[en] THE CORDIAL MAN AND THE TRANSLATED MAN: THE MODERNITY OF THE POSTMODERN SCENE / [pt] O HOMEM CORDIAL E O HOMEM TRADUZIDO: A MODERNIDADE NA CENA PÓS-MODERNA

GUSTAVO TADEU ALKMIM 03 June 2008 (has links)
[en] This text concerns the relation between the translated man of the contemporary world and the Brazilian cordial man. It establishes a parallel that reveals aspects of modernity (including, but not exclusively, socio-economic ones) in the multicultural, postmodern and urban scene, considering that there is not an effective rupture between these two moments. In order to develop the subject, we consider elements that involve the economic, cultural and politic process of globalization inserted in the dynamics of the cyber capitalism, along with the theoretical debate about the identity crisis of the contemporary man and the search for hybrid spaces by means of hybridism processes and by transdifference, focusing on certain narrations and characters of the Brazilian literature and cinema.

[en] NARRATIVES OF CONTEMPORARY: LITERATURE AND THE WORLD OF WORK IN THE POST-MODERN SCENE / [pt] NARRATIVAS DO CONTEMPORÂNEO: A LITERATURA E O MUNDO TRABALHO NA CENA PÓS-MODERNA

GUSTAVO TADEU ALKMIM 28 March 2019 (has links)
[en] The contemporary narrative deals necessarily with themes of lobalization and migration set in a world ruled by disconnection and lack of meaning. In this context, considering the constitutive function of society that belongs to the literature, this thesis deals with the approach that such narratives give the migrants called the postmodern scene, distinguishing intellectual and manual laborer. To do so, are taken into account the peculiarities which mark the situation of the migrant intellectual and facilitate their integration in societies marked by multiculturalism, as well as the universe of the migrant laborer, struggling with a certain invisibility and difficulty in achieving the condition translated man. For the thematic development, the thesis presents points of reflection on the role of the intellectual, and also about the identity crisis of contemporary man, in search of hybrid spaces, covering also aspects surrounding the world of work in post-industrial capitalism proposing a multidisciplinary theoretical debate, including questions of history and law, and literature itself, specifically certain stories and certain characters of contemporary fiction.

[en] EDUCATION IN TERREIROS: THE WAY SCHOOL GET IN TOUCH WITH CHILDREN WHO ARE FAIHFUL TO CANDOMBLÉ / [pt] EDUCAÇÃO EM TERREIROS: E COMO A ESCOLA SE RELACIONA COM CRIANÇAS QUE PRATICAM CANDOMBLÉ

MARISTELA GOMES DE SOUZA GUEDES 27 January 2006 (has links)
Durante 13 anos, acompanhei, observei, entrevistei e fotografei essas pessoas e as vi crescendo no terreiro. / [en] Ricardo Nery, Paula Esteves, Joyce dos Santos, Jailson dos Santos, Luana Navarro, Michele dos Santos, Alessandra dos Santos, Noam Moreira and Felipe dos Santos are children and teenagers (Joyce and Jailson are adults already) who are faihful to Candomblé. Like other children, they play specific role, are given titles in the hierarchy of the terreiros and are pried of their religion. Many children get in touch with Candomblé and, after a long period, they are ready to be possessed by Orixás. For 13 years, I have accompanied, watched, interviewed and photographed those people and I have seen their growing up in the terreiro. At the same time I have tried to look into the way school get in touch with children and teenagers who are faihful to Candomblé, mainly after the approval and the application of the Law of Religion Teaching for Rio de Janeiro (Law 3459), that laid down a confessional religion teaching in the State. The theoretical references used to cross the bridge from terreiro to school is the discussion on multicultural education. That is the matter of that research.

IVANA COUTINHO LEITÃO 01 February 2012 (has links)
[en] This paper is aimed to analyses the contribution presented by the Haberma’s discourse theory and its point over the identity formations in a deliberative and public space. It’s intended to analyses the possibility of a consensus among multicultural differences in our society. From this perspective, the current democracy is happen to be challenged to guaranty the representation and participation of the minority groups. Thus, the identity and the associative links in a post conventional society are influenced by many forms of interaction. Under the intersubjectivity paradigm, Habermas proposes a procedural foundation of fundamental rights. It’s intended through a deliberative idea and political acknowledgment rebuilt Habermas’s points over the inner cohesion between State Law and Democracy.

[fr] LE DROIT À L ÉPREUVE DU MULTICULTURALISME: REFLEXIONS DES EXPÉRIENCES BRÉSILIEN ET FRANÇAISE / [pt] O DIREITO À PROVA DO MULTICULTURALISMO: REFLEXÕES DAS EXPERIÊNCIAS BRASILEIRA E FRANCESA

[en] This research is marked by the complexity of the relations between education and cultural diversity, an emerging theme in the field of education, specifically in basic education and now entering higher education, with the implementation of socalled affirmative action. Such policies are aimed at overcoming the disadvantages of the black population, women and other discriminated groups, seeking to promote equality among the different groups that compose society. The Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) has been developing since 1994, a project in partnership with several community courses preparing disadvantaged youths for university entrance examinations, specifically the University Entrance Examination Course for Blacks and the Poor (PVNC - Pré- Vestibular para Negros e Carentes), providing full scholarships, in several of its undergraduate courses, for students from these community courses who pass the entrance examination. Of special interest is the undergraduate course in Social Services, with 98% of its students coming from community courses and/or being black. This research project has sought to understand how the experience of this course is configured within the universe of the university, its characteristics, difficulties, conquests and challenges, from the point of view of its diverse actors. Nine professors, one male student and fifteen females students were interviewed.

