The raised problem is: can a web site be identified as a educommunication gadget? Following this question, as the investigation methodology adopted dictates, the research major objectives were divided in two categories: one of action and the other of knowledge . The action goals are related to the ACEPSJ s web site project organization and educommunication strategies analysis and development to the site. Knowledge objectives are related to the understanding of education and communication interface in the analyzed process. Data were gathered in the researcher s field diary, collected from volunteers memberships and ACEPSJ s archives. In addition, 12 intentional semistructured interviews with key informers were conducted. Paulo Freire s (1988) dialogic theory is the theoretical framework, allied to Mario Kaplún s (1996) popular communication experiences, that arises in current discussion about a new interface between education and communication that may be named educommunication, according to investigator Ismar Oliveira Soares perspective (2006). The document analysis used as association specific supplementary action research method is the diagnosis, analysis and intervention device posed by Eduardo Vizer (2003). The results confirm the relevance of ducommunication management in integrating education and communication in associations communicative ecosystems. In this context, the web site may be considered as a educommunication gadget / Utilizando a metodologia da Pesquisa-ação (PA), foi realizado um estudo de caso qualitativo, cujo objeto de estudo são as relações entre educação e comunicação presentes no processo de construção do web site da Associação Ambientalista Comunitária Espiritualista Patriarca São José (ACEPSJ). O problema levantado foi: pode um website ser identificado como um dispositivo de educomunicação? No caminho deste questionamento, conforme preconiza a metodologia de investigação adotada, os principais objetivos da pesquisa foram divididos em duas categorias: da ação e de conhecimento . Os objetivos de ação dizem respeito à organização do projeto do web site da ACEPSJ, análise e desenvolvimento de estratégias de educomunicação para o site. Os objetivos de conhecimento estão relacionados à compreensão da interface entre educação e comunicação no processo estudado. Os dados foram reunidos no diário de campo do pesquisador, coletados junto aos sócios voluntários e nos arquivos da ACEPSJ. Foram realizadas, também, 12 entrevistas intencionais semi-estruturadas com informantes-chave. O referencial teórico é o da Teoria Dialógica de Paulo Freire (1988), aliada às experiências de comunicação popular de Mario Kaplún (1996), que hoje despontam na discussão sobre um novo campo de interface entre Educação/comunicação, que pode ser nomeado educomunicação, na perspectiva do pesquisador Ismar de Oliveira Soares (2006). A análise documental utilizou como método complementar de PA, específico para associações, o dispositivo de diagnóstico, análise e intervenção sistematizado por Eduardo Vizer (2003). Os resultados confirmam a relevância da gestão da educomunicação na integração da educação e da comunicação nos ecossistemas comunicativos de associações. Considerando isso, esse estudo teve por objetivo desenvolver um site que apresentasse orientações básicas para o desenvolvimento de todas as etapas da pesquisa e do texto acadêmico científico, com auxílio dos recursos de tecnologia de informação e comunicação. A fundamentação teórica pautou-se na observação da produção do texto acadêmico científico como um gênero cujas peculiaridade necessitam ser observadas e orientadas. As tecnologias de informação são concebidas como instrumentos por meio dos quais se pode atribuir ao pesquisador uma certa autonomia para a construção do conhecimento científico e/ou dar suporte ao ensino por meio da pesquisa. Quanto aos procedimentos metodológicos, o estudo dividiu-se em três fases: uma fase exploratória, uma fase de desenvolvimento do produto tecnológico e uma fase quantitativa para validação do produto. Na primeira fase, fez-se um levantamento bibliográfico sobre pesquisa e o uso de tecnologias como suporte para as atividades de pesquisa a fim de organizar o conteúdo do Site Pesquisa Acadêmica. Na segunda fase, a elaboração do produto se deu com a participação de uma equipe multidisciplinar, sendo este desenvolvido na Plataforma WordPress, que contempla HTML, PHP e banco de dados para que se adapte a todos os meios de utilização: PC, Tablet e Aparelhos Celulares. Por fim, na terceira e última fase, por meio de um estudo quantitativo, fez-se a avaliação do site em três etapas distintas: 1) validação do questionário por especialistas; 2) validação do questionário e análise do site por um estudo piloto e 3) validação final do site. O estudo quantitativo validou as fases anteriores do estudo, tendo em vista que os resultados obtidos na validação final, avaliaram o Site Pesquisa Acadêmica com o nível de satisfação muito satisfatório. A utilização do produto desenvolvido durante a coleta de dados na avaliação final permitiu inferir que o site poderá ser utilizado como suporte voltado às atividades de pesquisa por acadêmicos e professores. / Research as a teaching practice contributes to knowledge acquisition and production, and, with that in mind, students need to be guided to use sources of information as well as information and communication technology resources. Considering that, this study aimed at developing a website that showed the basic step-by-step guidelines to academic research and research paper development with the aid of communication and information technology. The theoretical underpinning was based on the observation of scientific research paper writings seen as a genre with its own peculiarities that need observation and guidance. Information Technologies are conceived as means by which researches have a certain freedom to improve scientific knowledge and /or help teaching through research. The methodological procedures were divided into three (3) steps: an exploratory one; a technological development and a quantitative step to validate the final product. The first step was a literature review about research and the use of technologies as a help for research activities in order to organize the website content to be developed. The second step was the making of the product with the participation of a multidisciplinary team. The product was developed on the Word Press Platform that has HTML, PHP and data bank so that it can be used with other gadgets such as: PC, Tablet and Cell phones. Lastly, the third step, with the use of a quantitative method of research, was the assessment of the website in three (3) distinct steps: questionnaire validation by specialists; (2) questionnaire validation and website analysis by means of a pilot study and (3) final website validation. The quantitative research has validated all the previous steps of the study given that the obtained results of the final validation have assessed the website with a “Very Satisfactory” level of satisfaction. The use of the developed product during data collection in the final assessment made it possible to infer that the website will be used as a support for research activities by both students and teachers.

