a socio-cultural approach to literacy was lacking. The results call for a broadening of the definition of literacy; one that acknowledges the socio-cultural background of the learners in developing a literacy disposition that prepares learners for a changing world. / Educational Studies / M. Tweedimensionele stilbeelde in 'n multimediapakket in tersiêre afstandsonderrig : didaktiese riglyne

Blignaut, Ernst Philippus 11 1900 (has links)
Summaries in Afrikaans and English / The transformative mission of the White Paper on Education (1995: 19) states that the South African education system is moving towards a single, national, non-racial system where all people are offered equil opportunities. Demographic and other changes make particular demands on the education system. The HSRC (1987:54) claim that distance edcation is increasingly viewed as a possible solution for educational problems. The literature study aims to motivate, from an andragogic-didactical perspective, the use of two-dimensional silent images in study material. A literature study was also undertaken on the perception of silent images and the elements involved in the perception of depth, movement, size, colour, etc., from which certain didactic guidelines were deducted with a view to the design of silent images. The ability of distance education students to identify the elements above, was emperically researched. The validity of the didactic guidelines were verified in this phase. / Educational Studies / M. Ed. (Didaktiek)
