Asplund, Sarah, Andersson, Linnéa January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of our study was to identify existing discourses of violence in close relationships based on investigators' reasoning within the police in order to visualize its consequences in the next step. The method chosen was of a qualitative nature, interviews were held with three investigators from a medium-sized city in Sweden. The material was then processed using a discourse analysis inspired by Foucault, as well as previous research on the subject. Three discourses were identified which were the discourse of gender, the normalization process and the attitude to theoretical knowledge. The result of the study shows that the investigators' attitude towards theoretical knowledge is something that affects their work in different ways, which may adventure the fact that investigators' work is based on unreliable knowledge.

Kvinnan i brottsmål gällande grov kvinnofridskränkning : En normkritisk studie om hur kvinnan i brottsmål gällande grov kvinnofridskränkning framställs och bedöms i tingsrättsdomar / Woman in criminal cases in violation of a woman's integrity

Venturi, Almina, Niklasson, Emelie January 2018 (has links)
The construction of the woman exposed to violence and how she is produced in the Swedish judiciary is important to understand the view of men's violence against the woman. How the woman exposed to violence in today's context are produced by the judiciary in relation to political and media discussions are also affecting social work and its practice. The aim of the study is to, with a norm critical perspective, highlight how women represented and assessed in Swedish district court judgments. We want to investigate how the woman exposed to violence in close relationships is produced and judged in Swedish courts. The study is based on a qualitative research effort and a discourse analysis has been made of 12 district court judgments from different district courts in Sweden. Through a thematic analysis, three themes became clear: “the district court's perception of the credibility of women”, “the course of events based on women's perspectives” and “the district court's considerations in assessing the crime breach, coarse women's violence”. The chosen theoretical approach that has been used to create an understanding of our research problem is norm critical perspective and the concept of ideal crime victim. The results gave us the conclusion that in Swedish district courts there are norms about how women exposed to violence should behave.

The importance of a support that is helpful and not harmful : A narrative study regarding the importance of support to women subjected to domestic violence

Kapla, Malin, Öberg, Elinore January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to, by qualitative interviews, examine how women subjected to domestic violence experienced the support they were given when they reached for help. This was examined through a narrative view, with the “process of normalisation of violence” as a theoretical perspective. The results of the study showed that the majority of the interviewed women were unsatisfied with the support they received. This emerged through their expressions of how they perceived a response characterised by mistrust and misunderstanding regarding the complexity of domestic violence. Regardless of how the interviewed women perceived the help, they all expressed the importance of support to endure the different processes that a break up could entail and to be able to move on by finding their identity again. The study found that there is a need to visualise the extent of domestic violence and broaden knowledge about its complexity, as it could contribute to better support for women subjected to domestic violence.

Kvinnor utsatta för våld i nära relation : -Bemötande i det korta mötet / Female victims of intimate partner violence : The brief encounter

Hellgren, Madelene, Karlsson, Anki January 2017 (has links)
Introduction: Every year between 12,000 and 14,000 women visit health care in relation to intimate partner violence. The radiology nurse ought to work with person centered care in accordance with their competence description and implement new knowledge to develop. Based on this, it was considered important to describe knowledge of encounter with the women. Purpose: The purpose was to describe what to consider when health personnel encounter women exposed to intimate partner violence in the radiology department and how this can be applied in the short meeting. What knowledge is described concerning encounter with the women? Method: The study was conducted as a literature review consisting of 12 scientific articles that were quality reviewed, analyzed and presented. Results: Six categories described the encounter and how the treatment of women was experienced. Encounter, knowledge, attitudes, support, obstacles, and professional conduct. The results revealed major shortcomings in the treatment of these women, when seeking help they were blamed, given a feeling of guilt and shame. The women were also afraid to be valued by the staff and protected themselves by concealing the violence. Knowledge was required by both groups. There were attitudes among healthcare professionals who blamed the women. The women demanded support and the staff wanted routines to support a good encounter. Obstacles to be treated can be issues such as difficulties in seeking care or because of the husband, who speaks for the woman. Professional approaches appeared to be difficult, among other things, since the emotions were difficult to handle in the encounter with the women. Conclusion: It is important for the radiology departments to develop guidelines and procedures to achieve a good encounter. Knowledge and discussions should be prioritized to reduce negative attitudes and inspire improvement work, that can develop the radiology nurse's profession.

