Miriam Aby Cohen 07 August 2015 (has links)
Brings up the performance designer\'s attitude, as an independent artist able to develop and materialize own narratives. An artist who moves through various languages areas, whose production places the design for Performance as the protagonist in the context of visual arts, performing arts and exhibition design. This research project aims to Identify and analyze the intersections, the practice In-between of distinct languages, in which the designer expresses artistically through the theatre design, art installation and exhibition design. Adopts the term \'performance design\' to redefining and to refer to the practice in different areas and the intersections, assigning forward the concept of \'performance design as experience\' to address the relationship and impact between performance design and the human being. Highlights the author\'s production of this thesis, her \'performance designs\' as objects of analysis, developed during the current period of this research project - from 2011 to 2015; complementing, punctually, with relevant productions from other authors, which collaborate for analysis of the topic. Recent curatorial projects that demonstrate relevance and influence on contemporary artistic practices in the field of performance design are also analysed, emphasising those approaching the theatricality of the practice of Performance within the gallery and the Museum, establishing distinct possibilities of perception and interactivity. Through the approach of the today curator\'s role, discusses his influence on the validation of artistic processes, therefore, the recognition of the work by performance designers as \'art\'. This thesis seeks to support thinking on how to bearing creative processes lined up with the aesthetic demands, language and tools of artistic production of the performance designers today. Especially on how to motivate the artist to trigger inspiring processes that can combat stagnation and repetition, transforming their practices and provoking a continuous development; also possibly pointing to relevant aspects of their training.

Visitas Teatralizadas em museus: novos meandros para a comunicação museológica / Visits Guided Visits with Theater in museums: new meanders for museological communication

Gustavo Nascimento Paes 23 August 2016 (has links)
This paper presents a discussion on museological communication and how the institutions work the relationship among museum, public and exhibition. It is consider that communication is only established effectively when its form and its content mediates simultaneously emotion and information. Thus, the inclusion of \"guided visits with theater\" in museological institutions can provide knowledge not only for the information itself, but knowledge which, according to Scheiner (2003), part of the information transformed by the emotion and can then be experienced. Similarly, the museum must dominate other forms of language, other communication systems that are not usual. The dissertation studies and promotes the understanding of new ways to establish a dialogue, in this case via \"guided visits with theater\".

Design e exposição: das vitrines para as novas telas / Design and Exhibition: from the displays to the screens

Heloisa Dallari 16 April 2008 (has links)
This works discusses the changes of the concept of the design and about the ways it is displayed. The investigation begins on the second half of the 19th century highlighting the relations between the institutionalization of the industrial object and the architecture showed at the London Universal Exhibition in 1851. 檔案線上展覽網站設計及內容分析研究 / The study on online archival exhibition design and content analysis

Yu, Hui-Yen Unknown Date (has links)
Nowadays, with technology advancing greatly, museums have developed “online exhibition,” which breaks through its former limitation of traditional forms of display and have the intention of providing audience with multiple touring services. Online exhibition combines several technological entertainments and effects together and communicates by the means of the Internet so as to make audience view the exhibitions easily without going outside. This convenience also can be seen in archives. With the presentation of the online exhibition, the viewers no longer have to get to the museum in person for any themed exhibition, which spare them their road trip and time and even promote the archive’s popularity. Online exhibition provides exhibitions beyond the space and time limitation, thus acquainting citizens with knowledge and history through online reaction as well as understating the past, the present and the future. The research aims to propose suggestions for future domestic archival online exhibitions after comparing functions among domestic and foreign websites of archival online exhibition. Based on content analysis approach, this study sets assessing indicators to analyze aforementioned websites. The result suggests that foreign websites of archival online exhibitions is higher in average scores than domestic ones. However, not all of the indicators of foreign websites are higher than those of domestic ones—the indicators of “the news offering and update,” “the offering of relative links,” and “services of interactive games and activities.” In addition, some functions of foreign archival online exhibitions are outstanding enough for us to learn from. First of all, the foreign archival online website is structured within its parent institution. Secondly, Blogging function or social media platforms are established so that more relative information and teaching materials can be provided on foreign websites. Third, there are goods of cultural and creative industry sold in certain stores. Finally, the foreign archival online exhibitions also construct their website on Google Arts & Culture. This research proposes five suggestions to domestic archival online exhibitions for future improvement. First and foremost, they could provide the news update service. Secondly, they could construct sound and comprehensive assisting touring services. Thirdly, they could enrich the content information of their exhibitions. Next, they could improve the interactive aspect of their online exhibitions. Lastly, they could further promote their online exhibition by means of their existing users.

The role of exhibitions in the valorization of the photography as artistic expression, in France from 1970 till 2005

Martinez, Léo 27 September 2011 (has links)
In France, since the seventies, the photography is the focus of much attentions. The appear exhibitions to enhance the medium and to legitimize it as artistic expression. Before being recognized by the museum institutions and being the object of a real politics on the part of State service, the distribution and the valuation of the photography returns to the photographers who create many places dedicated to the exhibition of the medium. In the eighties, the progressive empowerment of the field of the photography comes along with the appearance of a history and a critical discourse. At the beginning of the nineties appear the first exhibitions which present a photography similar to the contemporary artistic practices. The success of this production will become a reality in the next decade and will participate not only in the legitimization of the photography but also in the second reading of the art history. The exhibition is approached here as interface between four main actors of the world of the art: artists, makers, mediators and the public. It is also received as a “dispositif” in that it conveys discourses to establish artistic standards and to be a recognized as an authority. The study of more than thirty years of exhibitions allows us to follow the evolution of the discourses which accompanied the medium during its empowerment, but also to perceive the pathways of a cultural object in these various processes of legitimization.

