Motiv för daglig verksamhet : Ur några föreståndares perspektiv

<p>This study aims to explore purposes of daily workshops for persons with disabilities. The method used was qualitative interviews. An inductive research strategy was used. Half-structured interviews with six managers of daily workshops were carried out, wherein they expressed their intentions with the daily workshops and the reasons for people to participate. The interviews were analysed with Antonovsky´s salutogenetic perspective,<strong> </strong>in which Sense of Coherence, SOC is a main concept, and with the normalisation principle. The study indicates that the managers aim to create a good, rather than a normalizing work situation for their participants. The main result is that the managers want the work to be meaningful, appreciated and for the benefit of others.</p>

Lantbrukares riskmedvetenhet i yrkesutövningen : ur ett handledarperspektiv / Farmer´s risk awareness in the profession : from a supervisory perspective

Folkhälsa berör många samhällsområden och därför är det av vikt att människor i olika yrkeskategorier är medvetna och väl insatta i sin arbetssituation och dess inverkan på hälsan. Jordbruksyrket är rankat som ett av de tre farligaste yrkena och därför beslutade regeringen att ett projekt vid namn Säkert Bondförnuft skulle startas. Projektet koncentrerades till att få lantbruksföretag att vidta åtgärder som leder till förbättrad säkerhet i företaget. På Lantbrukarnas riksförbund, LRF arbetar handledare som informerar lantbrukare om de arbetsmiljöproblem som finns genom utbildningen Säkert Bondförnuft. Syftet med studien är att studera LRF:s handledares uppfattningar av lantbrukares riskmedvetenhet i deras arbetsmiljö. Därutöver studeras hur handledarna upplever lantbrukarnas mottaglighet av information gällande säkerhet i arbetsmiljön som tillämpats på kurstillfällena inom projektet Säkert Bondförnuft. Då intresset låg i att ta reda på handledares uppfattningar valdes kvalitativ ansats med intervjuer av fem handledare som insamlingsmetod. Vid intervjuerna användes en semikonstruerad intervjumanual. Intervjuerna analyserades med kvalitativ, induktiv innehållsanalys. I resultatet från studien anser handledarna att de lantbrukare som deltar i utbildningen är mer benägna att upptäcka de risker som kan finnas på arbetsplatsen och anses vara mer mottagliga för information. Studien har betydelse för framtidens aktiva människor inom jordbrukssektorn. Genom denna studie har tankar och åsikter från handledare i LRF:s regi belysts när de genom projektet Säkert Bondförnuft utbildat personer i lantbruksföretag att vidta möjliga åtgärder som leder till en förbättrad säkerhet i företaget. Med hänsyn till de resultat som framgått i studien kan den i framtiden hjälpa till att utveckla kursverksamhet för lantbrukare. Förhoppningen är att materialet från studien kan användas i dessa sammanhang. / Public health concerns many areas of society and therefore it is important that people of different professions are aware and familiar with their work situation and its impact on health. The profession of agriculture is ranked as one of the three most dangerous occupations, and therefore the government has decided that a project called Farmers Safe Common Sense should start. The project concentrates on how to get farming businesses to take actions which would lead to improved security in their enterprises. Through Farmers Safe Common Sense, the supervisors at the Farmers' Association, LRF, inform farmers about problems that may exist with work environment. The purpose of the study is to study how the supervisors of LRF perceive the farmers' risk awareness in their working environment. In addition, studies on how supervisors perceive farmers' receptivity of information regarding safety in the work environment, as applied to lectures in the project Farmers safe Common sense, was made. As the interest was in finding out how the supervisor's perceptions were, interviews with a qualitative approach were chosen as a collection method. A semi-constructed interview guide was used at the interviews consisting of five supervisor´s. The interviews were analyzed by a qualitative inductive content analysis. The results of the study showed that the supervisors consider the farmers who participated in the program to be more likely to discover the risks that may exist in the workplace, and are also considered to be more receptive to the information. The study has significance for the future of the people who are active in agriculture. Through this study, the thoughts and opinions of the supervisors of LRF have been highlighted when the project Farmers Safe Common sense educated people from farming businesses, so that they can take feasible steps that lead to improved safety in the company. Given the results shown in this study it can help developing training courses for farmers in the future and it is also hoped that the material from the study can be used in these contexts.

