Törneman, Janna, Dagérus, Therese January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to explore young people's participation and experience of participation in child protection investigations. The study was conducted using qualitative methodology and is based on interviews with four adolescents aged 13-19 years old who have experience of child protection investigations. Our chosen method has made it possible for us get a deeper understanding of young people's own experiences of participation. In order to analyze the material we have used Shiers (2001) model of children's participation, symbolic interactionism, and some concepts relating to shame and pride. The results show that all adolescents have had the opportunity to be heard during the investigations, but it is different to what degree they feel that someone has listened to them. Two of the young people have been involved in their investigation, been listened to and have had impact on the decisions taken. The results indicate that it does not seem to be the external factors, such as how many meetings they have had, or what quality it was on the information, that matters if the social worker did not manage to convey to the young people that what they told was of any importance. The results also show that all young people want to be involved in the investigations but that they often experience some obstacles. Such an obstacle may be that you do not feel that what you say is important. Another obstacle may be that you have too many negative experiences of social services in the past. All young people point to the importance of having a good and close relationship with their social secretary to overcome such obstacles.

Granström, Isabell, Högberg, Sofia January 2011 (has links)

This analysis did not only show how they perceive their role as a father and their masculinity but also the way they feel about the help they got from social services and other institutions. Mermer, Arshin, Ehsani Andersson, Helena January 2013 (has links)
This study analyzes the court of appeals work on judging immediate care (6 § LVU) by the child´s best from 10 court cases. This study has been reviewing 10 court cases and reviewing the court of appeals applicable laws in their decisions on interlocutory order within LVU. The material than have been analyzed consists of immediate care of children, and the concept of the best interests derived from the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The legal sanctions includes when a state signs a convention, which Sweden has. This means that Sweden is at their disposal to offer all children within its territorial limits, up to 18 years may take part of the rights set down in the Convention of the Rights of the Child. This means that all decisions relating to the individual child, should always be taken with respect to the best interest of the child, when a child for varoius reasons end up in a lawsiut. The concept of the best interest of the child are vague and abstract because it is not clearly defined. So when authorities and courts come into contact with that kind of cases, they need to adapt the contents of the convention, to the individual childs specific situation. This can be considered to be a complex task.

Att arbeta i socialtjänsten : En kvalitativ studie om arbetsorganisatoriska hinder och möjligheter i socialsekreterares arbete / To work in the social services : A qualitative study about organizational impediments and opportunities in the work of social workers

Selling, Mia, Nordlund, Linn January 2015 (has links)
In recent years, the current work environment has increasingly affected social services. Working conditions have gotten worse while the workload has become higher (Karlsson & Folkesson, 2014). Therefor this study focuses on examining social workers work situation and if there is work related stress based on how the organization functions. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach in which semi-structured interviews were conducted. The result shows that there are both impediments and opportunities in the work of the social workers. There are experiences among the social workers of heavy workload and staffing levels being too low. An important condition, which proved to be positive, is that social workers are able to plan their work relatively freely and thus be flexible. The result also shows that stress is experienced primarily due to lack of time and high documentation requirements. Flexibility of work was experienced by the social workers as an aid in stress reduction. The sum of these factors indicates that the problem should be lifted and further worked with to reduce the negative trends in social services.
