COMPARISON OF VARIABILITY MODELING TECHNIQUES

<p>Variability in complex systems offering rich set of features is a seriouschallenge to their users in term of flexibility with many possible variants fordifferent application contexts and maintainability. During the long period oftime, much effort has been made to deal with these issues. An effort in thisregard is developing and implementing different variability modelingtechniques.This thesis argues the explanation of three modeling techniques namedconfigurable components, feature models and function-means trees. The maincontribution to the research includes:• A comparison of above mentioned variability modeling techniques in asystematic way,• An attempt to find the integration possibilities of these modelingtechniques based on literature review, case studies, comparison,discussions, and brainstorming.The comparison is based on three case studies each of which is implemented inall above mentioned three modeling techniques and a set of generic aspects ofthese techniques which are further divided into characteristics. At the end, acomprehensive discussion on the comparison is presented and in final sectionsome integration possibility are proposed on the basis of case studies,characteristics, commonalities and experience gained through theimplementation of case studies and literature review.</p>

Kineziterapijos studentų karjeros galimybių įvertinimas / Evaluation of career possibilities of physical therapy students

Darbo tikslas: Įvertinti Lietuvos kineziterapijos studentų nuomonę apie jų karjeros galimybes. Tyrimo metodika: Tyrimas atliktas 2010 m. sausio – vasario mėnesiais. Naudotas vienmomentis anoniminės apklausos metodas. Buvo apklausti visi aukštosiose Lietuvos mokyklose kineziterapijos specialybę studijuojantys trečio ir ketvirto kurso studentai. Viso išdalintos 173 anketos tolimesniam tyrimui atgal gautos ir statistinėje analizėje buvo naudotos 154 teisingai užpildytos anketos. Atsako dažnis 89,02 proc. Statistinė duomenų analizė atlikta naudojant SPSS 13.0 ir MS Excel programą. Rezultatai: Didžioji dalis (78,6 proc.) studentų teigė, kad jiems karjera yra svarbi, tačiau ji nėra svarbesnė už jų asmeninį gyvenimą. Tik kas dešimtas respondentas manė, kad karjera ir asmeninis gyvenimas yra neatsiejami dalykai. Be karjeros savo gyvenimo neįsivaizduoja daugiau vyrų nei moterų. Daugiau nei 64 proc. apklausos dalyvių mano, kad šiuo metu kineziterapeuto specialybė yra perspektyvi, 6,5 proc. respondentų nuomone – prestižinė, ir kas dešimtas teigia, kad kineziterapeuto specialybė šiuo metu yra neprestižinė arba neaiškios paskirties. Net 86,4 proc. studentų progai pasitaikius sutiktų savo specialybę keisti. Tuo tarpu, 87,7 proc. apklausos dalyvių baigę kineziterapeuto studijas planuoja dirbti pagal savo specialybę. 63,6 proc. apklausos dalyvių baigę studijas ketina dirbti Lietuvoje, o 36,4 proc. - ketina darbo ieškotis užsienio šalyse. Daugiau moterų nei vyrų ketina darbo ieškoti... [toliau žr. visą tekstą] / Aim: To evaluate the opinion of Lithuanian physical therapy students about their career possibilities. Methods: The cross-sectional study was carried out in January / February, 2010. The questionnaires were distributed to all (N=173) third and fourth year physical therapy students, who studied at university degree programs . The response rate was 89%. Results: The majority of students (78.6%.) indicated career as important factor in their lives, but not as important as private life. Only every tenth respondent considered career and private life being inseparable and relevant matters. More men than women could not imagine their lives without career. Moreover, career was important for women but not as important as their private life. More than 64% of respondents, considered their specialty as perspective, 6.5% tended to think that it is a prestigious one, and only every tenth respondent stated it not prestigious or with destination in nowadays context. It should be stressed, that 86.4% of students would change their specialty, if they would have a chance. After the graduation of studies, 87.7% of respondents were planning to work in the field of physical therapy. 63.6% participants of the survey were planning to stay and work in Lithuania. Meanwhile, 36.4% of respondents were planning to work abroad. More women than men were planning to find a job in Lithuania. Bakgrund: Depression blir allt vanligare men ändå diagnostiseras endast cirka hälften av dem som drabbas. Svårigheterna med att bli diagnostiserad ökar med åldern då äldre ofta upplever mer somatiska symtom vid depression och sjukvården har en stor kunskapslucka kring identifieringen och vilka riskfaktorer som inverkar. Syfte: Syftet var att belysa riskfaktorer som kan inverka på utvecklingen av en depression hos äldre och de möjligheter sjuksköterskor har att identifiera depression hos äldre personer. Metod: En litteraturöversikt gjordes på valt ämne. Studier söktes genom databaserna: MEDLINE, CINAHL Complete, ASSIA och Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection. De sökord som användes var: depression, older adults, older, nurse/nurses, identify, recognize, risk factors och elderly. Fribergs analysmetod användes vid analys av artiklarna. Resultat: Resultatet i litteraturöversikten redovisas utifrån de två kategorier som framkom genom analysen av artiklarna. Första kategorin beskriver de riskfaktorer som kan inverka på depression hos äldre och den andra beskriver sjuksköterskans möjligheter till att identifiera depression. De riskfaktorer som kan inverka på en depression är livskvalitetens inverkan och somatisk inverkan. Sjuksköterskans möjligheter till att identifiera depression sammanställdes till kunskap och utbildning samt tid för samtal. Diskussion: Styrkor och svagheter diskuteras i metoddiskussionen och resultatet diskuteras i relation till syfte, bakgrund och Barkers tidsvattenmodell i resultatdiskussionen. / Background: Depression is becoming more common but only half of the cases are getting diagnosed. The difficulties of getting a diagnose increases with age and the elderly have more somatic symptoms of depression. There is a huge knowledge gap within healthcare sector relating to the identification of depression and the risk factors that influence it. Aim: The aim is to highlight the risk factors that may influence the development of depression among the elderly and the opportunities nurses have to identify depression among the older people. Method: A litterature review was made on the chosen topic. Studies were searched through the databases: MEDLINE, CINAHL Complete, ASSIA and Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection. The keywords that were used was: depression, older adults, older, nurse/nurses, identify, recognize, risk factors and elderly. Friberg’s analytical method was used to analys the articles. Results: Two categories were presented in the result. The first category descibes the risk factors that may effect depression among the elderly and the second category describes the nurses possibilities to identify depression. The risk factors that may effect a depression are: quality of life and somatic impact. The nurses ability to identify depression among elderly were compiled into knowledge, education and time for dialog. Discussion: Strength and weaknesses are discussed in the method discussion while the results are discussed in relation to the purpose, background and Barkers tidalmodel in the result discussion.

