Pornotopia : história, desafios e reimaginações das pornografias feministas

Duarte, Larissa Costa January 2014 (has links)
Pornography has centralized much of the public debate about sexual policies in the United States between the 1970s and 1980s. Widely deployed by the feminist movement, the anti-pornography policies of the time led to the emergence of a natural counter-proposal: the so called post-pornography, or, as is more often known, the feminist pornography. This dissertation is about the rise of this movement as well as on its project: I will analyze, therefore, the socio-political context that enabled the rise of the post-porn, the implications and, theoretical and ideological associations of it, the changes that occurred in its ideation since its appearance until the present day, and finally the relationship between this movement and the social theories discussed perpetrated by the Social Sciences.

Pornografia de VinganÃa em Redes Sociais: Perspectivas de Jovens Vitimadas e as PrÃticas Educativas Digitais / Revenge Porn in Networks: Young Prospects and Practices Victimized Educational Digital

Bruna Germana Nunes Mota 23 March 2015 (has links)
The Internet gives us the access to information in real time and also allows the most varied content connections. With all these facilities, the Internet also provides dangers, called Virtual Crimes that are characterized by crimes committed through the virtual environment. They can be framed in the Brazilian Penal Code and violators are subject to penalties under the law. The test purpose is to discuss the Digital Educational Practices (DEPs) related to cybercrime, especially revenge porn. This has been a recurring problem among teenagers, so understanding how the DEPs can collaborate with the prevention of exposure teens on the web. The goal is to understand how the Digital Educational Practices may mediate the learning in the use of virtual networks, minimizing cyber crime and pornography for revenge. To conduct the research, was necessary to use concepts of DEPs, revenge porn and the Republic Constitution, since we treat the penalties for cybercrime. The research methodology is a study supported in literature searches as: Alfradique 2006, Burke 2008, Castells 2003, Grillo 2011 Junior 2006, Kenski 2007, Lemos and Maingueneau 2010, Pinheiro 2006 and Virilio 1996. It is based on oral plan, aimed to collect data in order to appropriate the historical facts. Through interviews, as one of the methodological procedures, all lines were recorded, as a way to approach the history of the subject, in other words, to seek a greater understanding of the vestiges of the past. In addition to interviews, we apply questionnaires with the students, teachers and a management representative. Those questionnaires proposed a more comparative and qualitative analysis. Trying to understand the occurrence of pornography related to young people, we clarify that the practice is well known among them, but the revenge of pornography term brings strangeness. So, between the results, it is concluded that between forty-four students, twenty one students met someone who was a victim of exposure and, at least, sixteen students have received pornographic materials, characterized with pornography for revenge. Currently, the expansion of the Internet and the facility of communication through instant messaging, such as WhatsApp application, have contributed to the increased dissemination of pornographic material. The fact is that something must be done to protect girls who are victims of exposure. The laws have been mild and hardly anyone is punished for committing the acts, because the photos are released through the application WhatsApp and are several people share and contribute to the dissemination of the material to a very large number of users, making it difficult in this way, the punishment of those involved in the release of the photos.

When there is no diagnosis : A qualitative study on how clinical therapists construct sexual addiction as a problem

Hökson, Johann, Olivi, Marcus January 2018 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to understand how clinical therapists of sexual addiction in Sweden construct sexual addiction as a problem. The data in this study was obtained from eight interviews with people who works as clinical therapists. The data then got analysed through perspective analysis. The findings in this study shows that the therapists find difficulties in defining sexual addiction and most of time the individual with sexual addiction define their own problem. Individuals with sexual addiction have a heterogenous perspective on the problem and the therapists also share this heterogenous perspective. A common theme in the stories from the therapists was that sexual addiction has many consequences. Two of the more prevalent consequences was the shame surrounding sexual addiction and the double life you must live as a person with sexual addiction because of this shame.

