Os modelos de realeza em São Luís, segundo Joinville / Royalty models in Saint Louis, according to Joinville

Branco, Marília Pugliese 02 August 2011 (has links)
The goal of this work is to identify the royalty models in Louis IX, king of France from 1226 to 1270. The basis of analysis is mostly Jean de Joinvilles work named Histoire de Saint Louis. During this analysis, we verify the peculiarity of the source, a mirror of prince, medieval gender whose goal is to establish an ideal of royalty. Louis IX is traced as a king-pilgrim, a crusade that enlarged the king of God on the hearth. He is identified with the kingdom of Christ and the Imitatio Christi. In that work, Joinville, seneschal of Champagne, described the main facts of the kings life, recovered memories thirty years after his death. Written from 1305 to 1309, by request of Joan of Navarra (1270-1305), Philip Le Beauxwife (1268-1314), his goal would be to value the holy words and good accomplishments of the king, Saint Louis. We chosen that source mostly for its trace of private authority, since Joinville, as laic seneschal, friend and confident of the king, described, from a privileged point of view, a long period of his king and lords government. The strong alliance with the Church would be one of the main traces of the Capetingean monarchy. The Church was the master piece of the feudalism, as well as its ideological support. It was the main mediator between the king and his populus, by giving him the power towards the kingdom through the ceremony of crownement. King-symbol of the French Medieval Ages, Louis IX grouped elements of the three social functions of the XIth century, according to Adalberon de Laon: the oratores, the bellatores, and the laboratores. He was canonized thirty seven years after his death, supporting the legacy of Philip Le Beauxs capetingean dynasty.

Marín Ureña, José Manuel 21 November 2003 (has links)
Through this investigation we try to understand the sense that the image of the angel, as much in its celestial side as in the infernal, has in poets of the 27 ' s writings. For development of this assignment the estab lishment of theoretical principles with regard to the figure of the angel was necessary. Those principles are clarfied in the first chapter of our study: differentation between the judeochristian model of the angel and its textual formulation; determination of the true literary nature of the divine spirits; concretion of the analysis space. Due to the pair tradition/vanguard is one of the characteristic feature of the poetic group of 27, the angelic powers are studied not only considering other contemporary authors' works of the writers of 27 but also directing the glance towards the past. This way, we make a detailed revision of the image of the angels and devils in our literary history from Medieval Age to the present time, going to some excellent angelic manifestations of other countries. After this trip, we advance into the codification of the figure of the angel in the most recognized ten authors of the generation of 27, without forgetting the contributions of other personalities that conform the denominated surroundings of 27. We study the materializa tions of the angel in all varieties of genre practiced by these authors (poetry, narrative, theater, essay) throughout all its artistic creation with the purpose of obtaining a total and rigourous knowledge. Through an individualized analysis of the angel in each one of the poets of 27 we will verify how these combining tradition, vanguard, and personal worlds, elaborated a literary angelical program in wich all the expressive varieties of the ultra earth beings were contained. Examining the literary development of the angel in generation of 27, we can say that these writers found in the winged spirits an instrument to catch, respecting the essence of the angel, their particular ultrareality or trascendente to wich to aspire, as much if this level was in they themselves as if it was in surrounding reality. Cernuda and its masculine model; Salinas and Guillén' s search of the truth behind the appearance; Prados and bis strip to the inapren sible, or Alberti with the dramatized accomplishment of his conflict. The angel, therefore, continued being emblem of the invisible, or of wich only each poet was able to catch.

Sound towers : evoking the musical dimension of Gaudí

Hollett, Philip January 2002 (has links)
Antoni Gaudi was the architect of the Sagrada Familia from 1883 to 1926. Over this period of time he prepared the overall design and supervised the construction of the Nativity facade. One of Gaudi's main design objectives was to include tubular bells in the tall slender towers. It has been said that through his sound studies for these bells, Gaudi developed his musical sentiments most fully. Through the sound of bells, accompanied by song, he imagined a festive environment around the temple. These considerations might be seen as reflecting the overall spirit of the time, as Catalonia was in effect experiencing a cultural rebirth known as the Renaixenca . Originating with the call of the poets, this time of exuberant growth for Catalonia was one that was built upon the rebirth of language. As a result, language through poetry continued to be celebrated throughout the century, particularly through annual poetic contests called the Jocs Florals. This paper studies the facade of the Nativity as a expression of this culturally exuberant time by exploring how the Jocs Florals, and poetry in general, may have played a role in shaping its form and sound. The study also acknowledges the fact that Gaudi's inspiration for his design was derived from symbolism associated with the Catholic liturgy. The result is architecture that might be described as a union of religious and cultural symbolism, yet ultimately its festive expression is a poetic one. As such, the Sagrada Familia might be described as a celebration that is a call to gathering.

