Plain Capital - Where the magic happens : En fallstudie om organisationsidentifikation

Joelsson, Elin, Palm, Linnéa, Petersson, Viktoria January 2015 (has links)
Purpose: The aim of this thesis is to create a greater understanding of organizational identification and the factors influencing this process. The understanding will be obtained by identifying what individuals identify them selves with and why this identification occurs. Method: The thesis is a case study with an abductive research approach with a focus on organizational identification. Data has been collected with a qualitative focus in interviews and images. Conclusion: The employees at Plain Capital primarily identify themselves with their profession, the company and their co-workers. The reasons why they identify are mostly because of the feeling of pride and participation. We have discovered a link between a strong group identity and a high organizational identification. We have also drawn attention to that high identification with the profession contributes to a lower identification with the organization.

”SAMHÄLLET GÖR MIG HANDIKAPPAD” : En studie om unga fysiskt funktionshindrade kvinnors upplevelser av förtryck / "Society makes me disabled"

Valfridsson, Signe January 2018 (has links)

Lidholm, Per January 2012 (has links)

Machuca Möller, Catalina, Svensson, Jens January 2012 (has links)

Jill, Clavell January 2023 (has links)
A well-functioning collaboration can be of decisive importance for the management of a crisis. Although it is a common endeavour, there may be obstacles that give rise to conflicts (Bondesson et al., 2019; Bynander & Nohrstedt, 2019; Deverell et al., 2019a; Hedlund & Lönngren, 2021; Svedin, 2009; Ödlund, 2010). In these contexts, competition is mentioned as an obstacle and something that happens in the periphery (Deverell et al., 2019b; Palm & Ramsell, 2007; Ödlund, 2010). The research provides a limited description of competition and its conditions within inter-organizational cooperation. Based on a social psychological perspective, 10 semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted. The result shows that competition was first considered non-existent and later as hidden and hindering. Competition was managed through group identification as well as factors such as trust, adaptation and co-leadership. The conclusion is that the competition in a collaboration can be described. Finding a balance between competition as an obstacle and cooperation was important for the actors. The experience shows the complexity that can exist regarding competition linked to crisis management. This study shows that there is an ambition on the part of the actors to achieve a good collaboration, where efficiency and good preparation for crisis management become increasingly important elements. However, the results showed that there was competition which took the form of internal interests and mistrust. Competition, as an opportunity, was considered by the actors to have less importance for cooperation

Nilsson, Lotta January 2014 (has links)
Titel: To stand in the hallway and wishing to join in: Unaccompanied minor refugees and their needs. A qualitative study about the needs among these children and youths. Author: Lotta Nilsson   The purpose of this study has been to investigate what needs unaccompanied minor refugees have, both as newly arrived and after leaving a HVB-home. The purpose has also been to compare their needs with the perceived needs that form the basis for the reception process in Sweden. The study is qualitative with semi-structured interviews with five young men from Afghanistan, Somalia and Russia, as well as with an integration officer at the county administration and teachers working with the integration program. The results show that the needs vary between the informants, but that the needs for belonging and longing for the homeland are needs that they all have in common. What also becomes apparent is how different needs affect the individual choices and the ability to concentrate and focus. The reception of newly arrived on the other hand has been formed after a Swedish model where education and language are seen as preconditions for successful integration and belonging. This connection is not entirely correct. The theories used in this thesis are, among others, Maslow’s ”A theory of human motivation” and van Gennep’s ”rites of passage”.

Under press : En studie om A-traktorförares gruppidentitet, omgivningen och medias påverkan / Under pressure : A study in tractor class A-drivers’ group identity, the environment and the influence of the media

Markrud, Petra, Naif, Abdallah January 2023 (has links)
The aim of this study is to illuminate the experiences of tractor class A-drivers, being part of a group stigmatized by society - socially constructing and reproducing their group identity in a situation where they are questioned in the media as well as by their surrounding social context. We have applied social identity construction, group- and social norms, and other established relevant theories and concepts to interpret our results. We adopted a qualitative approach, by conducting a semi-structured interview methodology in the form of two focus group interviews and three single interviews, with a total of ten respondents. The result showed that the tractor class A-drivers feel a belonging to the group through social expansion, freedom and spontaneity, though the extent to which they identify with the group varies due to a number of underlying causes. We also found evidence that the group members felt exposed to generalization and stereotyping as a result of how tractor class A-drivers were depicted in news media and social media. This phenomenon showed to be closely linked to the reaction from the environment, creating an experience of labeling and, to some extent, deviance. The findings of this study illuminates the importance of social context and normative behavior to understand the experiences of tractor class A-drivers in a stigmatized group.

“The white snuff and the marketing intoxication” : A qualitative study on the marketing of white tobacco-free snuff on young people.

Sandberg, Fanny, Ålstam, Lisa January 2022 (has links)
Between 2018 and 2021, the amount of young snuff users increased drastically. The same year, 2018, Velo, a tobacco free nicotine snuff, was launched on the Swedish market. They made themselves known through organizing big events and by engaging in influencer marketing. Due to Velos product being tobacco-free, the company is not covered by the Swedish Tobacco Act. As a result of this, they are able to engage in different marketing strategies than its peers that sell snuff containing tobacco. This new possibility of marketing is unique and gives the company a competitive edge and broadens its marketing possibilities. A loophole in the legislation enables new and effective communication strategies for the addictive "All White" snuff. Through this, Velo can market its products on social media and use influencers to entice their followers to start consuming the highly addictive product The purpose of this study was to investigate which visual resources Velo chooses to present and which group belonging this creates. Since images carries signs, this makes the images a central part of the exchange of meaning between sender (Velo) and receiver (young target group). It is therefore essential to look more deeply at how visual resources are used to possibly attract a young target group. The essay aims to answer the two research questions: "What visual resources are used in Velo's Instagram feed to attract and influence a young target group?" and "How does Velo use visual resources to create a sense of group identity for its target audience?" The theoretical frameworks on which the thesis was based were primarily semiotics and social semiotics. Additionally, the semiotic concepts denotation and connotation were used to identify the underlying meaning of the signs in Velos images. To be able to answer the research questions, theories such as Goffman's self representation theory and Bourdieu's take on social fields and capital were used. Previous studies regarding the identity shaping of young adults and teenagers, communities and its creation of groups belonging online as well as influencers persuasion on social media was applied. By using denotation, connotation, theoretical frameworks and previous research we were able to unravel repeated patterns, similarities and themes in Velos images. The study was conducted using a qualitative semiotic content analysis where 143 photos from Velo's Instagram account were selected between a certain time frame. The material was demarcated and resulted in 41 images. From the remaining pictures, three themes were found which were "Accessory", "Image of person" and "Social context". Then nine posts from each 4theme were randomized, which resulted in a total of nine images that became our final analysis objects. After analyzing the nine analysis objects based on denotation and connotation, the theoretical frameworks were applied to the analysis. The result showed that the analysis object contained various symbols for a certain social and cultural capital that could be interpreted as a desirable habitus for the target group. The capital that Velo presented could be seen as common interests and a contributing factor to create a sense of group belonging. The interests could be seen as requirements for identifying with the group affiliation. Group belonging is important for the formation of identity of young people. Influencers as opinion leaders with characteristics as reliable and authentic contributed to a natural recommendation of the brand. Influencer's associations were naturally transferred to Velo. In summary Velo uses signs to build an attractive lifestyle which it invites people to be a part of. The result concluded that visual resources such as influencers, signs of social context, high cultural and social capital and the transfer of positive associations were contributing factors to an attractive group identity to target a young audience.
