La construction de l'extraterritorialité chez Roberto Bolano : écriture de l'émigration et avant-garde

Cette thèse doctorale étudie le caractère extraterritorial de l’œuvre de Roberto Bolaño, laquelle est enrichie par le nomadisme de l’auteur (celui-ci ayant notamment vécu au Chili, au Mexique et en Espagne). Il représente l’image d’un écrivain déraciné du fait du découplage de ses textes vis-à-vis de sa terre natale. Ses personnages migrants semblent souvent désolidarisés de leur pays d’origine. Ils errent d’un continent à l’autre sans savoir où leurs périples s’achèveront. Nous verrons que l’expérience de l’exil, chez l’auteur, permet l’identification des relations qui existent entre l’œuvre, la société et le contexte historique. Bolaño met en lumière différents événements tels que des dictatures militaires et des guerres civiles, lesquels frappèrent l’Amérique Latine de 1960 à 1990. Il crée pour cela une sorte de tribunal littéraire. Cela permet à Bolaño d’évoquer les mémoires individuelle et collective, rappelant des instants douloureux à partir desquels le langage devient violent et désolant. Cette étude a aussi pour objet de chercher à dévoiler les éléments avant-gardistes qu’il intègre à son œuvre. Il tente de s’affranchir de toute norme et de s’opposer aux canons littéraires établis. Cela constitue un acte transgresseur qui lui permet d’effacer les frontières afin de construire de nouveaux espaces à travers son écriture. / This doctoral thesis studies the extraterritorial nature of Roberto Bolaño’s writing,which is enriched by the nomadic life of the author (having lived in Chile, Mexico and Spain). He represents the image of a writer who has been uprooted an aspect which is reflected in the proportion of the text devoted to his native land. The migrant characters in his writings often seem disconnected from their countries of origin. They wander from one continent to another without knowing where their journey will end. We will see that the author’s experience of exile allows us to identify the links between Bolaño’sliterary works, society and the historical context. The author highlights different events such as military dictatorships and civil wars which occurred in Latin America between 1960 and 1990. He provides a sort of literary judgement on this period. This enables Bolaño to evoke individual and collective memories,recalling painful incidents, which give rise to violent and distressing language. In addition, this study attempts to unveil the avant-garde elements present in his literature. He attempts to go beyond every norm and to oppose himself to the established literary canons. This constitutes an act of defiance whic hallows him to erase the literary boundaries in order to give way to the creation of a new space through his literature.