Clovis Lithic Debitage from Excavation Area 8 at the Gault Site (41BL323), Texas: Form and Function

This dissertation focuses on two portions of the Clovis lithic assemblage recovered from Excavation Area 8 at the Gault site (41BL323) located in central Texas. Gault is a quarry-camp visited by hunter-gatherer groups for at least 13,000 years, with Paleoindian, Archaic, and Late Prehistoric occupations. Freshwater seep springs, a diverse array of floral and faunal resources, and an abundant outcrop of high-quality toolstone at the site created an ideal location for people who lived a mobile hunting-andgathering way of life. The site is currently the only locale with two stratigraphically separate Clovis components-a lower geologic unit designated 3a and an upper unit designated 3b. Both are represented in Excavation Area 8 where, in the spring of 2000, Texas A&M University (TAMU) excavated 22 1-m2 contiguous units. For this research, 3375 complete flakes were analyzed individually to characterize Clovis debitage as represented at Excavation Area 8 and to establish if there are technological differences between the debitage assemblages recovered from Units 3a and 3b. The two Clovis components are quite similar from a technological standpoint. Minor differences appear to be related to site formation processes and intensity of site use. The second objective was to determine if Clovis debitage has diagnostic technological traits that allow confident assignment to the Clovis era. To test whether Clovis debitage is distinctive, it was compared to debitage recovered from later cultural components at the site. No evidence of a true blade technology was observed in the post- Clovis Paleoindian or Early Archaic debitage assemblages, although biface manufacture continued through time. Technologically, few differences were observed between the Clovis, post-Clovis Paleoindian, and Early Archaic debitage related to biface reduction. While overshot flakes may be diagnostic of Clovis biface technology, biface thinning flakes and other non-distinctive debitage showed few differences between components. During debitage analysis pieces were selected in an attempt to identify edgemodified tools. Low- and high-power usewear analysis was employed to make determinations concerning the cultural modification or use of flakes. This study concluded post-depositional damage affected most of the collection and there was minimal usewear-or minimal observable usewear-on flakes. Taphonomic processes interfered to a great extent with drawing firm inferences on tool use and possibly hindered the identification of tools. Of the 3375 pieces of Clovis debitage originally analyzed, 26 specimens were classified as tools based mainly on invasive, patterned flaking with less reliance on microscopic use indicators. Of these, inference of use was assigned to nine tools.

Towards scalable training : narrowing the research-practice gap in the treatment of eating disorders

Empirically supported treatments (ESTs) now exist for a variety of psychological disorders; however, few individuals have access to these treatments and even fewer receive them in well delivered form. This has been termed the research-practice gap. It is likely that a combination of factors contribute to individuals not receiving good quality ESTs. One major reason is the limited availability of effective training in these treatments. Although many therapists wish to learn such treatments, they seldom have the opportunity as training relies on scarce expert resources and is costly. Furthermore, relatively little is known about the effectiveness of this method or how best to train clinicians: despite having evidence-based treatments, there are no evidence-based trainings. This dissertation examined one example of an EST - enhanced cognitive behavior therapy for eating disorders (CBT-E) - with the overarching aim of evaluating both existing, and commonly accepted, training methods, as well as, newly developed more scalable ones. How best to train clinicians in CBT for eating disorders has not been investigated previously. The Kirkpatrick training evaluation framework was adopted to guide the studies. Chapter One provided an overview of the research-practice gap with a particular emphasis on the obstacles faced in training therapists. Chapter Two reviewed the literature on training in ESTs and highlighted gaps in the research evidence and areas for improvement in future studies. An important conclusion was that, although studies varied in design and the precise form and content of the training investigated, results were mostly consistent in indicating that knowledge and skills tended to improve following training. However, the outcome measures used to assess training were often poorly described with unknown psychometric properties. Perhaps most importantly the lack of clearly defined competence cut-points made interpretation difficult. In addition, much of the training investigated had limitations in terms of scalability. Chapters Three, Four and Five, aimed to overcome some of these difficulties and provided a series of studies investigating training in CBT-E. Chapter Three employed qualitative methods to investigate trainees' reaction to conventional workshop and more scalable web-based training and found that although trainees enjoyed training, they had a variety of reasons for not planning to implement the treatment as learned. Chapters Four and Five evaluated the impact of different forms of training on knowledge and skill acquisition respectively. Training in CBT-E was associated with increases in knowledge especially when paired with supervision or scalable guidance, which proved feasible and acceptable to clinician trainees. The results for skill acquisition were less clear, but the new scalable online training was associated with therapists achieving competence. Finally Chapter Six discussed the broader implications of the work and highlighted areas for future research.

