Formulera-Kommunicera-Utvärdera / Formulate-Communicate-Evaluate

Mattsson, Kristin January 2014 (has links)
The Swedish governments goal for the public health is to operate for a society with good conditions to be healthy. Many people today are very conscious about their health, at the same time alcohol is a recurring element in many day-to-day situations. IOGT-NTO is an organization that is working towards making sobriety to be the rule rather than the exception. This work is linked together by the organizations communication, which is a vital part to be able to present a unified view outward. In order to do that, it is particularly important that there are common goals and strategies to work towards. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to investigate IOGT-NTOs approach to policy documents and the role they play in their everyday work with communications, and also how they carry out evaluation of their work.   The case study’s theoretical background consists of Strategic Communication, which for structure's sake is divided into sub-categories, Public Relations and Organizational Communication, Internal Communication, External Communication and Evaluation. The study has an abductive approach and uses qualitative methods. The study was conducted using focus interviews and text analysis, which together constituted a triangulation of methods.   The result of the study shows a consistent picture of the steering documents function, they are seen as guidelines that the communicative work is based on. Because of a widespread informal communication documents are not used on an everyday basis, but is instead something that ensures that the work follows the strategy the organization has taken. Evaluation is conducted largely through informal communication between colleagues and is rarely documented as it has a lower priority than other tasks. Therefore, there is potential for development, but in order to spend time on it, a clear goal of how evaluations in this case can be used is required. The study thus contributes to research by highlighting the importance of formulating clear policy documents and implement them when communicating, and that evaluation is a tool which can be used to develop the way that organizations work with communication.

Wadsten, Victoria, Iggström, Sara January 2014 (has links)
In this study, we aim to analyze how the terms documentation and pedagogical documentation respectively are portrayed in the curriculum (skolverket 2010) as well as in the curriculum complementary material (skolverket 2012). The analysis is performed by use of critical discourse analysis. We used published research as a theoretical base to analyze the empirical data against. Our aim is to increase the understanding of how the terms documentation and pedagogical documentation are used in the various policy documents and what messages these documents relay concerning the aforementioned terms. We aim to give some answers to the following questions: How to interpret the term documentation in relation to the term pedagogical documentation. How to interpret the ways the terms are promoted in the policy documents.  We conclude that the term documentation is vastly more open to interpretation than the term pedagogical documentation. We note that the curriculum exclusively use the term documentation and stress the importance of using a variety of documentation forms. The complimentary curricular documents promoting pedagogical documentation also states the importance of a critical analysis the methods used in the documentation process. In spite of this there is no suggestions for alternative documentation procedures in the complimentary curricular documents. Rather, on the contrary, it relays the message that pedagogical documentation is the only valid method.

Teachers' beliefs and implementation of CALL

Stolt, Daniel, Vibe, Elin January 2020 (has links)
The National Curriculum in Sweden states that students should be given the opportunity todevelop understanding of digital tools. However, based on previous international research onthe subject, teachers rarely find that they have enough digital competence and knowledge ofthe tools to implement them properly in their teaching practises. This study aims atdiscovering what active teachers’ experiences are with Computer Assisted LanguageLearning (CALL) and how well they implement it in Sweden. This paper provides anoverview of the previous research done on teachers’ beliefs and their tendencies to implementCALL. Directly accessed primary data was collected through a survey and semi-structuredinterviews with five teachers in years K-6. Analysis of this data showed that teachers doimplement CALL on a regular basis, however, some of them find it difficult to utilize fully. Itwas also found that the age of the teachers might play a part in how well they understand the CALL software. Furthermore, after analysing the policy documents from Skolverket, it wasfound that teachers in general feel they lack the necessary digital competence to teach digitalcompetence to their students. The main conclusions of this study are thus that (i) teachersimplement CALL on a regular basis, (ii) teachers feel that they lack basic digital knowledgeand thus struggle in using the digital tools efficiently in their teaching practises, somethingthat should be included in the teacher training programs, (iii), that the age of the teachersseem to play a part in how well the they implement CALL in their teaching practises, and(iiii), that whilst teachers find CALL useful and convenient, it can never replace the role of a teacher.

Förskoledigitalisering : Förskollärarnas syn på digital undervisning i förhållande till policytexter / Digitalization Of Preschool : Preschool Teachers’ view on Digital Teaching in Relation to Policies

Balandyte, Guoda Marija, Zolotova, Inna January 2022 (has links)
This study aims to examine why and how preschool teachers work with digital teaching in Sweden. To understand the purpose of digital teaching in preschool we have studied policy texts with the WPR approach, as well as making a survey consisting of 24 preschool teachers from different parts of the country. The survey was analyzed from the perspective of sociocultural theory to understand preschool teachers’ view on digital teaching and the  practical use of digital tools in preschool. Our survey along with previous research shows reluctance to using digital tools in teaching due to lack of digital competence. By comparing the results of the survey with the WPR-analysis we were able to see how policies control educational content in preschool in the context of digitalization and reveal the necessity of studying risks of negative effects on children's health. The result of our study along with previous research shows lack of studies and knowledge regarding the use of digital tools in early childhood. Despite a lack of research, the Swedish government  implemented policies to apply digital teaching in preschool.

Do they understand?