Défier la sexualisation du regard. Analyse des démarches contestataires des FEMEN et du post-porn / Defying the sexualization of the gaze. An analysis of the dissenting approaches of FEMEN and post-porn movements

Aulombard, Noémie 13 September 2019 (has links)
This thesis aims to study two different approaches which dissent from the dominant imaginary, through the analysis of the FEMEN movement’s direct actions and performances derived from the post-porn approach. Both dissenting approaches highlight and question, each in their own way, the sexualization of bodies, which is inherent to certain schema of the dominant imaginary: the FEMEN movement refuses it, while the post-porn approach offers other ways of sexualizing the body. An in-depth comparison of FEMEN's modes of action with those of the actors and actresses of the post-porn scene entails engagement with two different ways of re-working the notion of dominant sexual imaginaries, and also the re-signification of trans and/or non-heterosexual female bodies. Starting from the sexualization of bodies, I show how the way we look at bodies is locked in, structured by an imaginary shaped by power relationships: there are hegemonic ways to narrate the bodies of the dominant and the dominated. By disseminating themselves into the social world, corporal scripts – these fictions created through logics of domination – shape the way we look at bodies, corporal practices and social interactions. However, this locking in of the gaze contains in itself the conditions of its own unlocking. These modes of unlocking will be questioned through the prism of actions by FEMEN and post-porn activists. Does suggesting alternative body narrations unlock the gaze brought to bear on the body? What relation do these dissenting approaches have with hegemonic fictions?

Perceptions of the consumption of sexually-explicit material as an act of infidelity in the context of college romantic relationships and their connection to population variables

Plaza, Diego 01 May 2012 (has links)
This study sought to examine whether individuals perceive the consumption (i.e., viewing) of sexually-explicit material (SEM) as an act of infidelity. The study also looked into whether ethnicity, sexual orientation, religiosity, self-esteem, and femininity/masculinity influence this opinion. As an extension of the study, the participants' susceptibility for jealousy, general attitudes toward infidelity, attitudes toward SEM, opinion toward sexuality, and fear of abandonment were also analyzed. Social desirability was also used to find people's tendency to give socially desirable answers to questions related to sexuality. A statistical analysis of the study's results showed that religiosity significantly predicted opinions toward SEM as an act of infidelity. All other demographic values did not have significant predictability. An exploratory analysis showed that participants who think that viewing SEM is an acceptable behavior, are sexually liberal, use the internet for sexual purposes, and are less inclined to suffer jealousy in relationships were the most likely to believe that viewing SEM is not an act of infidelity.

Jag är inte porrmoralist, men... : En diskursanalys av pornografidebatten i svensk press år 2016 / "I'm not a porn moralist, but ..." A discourse analysis of the pornography debate in the Swedish press in 2016

Angvarson, Elin, Nilsson, Jesper January 2017 (has links)
The purpose of this essay is to investigate the opinions of pornography in the Swedish press 2016. To perform this, a quantitative method and discourse analysis on 139 published texts have been used. This study shows that the year of 2016 primarily is focused on a strong sence of concern about the effects of pornography rather than the industry itself, and the concerns are primarily rooted in anxiety of the effects on pornography-consumers, that is primarily young boys and men. The debate that is mainly represented by women with a great variety of work titles like scholars, criminologist, politicians, mothers, columnists, and film directors. The articles used for this study were found in newspapers and magazines from all over Sweden. When opinions about pornography is expressed it's usually a negative or critical opinions. If the opinion is positive or defending towards pornography it's usually a response to an already written negative or critical article. The critic is from different feminist theories, pro and counter arguments from both radical- and liberal feminism. Arguments that has its roots in the three counter waves during the 70's-, 80's- and 21's centrury is portrayed by the liberal feminist Petra Östergren in the publication Porr, Horor och Feminister. Some of the feminist arguments occur in contexts that describes the effects of pornography like something that inspire men and young boys to commit violent crimes. But there are also some arguments from the liberal feminist side that is more positive and that is arguing against the fact that women's pleasure is excluded from the male influenced debate. In the beginning of 2016 was the debate mostly focused on violence in pornography, that after a criminologist by the name Nina Rung published an article about sexuell crimes. During the summer the debate was mostly focused on sexual assaults due to the high numbers of assaults and harassments during the summer festivals. It will not be until october that the debate reached its heights, due to an article about the negative effects of pornography written by a group of politicians, tv-personalities and celebrities. Opinions that are possible to recognise during the rest of the year are adults and their concerns for kids and youths. A will to protect children and teenagers from pornography are strongly defined, but also a major discussion about sex norms and ideal in pornography are to be seen during 2016. The effect of pornography are also included in contexts like pornography- or emotional-impotence. An interesting part of the discourse analysis is the concept disclaimer. A linguistic discourse concept introduced by the researcher Teun A. van Dijk. The term have been used frequently by the counter porn critics. “I'm no moralist, but…” is an usual term used by the porn critics, something that could be used due to today's desire and habbit of building once’s own identity in our social media-opinion bubbles.
