Etiquetado léxico y análisis sintáctico superficial basado en modelos estadísticos

Pla Santamaría, Ferran 23 June 2009 (has links)

Zarrouk, Manel 03 November 2015 (has links)
Developing lexico-semantic resources is a major issue in the Natural Language Processing field. These resources, by making explicit inter alia some knowledge possessed only by humans, aim at providing the ability of a precise and complete text understanding to NLP tasks. Popular resources-building strategies involving crowdsourcing are flowering in NLP and are proved to be successful. However, the resulted resources are not free of errors and lack some important semantic relations. In this PhD thesis, we used the french lexico-semantic network from the project JeuxDeMots as a case-study. We designed an endogenous consolidation system for this type of networks based on inferring and annotating new semantic relations using the already existing ones, as well as extracting and proposing inference rules able to (re)generate a considerable part of the network. In addition, we conceived a domain specific language for manipulating the consolidation system along with the network itself and a prototype was implemented.

[en] WORD FORMATION IN PORTUGUESE: A STUDY OF LEXICAL BLENDS IN MIA COUTO / [pt] A FORMAÇÃO DE PALAVRAS NA LÍNGUA PORTUGUESA: UM ESTUDO DA FUSÃO VOCABULAR NA OBRA DE MIA COUTO

JOSE JOAO DE CARVALHO 13 April 2009 (has links)
[en] This work investigates the process underlying lexical blend formation. At first, we examine the concept of word in some linguistic models in order to find a definition which would accommodate compounding. Next, we present an overview of morphological and lexical compounding in Portuguese, including both traditional descriptions and those related to more recent linguistic theories. Then, the notion of lexical blend is introduced, according to the definitions presented by specialists in Portuguese Word Formation, and the traditional notion of lexical blend is confronted with the concept of lexical fusion. We then proceed to the analysis of a corpus of 106 occurrences of lexical innovation, selected from the work of the writer Mia Couto. The results of the analysis support the adoption of the concept of lexical fusion for all superposed constructions which are traditionnaly viewed as standard lexical blend cases. Our results also reveal the significant productivity of lexical fusion as a wordformation process in Portuguese, both in speech, where it had already been attested, and in written literary language. The analysis shows the adequacy of the concept of lexical fusion, defined as a systematic process of expressive predication of a word by another word whose phonological properties permit the felicitous operation of the process.

[en] THE LEXICAL ITEM FAMILY FOUND IN PL2E TEXTBOOKS / [pt] O LÉXICO DE FAMÍLIA PRESENTE EM MANUAIS DE PL2E: A FAMÍLIA QUE NÃO É

LUIZ HERCULANO DE SOUSA GUILHERME 06 November 2012 (has links)
[en] This study is based on theories derived from Social Anthropology and the concepts of both House and Street, studied by Roberto DaMatta, as well as of Interculturalism, aiming at analyzing the use of the lexical item family found in PL2E textbooks. It is known that Brazilians value their family environment and their home, which are characteristics of the concept of concept of House and the relationships established there. In contrast to this, the notion of Street can be studied, acting as an external environment where social relationships are conducted in an indirect and objective way. Having taken all the aforementioned ideas into consideration, it can be inferred that the analysis of two textbooks for teaching Portuguese to speakers of other languages provided a sample of what is presented to students based on these manuals. It can be observed that absence of the explanations, analyses and discussion of those terms led to a considerable gap in the teaching and learning of PL2E found in textbooks.

[en] SYSTEMATIC POLYSEMY IN NOMINALIZED FORMS: THE PROPORTION OF USE OF VERB AND NOUN MEANINGS IN JOURNALISTIC TEXTS / [pt] POLISSEMIA SISTEMÁTICA EM FORMAS NOMINALIZADAS: A PROPORÇÃO DE USO DE SIGNIFICADOS VERBAIS E NOMINAIS EM TEXTOS JORNALÍSTICOS

FERNANDA MOURAO TAVARES 24 October 2012 (has links)
[en] This paper analyzes nominalizations in what concerns their polysemic and/or multifunctional value is Brazilian Portuguese. It assumes that nominaliza-tion is a paradigmatic association between nouns and verbs, and that deverbal nouns can have either a verbal or a nominal interpretation, depending on the con-text of occurrence. Under this assumption, the work analyzes occurrences of de-verbal nouns with the purpose of determining whether there is a prevalence of the predicative (verbal) function over the denotative (nominal) function. The results of the analysis, based upon a corpus of contemporary journalistic written lan-guage, show that the use of deverbal nouns in predicative function is more fre-quent than that of deverbal nouns in denotative function. These results corroborate the expectation that journalistic written language would favor the use of deverbal nouns for predication, so that the denotative function would be less required.

The relation between lexico-semantic groups and modes of action (on the material of phrasal verbs with the postverb up) / Leksinių semantinių grupių ir veiksmo būdų ryšys (frazinių veiksmažodžių su postverbu up pagrindu)

Žukaitė, Kristina 02 August 2011 (has links)
The subject matter of phrasal verbs is a complex linguistic phenomenon. It raises a great number of theoretical issues. These include linguistic status, derivational aspect, lexical meaning, aspectuality etc of phrasal verbs. The English postverb UP has been chosen for our research with the aim to investigate the relation between the formation of lexico-semantic groups and modes of action. We assume that our research and the data collected for it might be used in the course of lexicology, word formation and semantics of the English language.