Kaminski, Tomas January 2014 (has links)
The aim of this paper is to investigate students’ understanding of the learning requirements for grade E in English in year 9 at a secondary school in the south of Sweden. Additionally, the student’s teacher is also interviewed to provide a context and setting for the study. The student data was conducted using open-ended questionnaires while the teacher was interviewed using a semi-structured qualitative approach. In their responses to the questionnaire, the students showed different degrees of understanding of parts of the syllabus. Some students were able to answer all questions and were capable to express themselves, however some students did not answer all the questions. Furthermore, a majority of the students felt that the language in the syllabus was difficult to understand. The teacher believed that the language in Lgr11 makes it difficult for students to understand the text. Additionally, she believed that the language is difficult even for teachers.

Interpretation and Grading in the Current Grading System

Nilsson, Anna-Maria, Björk, Malin January 2007 (has links)
This dissertation deals with the goal- and criterion-referenced grading system in use in Swedish schools today. We have chosen to investigate how teachers perceive the current grading system and what challenges they are faced with when grading in the English subject. The interest for this topic was deepened during our final in-school-practices after which we discussed the issue with each other and came to the conclusion that the grading system would be useful to delve into in order to feel more secure when leaving the teacher training college. The current grading system is debated in schools on a daily basis since it is a tool for teachers to work with. Although the teachers give the impression of still having difficulties with the current grading system, the results show that the majority of the interviewees have grasped the system. It rather seems as if the difficulty is how to interpret different policy documents due to the fact that the goals and the criteria are of a general nature at times. A general opinion among most of the teachers is that they do not have difficulties with the grading itself in the current grading system. But they do, however, request further grading steps in order to be better able to explain where the students are on the grading scale. Moreover, we concluded that the teachers believe the system to benefit the students as well as themselves. Also, that it is necessary to continuously have discussions concerning the current grading system so as to better understand what it entails.

Biologi i förskolan - med eller utan styrdokument : En studie om inkluderingen av ämnet biologi i förskoleverksamheten och hur det har förändrats under de senaste femtio åren / Biology in early childhood education – with or without a curriculum : A study on the inclusion of biology in early childhood education and how it has evolved over the past fifty years

Grundin, Jenny January 2016 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to examine the inclusion of biology in the early childhood education and how it has evolved over the last fifty years. What subjects and approaches have been included and what motives were given.   This study was divided into two sub-categories were text analysis was used to find out how biology has been included in the early childhood education throughout the years. On the basis of this field study was conducted, as well as qualitative semi-structured interviews to find out how the early childhood education works and has been working with regards to biology.   The results show that the curriculums as well as the teachers who have worked with this subject, has done it differently over the years. It’s also been found that the community has had a significant impact on the preschool content, as well as knowledge and personal interest.

I begränsningslandet mellan skydd och förenkling : Om vuxnas syn på barn inom So-ämnets diskursiva praktiker

Sundbäck, Sandra January 2016 (has links)
In Swedish primary school, the subjects geography, history, social studies or citizenship education and religion are integrated and known as one school subject called civic orientation. Through history, the civic orientation is characterized as a subject with a strong role to bring up a specific form of citizen. In civic orientation, there is mandatory content which the teacher must relate to. The mandatory content is based on certain views of children’s abilities and needs and thus sets the framework which either enables or limits the children. But the teacher also has the freedom to add content based on his/her own personal view of children’s needs and interests, and at the same time the curriculum also leaves room for interpretations. The purpose of this study is to analyze how the child in primary school is described, or what representations of the child are dominating in the civic orientation curricula. Furthermore, the aim of this study is to compare these representations to what three different teachers express when they motivate their didactic choices in civic orientation. The purpose of the comparison is to see whether the teachers are maintaining or questioning these representations of the child when they relate to the content expressed in the civic orientation curricula. The result shows that the content of the curricula is based on ideas that the child is socially and cognitively immature and therefore in need of simplification and protection. The teachers contribute to both questioning and maintaining these ideas, but their statements also reflect structural conditions of the school.

Inkludering - Utopi eller verklighet?

Johansson, Charlotte January 2013 (has links)
The aim of this paper is to shed some light on to what extent the process of making reality of Inclusion, as stated in International Declarations and in Government policies, has reached the actual educational activities in the school system. My chosen method is a case study, in which I have combined a survey with interviews in order to retrieve enough data for my analysis. I have also studied a number of policy documents and relevant literature. My analysis concludes, for the school that I have chosen to study, that there is still a lot to be done before inclusion becomes a reality. There are many obstacles to overcome, for instance; a constant struggle to obtain enough resources and to reach relevant levels of competence within the personnel. My study indicates that the current municipality states educational policies, regarding inclusion, that rest on the principal that there will be additional resources available in the classroom. However there is little chance that the school will have the means to apply such extra resources without additional financial and educational support from the municipality. Another worrying fact that appears through my study is that the system for student admission, as stated by the municipality, lets new pupils, often with special educational needs, continuously and directly in to the school. This system makes it difficult for the school management to produce endurable plans and achieve a balance in resources that align with the given financial frame. The study also shows the importance of how the interpretation of the concept of inclusion is being made. In the case of the studied school the interpretation has lead to a massive workload on the regular classroom teachers, who have been given an extensive responsibility for the teaching and documentation of every student. This responsibility does not match the capability, which has lead to the up building of an extensive non-inclusive activity, just to be able to keep up and to be able to “survive”.