Professionals´perspectives on their collaboration in working with unacompanied refugee children : A qualitative study

The aim of this study was to explore some social workers’ and psychologists’ perspectives ontheir collaboration concerning unaccompanied refugee children. More specifically; in which situations do the social workers and psychologists collaborate with each other in their work with unaccompanied refugee children and what challenges and possibilities do they describe in their collaborative work? This qualitative study was carried out in one municipality in Sweden with a high quantity of unaccompanied refugee children. Three social workers and two psychologists were interviewed. The interviewees described existing collaboration between the two professions when working with unaccompanied refugee children as regarding the young person ́s health. Most often the collaboration was described as taking place in so called sip-meetings that is an obligatory meeting between the two professions regarding the young person's health. However, also challenges regarding their collaboration as lack of resources and communication between these two professions emerged and are discussed.

Syftet med denna undersökning är att bidra med kunskap om de deltagande förskollärares tan-kar och uppfattningar om flerspråkighet i förskolan samt hur dessa förskollärare arbetar för att främja flerspråkiga förmågor. Till grund för denna kvalitativa studie ligger semistrukturerade intervjuer med fyra förskollärare från två olika förskolor. Resultatet visar att de deltagande förskollärarna har ett tvetydigt förhållningssätt till flerspråkighet som innehåller utmaningar och möjligheter. Det visar också att de dominerande språkaktiviteterna i verksamheten be-handlar det svenska språket och att flerspråkiga barn får närma sig sitt modersmål i mindre grad. / The aim of this study is to contribute with knowledge about the participant preschool te-achers’ thoughts and conceptions regarding multilingualism in preschool and how preschool teachers work to further children’s multilingual abilities. In this qualitative study four pre-school teachers from two different preschools were interviewed using semi-structured intervi-ews. The result shows that preschool teachers have a ambiguously approach thoughts regar-ding multilingualism containing both challenges and possibilities. The result also shows that most language activities in the preschool only concern the Swedish language while the mul-tilingual children have less contact with their native language.

This diploma thesis which is devided into four parts is trying to map the current state of the statuory city Zlín and identify opportunities and barriers of its further development. The first section provides a theoretical basis for understanding the problems of cities and municipal development and also introduces the method of SWOT analysis, which is used in this thesis as well. Second, the most extensive section is devoted to an socioeconomic analysis and constitutes a basis for the next two chapters. The analysis is divided thematically and tries to outline the development and current situation of the city. The third part consists of a SWOT analysis of Zlín, which describes its strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the future. Last, the fourth chapter shows the possibilities and barriers to the development of the city, divided into six thematic groups: population; business environment, transport, environment, culture, sport and leisure, tourism and public administration. It also outlines how to exploit opportunities and overcome barriers.