Esta dissertação apresenta o Percurso de uma Oficina realizada na Lomba do Pinheiro, em Porto Alegre. Com a participação de trabalhadores e usuários do Programa de Saúde da Família (PSF) Vila Viçosa constituiu-se como um desdobramento do Projeto de Pesquisa “Oficinando em Rede”, tendo como proposta a expansão de uma Oficina tecnológica a outros espaços da cidade. Atravessada pelas ações de pesquisa e extensão que constituem este Projeto, realizando Oficinas tecnológicas no Centro Integrado de Atenção Psicossocial (CIAPS) com a participação de jovens e trabalhadores, o interesse deste estudo foi despertado nas primeiras visitas da pesquisadora ao CIAPS quando de sua distinção a inscrições pelo corredor da instituição. Inscrições que, compreendidas neste estudo como marcas encarnadas em um espaço e tempo, constituem modos de viver/conviver. Interessada em analisar como a produção de inscrições pode explicitar redes de conversações e modular o conversar configurando novas distinções e emoções, tal questionamento resultou no objetivo desta pesquisa. Delineada como um estudo de natureza qualitativa, na perspectiva de uma pesquisa-intervenção, foi desenvolvida na realização de trajetos com o uso das TIC (tecnologias da informação e comunicação) por áreas de abrangência do PSF. Apresentando o Percurso como método indispensável à consolidação do trabalho possibilitou um operar performático no encontro com as inscrições naquele conversar que, em momentos de problematização coletiva, foram reconfiguradas nas inscrições de fotografia e vídeo. Constituída com o interesse dos participantes em conversarem com outras redes, a Oficina do Percurso possibilitou ações compartilhadas que em momentos de breakdowns abriu caminhos à cognição inventiva. / This dissertation presents the course of a workshop carried out in the Lomba do Pinheiro neighbourhood, in the city of Porto Alegre, RS, Brazil. Aimed at a conversation between the participants and other networks, the Path Workshop resulted in shared actions which, at moments of breakdowns, opened new pathways into inventive cognition.

