När bok blir film… : En jämförande analys av boken och filmen Catch me if you canJuniku, Majlinda January 2008 (has links)
<p>Abstract</p><p>Title: When book becomes film... – a comparative analysis of the book and film Catch me if you can (När bok blir till film…En jämförande analys av boken och filmen Catch me if you can)</p><p>Number of pages: 46</p><p>Author: Majlinda Juniku</p><p>Tutor: Amelie Hössjer</p><p>Course: Media and Communication Studies C</p><p>Period: Autumn term 2007</p><p>University: Division of Media and Communication, Department of Information Science, Uppsala University.</p><p>Purpose/Aim: To study what model of dramaturgy belongs to the film Catch me if you can and to see what has been crossed out, altered and added from the book so the narrative will fit this model.</p><p>Material/Method: The film Catch me if you can and the book with the same name has been used to analyze the differences between them. I have divided the differences into three categories: Crossed out, Altered and Added. In the analysis section these have been presented in each section of the film.</p><p>Main results: Catch me if you can is definetly a film made with the design of the Anglosaxon model, mostly because of its timestructure and that it portrays an action and not just a condition which is normal in the epic-lyric model. Big parts of the story have been crossed out, altered and added to make the film more acceptabel to the audience. Most of the changeshad been done to make the story shorter to fit the timeframe of a film. Events had been joinedtogether to save time but not miss anything. A character, Hanratty, has been reinforced to create a cat-and-mouse story and add excitement to the film. Other changes have been made to make the main character seem more likeable to the audience.</p><p>Keywords: book, film, dramaturgy, Catch me if you can, anglo-saxon, epic-lyric</p>

Jesus Christ's substitutionary death / an attempt to reconcila two divergent Seventh-Day Adventist teachingsMwale, Emmanuel 11 1900 (has links)
At the incarnation, Jesus Christ assumed the fallen human nature that He found. Having lived a life of perfect obedience in the fallen human flesh that He assumed, He voluntarily and willingly bore the sins of the entire human race and died the second death for, and in our place; thereby paying the penalty for sin. Jesus Christ bore our sins (acts or behaviours) vicariously, while sin as nature or a law residing in the fallen human flesh that He assumed was condemned in that flesh and received eternal destruction on the cross. Thus, on the cross, in Christ, God saved the entire humanity. On the cross, the condemnation that the entire humanity had received by being genetically linked to Adam was reversed in Christ. Thus, the entire human race stands legally justified. But this is a gift, which can either be received or rejected. Therefore, salvation is not automatic. / Philosophy, Practical and Systematic Theology / M. Th.(Systematic Theology)

Master of Science / Department of Computer Science / Daniel A. Andresen / New to K-State??? No worries!!! This app will be your first friend and help you with everything you may need. Every new incoming student to K-State has to do a set of mandatory activities before they start their classes. Many times they use a pamphlet or word of mouth by students or faculty around, on what to do and whom to visit. But, this information may not be reliable or could have been expired/updated, and students miss on certain crucial things which delays their work. The same follows with various events organized by the college to welcome new students.
This app will be a solution for all these problems. It will provide students with all the details they need before they actually become familiar with the school and even after that. Each student gets to see the To-Do's which are a set of mandatory activities, he/she has to do before they enroll for the classes and also, he can know about various events happening around the university. Students can also suggest new events if they are not already updated in the events list. All these activities are monitored and controlled by the Admin.

Previous issue date: 2009-05-15 / The use of YOU as a second person pronoun in the Brazilian language, has a
singular form in the national territory and it is a fact that makes us think about the
historical and social changes that led it to this alternative in the closer and right
direction to the interlocutor.
Through the teorical issues about History of Linguistic Ideas, this work tried to show
the reasons that led the YOU to this national option, contracting, this way, the
Portuguese language spoken in Brazil with the Portuguese spoken in Portugal,
where the use of THOU and YOU shows accurated tints, being the first one an
interlocutor´s informal treatment and the second a seminformal one.
For building the ways for the literary history about this pronoun, the medieval origins
were retaken by the reverencial treatment from the interlocutor, by the process of
changes about personal treatment from Portugal to Brazil, by the acceptation and
the semantical wear, besides its insertion in the literary scripts through a fast
reviewing about literature works from XVII and XVIII centuries and a deeper study
about national ones from XIX and XX centuries, cause it was a period of a national
affirmation, lots of novel productions and a growing worry about the truth
construction for the speach participation from the characters.
The construction of the grammatical way allowed confirming how much Linguistical
progress could change the relationship to the pronominal meanings, not to mention
certificating the conservative character, as Grammar says, by certifying that a
linguistic fact, even not questioned, could postpone its legal use in a gramatical
script, even it´s being prescritive or descritive / O emprego do pronome você como pronome de segunda pessoa, no
personagens.
A construção do percurso gramatical permitiu constatar o quanto o progresso