Le design comme dispositif communicationnel entre l’art et l’industrie / Design as a communication device between art and industry

Fichaux, Etienne 11 January 2012 (has links)
The aim of this research was to build in theory a concept of design as a communication device, first between two groups or moral persons : art and industry. The first part seeks for a definition of “art”, “industry”, “design” ; the emergence and evolution of these notions. A second part is aimed at building a concept of design that would distinguish itself from the usual definition of design understood only in its industrial extent, which is a phenomenon limited to the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The third part is an attempt to link this phenomenon with that of the emergence of a mediatic worldwide scene and universal exibition in order to produce modernism as a religion for the industrial era. This theoretical work also offers to measure how art is being modified by and through this industrial system, and on the other hand how some artists make the dream of a greater aesthetical attention progress in this system

Analyses à partir du cas de Saint-Pétersbourg [1995-2005] / The Russian State Policy in the Film Exhibition Field [1995-2005]

Karadzha, Ksenia 21 December 2009 (has links)
What is the solution of the problems with the price accessibility and repertoire policy for the modern cinemas ? What are the determinants of cinemas attendance and how to increase the target audience of cinemas ? What is the suitable form for the "system of alternative film exhibition" ? These were the questions to answer with the recent thesis. The purpose of the research is consisted in the determination and elaboration of theoretical and methodological bases for increasing the efficiency of Russian film exhibition management using the accumulated Russian and French experience of maintaining the national identity of cinematograph culture in the conditions of cultural globalization. As a result of the conducted research the international structure of film exhibition was elaborated and presented widely in the organizational, economical and marketing aspects with the aim of increase the efficiency of the solution of economical and socio-cultural problems. The results of this scientific work can be used while defining the state policy in the film exhibition field on the federal, regional and local levels ; in the process of reforming and increasing the efficiency of film exhibition management ; during the practice of foundation the perspective directions of marketing activities in the film exhibition field.

The imagination station : a centre to inspire & promote creativity in Newtown, Johannesburg, South Africa

Fleming, Bronwyn Wendy 12 1900 (has links)
As with the majority of Johannesburg areas, the Newtown Electric Power Station Heritage Precinct does not fully realise its potential for spatial relations facilitating creative means of living. Creativity is a powerful tool to engage present and future possibilities. A Centre to stimulate creativity will benefit the direct area users, as well as contribute to the prominence of the historical and cultural richness of Newtown. The vacant site adjacent to the Sci-Bono Discovery Centre provides an apt location for the Creativity Centre as the intervening programme will activate, strengthen and define the presently underutilised street corner edges. The proposed architectural spaces aim to direct the site’s current movement routes created by pedestrian commuters, in order for creativity to become more ingrained in daily life. The proposed architectural elements aim to facilitate creative activities - both curatorial and organically inspired through community appropriation of specifically designed open, or adaptable, spaces. The Centre aims to become a creative community gathering hub: becoming integral to the existing creative individuals currently pursuing artistic practices in Newtown. Gesamtkunstwerk theoretically guides the project: in terms of the architectural intervention being comprised of singular elements all contributing to a greater whole. Gesamtkunstwerk also programmatically unites the entire Electric Power Station city block, through promoting the unification of art forms with life, as a holistic, creative entity. The Centre acts as a crucial beacon highlighting the importance of creativity in the contemporary South African situation where it is undervalued and underutilised. It also articulates that as a directorial element of societal authorisations and processes, architectural design should articulate the value of creativity through facilitating and inspiring creative modes of living. / Dissertation MArch(Prof)--University of Pretoria, 2014. / Architecture / MArch(Prof) / Unrestricted

Esthétique de la vitrine. / Aesthetics of the showcase

Le Corre Latuille, Sandrine 24 November 2016 (has links)
At the intersection of design and museography, the showcase is an hybrid study, rarely raised in terms of aesthetic appeal, hence this thesis is titled Aesthetics of the showcase. The showcase is usually designed as a decor, a display and a case. Such a perspective, minimizing the active role of the showcase in the economy of the demonstration, gives rise to an aesthetism of the showcase, which the present thesis wants to get rid. Why ? Because the transparency of the showcase is a myth. Although it is physically, the showcase is something that interfering between the Watcher and the watched object. It participates actively into the relationship that is established, or rather that it establishes between one and the other. The problematic orientation of this study is to inquire this interfere role, its nature, its mechanism and the possibility of an aesthetic. How ? Through questioning of the art-works. My doctoral thesis, mainly, focuses on installations and works performance - Wall, Hirschhorn, Koh, Mayaux, Dion, Gette will be particularly studied - who both of them, appropriates a showcase either commercial kind or Museum kind, to make them an integral part of their device. What conclusions ? The interference of the showcase, through its artistic appropriation, appears at three levels. It is a space for exhibitions (1st time), a framework of perceptions (2nd time) and a viewing of representations (3rd time) interfering in the triple set of exposure, perception and representation that it implements.
