Previous issue date: 2016 / This research aims to know through the narrative of two educators its universe of training and teaching practice where they deslindam multiple questions about the versatile teacher divided between professional, work and idealization in their daily lives with the children and the community. The search is the articulation of formal knowledge, informal, non-formal, historical so that these studies can contribute to social and historical theory of the individual and, by extension of social groups. The object are the narratives of life story / experience / confrontation with knowledge / knowledge transformed into teaching practice during childhood / elementary school during the passage of the twentieth century to the twenty-first in Fortaleza / Ceará. We used the life story as a research methodology, but also the bibliographical and documentary analysis, where we highlight the National Association for Training of Education Professionals (ANFOPE). The theoretical background is discussed by Nóvoa with aspects of teacher education in the contemporary world and the concept of "narrative itself" represented by Passegi (UFRN) and Souza (UNEB). The meaning of the paradox of maintaining between idealization and his real condition of life is perceived through the speech of the teachers themselves by telling their life stories in an intimate dialogue between training and practice irrigated by their identities. / Esta pesquisa tem como objetivo conhecer através da narrativa de duas educadoras o seu universo de formação e prática docente aonde se deslindam questões múltiplas sobre o professor polivalente dividido entre a profissionalização, o trabalho e a idealização em seu cotidiano com as crianças e a comunidade. A busca é a articulação de saberes formais, informais, não formais, históricos a fim de que esses estudos possam contribuir para uma teoria histórica e social do indivíduo e, por extensão dos grupos sociais. O objeto são as narrativas de história de vida/experiência/confronto com o saber/conhecimento transformado em prática docente durante o ensino infantil/fundamental durante a passagem do século XX ao XXI em Fortaleza/Ceará. Utilizamos da história de vida como metodologia de pesquisa, mas, também a análise bibliográfica e documental, onde destacamos a Associação Nacional pela Formação dos Profissionais da Educação (ANFOPE). O referencial teórico é discutido através de Nóvoa com aspectos da formação docente no mundo contemporâneo e o conceito de “narrativa de si” representado por Passegi (UFRN) e Souza (UNEB). O significado da manutenção do paradoxo entre a idealização e a sua real condição de vida é percebido através da fala dos próprios professores pela narração de suas histórias de vida num diálogo íntimo entre a formação e a prática irrigado por suas identidades.

Pay-as-you-go instance-level integrationMaskat, Ruhaila January 2016 (has links)
With the growing demand for information in various domains, sharing of information from heterogeneous data sources is now a necessity. Data integration approaches promise to combine data from these different sources and present to the user a single, unified view of these data. However, although these approaches offer high quality services for the managing and integrating of data, they come with a high cost. This is because a great amount of manual effort to form relationships across data sources is needed to set up the data integration system. A newer variant of data integration, known as dataspaces, aims to spread the large manual effort spent at the start of the data integration system to the rest of the system's phases. This is achieved by soliciting from the user their feedback on a chosen artefact of a dataspace, either by explicit ways or implicitly. This practice is known as pay-as-you-go, where a user continuously pays to the data integration system, by providing feedback, to gain improvements in the quality of data integration. This PhD addresses two challenges in data integration by using pay-as-you-go approaches. The first is to identify instances relevant to a user's information need, calling for semantic mappings to be closely considered. Our contribution is a technique that ranks mappings with the help of implicit user feedback (i.e., terms found in query logs). Our evaluation shows that to produce stable rankings, our technique does not require large-sized query logs, and that our generated ranking is able to respond satisfactorily to the amount of terms inclined towards a particular data source, where we describe it as skew. The second challenge that we address is the identification of duplicate instances from disparate data sources. We contribute a strategy that uses explicitly-obtained user feedback to drive an evolutionary search algorithm to find suitable parameters for an underlying clustering algorithm. Our experiments show that optimising the algorithm's parameters and introducing attribute weights produces fitter clusters than clustering alone. However, our strategy to improve on integration quality can be quite expensive. Therefore, we propose a pruning technique to select from a dataset any records that are informative. Our experiment shows that on most of the datasets, our pruner produce comparably fit clusters with more feedback received.