This thesis aims to analyze the database of video-sharing site YouTube, through an archeologic look for the medium, and the insertion of the audiovisual in this environment proposed by Foucault (2008), seeking to understand how the database, through its repository structure in constant motion, modifies the audiovisual within the site. The research tries to understand the concepts of "file" and "utterance" also proposed by Foucault, as well as the specific concepts that permeate the digital media, such as software, interfaces, and hyperlinks. The paper also delves into McLuhan (1964) propositions of media as a man extension, proposing the computer as an extension of the brain; movement that leads us to the concept of Body-Image, which suggests that the true picture of image is between human perception and object itself, therefore, it exists only in the dialogue between body and image. This idea is improved up through a methodology that we call brain-cartography, a method that seeks to identify the observable on the site from a search process conducted by the affection, according to the propositions of Hansen (2004), supported by Bergson, where we chose objects that affect us. This process is driven by keywords that perform this interconnection between different observables. Rather than focusing solely on the videos from the site, we identified all the tools that make this different audiovisual on YouTube. Among which, we highlight different possibilities from the software, user interaction with the machine, as well as the very way that the database is organized. This cartographic analysis identifies points capable of stating which database is emerging from YouTube, making it possible to understand a little more about the interaction between the database and the website. The concept of embodied proposed by Hansen (2004), as well as McLuhan (1964) studies are unavoidable in the methodology organization, allowing us to understand the connection between the database and memory, thus, leading the search for the analysis which cannot observe only the videos within YouTube, but all their potent, allowing it to emerge through a new audiovisual database. A database as an extension of memory, which is capable of, from small utterances, put the file in motion, producing part of an audiovisual experience that comes with generating a Youtubity that can be perceived in different objects analyzed. Building through distinct utterances, some statements that become part of the discourse in the final analysis.

Targeted feedback collection for data source selection with uncertaintyCortés Ríos, Julio César January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this dissertation is to contribute to research on pay-as-you-go data integration through the proposal of an approach for targeted feedback collection (TFC), which aims to improve the cost-effectiveness of feedback collection, especially when there is uncertainty associated with characteristics of the integration artefacts. In particular, this dissertation focuses on the data source selection task in data integration. It is shown how the impact of uncertainty about the evaluation of the characteristics of the candidate data sources, also known as data criteria, can be reduced, in a cost-effective manner, thereby improving the solutions to the data source selection problem. This dissertation shows how alternative approaches such as active learning and simple heuristics have drawbacks that throw light into the pursuit of better solutions to the problem. This dissertation describes the resulting TFC strategy and reports on its evaluation against alternative techniques. The evaluation scenarios vary from synthetic data sources with a single criterion and reliable feedback to real data sources with multiple criteria and unreliable feedback (such as can be obtained through crowdsourcing). The results confirm that the proposed TFC approach is cost-effective and leads to improved solutions for data source selection by seeking feedback that reduces uncertainty about the data criteria of the candidate data sources.

This is a theoretical research that aims to analyze voices of children in the practice of philosophy. In order to do so, we analyze the work of the GEPFC (Unesp - FCLAr Research Group and Philosophy for Children), NEFI (Nucleus of Philosophical Studies of Childhood) of UERJ - State University of Rio de Janeiro, and other experiences in Portugal Rita Pedro), Italy (Giuseppe Ferraro) and Colombia (Cortés and Vaca). From the conception of aionic childhood, the analysis of these voices consists of a reescuta, that is, a new listening with the intention of making them more visible by the differentiated experience that this practice proposes. The presence of this philosophy in the educational field acts as a point of resistance against the disciplinary power of the school institution. We find in these accounts a care with thinking that structures the care of self, a concept worked by the French philosopher Michel Foucault. Thus, we start from some Foucaultian presuppositions, especially those of his last writings, in which the question of the process of subjectivation is problematized by the author. In addition to the concept of self-care, we will also use the parrhesia and the listening that are some practices of oneself exercised in Antiquity and that are related in the analyzes of the experiences of the philosophy with children. In addition to reading Foucault, we rely on other authors in the field of the philosophy of education, such as Jorge Larrosa, Walter Kohan, Veiga-Neto and Silvio Gallo to rethink the experiences of these subjects in the school context.

Previous issue date: 2009-06-08 / The Agricultural Education aims to form professionals that may be able to act both in the
productive chains of the agricultural section and in the organization of the social movements
of the field, contributing directly for the improvement or not of the quality of life of the
resident populations in the rural section. In this context, based on the growing outside and
inside pressures on behalf of the preservation of the Amazon forest and for the need of public
actions aiming to stimulate the family agriculture in the state of Amazonas, the institutions of
agricultural teaching are challenged to propose pedagogical actions that aim the professionals'
formation committed with the sustainable development of Amazon and with a form of less
aggressive agriculture towards the environment and with low social exclusion. The complex
relationship of the tripod man-nature-economy motivated to research, on the grounds of the
Escola Agrot?cnica Federal de Manaus, how the curriculum of the Technical course of
Agriculture is structured, verifying if it matches with the reality of the traditional populations
of Amazon, making it possible that qualified professionals' formation is assisting family
agriculture in a sustainable perspective having agroecology as a scientific basis. It is believed
that, to reach this goal, it is necessary to break with the type of agriculture based on the
grounds of the green revolution which is characterized as excluding in the social and
aggressive point of view to the environment, and moves towards a sustainable agriculture
with agroecological grounds where the human being and the environment has the same
importance as that of economical aspects. We believe that economical, social and
environmental sustainability directs into pedagogical actions of the technical course in
agriculture's curriculum of the Escola Federal Agrot?cnica de Manaus. The curriculum's
conception, education x work's relationship, the family agriculture a nd the agroecology are
theory referential that will support this research. In such perspective, the research was
developed with the participation of teachers, students, former students, Escola Agrot?cnica
Federal de Manaus' managers and public and private institutions' managers who are connected
to primary section that keep in touch with former students of this school. For a deep analysis,
official documents from MEC and from the school, semi-structured interviews and
questionnaires with half-open subjects were used as tools of collecting data. Such was done to
check closely on the social actors, to find out if the course is assisting the needs of the small
rural producers of Amazonas and if the graduated professionals are leaving school with a
profile that will assist an agriculture of agroecological basis. Some analysis and contributions
are given in the end of the research / A Educa??o Agr?cola tem por objetivo formar profissionais que poder?o atuar tanto nas
A complexa
aspectos econ?micos.