IEDA MORAES DA SILVA 28 February 2008 (has links)
[en] The paper Lobo Antunes and Pepetela: the Literature as a key of multicultural horizon propose some criteria to the installation of a multicultural horizon that promote a meeting between the Literature produced nowadays in Portugal and Angola. Getting the post colonial studies as a theoretical and methodological base, tries to provide a multicultural dialog searching in literary texts from Antonio Lobo Antunes and Pepetela. The main objective of this paper is to interrogate a constitution of a picture which makes possible a variety of cultures living together, besides their differences, shared historical contexts deeply associated to the violence until the end of XX Century.

[pt] EU ACREDITO QUE DEUS ESTEJA POR TRÁS DA EVOLUÇÃO: CRIACIONISMO E EVOLUÇÃO NA CONCEPÇÃO DE PROFESSORES DE BIOLOGIA / [en] I BELIEVE GOD IS BEHIND EVOLUTION: CREATIONISM AND EVOLUTION IN THE CONCEPTION OF BIOLOGY TEACHERS

21 October 2021 (has links)
[en] The relationship between science and religion are not restricted to the present day, tracing the emergence of so-called modern science in the sixteenth century. An important chapter of this history is the publication of the book The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin in 1859. After 150 years of its publication, we live in a world no less religious. Therefore, we assume that the biology teacher who professes a Christian religious faith deals with two different social constructs: religion and science. Thus, from a pluralistic conception of truth and a proposal for intercultural education based on the concept of tolerance, we investigated the conflicts and arrangements that biology teachers who profess a Christian faith find between creationism and evolution in a world that is both religious and secular. For this, we did semi-structured interviews with ten teachers and analyze the content of their speech. It was shown that the teachers accept the biological evolution, but deny the chance as an important step in this process. Instead, they believe that God drives the evolution. The teachers recognize the importance of evolution to biology, but are divided over the teaching of creationism. We also point that, based on the reference literature and the statements of the subjects of research, a proposal for intercultural education based on tolerance can help solving conflicts involving religion and science in the classroom.

[pt] O QUE OS ESTUDANTES ESTÃO APRENDENDO ESSES DIAS?: ANÁLISE DO DEBATE ACERCA DA NARRATIVA NACIONAL E A REPRESENTAÇÃO DE GRUPOS ÉTNICO-RACIAIS A PARTIR DA PRIMEIRA PROPOSTA DA BASE NACIONAL COMUM CURRICULAR / [en] WHAT ARE STUDENTS LEARNING THESE DAYS?: ANALYSIS OF THE DEBATE ABOUT THE NATIONAL NARRATIVE AND THE REPRESENTATION OF ETHNIC-RACIAL GROUPS FROM THE FIRST PROPOSAL OF THE BASE OF NATIONAL COMMON CURRICULUM

LORENA MARINA DOS SANTOS MIGUEL 02 June 2021 (has links)
[en] When the Base of National Common Curriculum (BNCC) came up as the federal proposal to determine the minimum content of education for all states, it was expected to consolidate of the educational practice carried out until then. However, in the case of History in the first version, it was the opposite, with a significant change being proposed, in which Brazilian history was centered at the expense of the centrality of teaching European history. As a result, contrary reactions have arisen in society, especially among historians and columnists of widely circulated newspapers. Critics argued, for the most part, that the BNCC was nationalist and the diminishing space in European history would result in losses of values and knowledge necessary for the desired citizenship. This version could not withstand criticism, with the second proposal returning to the traditional model. The end of the debate did not diminish the significance of the first version, which gave notoriety to a clash over the visions of history teaching and of national history itself. It is with this discussion that we begin our research, with the purpose of understanding the context and meaning of the dispute. We understand that it is possible to find an argumentative line between defenders and critics of the Base when we analyze it through the prioritization bias between an education focused on universality and another on the nation. To this end, we mobilized the debate between universalism and communitarianism as a theoretical contribution, , in addition to understanding the discussion, allows us to have three frameworks to analyze debates about curricula. These are: universalists, social cohesion and multiculturalism. While the first prioritizes the teaching of values and/or skills considered universal, the second focuses on creating common among citizens for national formation and, finally, the third favors internal relations in countries, especially the elevation of minority political groups. With this structure, it is possible to analyze the context prior to BNCC, for this we focus on the history of History teaching and on the state curricula. In such a way, it is possible that we understand both the history and the moment before the BNCC, which would be drastically modified by the proposal. As a point of comparison, we carried out the same study with US curricula, a country that we believe has a similarity in the national slave formation and differences in governmental development that allows a good counterpoint. The study of this material, like the text of the Base itself, was based on a qualitative and quantitative analysis of three central issues: (a) the periodization of national history, with a focus on events considered to be forming the country; (b) the representation of ethnic-racial groups, and (c) the space for World History. With the work done, we were able to understand how the clash over the BNCC is a common process in a democratic nation where society, which has groups with different interests and views, dialogues with the State in the formation of the school curriculum. Education, which emerged with a nationalist bias, remains central to the training of new citizens, despite changes in their organization. Therefore, it is necessary to recognize the possibilities of future conflicts and to understand their value in the development of a reflective society about their own formation.