Previous issue date: 2016-09-28 / CAPES / Esta pesquisa, intitulada “Relações entre o currículo vivido no curso de pedagogia e o processo
de construção da identidade do professor”, trata das articulações entre o curso de pedagogia
da UFPE-CAA e a dinâmica de invenção de si como professor. Tivemos como objetivos
específicos identificar, no discurso dos estudantes, como os componentes curriculares do curso
de pedagogia e as atividades complementares se relacionam com o processo de construção da
identidade. Para tanto, partimos da contribuição teórica de Kaufmann (2005) que aponta a
identidade como invenção de si a partir da relação entre o social e o subjetivo. Sendo assim, a
formação do professor ocorre por meio das negociações entre sujeito e currículo (MACEDO,
2012). Nesta direção, trazemos a perspectiva do Ciclo de Políticas (BALL, 2001;
MAINARDES, 2006) e a concepção do currículo como confluência de práticas e abordamos o
currículo vivido como um espaço formativo no qual os sujeitos estão implicados de maneira a
atribuírem sentidos a suas vivências curriculares e a si mesmo. No desenvolvimento da
pesquisa, utilizamos como caminho teórico-metodológico a Análise do Discurso - AD
(ORLANDI, 2013), considerando o dito, o não dito, assim como o já dito, ou seja, a memória
discursiva ou interdiscurso presentes nas produções discursivas dos sujeitos da pesquisa. A
definição dos sujeitos da pesquisa decorreu da aplicação dos questionários. Em seguida,
realizamos as entrevistas semiestruturadas. Como resultados da pesquisa, identificamos que as
atividades do componente curricular Estágio Supervisionado e do PIBID aproximam os
estudantes dos desafios e das demandas do campo de atuação profissional e, com isto, emerge
o sentido de que o processo de construção da identidade do professor ocorre a partir das relações
entre os estudos teóricos da formação inicial, o curso de pedagogia, e a prática exercida no chão
das escolas. No discurso sobre o componente curricular Avaliação da Aprendizagem Escolar,
surgiu o sentido de que a avaliação contínua e processual contribui na inventividade de si,
porque implica o ato reflexivo e criador de planejar e replanejar os processos de ensino e
aprendizagem, considerando as individualidades, diferenças e potencialidades dos alunos. No
que se referem aos discursos sobre o componente Pesquisa e Prática Pedagógica e as atividades
de PIBIC, emerge o sentido de que a pesquisa quando articulada à prática profissional, colabora
na superação de uma educação pautada no ensino como transmissão e da aprendizagem como
memorização, neste caso, o sujeito pode assumir uma posição ativa e propositiva no processo
de produção de saberes e constrói a si mesmo com base na reflexão, investigação e autonomia.
Com relação ao vivido no componente Currículo e Programas, os saberes construídos a respeito
do currículo, no que se refere às relações de poder que o permeiam, assim como as
intencionalidades, os interesses e, portanto, a sua não neutralidade, contribuem para o
posicionamento inventivo, crítico e reflexivo frente ao currículo e aos desafios da prática
curricular. A pesquisa também revelou os impactos do movimento estudantil no processo
identitário, à medida que a prática militante, pautada na atuação política e desejo de mudanças,
impulsiona projetos de atuações políticas e transformações possíveis nas escolas e na vida dos
alunos. / This research entitled "Relationship between the curriculum lived in the course of education
and the process of construction of teacher identity" includes the joints between the pedagogy
course UFPE-CAA and the dynamics of invention himself as a teacher. We had specific
objectives, identify the speech of students, such as curriculum components of the course of
pedagogy and enrichment activities relate to the process of identity construction. The starting
point of the theoretical contribution of Kaufman (2005) pointing to identity as inventing itself
from the relationship between the social and the subjective. Thus, teacher education takes place
through negotiations between subject and curriculum (MACEDO, 2012). In this direction, we
bring the policy cycle perspective (Ball, 2001; Mainardes, 2006) and the design of the
curriculum as a confluence of practice (2000) and approach the curriculum lived as an
educational space in which subjects are involved in order to allocate directions to their
curricular experiences and himself. The development of research, we used as a theoretical and
methodological approach to discourse- AD Analysis (ORLANDI, 2013), considering said, not
said, as the others have said, that is, the discursive memory or interdiscourse present in
discursive productions research subjects. The definition of research subjects held the