Participaram da amostra professores do ensino fundamental e dirigentes de três municípios do Estado do Rio de Janeiro. O contexto da investigação identifica uma correlação da PCI com o surgimento dos Centros de Ciência, no Brasil. Foi desenvolvida uma metodologia de pesquisa com abordagem qualitativa, com coleta de dados através de entrevistas. O instrumento utilizado acessou aspectos como: a motivação para participar e o envolvimento dos gestores, a reflexão sobre a ação, mudanças na prática, a produção e utilização do material didático construído, e a importância atribuída a eventos de Educação Continuada de Professores. Os resultados revelam que, pela percepção dos sujeitos, ocorreram mudanças positivas na prática dos professores e na aprendizagem dos seus alunos, após terem participado das oficinas. Isso nos permite concluir que este tipo de trabalho pode representar uma opção de programas de educação continuada de professores, especialmente em locais mais distantes dos grandes centros. Considerando o momento atual de grandes discussões sobre o rendimento escolar em nosso país, essa investigação pode contribuir como ferramenta para uma das faces dessa problemática, que é o apoio à prática do professor. / Founded upon references to professional continuing education for teachers; a strong belief in the paramountcy of making every effort to contribute towards the enhancement of education; and confidence that teachers should have their say on the proposals put forward for their development – , the object of this study is to investigate teacher’s perception of the changes occurred in terms of their practice inside the classroom, considering their participation in science and arts workshops held on the Itinerant Science Square. The sample included compulsory education teachers and chiefs from three municipalities in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The context of the investigation makes it possible to identify a correlation between the Itinerant Science Square (ISS) and the emergence of Science Centers in Brazil. The research methodology was based on the qualitative approach. Data was collected by means of interviews, in which the elements assessed encompassed aspects such as decision-makers’ involvement and motivation for participating, reflection on ways of action, changes in practice, production and use of teaching materials, and the importance given to events aimed at the promotion of continuing education for teachers. The results show that positive changes in teachers’ practices and students’ learning have been perceived by the interviewees after their participation in the workshops, which points to the conclusion that this kind of action may represent a policy option for teacher’s continuing education, especially in locations more distant from important centers. Considering the widespread discussion of issues concerning schools and students’ results in our country at the present time, this investigation sets out to contribute as a source of inspiration, working on one of the facets to such problematics, that of support to the teaching practice.

Tendo em vista as deficiências diagnosticadas nestas avaliações educacionais, sobretudo em relação à leitura e à escrita, em dezembro de 2005, foi instituído o projeto Escola de Tempo Integral na rede estadual de ensino de São Paulo com objetivo de modificar esse cenário. As escolas que implantaram a proposta curricular das Escolas de Tempo Integral passaram a oferecer, além das disciplinas do currículo básico, as oficinas curriculares, com proposta de atividades dinâmicas e diversificadas, articuladas aos planos de ensino dos professores e à proposta pedagógica da escola. Dentre as oficinas oferecidas, a da “Hora da Leitura” deve priorizar a formação de leitores, fazendo uso de procedimentos metodológicos que favoreçam novas oportunidades de aprendizagem e ampliação do repertório de leitura, de forma agradável. Esta pesquisa propõe investigar a implementação da “Oficina Hora da Leitura” na 8ª série do ensino fundamental no contexto da proposta da Escola de Tempo Integral de forma a diagnosticar as contribuições dessa oficina para a formação do leitor. Além disso, foram analisadas a prática e a metodologia adotadas pelo professor de acordo com proposta da “Oficina Hora da Leitura”, identificando a influência de fatores internos e externos relacionados ao desenvolvimento da oficina e verificando se os objetivos da Escola de Tempo Integral para a “Oficina Hora da Leitura” e os da proposta pedagógica da escola estão sendo alcançados... / The reading and writing performance of Brazilian students, which has been monitored constantly by national and international educational programs, has shown poor results in recent years. In an attempt to correct the deficiencies brought to light in these educational evaluations, above all with respect to reading and writing, the project Full-Time School was implemented in the state of São Paulo public school system in December 2005. The schools that adopted the curricular proposal of Full-Time Schools began to offer, in addition to the subjects of the basic curriculum, curricular workshops based on proposals of dynamic and diversified activities linked to the school's teaching plans and pedagogical project. One of the workshops offered is the Reading Time workshop, which seeks to prioritize reader qualifications by using methodological procedures that favor new learning opportunities and expand the students' reading scope in a pleasant manner. The present work through case study proposes to investigate the implementation of the Reading Time Workshop, within the context of the Full-Time School proposal, in order to diagnose the workshop's contributions to readers' qualifications. Search results point to the need to restructure the curriculum of undergraduate courses in Public and Private Universities for teacher training and practice to be developed in school full time and also in continuing education