Rilettura della storia e attivismo politico nei romanzi dei Wu Ming

Ma thèse propose une analyse attentive de la ré-écriture de l'histoire articulée dans trois romans du collectif d'écrivains italiens publiant sous le pseudonyme Wu Ming: "Q", "54" et "Manituana". Partant du pamphlet publié par les Wu Ming en 2008 sur leur conception du roman historique et de l’écriture romanesque en général, the New Italian Epic (NIE), je propose deux angles d’approche pour mettre en évidence la relecture de l’histoire se dessinant dans les romans cités ci-dessus: la notion du regard oblique (qui est mentionnée dans le NIE); et le concept de multitude. La technique du regard oblique implique une réflexivité de la narration, une mise en abîme du processus narratif qui est effectuéé par le biais d’un point de vue insolite. Ce dernier peut provenir d'un animal, d’un objet animé, ou même d’un objet mystérieux comme le flux immatériel. Cette technique a déjà des précédents littéraires dans l’oeuvre d’écrivains tels que Italo Calvino ou Thomas Pynchon, mais dans la nouvelle forme qu’elle acquiert dans les textes des Wu Ming, elle permet l’articulation d’une relecture transversale de l’histoire. Cette relecture transversale émergeant dans les romans des Wu Ming est analysée dans la première partie de la thèse. La conceptualisation du regard oblique que je développe dans cette partie se base sur la théorie de l'anamorphose de Jacques Lacan, ainsi que sur le concept de la "troisième personne" proposé récemment par le philosophe Roberto Esposito. La seconde partie de la thèse aborde la problématique de la confrontation de l'écriture des Wu Ming à la situation socio-politique internationale contemporaine, soit comment leur ré-écriture de l'histoire s'insère dans la situation biopolitique globale. Dans les romans des Wu Ming on voit surgir une interprétation de cette situation globale qui dépasse les notions classiques de l'État et du citoyen. Le concept du biopolitique se prête à diverses interprétations: dans ses écrits des années 1970, Michel Foucault, qui est un des théoriciens majeurs du biopouvoir et de la biopolitique, ne parvient pas à proposer une interprétation unique et précise de ce dernier concept. Plusieurs philosophes italiens ont repris ce discours en le développant chacun à sa manière. Certains, comme Paolo Virno et, un peu plus tard Toni Negri, voient dans la notion de la Multitude une possibilité pour équilibrer le rapport pouvoir/personne et par conséquent pour développer de nouvelles possibilités révolutionnaires pour la déconstruction du biopouvoir. Les Wu Ming semblent suivre la voie positive de la multitude, qui selon leur conception correspond plus à une interprétation néo-marxiste de l’histoire. / My thesis presents an attentive analysis of the rewriting of history, articulated in three novels of the group of Italian authors publishing under the pseudonym Wu Ming: "Q", "54" and "Manituana". Starting from the pamphlet published by the Wu Ming in 2008, on their conception of the historical novel and the romantic writing in general, the New Italian Epic (NIE), I propose two ways to put in evidence the review of History that emerges from the novels mentioned above: the notion of the oblique gaze (mentioned in the NIE); and the concept of the multitude. The technique of the oblique gaze implies a reflexion on the narration, a "mise en abyme" of the narrative process which is made by the way of an unusual point of view. This technique already has some litterary precedents in the works of writers such as Italo Calvino or Thomas Pynchon,*but in the new form that it aquires in the texts of the Wu MIng, it allows the articulation of a transversal review of history. This transversal review emerging from the novels of the Wu Ming is analysed in the first part of the thesis. The conceptualization of the oblique gaze that I develop in this section is based on the theory of the Anamorphosis of Jacques Lacan, in addition to the concept of the "Third person" suggested recently by the philosopher Roberto Esposito. The second part of the thesis focuses on Wu Ming’s analysis and interpretation of the contemporary socio-political situation, namely how their re-writing of history is inserted in the global biopolitical situation. In the novels of the Wu Ming we observe the emergence of an interpretation of this global situation which subverts the classical notions of the State and the citizen. The concept of biopolitics lends itself to different interpretations: in his writings of the 1970's, Michel Foucault, who is one of the major theorists of biopower and biopolitics, does not succeed in suggesting a unique and precise interpretation of this concept. Many Italian philosophers have worked on this notion, each one of them developping it in her own way. Some, such as Paolo Virno and, some time later Toni Negri, see in the concept of the multitude a possibility to balance the rapport power/people and therefore to develop new revolutionary possibilities for the deconstruction of the biopower. The Wu MIng seem to follow the positive reading of the multitude, which according to their conception, corresponds more to a neo-marxist interpretation of History. / Nella mia tesi esamino l’emergenza di una riscrittura della Storia proposta dai tre romanzi: Q, 54 e Manituana, del collettivo di scrittori italiani che pubblicano sotto lo pseudonimo Wu Ming, i quali, attraverso una nuova proposta di romanzo storico e lo sguardo della Moltitudine, rimettono in questione la struttura del biopotere. Da un’attenta analisi dei testi sopracitati fuoriescono le peculiarità di un nuovo modo di concepire il romanzo storico in cui, fra le varie caratteristiche emerge quella dello “sguardo obliquo”, tecnica basata nell’esporre al lettore la narrazione facendola provenire da un punto di vista che non è quello che solitamente ci si attende, ma piuttosto un punto di vista insolito che può provenire da animali, oggetti animati, o addirittura da oggetti misteriosi come flussi immateriali. Questa tecnica ha già visto alcuni illustri precedenti letterari nelle sperimentazioni di scrittori quali Italo Calvino o Thomas Pynchon, ma nella nuova forma che fuoriesce dalla scrittura dei Wu Ming acquista la particolare capacità di leggere la storia in un contesto che si accosta in modo accentuato alle problematiche del contemporaneo. L’analisi di questa lettura trasversale, che copre la prima parte della tesi, è stata effettuata con l’aiuto di alcune teorie come quelle dell’Anamorfosi di Jacques Lacan, ma è attraverso il concetto della “terza persona”, riproposto recentemente da Roberto Esposito, che ho inquadrato lo sguardo obliquo come essenza estranea al rapporto dialogico io/tu. Nella seconda parte della tesi affronto la problematica dell’allineamento della scrittura dei Wu Ming alla situazione socio-politica internazionale contemporanea; detta in altre parole cerco di far emergere come la loro riscrittura della storia si inserisca nella situazione biopolitica globale. Nei romanzi dei Wu Ming, infatti, si scorge un’interpretazione del contemporaneo che sorpassa le categorie classiche di Stato e cittadino in favore di un’idea di egemonia universale esercitante un bio-potere globale. Il concetto di biopolitica si apre a varie interpretazioni. Già dalle prime iniziative negli anni Settanta Michel Foucault si era trovato in una situazione di ambigua difficoltà nel poter dare un’interpretazione unica e precisa dei concetti da lui stesso proposti. Vari filosofi italiani hanno ripreso questo discorso incompiuto sviluppandogli intorno una parte importante del proprio pensiero, ognuno però scegliendo una propria strada. Alcuni di loro come Paolo Virno e, successivamente, Toni Negri vedono nella categoria della “Moltitudine” una possibile via per equilibrare il rapporto Potere/persona e quindi ottenere nuove possibilità rivoluzionarie per poter decostruire il biopotere. I Wu Ming sembrano seguire la strada positivista della moltitudine, la quale si allinea alla loro natura marxiana.