questionnaires. Then we conducted the semi-structured interviews. As a result of the research,
we found that the activities of the curriculum component Supervised Internship and PIBID,
close students of the challenges and demands of the professional field and, thus, emerges the
sense that the process of building the teacher's identity occurs from the relationship between
the theoretical studies of initial training, pedagogy course and the practice carried on the floor
of the schools. In his speech on the curricular component School Learning Evaluation, revolted
the sense that ongoing and procedural evaluation contributes to the inventiveness of itself,
because it implies the reflexive act and creator of planning and redesign the processes of
teaching and learning, considering the individualities, differences and potential students. In
referring to the discourse on Research and Teaching Practice component and activities of PIBIC
emerges the sense that research when articulated to professional practice, collaborate in
overcoming an education based on teaching as transmission and learning as memorization, this
case, the subject can take an active and purposeful position in the knowledge production process
and builds itself based on reflection, research and autonomy. Regarding lived in Curriculum
and Programs component, constructed knowledge about the curriculum, as regards the relations
of power that permeates as well as the intentions, interests and therefore its not neutral,
contributes to positioning inventive, critical and reflective front of the curriculum and the
challenges of curricular practice. The survey also revealed the impact of the student movement
in the identity process, as the militant practice, based on political action and desire for change,
propels political actions projects and possible changes in schools and in the lives of students.

Avaliação de características tecnológicas de madeira para serraria em progênies de polinização aberta de eucalipto e implicações para o melhoramento genético. / Evaluation of technological properties of wood in open-pollinated progenies of eucalypt and its implication for sawn timber breeding program.Paulo Eduardo Telles dos Santos 08 May 2002 (has links)
Foram avaliadas 41 progênies de polinização aberta de Eucalyptus grandis procedência Luís Antônio (ex-Atherton, Austrália), em dois experimentos instalados na área experimental da empresa Votorantim Celulose e Papel, em Altinópolis-SP. Um dos experimentos era constituído de 20 progênies e outro de 21 progênies, ambos no delineamento em blocos ao acaso com 3 repetições e parcelas lineares de 6 plantas. A avaliação experimental foi realizada no ano 2000, à idade de 8 anos. Para isso foram escolhidas 2 árvores de cada parcela, caracterizadas por uma maior aptidão visual para serraria. No total foram avaliadas 242 árvores, 299 toras e 1.200 tábuas. De cada árvore foram retirados 3 discos de madeira, um em cada posição (base, meio e topo) a intervalos aproximados de 2,60m, para determinação da densidade básica e da umidade natural. As toras foram avaliadas quanto ao volume sem casca, excentricidade, teor de casca, rachaduras de extremidades e relação alburno/cerne. Posteriormente, as toras foram convertidas em tábuas na serraria industrial da empresa Eucatex S/A Indústria e Comércio, em Salto-SP, sendo o desdobro primário efetuado em serra de fita dupla e o secundário em serra múltipla circular. As tábuas foram avaliadas na condição verde quanto aos empenamentos e, nas condições verde e seca (12% de umidade), quanto às rachaduras de extremidades. As propriedades físico-mecânicas foram avaliadas na condição seca em corpos-de-prova oriundos da tábua mais externa. Os caracteres avaliados foram: massa específica, compressão paralela, cisalhamento paralelo e flexão estática. Os dados experimentais foram submetidos a análises estatístico-genéticas, como uso do programa estatístico SAS ® , aplicando-se o método da máxima verossimilhança restrita (REML) para a estimação dos componentes de variância. Foram detectadas diferenças estatísticas significativas para os caracteres densidade básica, rachaduras de tora, relação alburno/cerne, encurvamento, massa específica, compressão paralela e flexão estática, os quais mostraram ser promissores para o melhoramento, com herdabilidades entre médias de progênies de 0,34; 0,31; 0,39; 0,39; 0,61; 0,57 e 0,50, respectivamente. Para os caracteres umidade natural, rachaduras de tábuas, volume de tora sem casca, excentricidade de tora, teor de casca, arqueamento e cisalhamento paralelo não foi detectada a ocorrência de variação genética. Detectou-se também a existência de correlações genéticas de magnitudes medianas a altas entre as propriedades