Estes benefícios deveriam estar disponíveis para todas as pessoas, com o hardware e versão do software que utilizam, sua infra-estrutura de rede, linguagem nativa, cultura, localização geográfica, habilidade física e conhecimento. Estes aspectos estão relacionados tanto a questões sociais quanto tecnológicas. Considerando a diversidade de usuários e a complexidade de situações possíveis de uso da Web, buscam-se soluções para interfaces mais flexíveis, que possibilitem sua adaptação a diferentes contextos de uso. Este trabalho apresenta uma abordagem para solucionar o problema de como desenvolver interfaces de usuário flexíveis para sistemas Web, investigando como interfaces poderiam ser adaptadas a diferentes contextos de uso, considerando o conceito de normas da Semiótica Organizacional. Tal abordagem está representada em um framework, proposto neste trabalho, para apoiar designers e desenvolvedores na construção de interfaces flexíveis. Resultados obtidos na aplicação do framework em um sistema Web real, inserido no contexto da inclusão digital e acesso universal, são apresentados e discutidos nesta obra. Tais resultados são sugestivos da viabilidade da proposta e apontam para seu aprofundamento futuro / Abstract: According to W3C, the social value of the Web is in the fact that it enables communications, business and knowledge sharing opportunities. These benefits should be available for every person regardless of the person's hardware, software, network infrastructure, native language, cultural aspects, geographical location, physical and mental abilities. These aspects are related both to social and technological issues. Considering the differences among users and the complexity of possible Web usage, solutions are sought for more flexible user interfaces that allow their adaptation to different use contexts. This work presents an approach to solve the problem of developing flexible user interfaces for Web systems, investigating how interfaces can be adapted to different use contexts considering the concept of norms from Organizational Semiotics. This approach is represented by a framework, proposed on this work, that may help designers and developers to build flexible Web interfaces that may be adapted according to each use context. Results gathered when the framework was applied in a real Web system related to the context of universal access and digital inclusion are presented and discussed. Diante deste cenário de mudanças nas tecnologias da Computação e do uso crescente dos padrões de projeto em IHC, é apresentado, nesta dissertação, um estudo sobre como as mudanças tecnológicas podem impactar o ciclo de vida dos padrões de projeto da interação, considerando especificamente o contexto da Web para desktop. Com base na análise dos padrões e das tecnologias, é apresentada uma proposta de alteração de uma classificação de padrões existente para que ela passe a considerar a questão da dependência destes em relação à tecnologia / Abstract: The area of Computer Science known as Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) has evolved technologically over the years and changes can be seen in the interfaces and ways of interaction between people and applications. At the same time, the concept of design patterns has been used in the construction of interaction between human beings and computers, as a way to document experience and knowledge of building user interfaces in order to guide the development of new applications. In the light of the scenario of changes in Computing technologies and the increasing use of design patterns in HCI, this dissertation presents a study of how technological changes can impact the life cycle of interaction design patterns, considering specifically the context of the Web for desktop. Este conteúdo pode ser de vários tipos: textos, sons, imagens, animações, vídeos, entre outros. De modo geral, espera-se que professores desenvolvam e publiquem tal conteúdo por conta própria. Diante da necessidade de reutilização e compartilhamento de informação na forma de arquivos de diversos tipos por alunos e professores, torna-se relevante investigar novas formas de se aumentar a produtividade durante a autoria ao mesmo tempo em que se busca o favorecimento da aprendizagem. Desenvolveu-se, nessa perspectiva, um aplicativo de autoria de módulos educacionais em hipertexto com modelagem e posterior navegação auxiliada por mapas conceituais. Entre os objetivos pedagógicos do aplicativo desenvolvido, destaca-se o fato deste permitir o trabalho com mapas conceituais, diagramas que buscam favorecer a aprendizagem significativa, a qual guarda forte relação com criatividade e inovação, temas de importância na Educação em Engenharia atual. Contudo, tal aplicativo permite não apenas o trabalho com mapas conceituais, mas também a confecção de hipertexto na forma de páginas HTML, deste modo tornando-se útil no processo de autoria de tutoriais, trabalhos escolares, aulas virtuais ou até mesmo na indexação de arquivos de vários formatos sobre um dado tema. No caso de aulas virtuais, o aplicativo seria utilizado por um especialista em conteúdo, o qual pode ser um professor, para preparar uma primeira versão de um módulo educacional que, posteriormente, poderia ser desenvolvido com mais detalhes por uma equipe, se necessário. O aplicativo de autoria desenvolvido se denomina COMA (Conceitos e Mapas) e seu uso potencial vai além da área de Educação em Engenharia dada a sua facilidade de uso, a sua distribuição gratuita e a sua interface multilingüe / Abstract: One of the main activities in e-learning is content authoring. This content may be of several types: texts, sounds, animations, videos, etc. In general, it is expected from teachers to