CAPES - Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / INCT - Instituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia / O Monitoramento da Integridade Estrutural baseado na técnica da Impedância Eletromecânica permite a detecção de alterações em estruturas, possibilitando a identificação e o reparo de danos. A técnica baseia-se em obter assinaturas de impedância da estrutura monitorada, em diversos momentos da operação da mesma. Possíveis danos são identificados pela comparação matemática entre as assinaturas obtidas. Sendo uma técnica bastante precisa, variações na temperatura e efeitos externos como vibrações e campos eletromagnéticos atuantes sobre a estrutura monitorada representam perturbações que tendem a gerar erros no processo de monitoramento. Para tornar o processo de diagnóstico mais robusto, torna-se necessário dissociar os verdadeiros efeitos de alteração estrutural daqueles que são considerados interferências externas. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo mostrar um estudo de caso, usando um painel aeronáutico de alumínio como corpo de prova, em que a influência dos fatores não previstos na técnica da impedância é identificada e caracterizada por meio de modelos estatísticos. Para realizar estas análises, foram executados experimentos utilizando transdutores piezelétricos acoplados ao referido painel. Os experimentos submeteram o painel à variação de temperatura e à inclusão de danos simulados. A partir dos dados de assinatura de impedância obtidos, comprovou-se a eficiência dos modelos estatísticos elaborados, sendo possível tanto separar e identificar a influência do dano simulado e da temperatura quanto estabelecer um intervalo de confiança nas análises desenvolvidas. Com esses resultados, é possível indicar que a técnica de análise estatística proposta torna-se uma útil ferramenta de pré-processamento de dados em aplicações de monitoramento de estruturas baseados no método da impedância eletromecânica. / Structural Integrity Monitoring based on the Electromechanical Impedance technique allows the detection of changes in structures, allowing the identification and repair of damages. The technique relies on obtaining impedance signatures from the monitored structure, at various moments of its operation. Possible damages are identified by the mathematical comparison between the signatures obtained. As a very precise technique, variations in temperature and external effects such as vibrations and electromagnetic fields acting on the monitored structure represent perturbations that tend to generate errors in the monitoring process. To make the diagnostic process more robust, it becomes necessary to decouple the true structural alteration effects from those that are considered external interferences. The present work aims to show a case study using an aluminum aeronautical panel as a test body, in which the influence of factors not predicted in the impedance technique is identified and characterized by means of statistical models. To perform these analyzes, experiments were performed using piezoelectric transducers coupled to said panel. The experiments subjected the panel to temperature variation and to the inclusion of simulated damages. From the impedance signature data obtained, the efficiency of the elaborated statistical models was verified, being possible to separate and identify the influence of the simulated damage and the temperature, as well as to establish a confidence interval in the developed analyzes. With these results, it is possible to indicate that the proposed statistical analysis technique becomes a useful tool for data preprocessing in structural monitoring applications based on the electromechanical impedance method. / Dissertação (Mestrado)