físico-mecânicas e entre os caracteres densidade básica e rachaduras de tora, densidade básica e encurvamento, massa específica e encurvamento, relação alburno/cerne e encurvamento, volume de tora e encurvamento, volume de tora e rachaduras de tora. As estimativas dos ganhos esperados com a seleção entre médias de progênies, numa intensidade de 20%, indicaram a possibilidade de ganhos para os caracteres volume de tora (0,59%), densidade básica ( 2,15%), rachaduras de tora ( 7,69%) e encurvamento ( 2,65%), considerando que para os três últimos a seleção é para a redução das médias. Verificou-se também que um índice de seleção composto por esses quatro caracteres pode proporcionar ganhos de mesma magnitude daqueles que seriam obtidos individualmente para os três últimos caracteres. Quanto aos aspectos tecnológicos, as seguintes constatações foram observadas: a) o padrão de variação da densidade básica foi de um grande decréscimo inicial seguido de um pequeno aumento e, no caso da umidade natural, de um contínuo decréscimo; b) os caracteres teor de casca, relação alburno/cerne, encurvamento e rachaduras de extremidades de tora e de tábuas foram bastante influenciados pela posição de amostragem na árvore; c) um comportamento semelhante entre as primeiras e as segundas toras em relação às rachaduras e ao arqueamento da madeira serrada produzida. / Forty-one open pollinated progenies of Eucalyptus grandis provenance Luís Antônio-SP (ex-Atherton, Australia) were evaluated in two field trials established in an experimental area belonging to the private company Votorantim Celulose e Papel, at Altinópolis-SP. One trial was composed by 20 progenies and the other by 21 progenies, both in a completely randomized blocks design. A total of 242 trees, 299 logs and 1,200 boards were evaluated. Three discs from each tree were provided, each one corresponding to a different position (bottom, middle and top), 2.60m apart, in order to determine the basic density and the moisture content. The logs were evaluated for volume without bark, eccentricity, bark content, end splits and sapwood/heartwood proportion. The primary and secondary mechanical processing of the logs were carried out in an industrial sawmill equipped with a twin band saw and a two shafts circular saw, respectively. The boards were evaluated in green condition for warping and in green/dried (12% of moisture) condition for end splits. Wood samples from the outer boards of the logs were used to determine their physical-mechanical properties, such as: specific gravity, parallel compression, shear strength and static bending. The experimental data were submitted to statistical-genetic analysis by using the SAS ® software and, to estimate the variance components, the Restricted Maximum Likelihood Variance Components Estimation (REML) method was used. Significant differences were detected for the traits basic density, log end splitting, sapwood/heartwood proportion, bowing, specific gravity, parallel compression and static bending, which showed promising for breeding purposes, with estimates of heritability coefficients of 0.34, 0.31, 0.39, 0.39, 0.61, 0.57 and 0.50, respectively. Genetic variation was not detected for the traits moisture content, board end splitting, volume of log without bark, log eccentricity, bark content, crooking and shear strength. Estimates of genetic correlations, ranging from intermediate to high, were also observed among physical-mechanical properties and between the traits basic density and log end splitting, basic density and bowing, specific gravity and bowing, sapwood/heartwood proportion and bowing, volume of log and bowing and volume of log and log end splitting. The expected response to selection among progenies, under a selection intensity of 20%, revealed the perspective of immediate gains for the traits volume of log (0.59%), basic density ( 2.15%), log end splitting ( 7.69%) and bowing ( 2.65%), considering that for the latter three traits the selection was oriented to reduction of the means. It was also observed that a selection index composed by these four traits could give similar responses to those predicted by selecting each one of the latter three individually. In relation to technological aspects, the following findings were observed: a) the pattern of variation along the first part of the bole was of a large initial decrease followed by a small increase for basic density, and a continuous decrease for moisture content; b) the traits bark content, sapwood/heartwood proportion, bowing, log end splitting and board end splitting were very influenced by the position of sampling on the tree; c) a similar performance among the first and second logs in relation to end board splitting and crooking.

