Silva, Flávia Costa da 01 April 2010 (has links)
This present work, inserted in the research line called formation, knowledge and professional development linked to the post graduation program in Education at the Santa Maria Federal University, aims to understand the conceptions about drugs among a group of academical
students who are in a period of training for teachers. The analysis is guided by the perspective of Michel Foucault about the conformation of the discursive and no discursive practices. Also is made a brief comment about the concept that permeates educational practices on drugs. With the
purpose of contributing for emergency of education practices founded in a no prohibitionist point of
view, was introduced the experience of harm reduction program on the municipal office of health in Santa Maria developed during the period between july 2002 and march 2009.

The Design Charrette as model for training in collaborative designIneichen, Julien 18 February 2016 (has links)
The complexity level of challenges that face contemporary societies requires the development of solutions based on combinations of skills from multiple actors. This collective intelligence emerges from the capacity of actors to carry out projects in which their actions are highly interdependent. The traditional pedagogical system faces structural limitations in training students in this interdependent practice that we characterize as collaborative design. Despite the fact that studio-based learning model is mostly used in an individual authoring approach, this singular system which typify the architecture studies for the last 300 years, reveal a highly collective learning process. In this thesis, we argue that the Design Charrette is an evolution of this model which, by reconfiguring some of its parameters, has become a proper approach for collaborative design. Through a historical and theoretical anchor of the Design Charrette, a typology of its contemporary practices, and through action research conducted within 3 specific cases, this research identifies the potential strengths and limitations of the Design Charrette as a model for training students in collaborative design. Among the findings, this work highlights some key actors roles and governance configurations proper to mediate the collaborative process. It draws attention that appropriability, exoticism and collective interaction of the system structures, are key factors to catalyse collaborative design process. Finally, this work point to the fact that, despite the widespread practice of the Design Charrette, its specifics settings need to be better known to support effectively collaborative design process.

The Effectiveness of an Online Workshop on Behavior Management as a Professional Development Tool for TeachersKuriyan, Aparajita B 03 March 2015 (has links)
The current study examines the effects of an online workshop pertaining to classroom behavior management on teacher self-efficacy, attitudes, motivation, knowledge, and practices. In addition, information about teacher utilization of the Internet, their opinions about professional development, and experiences with classroom management were collected. Participants included 57 1st through 5th grade special and regular education teachers. Eligible teachers were those who teach an academic subject and had at least one child in the classroom they considered as disruptive. Teachers were randomized to either a training or waitlist group. Classroom observations of teacher practices and questionnaires were utilized. Teachers in the training group participated in two assessment points, baseline and post-workshop, and received access to the online course immediately following the baseline assessment. Teachers in the waitlist group participated in three assessment points, baseline, post-workshop, and follow-up, and received access to the online course immediately following the post-workshop assessment. Findings show that all teachers had access to the Internet at home and at school and used it on a daily basis. The majority of teachers indicated having some past training on all the techniques that were presented in the online workshop. All teachers expressed satisfaction with the workshop, indicating that it should be offered again. Post-workshop, findings showed significant group differences in knowledge with a large effect for the training group scoring higher than the waitlist group on a quiz. Secondly, group differences in self-efficacy, knowledge, and attitudes with teachers’ past-training as a moderator, was examined. Past-training was not found to be a significant moderator of self-efficacy, knowledge, or attitudes. However, the main effect for training group was significant for attitudes. In addition, teacher attitudes, but not knowledge and self-efficacy, significantly predicted motivation to implement. Next, the moderating effect of barriers on motivation and classroom management skill implementation was examined. Barriers were not found to be a significant moderator. Lastly, the training group was observed to be significantly more effective at giving commands compared to the waitlist group. The current study demonstrates the potential of a low-intensity online workshop on classroom management to enhance the accessibility of teacher professional development.