Amnestad, Nancy, Stenroos, Eveliina January 2017 (has links)
The aim of the study was to seek further understanding of what school staff, social services and staff at the shelters consider to be the difficulties in the work of children's schooling when staying at shelters for abused women. The method used was qualitative semi structured interviews and the empirics consist of six interviews, two from each profession. Despite a comprehensive searching strategy, only a few studies were found that had examined the subject and those studies described the problem briefly. This indicates that the subject has been little researched and that children's schooling in shelters for abused women is a subject we have little knowledge about. The results show that there usually are no systematic routines for dealing with the issue among professionals involved. It is difficult to get a new school place for children staying in shelters for abused women. Professions involved with these children in society need more knowledge in the subject to develop a systematic approach. In future, more research on the subject and its consequences for children in shelters for abused women is needed.

A qualitative study about police approach to family violence and to the way the type of crime is handled

Kjellver, Sofie, Tryde, Hanna January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to examine police perceptions of approaches to family violence and how the type of crime is handled among the police. The study conducted semi-structured interviews with six police officers who in their work encountered and managed the type of crime. The main outcome of the study was that perceptions about the importance of the police focusing on family violence but also opposite perceptions about existing negative attitudes towards the type of crime among police officers. The negative attitudes were explained to depend on that family violence was considered difficult to deal with, less exciting or less “cool” compared with other types of crimes, and that it seemed to be an insufficient understanding for the victim. The majority of the respondents’ perceptions were that policemen seemed more willing to use experience and routines while dealing with family violence than to use some kind of method support. Simultaneously, many perceived that that the attitude of police officers may affect how they handle the crime.

Eren, Nur, Ström, Lisa January 2020 (has links)
The aim of the essay has been to investigate how therapists explain the causes for the occurrence of men's violence against women in intimate relations, and the opportunities and difficulties they experience during the treatment of these men. The study is based on qualitative interviews with four therapists who work with violent men. We analyzed the interviews with the help of thematic analysis which resulted in the sub-themes masculinity norms, violent experiences and powerlessness, which further created the main theme: causes of the violence. The sub-themes alliance building, motivated client, responsibility insight and gender norms in treatment created the main theme: opportunity for change. The sub-themes addiction, lack of mentalizing ability and shaming created the main theme: difficulties in treatment. The results indicate that the therapist agrees that there is no simple explanation for the occurrence of violence by men against women in intimate relations and neither a way of working against it. The results also indicate that the explanation for the occurrence of violence differs between therapists and they have some different opinions about how one should work to fight men's violence against women.

The studies were analyzed according to Friberg's method. Scientific articles were retrieved from two database Cinahl Complete and Pubmed.  Conclusion: The results of this literature review have been themed on the basis of four themes; (1) exposure to violence eats away at the nurse's strengths, (2) finding the balance between personal values and the nurse's professional role, (3) feeling understanding and hesitation in meeting women who have been subjected to violence & (4) lack of support and room for maneuver in the organization  Results: nurses described that it was difficult to meet abused women. Nurses described that it was not obvious how they would act in that situation. Hur smittspridningen av Covid-19 påverkar arbetet med kvinnor som utsätts för våld i nära relationer / How the transmission of Covid-19 is affecting the service for victims of domestic violence

Molnegren Bertmyr, Sandra, Arneson, Malin January 2020 (has links)
The transmission of Covid-19 has put Sweden in a new situation with unique challenges for the society and its population. Based on the restrictions and exhortation to stay at home during transmission of Covid-19, concern has been increased about the pandemics potential impact on domestic violence. Newspapers all around the world post warning signs for increased phone calls to social services and hotlines from women who are exposed to domestic violence. Focusing on the Swedish context, this thesis has inquired workers at social services and women's shelters who in particular support and help women, who are victims of domestic violence. The data collection has been focused on how they work with the women during the transmission of Covid-19 to get an understanding of how this might affect their day to day work. The data have been collected through semi-structured interviews and have been analysed through qualitative content analysis. The data has shown that the work has been affected in several ways: with social distance, physical distance in treatment, decreased preventive work, difficulties to reach the women who are controlled by their perpetrators, and the general work in the field with cooperation with other agencies.