Une idée particulière de littérature est née au cours des XVIIIe et XIXe siècles, période qui coïncide avec la naissance du genre romanesque moderne. L’idée de roman moderne issue de ces transformations à cette époque-là configure un champ virtuel de caractéristiques qui a marqué aussi bien la théorie littéraire du XXe siècle que la production de textes. Cette recherche pose la question de la vitalité de cette idée de roman moderne et, par voie de conséquence, de la notion de littérature qu’elle suppose. Nous proposons donc une étude de l’idée de roman au sein des poétiques de trois auteurs hispano-américains contemporains : Juan José Saer, Ricardo Piglia et Roberto Bolaño. Cette étude tient compte autant d’aspects théoriques que formels et se concentre sur les essais et les entretiens des auteurs, ainsi que sur trois romans : La grande, La ciudad ausente et 2666. Nous postulons ainsi une lecture comparée à partir de l’indétermination, du rapport à l’expérience et de la réflexivité, considérés comme traits principaux de l’idée de roman moderne, ainsi qu’une analyse des trois romans à partir de leurs formes narratives, réflexives et hybrides. / A particular idea of literature was born during the 18th and 19th centuries, a period that corresponds with the rise of the modern novel genre. The idea of the modern novel, which came about during this time period, constitutes a virtual field of characteristics that has left its mark on both 20th century literary theory and on textual production. This research questions the vitality of this particular idea of the modern novel and, therefore, of the notion of literature it withholds. Our aim then, is to study the idea of the novel as it is expressed in the poetics of three contemporary Latin American writers: Juan José Saer, Ricardo Piglia and Roberto Bolaño. This study considers theoretical aspects as well as formal ones, focusing on essays and interviews of the three authors, as well as on three novels: La grande, La ciudad ausente and 2666.It presents a comparative reading of these poetics according to three main concepts: indetermination, relation to experience and reflexivity, which we think to be central to the idea of the modern novel. In addition, this study analyzes the three novels in terms of their narrative, reflexive and hybrid forms.

Le rapport mimétique dans l’œuvre de Roberto Bolaño / The mimetic link in the works of Roberto Bolaño

Dans ce travail nous analysons le rapport de l’individu au mimétisme dans l’œuvre de l’écrivain Chilien Roberto Bolaño (1953-2003). La notion du mimétisme est étroitement liée à celle du désir. En effet, selon le penseur français René Girard, l’individu ne désire pas par soi-même, mais il imite un modèle. Le désir est ainsi déterminé par ce médiateur. Cette forme de désir opère de manière inconsciente car le sujet est sûr de l’autonomie de son choix. Jacques Lacan enrichi cette lecture inspiré d’une idée typiquement hégélienne : le désir de reconnaissance. Pour Lacan, l’individu, avec une idée figée de soi-même (que Lacan appelle l’Imaginaire) est investi par le désir en forme de pulsion. Le mimétisme est double, non seulement l’individu imite des modèles pour tenter de correspondre à cette image figée, mais il destine son effort à être reconnu par les autres (que Lacan appelle le grand Autre ou le Symbolique). Cette étude utilise l’approche méthodologique que nous venons de décrire pour analyser l’œuvre de Roberto Bolaño. Bolaño, un des écrivains le plus importants de la littérature hispano-américaine des dernières années, est un auteur qui place au cœur de ses textes la problématique de l’autonomie du sujet. Cette problématique est surtout visible dans les deux thématiques, à notre sens dominantes, de son œuvre : l’art et le Mal. En effet, dans les textes de Bolaño il est toujours question d’artistes qui luttent pour faire reconnaître leur autonomie (c’est pour cette raison que ces artistes s’inscrivent souvent dans les mouvements d’avant-garde opposés à la tradition). De même, dans l’œuvre de l’écrivain chilien la violence est causée soit par la violence mimétique (les rivalités causées par une lecture erronée de la nature du désir : l’autre est un obstacle à la satisfaction du désir et non un médiateur de celui-ci) soit par les actes répondant à l’obsession d’un manque chez l’individu : généralement celui de ne pas pouvoir arriver à satisfaire une pulsion ayant son origine dans l’Imaginaire. / In this work we analyze the link between the subject and mimetic desire in the works of Chilean writer Roberto Bolaño (1953-2003). The concept of mimetic is closely related to the notion of desire. In fact, for French thinker René Girard, the individual doesn’t desire by himself, but he imitates a “model”. Desire is thus determined by the mediator. This type of desire operates in an unconscious way, because the subject is confident about the autonomy of his choice. French psychanalyst Jacques Lacan enhances this theory in a typically Hegelian way: the desire of recognition. For Lacan, the individual projects himself in a fixed image (called by Lacan the Imaginary); this fixation assails him in the form of a drive. Here mimetic desire is doubled: it doesn’t only imitate models to try to match with this fixed image, but also aims its effort to be recognized by others. Our work uses this methodological approach to study the works of Roberto Bolaño. Bolaño, one of the most important Hispanic American writers of the last years, puts the issue of the autonomy of the subject in the heart of his writings. This topic is mainly noticeable at the two main themes of his work: art and Evil. As a matter of fact, Bolaño’s writings always highlight the struggle of the artist who wants his autonomy recognized by the Other (for this reason, Bolaño’s artists are often members of the avant-garde, thus opposed to tradition). Correspondingly, violence can be caused in one hand by mimetic desire (rivalries provoked by an erroneous interpretation of desire’s nature: the Other is saw more as an obstacle for desire’s satisfaction than its mediator) or, on the other hand, by acts that meet the obsession of a lack: one that generally consist in a drive (originated in the Imaginary) that can’t be satisfied.