develop and publish this content by themselves. Due to the necessity of reusing and sharing information formatted as files of several kinds by students and teachers, it is relevant to investigate new ways of increasing productivity during the authoring process while trying to empower learning. In this perspective, it has been developed an application to author educational modules in hypertext with modeling and later navigation aided by concept mapping. Among the pedagogical objectives of the application developed, it can be mentioned that it allows working with concept maps, which are diagrams that favor meaningful learning. This learning theory is strongly related to creativity and innovation, themes of major importance in Engineering Education nowadays. But this application not only allows working with concept maps, it also develops hypertext as HTML pages. This makes it useful in the authoring process of tutorials, school work and virtual classes or in the indexation of files from several formats about a certain subject. In the case of virtual classes, the application would be used by a content expert, which may be a teacher; the purpose would be to prepare the first version of an educational module, which could be improved later on by a group of specialists, if needed. The nature of Internet and Intranet Web applications has changed from a static content-distribution medium into an interactive, dynamic medium, often used to serve multimedia from back-end object-relational databases to Web-enabled clients. Consequently, developers need to make an informed technological choice for developing software that supports a Web-based application for distributing multimedia over networks. This decision is based on several factors. Among the factors are ease of programming, richness of features, scalability, and performance. The research focuses on these key factors when distributing images from an Oracle9i database using Java Servlets, JSP, ASP, and ASP.NET as the server-side development technologies. Prototype applications are developed and tested within each technology: one for single image serving and the other for multiple image serving. För att särskiljas från konkurrenter och vara förtroendeingivande är en konsekvent grafisk identitet av stor vikt. Därför syftar föreliggande undersökning till att modernisera den grafiska identiteten hos Falu Glastjänst för att denna ska förmedla hållbarhet, kvalité och service. Vidare är målet att leverera en webbsida där den grafiska identiteten tillämpas och en rekommenderad grafisk manual till Falu Glastjänst. Semi-strukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med Falu Glastjänst och en kund till företaget. Två webbaserade enkätundersökningar utfördes där den första syftade till att ta reda på målgruppens tillvägagångssätt vid behov av ett glasmästeri, medan den andra enkäten utfördes för att testa det framtagna materialet på potentiella kunder. Vidare genomfördes Card Sortings med fyra potentiella kunder och tre personer inom IT-branschen för att bygga en maximal hierarki och således en användarvänlig webbsida. Undersökningen resulterade i en logotyp och grafisk identitet som enligt Falu Glastjänst samt tidigare- och potentiella kunder förmedlar hållbarhet, kvalité och service. Från undersökningen har även en webbsida kunnat tas fram, där hierarkin är baserad på respondenternas och således målgruppens önskemål och vanor. / Graphical identity is important for a company to distinguish itself from the competition and to give it a reliable business image. The present study aims therefore to modernize the graphical identity of Falu Glastjänst in order to communicate sustainability, quality and service. A further goal is to develop a website in which the modernized graphical identity is applied as well as a recommended graphical manual for Falu Glastjänst. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with Falu Glastjänst and one of its customers. Two web-based surveys were carried out. The first survey aimed at studying the behavior of a target group in need of glazing service. The second survey was carried out to test the results of the first survey on a new group of potential customers. In order to build a user-friendly website with best hierarchy, Card Sortings was carried out with four potential customers and three IT professionals. Results of the study include a new logotype and graphic identity which communicate sustainability, quality and service. This has been confirmed by Falu Glastjänst as well as their former and potential customers. A further result of the study is a new website for Falu Glastjänst with a hierarchy based on participants of the study and thereby the target group’s wishes and habits.

This project was created using ColdFusion 4.5 to build and implement a commercial web site to present a real picture of electronic commerce. This project is intended to provide enough information for other students who are looking for a guideline for further study and to improve their skills in business from an information management aspect.

The purpose of this project is to review the literature on the importance of creating school web sites and to show how Dartmouth Middle School can successfully plan an effective site. The project focuses on the significance of having a school web site as a way to add to the communication process between school and parents.

This project describes the inception and development of a high school web site along with subsequent implementation issues, limitation, benefits, and recommendations visual design and learning principles and the history of hypermedia are also discussed, and a model is tendered for other schools to follow when constructing a web site.
