Upplevd ljusfärg beroende av kontrasters karaktärer : Utvärdering av hårda/mjuka kontraster mellan ljus och mörker och relation till upplevd ljusfärg och känsla / Experienced color of light depending on the characters' of contrasts

Sandström, Camilla January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this study is to obtaining parameters that can be consciously used in the lighting design process, to create environments where people feel good and comfortable. Previously research has focused on functional light, which has resulted in recommendations regarding illumination in the work area. But there are not equally explored how light affects us emotionally and how we experience environments depending on how aesthetically designed the environment is. The purpose of the study is to clarify the relationships between the characters of the contrasts and the color of light, the relationship between the characters of the contrasts and emotions, and the relationship between color of light and emotions. The study was disposed as a hypothesis-testing laboratory examination, where three different concepts were used to influence contrasts. The concepts in question were the distance of light to the surface , luminous flux and the perceived end of the light beam. These concepts were used in four different light scenes to be evaluated, and the main hypothesis was that soft contrasts affect the experience of warm color of light and hard contrasts affect the experience of cold color of light. Furthermore, respondents were able to respond to the feelings associated with soft / hard contrasts and warm / cold color of light. The results show that there may be a link between soft contrasts and warm color of light and hard contrasts and cold color of light. However, in this survey, there is an uncertainty factor, with a somewhat high SDCM value. This may have affected color quality, which may have an impact on the end result. The results also show that hard contrasts and cold colors of light are experienced stiff, public, exclusive and cold. Furthermore, soft contrasts and warm color of light create common feelings as cozy, warm, pleasant, safe and inviting. These results can form the basis for designing environments that radiate a certain atmosphere, where contrasts and colors of light are a part of influencing.

“We are Europeans”: Perspectives of European citizenship and identity in the European Union and Argentina.

MEYER, Camille January 2018 (has links)
The European Union is a supranational structure of its own, created to bring peaceafter years of war on the ground of shared economic interests. In the 1970s, the polity started torealize its need of a European identity to further pursue its integration process efficiently, openinga door on a whole new sphere. This latter shift brought new issues on the table, questioning thefeatures of a common identity bringing the European countries of the Union together andeventually introduced the concept of EU citizenship as a condition of (EU)ropean belonging. Onthe other side of the Atlantic, Argentina has been on the quest of its own identity since theindependence from Spain in 1810. In the twentieth century, the country started to identify withEurope, resulting in the creation of a European identity in a non-geographically Europeancontinent and far from the concept of EU citizenship. This thesis seeks to study the differentunderstandings of a European identity. The leading question is: How are European citizenshipand European identity interwoven in the expression of belonging to Europe in the officialdiscourse in the EU and Argentina? According to a model of the sociologist Delanty, we willdeconstruct the concept of citizenship according to three features and look at citizenship as acommunity of Rights, a participatory behaviour and an identity with means of culturalcohesiveness and historical traditions in both the EU and Argentina’s official discourse. Ourfindings show, neither the study of EU rights and participatory behaviour of Eu citizens inArgentina allow us to understand the identification of Argentina with Europe, in opposition withthe EU. Indeed, being a European in the EU refers to belonging and participating in a politicalsphere and eventually could lead to a political identity. In Argentina being European refers to acultural, if not eugenic identity which can be explained by the history of the country.

Geografia/educação e apropriação psicossocial dos lugares

Reffatti, Lucimara Vizzotto January 2001 (has links)
The research tries to demonstrate and reflect on conceptual convergences between psychosocial analysis and the significance of places and the geographical analysis, especially in relation to the encounter of geography and education. The research tries to demonstrate how the geography has been developing practically and theoreticically an approach capable of producing a sociatary solution for the wild reapropriation of places by individuals and groups that lost the feeling of belonging, in relation to their socio-geographical contexts.

Brito, Nayara Macedo Barbosa de January 2015 (has links)
We take the work of three contemporary Brazilian dramatists: Newton Moreno, Fernando Bonassi and Roberto Alvim and their respective plays Dentro, Três cigarros e a última lasanha (co-authored with Victor Navas) and Pinokio with the intend to see/identify, from an aesthetic‟s and historic‟s perspective of analysis, what is our contemporaneity, here understood by what the Britain theoretical Raymond Williams, our study‟s main reference, calls structure of feeling: a content of experience and thought which, historical in its own nature, it‟s embodied in art. From an analysis which puts in tension the dramaturgical forms or conventions created by each one of our corpus‟ authors, including the shifts they operate in Aristotelian-Hegelian drama standard, and the historical and social content that decants in these forms, guided, according to the Fredric Jameson‟s understanding, by the capitalist‟s dynamic as the present economic system, we intend to identify, even if in inaccurate terms, what is our contemporary structure of feeling. Support our analysis, in its formal perspective, the recent studies about modern and contemporary drama poetic, which have in Jean-Pierre Sarrazac its main organizer. Thus, we intend to understand aesthetically and historically the dramatists proposed and their dramaturgies, guiding ourselves by the above theoretical‟s thought; and, last but not at least, we throw ourselves in the attempt of distinguish the structure of feeling dominant in our time and its relations with the dramaturgical structures created in our historical present.

