"En sko passar inte allas fötter" : En fallstudie kring medlemmars upplevelser av träningskortsanvändande

Almström, Emma, Lundin, Maja January 2014 (has links)
Physical exercise is a trend that continues to grow, especially at the gym, but there are still members that do not use their training card in full. The overall aim of this study was therefore to investigate infrequent member’s experience of their training card. To answer this, focus was on motives to card purchase and perceived opportunities and difficulties of using the training card. The data was collected at IKSU trough a group interview with four managers within the organization, a questionnaire replied by 39 infrequent members and of those 11 individual interviews. The results showed that the motives differed between the informants but the main was the physical health. The three factors that were identified as affecting were frame-, facility- and personal factors. The conclusions drawn was that training facilities can develop procedures to capture their infrequent members in three areas; the occasion for the card purchase, customized training card and follow-up.

Blomqvist, Daniela, Fagerkull, Felicia January 2017 (has links)
Physical activity was natural back in time, but as it looks today, we live in an environment that makes it quite easy to sit still. Even though we know that exercise is good, motivation is required to get started. The big challenge is how to build asustainable motivation. The overall aim of this study was therefore to study motivating factors that are important related to exercise and work out, among the members on training center IKSU. The purpose was also to study why the members choose IKSU. This was answered by collecting quantitative data by a survey that was posted on IKSU:s Facebook page. The results showed that the main motives for exercise is to strive for good physical shape and well-beeing. The reason why members choose IKSU is because they offer various training opportunities and have competent training instructors. The conclusion drawn was that intrinsic motivation was the main motive why people exercise at IKSU.

Exploring the Role of a Strength Training Facility on Community Development: Cree Nation of Chisasibi

Randall, Andrew January 2016 (has links)
Community development (CD) is viewed as a way to improve the social, physical, organizational and economic outcomes of a community. The purpose of this study was to explore the role of a strength training facility on CD and provide an insight into its impact on the community. Qualitative research was conducted by two data collection exercises. The first was a 12-week period, while the second was one week long. A segmented thematic analysis was used to explore the data provided by three target groups and participants’ observations. The findings provided insight into the facility’s contribution to CD in particular, noting that a strength training facility can influence personal, economic, social, environmental and organizational outcomes within a community. The research contributes to the existing literature in leisure by providing evidence of CD from a remote First Nations community. The research reveals how arrangements for physical activities can improve the welfare of a community.

Comparing air quality in a training facility : What effects do air balancing have for carbon dioxide reduction?

Gustafsson, Dennis January 2017 (has links)
The link between a good indoor climate and environmental impacts e.g. global warming and different pollution in the air is something that are important today and will certainly become more important in the future with increased energy prices and new laws. Too keep the indoor air quality within limits is it important to have a good and competitive ventilationsystem. The ventilations function is mainly to supply fresh air and to remove polluted air from the room. It’s important that the ventilation system works as it should so that the indoor air quality is as good as possible. The lack of good ventilation can create several symptoms such as headaches, nausea, fatigue, poor concentration etc. In Sweden are ventilation control mandatory for every newly produced building and this control are repetitive usually every 3-6 years for some types of buildings.   The foundation of this thesis is from a previous degree project performed by a master’s student in 2013 named Ander Barroeta with supervision of Magnus Mattsson and Taghi Karimipanah. The thesis was to improve and design a ventilation system in two rooms at a training facility named Friskis & Svettis in Gävle so that the CO2 level did not exceed 1000 ppm.   In this thesis was the main goal to do similar measurements as the previous thesis and compare the results to see what difference air balancing has done to the ventilation system. Field measurements were performed at the training facility were the focus was on carbon dioxide but also on other parameters such as temperature, humidity and air velocity so that air exchange rate could be calculated. With these parameters can evaluations be made to see if air balancing of the ventilation system made any difference in indoor air quality.       During measurements in one of the training rooms where spinning is exercised was carbon dioxide levels up to 3300 ppm measured which is above the recommended indoor limit at 1000 ppm. If that room should be design to not exceed 1000 ppm must the air exchange rate increase from 6.3 h-1 to 35.1 h-1.

Äldre träningsmedlemmars fysiska aktivitet under covid-19 pandemin

Spennare, Nina January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of the study was to investigate how older active fitness club members' physical activity was affected by one facility’s adaptations subsequent to national recommendations during the covid-19 pandemic. Interviews and a non-participatory observation were used as data collection methods. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the facility's site manager and with four elderly fitness club members. A conventional content analysis was used to analyze data. Results showed that facility adaptations specific to the elderly members were implemented primarily to avoid attracting them to the facility. The elderly members found it difficult to maintain their regular exercise routines outside the facility, which resulted in a reduced exercise. However, elderly members were physically active to some extent outside the facility, mainly by walking and with support of a television fitness program. In conclusion, elderly fitness club members experienced difficulties in maintaining the same exercise routines outside the facility as before the covid-19 adaptations. Scheduled activities, support and encouragement from a fitness instructor as well as the social context were important factors to maintain exercise routines.

Gymnastikens Hus : Ett referenskoncept för anpassade gymnastikhallar / Gymnastics Centre : A concept for a customized training facility

Rolander, Paula, Westman, Fredrik January 2014 (has links)
This project is based on a request from the Swedish federation of gymnastics to create a concept for a customized training facility that could be used as a reference in discussions with gymnastics associations and politicians. A user study of the gymnastic disciplines has been done and thereafter used to motivate the formation of the facility. An evaluation of existing facilities will set the base of what the new facility should contain and also have to improve. The work has led to a report and a digital model of the facility. The model is presented as architectural drawings and visualizations.