Écrites dans le vague souvenir des romans d’apprentissage du début de l’ère industrielle, les œuvres de Marcel Proust, Osman Lins, Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul, Joyce Carol Oates et Roberto Bolaño reviennent avec mélancolie à une question qui marque la modernité : comment tracer l’histoire de l’arrivée dans une grande ville ? À la Recherche du temps perdu et Blonde examinent des rituels mondains au sein des capitales transformées par la guerre. L’absence d’ordre produit des fils énigmatiques, à l’image du kaléidoscope, de la spirale, du labyrinthe et de la cité de sable, ces dispositions s’appliquant à l’écriture de l’espace urbain et du récit qui y conduit. L’Énigme de l’arrivée les relie aux problématiques de la migration, de la langue mondiale et de l’empire multiculturel qui se consolide dans la deuxième moitié du XXe siècle. L’œuvre de Lins fait converger l’urbanité, l’ésotérisme et des mondanités intellectuelles : l’imitation, la citation, la bibliographie. L’urbain devient une satire chez Bolaño : ses arrivistes et ses carriéristes, qui sont des poètes et des professeurs de littérature, appartiennent à la famille des meurtriers de masse. La nostalgie du roman d’apprentissage urbain, désormais sous le signe du regret, demande une réévaluation intégrale. Alors que la métaphore végétale indique des processus stylistiques de décomposition qui joignent la désurbanisation et l’émergence de la vie de l’esprit, l’écriture des plantes peut conduire plus largement à de nouvelles possibilités d’individuation, moins motivées par la pulsion mondaine qui caractérise les récits capitalistes, et plus discrètement marquées par l’inscription non instrumentale et involontaire, autrement violente, dans la nature. / Written with the vague memory of the novels of formation of the beginning of the industrial era, the novels of Marcel Proust, Osman Lins, Vidiadhar Surajprasad Naipaul, Joyce Carol Oates and Roberto Bolaño return with melancholy to a question that has marked modernity: how do we record the story of the arrival in a big city? In Search of Lost Time and Blonde examine the worldly rituals at the heart of the capitals transformed by war. The absence of order produces enigmatic forms: in the image of the kaleidoscope, the spiral, the labyrinth and the city of sand, these forms arrange the writing of the urban space and the narrative that leads into it. The Enigma of Arrival links those processes to the problematics of migration, global language and the multicultural empire that has taken shape during the second half of the twentieth century. The work of Lins brings together urbanity, esoterism and elements of intellectual worldliness: imitation, quotation, bibliography. The urban becomes a satire in Bolaño: his arrivistes and his careerists, who are poets and teachers of literature, belong to the family of mass murderers. The novel of urban formation, now available only as a lost object, a target for nostalgia under the sign of regret, merits thorough reevaluation. Seeing that the vegetal metaphor points to stylistic processes of decomposition that bring together de-urbanization and the emergence of the life of the mind, the writing of plants may lead to new possibilities of individuation, less motivated by the worldly pulsion that characterizes capitalistic narratives, and bearing more discreet traces of the non-instrumental and involuntary, more violent inscription into nature.