This research aims to highlight and analyze these features seeking to understand them and respond to guiding question "What is the function and meaning of this narrative for the ancient Israelites?". Justify the search in the search for meaning of a sacred history of antiquity that inspired and instructed the people - Jews, and became so important that was recorded in its main holy book. From Mircea Eliade, Gilbert Durand, Joseph Campbell, Arnold Van Gennep, Gershom Sholem, among others, traveled a path where a reading is made of three Bible stories. The methodology used is that of literature with a qualitative approach with reference to the Hebrew Bible and books specializing in myth and symbol, watch out for an analysis supported by the anthropological school of religion. As results stand out: A scenario redundant - a couple who is in a well - alluding to a microcosm and refers the image center, as Eliade - the navel of the world as well, which draws the two complementary forces (male and female) that promote the creation, a plot that evolves into an outcome - an alien who presents after a long journey stops and rests in a well. A woman finds. There is a dialogue between them. There offering water. The woman returns to her home and reported the incident. The alien remains in the well. Relatives of the woman they meet abroad and invites him to join. The alien remains some time with them. Is a marriage; The myth of androgen as primary justification for marriage in Judaism; The journey in search of the bride; The symbolism of the meeting; The mitocrítica these Bible stories. In any way disregard the many other forms of analysis and interpretation previously promoted by researchers, theologians and biblical scholars. This is just a glimpse into the object of the meeting of the wives of the Biblical patriarchs. A look influenced by theorists of symbolic hermeneutics, giving its contribution to the understanding of something that is bigger than any one mind may have already guessed, is that the religious phenomenon and its various forms to submit to the man. O estrangeiro permanece no poço.

January 2015 (has links)
abstract: The temple of the Sagrada Familia, by Gaudí, is nowadays one of the most emblematic buildings of Barcelona, and the most visited monument in Spain. Despite the high popularity surrounding the name of the architect, his great work, still unfinished, has divided public opinion in the city for decades and has starred since its inception in a complex and paradoxical cultural phenomenon. My object of study consists of four major novels of modern Spanish narrative (Antagonía [1973-81], by Luis Goytisolo, La ciudad de los prodigios [1986], by Eduardo Mendoza, Campo cerrado [1943], by Max Aub and El amante bilingüe [1990], by Juan Marsé): all of them stand out because of the interartistic dialogue they establish with the famous building, which is referred to more or less extensively in their plots. The study will prove that the textual references to the Sagrada Familia in each particular case contain important interpretive keys that illuminate the discursive characterization of the texts while at the same time opening a new avenue for reading them. To this end, I start by situating my object of interest within the studies on the literary city, a field where Barcelona has a unique tradition of reflecting on its novel. Then I trace the cultural reception of the Sagrada Familia as evidenced in literary testimonies of the early twentieth century, and continue by documenting the presence of the building in modern, post-Civil War narrative. After that, I explain the conceptual notions and terms on the phenomenon of the intersection between architecture and literature, which will guide the analysis of the texts. Finally, I carry out the literary analysis of the four aforementioned novels. The Sagrada Familia, as well as showing itself to be a versatile metafictional emblem at four different times in modern Spanish narrative, illustrates the possibilities of a literary analysis that takes into account the architectural component of the texts in order to illuminate their comprehension and their characterization. / Dissertation/Thesis / Doctoral Dissertation Spanish 2015

Métrica, proporção e luz: arquitetura sagrada moderna no Brasil / Metric, proportion and light: modern sacred architecture in Brazil

Pedro Alberto Palma dos Santos 16 April 2015 (has links)
The research focuses on modern religious architecture produced in Brazil, its history and its process of renewal throughout the twentieth century and the natural light as the protagonist of this space and the use of proportioning techniques in plastic composition of the churches as effective to mobilize human perception. A Market for Barcelona

Layne, Jared Demetrius 15 September 2016 (has links)
This thesis confronts the possibility of an architecture which limits and reveals, freedom for a way to live, for the activities of man which are vital to a good life. An architecture which is investigated and projected through making. Architecture Separates and makes Distinct, while finding meaningful connection. The work of drawing here attempts to project an architecture which is vital to man, by providing a connection to the activities of Man, in which the spirit of their beginning is recaptured and renewed through a reimagining of the Institutions of Man. Where a sense of Wonder is imperative, and the sense of the eternal in architecture is cultivated. One where a renewal is possible and sense of the cosmos is more evident. On the Threshold of 'Where the desire to express meets the possible' (Kahn) using architectural form. Awareness What is the form? Beginning with the room / Master of Architecture

[en] A NARRATIVE OF THE HISTORY OF THE HOLY SCRIPTURES DIFFUSION: THE ACTION OF BIBLE SOCIE-TIES IN BRAZIL / [pt] UMA HISTÓRIA DA DIFUSÃO DAS ESCRITURAS SAGRADAS: A ATUAÇÃO DAS SOCIEDADES BÍBLICAS NO BRASIL

ACYR DE GERONE JUNIOR 02 January 2019 (has links)
[en] This thesis has been developed with aim of analyzing the the historical journey of the Biblical Societies in Brazil, from the point of view of the diffusion of the Holy Scriptures. Livro didático e conhecimento histórico: uma história do saber escolar / Textbooks and historical knowledge: a history of school culture

Bittencourt, Circe Maria Fernandes 18 June 1993 (has links)
The history of the Brazilian textbook, in this research, is presented from the constitution of the National State, with the creation of public schools until the first decade of the twentieth century, with the expansion of schools under the republican regime. In this trajectory, we follow the construction of school knowledge organized by the educational power, divided between the civil state and the Catholic Church. The textbook, amid the disputes between the civil and religious powers, came to occupy a fundamental place in the realization of the educational projects of both tendencies. The research then presents the growth of the production of the school book and its transformation into an important commodity for the publishing companies that allied themselves with the policies of the State in the spreading of a cultural production that tended to expand. The textbook, in a second part of the research, is analyzed by the construction of school discipline. It selects, as a case study, the books of History of Brazil and of Universal History in the process of articulation carried out by the authors between historical and erudite religious knowledge in the production of historical school content. From the process of making the textbook and its different agents, the third part of the research presents how this cultural object was used by teachers and students in different school spaces, identifying the problems that involved the teaching and learning process of this period.