<p>The aim of this research is to examine how the homes of children, in cooperation with the schools, are offered opportunities to communicate and discuss mathematics together with the children in relevant situations. The overall intent of the study is manifest in scientific questions with focus on how parents view the subject and the opportunities to support their children with math homework as well as possibilities to actively support their child´s mathematics progress. The paper has a pfenomenographic approach, which means that it in a qualitative way describes similarities and differences in the ways the homes perceive this issue. The examination is implemented through a survey in which responds from 73 parents in four classes have been studied. Within this study six semi constructed interviews have been conducted. The result of the study indicates that parents are positive to math homework, but that their ability to guide and support the child's math studies are to some extent limited. There is a need for an increased collaboration between the school and the homes, for instance by instructing the parents on modern math methods.</p>

"Det står väl inte behandlingshem i pannan på dig eller?" : Behandlingspersonalens uppfattning av villkoren för ungdomars identitetsskapande på behandlingshem.

Syftet med studien var att undersöka och förstå villkoren för ungdomars identitetsskapande på behandlingshem. I denna kvalitativa studie har fem personer intervjuats ur personalstyrkan på ett behandlingshem med två avdelningar. Frågor ställdes gällande intervjupersonernas uppfattningar om de möjligheter och begränsningar som fanns för ungdomar att skapa en positiv identitet på behandlingshemmet. Den teoretiska referensram som användes i tolkningen av resultatet var Goffmans och Beckers tankar om identiteten som en produkt av interaktion samt även Wrangsjös tolkning av ungdomsutveckling. Resultatet visade att möjligheterna som nämndes kunde delas in i tre teman: trygghet, positiv bekräftelse och social färdighetsträning. Samtidigt kunde trygghet och bekräftelse vara begränsningar i ungdomarnas identitetsskapande. Ytterligare en begränsning var ungdomarnas bristande motivation till att förändra sina självbilder och beteenden. Enligt personalen fanns det flera orsaker till att de inte lyckades motivera ungdomarna: bristande information eller tid, personalens otillräckliga kompetens eller att arbetsmetoden på behandlingshemmet inte passade ungdomarna. Villkoren på behandlingshemmet kunde beskrivas som komplexa och svåra att definiera, detta på grund av de kontextuella aspekterna som behövde beaktas för att förstå identitetsskapandet för ungdomar. / The aim of this study was to examine and understand the conditions under which young people develop their identities at care and treatment homes. In this qualitative study, five staff members were interviewed at a care and treatment home consisting of two units. The staff members at the home were asked questions regarding what they thought were the possibilities and limitations for young people to create a positive identity there. The theoretic reference frame that was used in the interpretation of the results was Goffman´s and Becker´s understanding of identity as a product of interaction as well as Wrangsjö´s interpretation of adolescent development. The results showed that the possibilities that were mentioned could be divided into three themes: safety, positive acknowledgement and social quality training. At the same time safety and acknowledgement could also have had a limiting effect on the development of young people´s identities. Another limitation was the lack of motivation to change their self- images and behavior. According to the staff, there were several reasons why they did not succeed in motivating the adolescents: lack of information and time, insufficient competence among staff, or that the method used in the home did not fit the adolescents. The conditions at the care and treatment home could be described as complex and hard to define, because of the contextual aspects that had to be considered when evaluating the process of identity-development.

I den här studien har vi undersökt hur vårdnadshavarnas och pedagogernas bemötande gentemot barnen påverkar deras identitet, samt om förskolans miljö har en inverkan på dem. I läroplanen för förskolan är jämställdhet ett skrivet mål som skall genomsyra verksamheten. Vi har använt oss av den kvalitativa metoden där vi genom observationer, frågeformulär och intervjuer har fått fram ett underlag till vår studie. Resultatet visar generellt att pedagogernas och vårdnadshavarnas förhållningssätt och handlingar påverkar barnens möjligheter och hur de ser på sig själva som pojke eller flicka. Även förskolans miljö har en inverkan på barns val av aktiviteter. Vi har kommit fram till att både vårdnadshavarna och pedagogerna bör bli mer medvetna om hur de bemöter de olika könen. / This study discusses whether the guardians' and educationalists' treatment of the children affects the children's identity. Moreover it looks at whether the preschool environment has an impact on them. According to the curriculum of the preschool gender equality is a written goal, which should be implemented throughout the preschool organization. We have chosen to use the qualitative method. In order to get material to our investigation, we made observations, questionnaires and interviews. The result implies that guardians' and educationalists' attitudes and actions are affecting the children's possibilities and how they view themselves as boys and girls. In addition, the preschool environment has an impact on children's choices of activities. Our conclusion is that guardians' and educationalists' should increase their awareness of how they treat boys and girls differently.