La thèse présente l’analyse d’une séance de formation de "coaching" commercial mettant en scène un formateur d’entreprise et un apprenti, vendeur dans le milieu bancaire. L’objectif était d’étudier le rôle du pronom tu associé à des indices d’adresse d’autre nature dans les modulations du consensus coénonciatif entre le formateur et l’apprenti. Les résultats auxquels notre thèse aboutit : (1) Dans un dialogue, l’énonciateur-locuteur premier peut être soit en état de consensus, soit en état de rupture de la coénonciation vis à vis de l’énonciateur-locuteur second, soit encore en phase intermédiaire (orientée tantôt vers le consensus, tantôt vers la rupture). (2) Il existe des indices d’adresse gestuels, intonatifs et morphosyntaxiques qui permettent de différencier chacun de ces états. (3) L’emploi du pronom tu associé à d’autres indices d’adresse joue un rôle important dans les modulations du consensus entre le formateur et l’apprenti. Ce rôle est particulièrement visible lorsque l’un des énonciateurs-locuteurs (ou les deux) se positionne(nt) en phase intermédiaire. (4) L’énonciateur-locuteur premier passe nécessairement par une des deux phases intermédiaires et ce sont les réactions de l’énonciateur-locuteur second qui informent sur l’état de la coénonciation (consensus ou rupture) à ce moment précis du dialogue. Les régularités dégagées par cette recherche intéressent plusieurs domaines des sciences humaines, notamment la linguistique, les sciences de l’éducation, la communication et la formation en entreprise. / The thesis presents the analysis of a training session of commercial coaching featuring a coach, corporate trainer and a learner, sales in the banking. The objective was to study the role of "you" associated with other indicators of address in the modulations of consensus between the coach and the learner. The results that our thesis leads : (1) In a dialogue, the enunciator-first speaker may be either in a state of consensus, either in a state of coenunciation breaking-off respect to the enunciator- second speaker, or in an intermediate phase (sometimes oriented towards consensus sometimes to break). (2) There are indicators of address gestural, intonation and morphosyntactic that distinguish each of the state. (3) The use of the pronoun "you" associated with other indicators of address does play an important role in the modulation of consensus between the coach and the learner. This role is particularly visible when one of enunciators-speakers or both are in an intermediate phase. (4) The enunciator-first speaker necessarily involves one of two intermediate phases and there are the reactions of the enunciator-second speaker to indicate the status of coenunciation (consensus or failure) at that moment of dialogue. Patterns generated by this research interest to several fields of sciences, including linguistics, science education, communication and training.

Tonality and the Extended Common Practice in the Music of Thad JonesRogers, Michael A. 05 1900 (has links)
Tonality is a term often used to describe the music of the common practice period (roughly 1600-1900). This study examines the music of mid twentieth-century jazz composer Thad Jones in light of an extended common practice, explicating ways in which this music might be best understood as tonal. Drawing from analyses of three of Jones’s big band compositions: To You, Three and One, and Cherry Juice, this study examines three primary elements in detail. First is Jones’s use of chord-scale application techniques in the orchestration over various chordal qualities represented by the symbols, revealing traditional as well as innovative methods by Jones. Second is Jones’s use of harmonic progressions, demonstrating his connection to past practice as well as modern jazz variations. Third is Jones’s use of contrapuntal connections and their traditional relationship to functional tonality, but in a chromatic scale-based environment. Jones’s music is presented in this study to demonstrate a tonal jazz common practice that represents an amalgamation of traditions including twentieth-century scale-based procedures, Renaissance and early twentieth-century modality, eighteenth- and nineteenth-century voice leading schemas, and Baroque and Classical descending-fifth progressions. Also included as an appendix is a list of possible note errors in the published scores of To You, Three and One, and Cherry Juice.

