Ericsson, Sandra, Granqvist, Emelie January 2013 (has links)
Healthcare in Sweden are in need of a drastic change to meet the requirements of highly developed societies, and information technology is seen as an essential part to get there. However, the Swedish healthcare have to challenge their traditional innovation approaches as well. For example, it has become more common to engage patients in the innovation process through web-based platforms. We have been focusing on an approach called co-creation by studying a workshop, in which potential users and other stakeholders are cooperating creatively to come up with innovative solutions in order to improve healthcare practice. Our findings suggests that co-creation may increase the mutual understanding between different stakeholders, for example healthcare professionals and IT developers, enable horizontal learning through and outside the organization and also to raise concepts and actions that are responding to healthcare needs. However, we have found important challenges in bridging barriers that may occur when gathering people of different competencies, and involving proper participants that are representative of their groups.

Strategie celoživotního vzdělávání orgánů státní správy lesů / Strategy of lifelong education of State Forestry Administration authorities

Polívka, Martin January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to formulate a strategy for lifelong education of the state forest administration authorities' workers. The Ministry of Agriculture runs the education in the state and public administration on the basis of the Education Conception of the Ministry of Agriculture for the years of 2015-2020. This conception outlines education of state and public administration workers with departmental specialization. It determines the basic frame of lifelong education of all workers with departmental specialization. Yet there is no detailed strategy for particular domains of the department which would respond to real needs in practice. The strategy proposed in this thesis focuses on state forest administration workers at municipalities and regional offices. It is based on results of previous research which surveys the situation of state forest administration workers from the point of view of their work performance. Our research, which makes part of this thesis, is focused on their vocational lifelong education and surveys their needs concerning work performance and preferred forms and tools of further special education. This research serves for formulation of educational strategy and represents an analysis of needs which should be repeated at certain intervals. Regarding the context...

Nyström, Natalie, Croce, Sebastian January 2021 (has links)
Obstacles within production flows at manufacturing companies can occur. These obstacles may occur due to lack of communication, problems with the production planning department or some other leading function within the company, alternatively due to varying capacity of different operations in the production flow.  Because of these problems, the purpose of this thesis is to investigate and identify possible organizational challenges within the production flow of a manufacturing company. The objective with this analysis is to enlighten problems in a methodical and structured way. In order to identify the organizational challenges, the production flow through a specific process at a case company is being analyzed, a curing process. A literature review introducing Lean Production, as well as eight semi-structured interviews, was the beginning of the methodology. To answer the purpose of the thesis, a workshop with 14 participants from the company was held, and the interview answers formed the base for the workshop.  Results of the study shows that the production flow has a few areas that are in need of some improvements. Today, the company is lacking a clear communication of needs between some processes before and after the curing process. The results of this is an uneven product flow and the need for clearer, short term planning within the production flow. Results of the study will be implemented in the working method at the case company, with the purpose to reduce or eliminate the identified challenges.  Outcomes of this thesis are methods and models within Lean Production that could assist the case company in addressing existing challenges as well as identifying future challenges. In order to ensure that the suggested method is applicable by other manufacturing companies, further research of more companies is needed.

International Workshop on Advanced Techniques in Actinide Spectroscopy (ATAS 2012) - Abstract Book

Foerstendorf, H., Steudtner, R. January 2012 (has links)
Modern Societies have to consider diverse tasks strongly related to geochemistry sciences. Examples intensively discussed in the public are restoration measures for contaminated industrial fallow grounds, the safe storage of chemical-toxic and radioactive waste, carbon dioxide sequestration to reduce green-house gas emissions, the construction and operation of deep geothermal power plants, the geochemical exploration of natural resources or water and waste water treatments, including desalination efforts. Direct and urgent aspects to be dealt with are analytical and geochemical consequences of the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. All these cases have one in common – they require reliable thermodynamic data in order to forecast the fate of chemicals in the respective environment. Whereas a variety of standard methods, such as potentiometry, solubility studies, liquid-liquid extraction or electrochemical titrations, are in widespread use to generate thermodynamic data, it is far less straightforward to assign correct reaction pathways and structural patterns to the underlying chemical transformations. This especially holds for systems with strong tendencies to complexation and oligomerization. Here, it is essential to have proof of evidence for all involved species, which cannot be provided by the aforementioned methods, and is still lacking for various metal-containing systems. Spectroscopic techniques in combination with approaches from quantum chemistry can be of great benefit for such tasks. However, their application ranges are often restricted with respect to the type of element (and redox state) that can be probed. Further handicaps are imposed by detection limits or other parameters such as pH or salinity. Moreover, the spectroscopic results are often difficult to interpret in an unambiguous way. To overcome these complications at least partially, this workshop has been initiated. It shall significantly extend the application areas of spectroscopic tools important for lanthanide and actinide chemistry. Emphasis shall be placed on the development of spectroscopic methods towards more challenging environmental conditions – such as very basic pH values, elevated temperatures, pressures, or salinities – extending the range of covered elements and redox states. Furthermore, the exploration of options for lowering detection limits and increasing spatial resolution at sufficiently high signal-to-noise ratios will support future investigations on more complex systems. An approach combining the extension of spectroscopic tools with respect to elements and parameters, improvements of experimental setups, and applications of quantum chemical methods in predictive as well as interpretative ways certainly can be very beneficial. The workshop hopefully will bundle and strengthen respective research activities and ideally act as a nucleus for an international network, closely collaborating with international partners. I am confident that the workshop will deliver many exciting ideas, promote scientific discussions, stimulate new developments and in such a way be successful.