This work analyzes the poetry of Machado de Assis through the lens of americanity. Considered a tendency of continental dimension, the poetic representation of americanity’s feeling is a new theory in literary studies. However, from studies, we can list some characteristics that mark the presence of the theory in literary compositions, such as: the poetic representation of Indians, of nationalism, of nature and others elements of American continent. Therefore, in the first chapter, in order to contextualize this poetry within Brazilian literary studies; our work begins with an examination of the cultural context of nineteenth century Brazil and of works of Machado de Assis: Crisálidas, Falenas, Americanas e Ocidentais. In the second chapter, we demonstrate the first criticisms about these compositions and a brief review of the recent work about the poetry of Machado de Assis. In the third chapter, points to Machado de Assis’ preoccupation with issues related to the essence of americanity. Also in the third chapter, we analyze the poetry of Machado de Assis from the perspective of americanity’s feeling. In the third topic of this chapter, we analyze the poetry of Walt Whitman and Machado de Assis to understand similarities and/or differences in the poetic representation of americanity’s feeling. In the last topic of work we analyze the poetic representation of Indian in poems by Machado de Assis. Through this research, we demonstrate the expression of americanity’s feeling in the poetry of Machado de Assis and its forms of representation. At last, we expect our research to contribute to the future criticism of the author’s poetry.

The Moral Sense of Touch: Teaching Tactile Values in Late Medieval England

January 2016 (has links)
abstract: “The Moral Sense of Touch: Teaching Tactile Values in Late Medieval England” investigates the intersections of popular science and religious education in the late fourteenth and fifteenth centuries. Taking an interdisciplinary approach, the project draws together a range of textual artifacts, from scientific manuals to private prayerbooks, to reconstruct the vast network of touch supporting the late medieval moral syllabus. I argue that new scientific understandings of the five senses, and specifically the sense of touch, had a great impact on the processes, procedures, and parlances of vernacular religious instruction in late medieval England. The study is organized around a set of object lessons that realize the materiality of devotional reading practices. Over the course of investigation, I explore how the tactile values reinforcing medieval conceptions of pleasure and pain were cultivated to educate and, in effect, socialize popular reading audiences. Writing techniques and technologies—literary forms, manuscript designs, illustration programs—shaped the reception and user-experience of devotional texts. Focusing on the cultural life of the sense of touch, “The Moral Sense of Touch” provides a new context for a sense based study of historical literatures, one that recovers the centrality of touch in cognitive, aesthetic, and moral discourses. / Dissertation/Thesis / Doctoral Dissertation English 2016

In this dissertation we sought to make a philosophical analysis of Antonio Damásio’s theories on emotion, feeling, self, and consciousness in the face of the contemporary neurobiological context. In the first chapter, we reviewed the literature on the two paradigms of consciousness in neurobiology, in this case, the cognitive paradigm, where we reviewed the works of Crick, Baars, Dehaene, Tononi, Koch and LeDoux, and the affectivist paradigm, where we reviewed Panksepp’s core ideas. In the second chapter we review Damasio’s central ideas on emotion, feeling, self, and consciousness, analyzing both the conceptual and neurobiological actualization in the course of his major works, and how each theory is based on James’ ideas on emotional processes and the paradigms discussed in the first chapter. In the third chapter, we reviewed the core ideas of Russell’s and Barrett’s constructivist model of emotions, the stance of Damasio and other authors on the problematic about the possibility of consciousness in nonhuman animals, we assessed Damasio’s central theories in the face of the current neurobiological context, and we analyzed both the conceptual problems inherent in Damasio’s theory of consciousness and Damasio’s stance on the problem of mental causation and mind-brain identity. We hope, with this dissertation, to have contributed, even modestly, to a debate that has been gaining great impact in the specialized literature, which goes far beyond what was presented here. / 2015/14849-3