On the Optimal Linkage of Social Security Benefits to Payroll TaxesGahvari, Firouz, Beach, Randy 01 March 2016 (has links)
This paper employs a three period overlapping generations' model to investigate (i) the labor supply effects of the linkage between the benefits of a pay-as-you-go social security program and the payroll taxes that finance them and (ii) the nature of the optimal linkage. The main result of the paper is that, for a given statuary tax rate, the weights that must be placed on earnings of different periods (in benefit calculation) depend on population and productivity growth rates only. This result implies that the optimal net tax rates are not uniform over the life cycle unless the economy is on its steady state golden rule path. Moreover, if the economy is on the golden rule path, the optimal net tax rates are not only uniform but also zero. The paper also demonstrates that, if preferences are additively separable, as more weight is placed on earnings when young labor supply by the young increases while labor supply by the middle-aged decreases.

Gender performativity, detailed by Judith Butler and accepted by most contemporary queer theorists, rests on an agentive model of gender wherein “genders are appropriated, theatricalized, worn, and done” (“Imitation and Gender Insubordination” 716). This academic orthodoxy is challenged, however, by the increasing presence of transgender persons joining the theoretical discourse, many of whom experience an essential gender as a central facet of their identity. I respond to Katie R. Horowitz’s recent modification of Butler’s theories—a theory of omniperformance to dissolve the distinction between performance and performativity, and thereby between artifice and “real life.” I argue that gender-as-art, a schema that acknowledges both the intention and the intuition of gender, is a more fruitful foundation than omniperformance. I use, as my model, Elisabeth Bergner’s performance as Rosalind in Paul Czinner’s 1936 As You Like It and Bryce Dallas Howard’s 2007 Rosalind in Kenneth Branagh’s film adaptation of the same play. In Bergner and Howard’s androgynous gender performances, I argue, a body—a transgender body, an androgynous body, a genderqueer body, a cisgender body—represents an aesthetic ideal, the product of the human drive to create, to beget, to beautify.

Implementation of UsageBased Insurance solutions : A qualitative analysis of a technology-based insurance model from the perspective of the Swedish insurance industry / Implementering av användarbaserade försäkringslösningar : En kvalitativ analys av en teknikbaserad försäkringsmodell från den svenska försäkringsbranschens perspektivYvell, Malin, Axelsson, Elin January 2019 (has links)
Recent years’ digital transformation has led to an increased interest in using and utilising smart technology in various insurance solutions, something that has come to challenge the traditional insurance model. The UsageBased Insurance model (UBI) is an example of an insurance model that utilises these technological innovations. With the aid of smart technology, the insurance model has the possibility, by using real-time data, to price premiums more accurately and efficiently, as well as it enables a more proactive approach. Despite the model’s positive capabilities, the degree of implementation in Europe, as well as in Sweden, can generally be regarded as low. Thus, the interest is raised about what influences this low level of implementation, as well as what challenges, requirements and consequences that are attached to such implementation. By investigating the UBI model, the purpose of this study is thus to analyse how new technology-based insurance models could affect the Swedish insurance industry and, in an extension, also the Swedish society. The study also intends to evaluate how these technology-based insurance policies could affect the insurability of risk, this by applying Berliner’s (1982) insurability criteria. With the help of a comprehensive literature study in parallel with a qualitative, semi-structured, interview study, the report aims to provide a broader understanding of what bridging contradictions that exist between theory and practice. The biggest challenges identified, related to a UBI implementation, are the customers’ willingness to share personal data, the insurance company’s propensity for transformation, their digital ability and the Swedish welfare system. Further, it has been concluded that the model’s increased ability to assess risk could consequently mean that an implementation would contribute to discrimination