Gramatinė ir leksinė gramatinė kohezija mokslinio ir publicistinio stiliaus tekstuose / Grammatical and lexico-grammatical cohesion in scientific and publicistic texts

Česnulienė, Vida 12 April 2013 (has links)
Leksinėmis gramatinėmis sakinių siejimo priemonėmis sakiniai siejami be antecedento, todėl siejant sakinius tekste tokiomis priemonėmis aiškumo, logiškumo dėlei pavartojama ir gramatinių siejimo priemonių. Mokslinio stiliaus tekstuose sakinius dažniau linkstama sieti gramatinėmis priemonėmis, kurios dėl savo funkcijų sakinių ryšius daro griežčiau įformintus. Publicistinio stiliaus tekstuose dažniau vartojamos leksinės gramatinės sakinių siejimo priemonės tekstą daro įvairesnį, netrafaretišką. Mokslinio stiliaus tekstuose dėl aprašomų objektų pateikimo principų sakiniams sieti dažniau vartojama sudėjimo ir priežasties konjunkcija. Publicistinio stiliaus tekstuose kohezijos raiška įvairesnė – vartojama ir sudėjimo, ir priešinamoji, ir priežasties, netgi modalinė konjunkcija. / The object of this dissertation is grammatical and lexico-grammatical means of sentence cohesion. This dissertation is the first study which offers a systematic and thorough description of these means in Lithuanian linguistics. The approach adopted in the dissertation – from function to form. It was found that grammatical means of sentence cohesion are much more common than lexico-grammatical means in both scientific and publicistic texts. Lexico-grammatical means of sentence cohesion connect the sentences without the antecedent, therefore, in order to achieve clarity of argumentation in text, additional grammatical means of cohesion are used alongside the lexico-grammatical means. Grammatical means which connect the subsequent sentence with the antecedent in the preceding sentence are more common in scientific texts than in publicistic texts. This way the cohesive ties are made more explicit. While lexico-grammatical means which make the text more varied and less consistent are more characteristic of publicistic texts than scientific texts. In scientific texts, sentences are linked by means of additive and causal conjunction, which is determined by the nature of the presentation of the subject matter. In publicistic texts, however, cohesive means are more varied – alongside additive and causal conjunction, we can find uses of adversative and modal conjunction as well.

[en] X-AR DENOMINAL VERBS IN PORTUGUESE: BEYOND DERIVATION AND CONVERSION / [pt] VERBOS DENOMINAIS X-AR NO PORTUGUÊS: PARA ALÉM DA DERIVAÇÃO E DA CONVERSÃO

ROSANGELA DE NAZARETH SOUSA COSTA 25 August 2008 (has links)
[en] In this work, the morphological process present in the formation of denominal verbs -ar in Brazilian Portuguese and the suitable syntactic and semantic implications that come from these process are studied. Proposals that traditionalist, structuralist, diachronically oriented and generativist linguists present about the process of suffix derivation in nouns or verbs are analyzed. Nominal bases of denominal verbs are examined, as well as the process of suffix derivation on verbs and nouns, in connection with the subsequent study of the process of conversion in Brazilian Portuguese. At the same time, the morphological nature is discussed of the thematic vowel -a, which occurs both in first conjugation verbs and thematic nouns in Portuguese, given the controversy as to whether Xar denominal verbs are formed by conversion rather than by suffix derivation. Beyond denominal verbs, deverbal nouns and nominalized forms of verbs are also analyzed, and a morphological basis of directionality for denominal verb formation and deverbal forms is proposed. Additionally to the morphological aspect of denominal verb formation the semantic condition of the nominal bases and suffixes that are embedded in the formation of new lexis is considered, since there is in language a narrow correlation between syntax, semantics and morphology.

[en] VERBAL PROCESSES NOMINALIZATION: SYSTEMIC-FUNCTIONAL PERSPECTIVE OF WRITTEN PRODUCTION IN SECONDARY SCHOOL CONTEXTS / [pt] A NOMINALIZAÇÃO DE PROCESSOS VERBAIS: PERSPECTIVA SISTÊMICO-FUNCIONAL DA PRODUÇÃO TEXTUAL EM CONTEXTOS ESCOLARES

MARIA DE OLIVEIRA MENDES RAMOS 19 February 2018 (has links)
[en] The aim of this study is to identify nominalized verbal processes and analyze their functions in the written production of secondary school students. These nominalizations are examined in clauses viewed as messages, which are organized according to the Theme and Rheme system. The research is based on systemic-functional theory (Halliday, 1994, Halliday e Matthiessen, 2004) for the study of grammatical metaphor through the identification of metaphorical constructions which present lexico-grammatical variation in the expression of meaning, being therefore considered as more complex than congruent forms. These transformations within linguistic structures start to appear in early adolescence, varying according to new contexts that require specific uses of the language. In order to study the use of nominalized forms in school writing, fifty argumentative essays in Portuguese were collected among 12th grade students from public and private secondary schools. Research participants also answered a socioeducational questionnaire that generated quantitative data so that social and/or individual features could be associated with students textual production. Qualitative analysis led into the identification of nominalizations (Basilio, 2003) with different discursive functions. Concerning the thematic structure, it was observed that nominalizations establish logical relations and help develop the flow of information in texts. A comparison between texts pointed out variation in metaphorical language use in different school contexts. These results indicate that it is important to make students and teachers aware of the textual and discursive effects that some linguistic mechanisms can produce, and based on this knowledge possibly avoid the production of texts that are not adequate to their intended purpose.