Par l'analyse des tableaux et de sa propre théorie de 1938 à 1948 nous proposons une nouvelle exégèse de l'oeuvre de Roberto Matta Echaurren. Cette période se déroule principalement à New York devenue la nouvelle capitale de l'art. Un contexte particulier d'inquietude par rapport au destin de l'humanité et à la fois d'une grande prospérité économique précisaient les bases de la grande période de l'École de NewYork. Les écrits des notables critiques d'art de l'époque et le passage brusque à une nouvelle iconographie, de la part de Matta, nous montrent deux manifestations opposées de l'art. Giving priority to the research qualitative broach, this work methodology priviliged an approaching and a deeper contact with the relationed subjects: the Residential Complex living families, the neighborhood and the professionals whose worked for it building and implantation. Through the interviews, the researcher observations, field diary recordings, it was possible to make the Residencial Complex historical reconstitution and the apprehension of significant elements that interfere in these people life quality. Along our investigation, it was possible to detect that an absence of a dwelling politic, well like the non-articulation between State and City interventions, carry on consequences that affect directly the Popular Residential Complex urban insertion. We understand that the public interventions in dwelling must be articulated with other urban politics, taking as a reference the local reality, the population and city features. We also believe that these politics can include the social work, contributing to the urban insertion of these people. / Este estudo foi desenvolvido com o objetivo de refletir sobre os reflexos da Política Habitacional na qualidade de vida e inserção urbana das famílias moradoras do Conjunto Habitacional Roberto Panzarin , construído entre 1994 e 1997,localizado no bairro Porto Seguro, no município de Itatiba, interior do Estado de São Paulo. A fundamentação teórica baseou-se nas concepções de território, microterritório e inserção urbana de autores como: Milton Santos, Dirce Koga, Ermínia Maricato e Cibele Rezek, possibilitando a perspectiva histórica, social e política. Priorizando uma abordagem qualitativa da pesquisa, a metodologia utilizada privilegiou uma aproximação e maior contato com os sujeitos envolvidos: as famílias moradoras do Conjunto Habitacional,a vizinhança do entorno e profissionais que trabalharam na sua implantação. Através das entrevistas, observações da pesquisadora, registros em diário de campo, foi possível uma reconstituição histórica desse Conjunto Habitacional e a apreensão de elementos significativos que interferem na qualidade de vida dessa população. No decorrer de nossa investigação, foi possível detectar que a ausência, no município, de uma política habitacional, assim como a falta de articulação nas intervenções estaduais e municipais, acarretam conseqüências que afetam diretamente a inserção urbana da população dos Conjuntos Habitacionais Populares. Entendemos que as intervenções públicas na habitação devem estar articuladas com outras políticas públicas, tomando como referência a realidade local, as características da população e do município, acreditamos que também podem incluir o trabalho social que contribui para a inserção urbana dessa população.

Nossa Senhora do Aterro : Florianópolis a partir das crônicas ligeiras de Beto Stodieck (1971-1980)

Temos aqui um estudo de caso onde se exercita, dentro do partido teórico-metodológico da história cultural do urbano, a aplicação do conceito ‘trajetória social’ aos estudos históricos, Visa estabelecer as condições que possibilitaram ao jornalista Beto Stodieck assumir a condição de porta-voz de uma parcela dos jovens da elite florianopolitana, cuja posição apoiava-se principalmente no capital cultural e social – acesso à educação, à cultura erudita e nas redes de relações sociais – herdados de família. Centrando a atenção num indivíduo e na formação do seu ‘ponto de vista’ - entendido como o universo das posições no interior do qual o agente estava situado e onde se definiu sua ação – o registro das transformações morfológicas e culturais, conforme foram registradas nas crônicas diárias, ajudou a buscar a cidade real através das representações formuladas por Beto Stodieck. A análise dos escritos e das práticas sociais ali retratadas apontou que o alcance da coluna social desse jornalista, tratada aqui como um conjunto de crônicas sociais ligeiras, foi resultado de três características fundamentais: o estilo do escritor; a capilaridade e importância social do veículo (principalmente o jornal O Estado); e a multiplicidade de temas ligados ao cotidiano de leitores das mais diversas posições sociais. / This work presents a study of case, within the party theoretical and methodological of the urban cultural history, in which applies of the concept ‘social trajectory’ to historical studies; seeking to identify the conditions that allowed the journalist Beto Stodieck become the spokesperson of a portion of the young elite of Florianópolis, whose position was supported mainly in the cultural and social capital – access to education, to erudite culture and networks of relationships social - inherited the family. Focusing on a individual and the making of their 'point of view' - understood as the universe of positions within which the agent was located and defined his action – the record of morphological and cultural transformations, as were registered in chronic daily, helped to understand the real city, through the representations made by Beto Stodieck. The analysis of the writings and social practices there portrayed, pointed out that the reach of the social columns of the journalist, treated here as a set of ‘slight social-chronicles’, was the result of three basic features: the style of the writer, the capillary and social importance of vehicle (mainly the newspaper O Estado), and the multiplicity of themes related to the daily lives of readers within different social positions.