Previous issue date: 2009-08-27 / The globalized, neoliberal and postmodern society market imposes its law treating human beings as a commodity. As a result of this perversity, there is an exclusion of a large number of poor and miserable people. Adding to this, there are serious environmental problems that affect the Earth. We reached the limits of globalization and realize the prediction of the transition to a different sociocultural formation that tries to rediscover our human condition. Ethics is one of the central topics in the humanization of people and in resolving the economic and social crisis. So the Workshop of Philosophy in Full-Time Public School becomes an important space for the teaching-learning process of a human life. In their curriculum organization, it works "Ethics" as the guiding axle and main content. In the research, we made two points: how far does the Workshop of Philosophy contributes to the ethical formation of citizen-students? And what is its contribution to the other curriculum components in working with this theme? This study is characterized as qualitative research, to delimit the study of fact. Research subjects were 05 teachers of 8th grade and 10 students and 05 of the 8th grade and 05 of the 1st grade in high school. On the way, we looked for theoretical training in the ethics of human beings at all times emphasizing the indispensable concepts. We listed the ethical principles based on our laws; we explored the concept of globalization, its impacts on education and the various answers to these, emerging new paradigms. The data collection was through documentary analysis, interviews and observations of school environments. From the data, we have two categories for analysis: training, ethics and citizenship of students and the cross subject approach by teachers of the 8th grade. The analysis revealed the contributions of the workshop for the training of ethics-citizen students and their influence on some subjects. However, there is the impact of neoliberal policies and the need for continuous training of teachers to the necessary paradigm change. Therefore this research tries to contribute to the dissemination of the work on the theme by offering new cross Ethics locus for learning practical "workshop", and also providing subsidies to encourage the formation and practice of
teachers about the subject.

Workshop 1994 in Zittau ihren Anfang nahm.

An essay on the Living Workshop pedagogical approach in creative activities at the leisure time centerHahne, Linda January 2020 (has links)
In this scientific essay, I reflect on children's free creation within the creative activities in Swedish school and at leisure time centers based on my experiences as a Living Workshop pedagogue. I start from an event where a student expresses that during our creative sessions we "only make feelings" when the child and another pedagogue were allowed to create exactly what the child wanted. It made me think about how much I, as an educator control the students in their creation and what free creation really means. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate what my role as a Living Workshop pedagogue and leisure time center pedagogue is in the creative activity. My reflections are based on Vygotsky and May's theories of creativity and imagination and examine how the view of creative activity within the school can look like based on a dissertation on how teachers in aesthetic subjects and principals legitimize aesthetic activity. I present the current theories in Living Workshop pedagogy and reflect on the concept of free creation based on different theories. Furthermore, I reflect on what restrictions in relation to children's free creation there may be within Living Workshop pedagogy, as well as what restrictions there may be within the school and the leisure time center's activities linked to the current governing documents.

Achieving higher quality in digital workshops : Through the eyes of ERP-consultantsLundberg, Sophie, Boras, Anna-Maria January 2021 (has links)
The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the world globally and the way humans conduct their work today. Face-to-face meetings have since before the pandemic been the most standard and effective way to do business, but due to the recommendations from the Swedish Public Health Agency workshops conducted by ERP-consultants does now have to be executed digitally. The transition from physical to digital meetings has imposed major challenges for consultants such as replicating the communication, lack of engagement and a higher risk for becoming fatigued. However, there is little to no research from an ERP-consultant's perspective on how to facilitate and conduct workshops as well as how it has now been affected by the ongoing global pandemic. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to gain an understanding of workshops conducted by ERP-consultants, comparing the process of a traditional workshop to digital workshops. In addition, understanding which strengths and weaknesses can be found with traditional and digital workshops. The study also aims to create guidelines that will help ERP-consultants to achieve higher quality in digital workshops. The data was gathered via semi-structured interviews with five ERP-consultants and was split into two stages; first stage aimed at identifying strength and weaknesses, further the second stage of interviews aimed at evaluating the created guidelines. From the interviews several strengths and weaknesses were identified, and the weaknesses acted as a foundation for the creation of the five guidelines. In conclusion, 1) there are strengths in traditional workshops that are lost in digital workshops, and 2) there are added strengths in digital workshops that could not be fulfilled in traditional workshops. Lastly, the study found that the traditional workshop and the face-to-face communication can not be fully replaced by the digital as it is human nature to connect and socialize with other people.