and cherry-picking, also known as cream skimming. To overcome these challenges and risks, and to stimulate a high implementation level, the required factors identified are that the UBI solution needs to stimulate other incentives than the monetary, that it should be simple and designed in a way that makes it feel personalised and an integrated part of the policyholders’ lives. If the primary purpose of utilising the UBI model is to decide the most profitable premium cost, the authors assess that the impediments are too high, the incentives too low and negative consequences too severe to reach a high degree of implementation on the Swedish market. The insurance companies instead have a great opportunity, as a proactive risk manager, to take a whole new position in the policyholders’ lives. Through proactive services, which are not premium-based, insurance companies would instead stimulate a behavioural change by advising, encouraging and in different ways rewarding a behavioural change towards a healthier and safer lifestyle. A development that all actors benefit from, without suffering the risk of punishing and/or discriminating policyholders. From the perspective of lacking social resources, this is also an opportunity to create a more proactive health care in Sweden. / Senaste tidens digitala transformation har medfört ett ökat intresse av att använda och utnyttja smart teknologi inom olika försäkringslösningar, något som har kommit att utmana den traditionella försäkringsmodellen. Ett exempel på en försäkringsmodell som utnyttjar dessa tekniska innovationer är den användarbaserade försäkringsmodellen (UBI). Tack vare smart teknologi har försäkringsmodellen möjlighet att, genom utnyttjandet av realtidsdata, kunna prissätta premier på ett mer korrekt och effektivt sätt, samtidigt som dessa teknologier möjliggör ett mer proaktivt arbetssätt. Trots dessa positiva egenskaper kan implementeringsgraden i Europa, och så även i Sverige, dock generellt sett betraktas som låg. Således väcks intresset kring vad som påverkar denna låga implementeringsgrad samt vilka utmaningar, krav och konsekvenser som finns kopplade till en sådan implementering. Med hjälp av att undersöka UBI modellen är syftet med denna studie att analysera hur teknikbaserade försäkringsmodeller kan påverka den svenska försäkringsmarknaden och, i en förlängning, även den det svenska samhället. Vidare, ämnar studien även till att undersöka på vilket sätt dessa teknikbaserade försäkringslösningar påverkar försäkringsbarheten, detta genom att tillämpa Berliner’s (1982) insurability criteria. Med hjälp av en grundlig litteraturstudie parallellt med en kvalitativ, semistrukturerad, intervjustudie avser rapporten att bidra till en bredare förståelse för vilka överbryggande motsättningar det finns mellan teori och praktik. De största utmaningarna som studien påvisar är kundernas villighet till att delge persondata, försäkringsbolagets benägenhet till transformation, deras digitala förmåga samt det svenska välfärdssystemet. På grund av den förbättrade riskbedömning, som modellen medför, har cream skimming och diskriminering konstaterats vara två stora konsekvenser som modellen riskerar medföra. Där cream skimming åsyftar försäkringsgivarens ökade förmåga till att identifiera försäkringens mest lönsamma kunder. För att möta dessa utmaningar och konsekvenser, samt att stimulera en hög implementeringsgrad, anses det viktigt att kunna stimulera andra incitament, än de monetära. Det anses även viktigt att lösningen är enkel, personifierad samt att den besitter förmågan att bli en integrerad del av försäkringstagarens liv. Om det primära syftet med att tillämpa UBI modellen är att bestämma den mest lönsamma premiekostnaden, anser författarna att hindren är för många, incitamenten för få och de negativa konsekvenserna för omfattande för att kunna uppnå en hög implementeringsgrad på den svenska marknaden. Försäkringsbolagen besitter istället en stor möjlighet att, som en proaktiv riskrådgivare, ta en helt ny position i försäkringstagarnas liv. Genom proaktiva tjänster, som inte utnyttjar de premiegrundande egenskaperna, har försäkringsbolagen istället möjlighet att stimulera en beteendeförändring genom att rådge, uppmuntra och på olika sätt belöna en positiv beteendeförändring mot ett mer hälsosamt och säkert liv. Detta skulle således vara en gynnsam utveckling som alla aktörer tjänar på, utan risken att straffa och/eller diskriminera försäkringstagare. Ur ett perspektiv av bristande samhällsresurser, skapar detta även ökade möjligheter för utvecklandet av en mer proaktivt fungerande sjukvård i Sverige.