To contribute to a circular society with an upcycling-workshop

Pålsson, Isabell January 2020 (has links)
In the manufacturing process of fiber, textiles and finished garments, it consumes an enormous amount of energy, water and chemicals. In addition, the fashion industry causes greenhouse gas emissions that affect climate change throughout the life cycle of an item of clothing. This study examines whether an upcycling workshop can be a solution to the fashion industry's environmental problems and how an upcycling workshop can be designed to increase consumer involvement in efforts to extend the life of clothing. In the problem discussion of the study, the business and consumer perspective are described as two areas that previous research has examined and further describes consumer involvement as the field this study examines. The research questions that the study will answer are which parts are important in the design of an upcycling workshop and how an upcycling workshop with consumer involvement in focus can be beneficial from a business and consumer perspective. The study's frame of reference describes how an upcycling process is done, what upcycling methods exist and how upcycling is beneficial for a sustainable consumer. With the help of literature and previous research projects in the theoretical model, the design of the first 8 building blocks begins as a foundation for the design of an upcycling workshop. The study has an abduction research approach and has used literature studies and a delphi inspired method approach for the collection of empirical material. The results and analysis present the empirical material that the delphi method has collected through qualitative interview questions. Clarifying structure and content, development of duration, equipment and cost, and simplification of process progression and upcycling methods were knowledge generated by the research. The conclusion of the study is that upcycling workshops can be used as a tool to engage fashion consumers to be a more creative consumer. Based on the results of the study, an additional 6 building blocks were identified and the development of asset, structure, cost, content and duration was necessary to increase the feasibility of an upcycling workshop.

Participatory Design with the Bulgarian LGBTQ+ Community : Localized Responses to Systemic Homophobia

Ivanova, Siyana January 2022 (has links)
Research shows that Bulgaria is among the least LGBTQ+ friendly countries in the European Union, with members of the community facing discrimination, hostility, and violence both in their everyday lives and on a systemic level. The environment of suppression and stigma has also had an effect on the volume of local research into LGBTQ+ issues. This project’s goal is to fit into that research gap by providing a perspective on the problems faced by Bulgarian LGBTQ+ people and the plausible, practical solutions they would like to see or be part of on a local level. Participants focused on solutions that would create a space for queer community and expression, provide support and information where it is needed, and grow stronger community bonds. Some of those solutions were technological (such as an informational application and a community forum), others focused on interpersonal connection (such as an LGBTQ+ book club), and yet others on direct action (distributing counterpropaganda).

Deconstructing habits and behaviors that are already impregnated in people’s routine and turn it into something positive for them are complex tasks. The perception of this problematic's importance had risen the designers to start the search for knowledge about the subject in the field of behavioral psychology, thus leading to the emergence of a field recognized as design for behavior change "DfBC". Therefore, it was identified that the research established until then, briefly addressed the role and the participation of all the actors (designer, user and professionals from other knowledge areas) involved in the design process. From this perception on, the present research approached how the designer and the other actors can contribute in an interdisciplinary way to the project process, into the design perspective for behavior change. The methodological course included the elaboration of strategies and materials for later application in three cycles of workshops. After this, semi-structured interviews were carried out, for later analysis through the technique of content analysis. Its concluded that supply of materials and tools, can stimulate the relationships between these actors in different manners. It was observed that designers and psychologists divided decision making and group leadership throughout the design process. In turn, the users acted as informers of their experiences, but their actions were surrounded by conflicts and contradictions. The technical knowledge of the nutritionists were useful throughout the process, however, this actor had a less active participation than the other participants. In view of these observations, it is concluded that three profiles of actors must always be present in DfBC projects, regardless of the design theme, are: (i) designer; (ii) user and (iii) psychologist. However, a fourth actor to join the group should be aggregate, the specialist of the specific area of the project theme. Also presented are guidelines to be applied in projects involving professionals from these different areas of knowledge. Finally, design guidelines are proposed that objective to stimulate and contribute to future studies about design for behavior change and the participation of different actors in project processes.

Lima, Cleber de Carvalho 10 October 2013 (has links)
This work investigates the proposition of hypertext courseware on contemporary scenic poetic elements as a starting point for theater creation and learning processes, having primarily relied, as a methodological input, on Michel Thiollent\'s action-research approach. The bibliographical review has resulted in hypertext courseware (MARTINS, 2006), to be published on the internet, about Teatro da Vertigem (São Paulo), having thus generated a multimode, hypertext material for educational use, which puts together theoretical texts, critical reviews, records of spectacles and processes, testimonials of artists, a description and analysis of creation processes and procedures, and figments of theater practice. The conduction and analysis of two learning and staging experiments held in the city of Campo Limpo Paulista (São Paulo, Brazil), comprising a group of theater novices and another group made up of amateur actors aged 18 to 42, allowed me to systematize some learning principles and methodologies of the contemporary theater. The theater game based on esthetic frameworks (KOUDELA, RYNGAERT, PUPO, MARTINS) as well as on collaborative approach procedures devised by ARAÚJO are the guiding pillars for the creation practices proposed during the experiments based on the educational hypertext as devised by the coordinator and further expanded by the players. Selection of theoretical references has drawn on such contemporary theater theorists as LEHMANN, FERRAL, FERNANDES, ARAÚJO, PAVIS, and SARRAZAC. The results may contribute to debates over the methodological approaches that bring together theoretical and historical studies, on one part, and collaborative staging practices, which might be useful for teachers, workshop coordinators and stage directors involving in a reflection over the contemporary theater creation and learning processes.
