Para tal foi realizada uma pesquisa de campo nos referidos CRA's, a qual teve como sujeito os assistentes sociais que possui contrato temporário nesses espaços sócio-ocupacionais nos últimos dois anos. Na pesquisa procurou-se conhecer os determinantes políticos organizacionais dessa forma de trabalho, as condições objetivas e subjetivas do trabalho das mencionadas profissionais e sua relação com as transformações no mundo do trabalho que vêm ocorrendo nos últimos anos. Teve como aporte teórico-metodológico a teoria marxista por entender que a mesma propicia uma leitura crítica da realidade social como todo, não fragmentado-a de maneira desconexa de um contexto político, econômico e social de determinada sociedade. Optou-se como instrumento de coleta de dados o formulário que fora constituído de questões abertas e fechadas. Assim, este estudo está estruturado em três partes, além da introdução e da conclusão. A primeira parte tenta efetuar uma abordagem sobre as transformações que vem ocorrendo no mundo do trabalho nas últimas décadas objetivando desvendar as determinantes dos contratos temporários do assistente social no CRA's do município; a segunda parte trata do neoliberalismo e da reforma do Estado no Brasil; na terceira foi efetuada uma análise sobre as condições do trabalho do assistente social nos CRA's, para então poder entender as repercussões dos contratos de trabalho temporário desses profissionais na operacionalização da Política de Assistência Social. Finalmente, foram efetuadas as considerações gerais sobre o resultado da referida pesquisa de campo. / This work aims to analyze and reflect on the temporary employment contract of social workers and its impact on operation of the Policy Social Assistance Reference Centers of Social Assistance (CRAS) in the city of Belem do Para. To do this we conducted a field research at those CRAS's, which had as its subject the social workers who have temporary contracts in these socio- occupational spaces in these last two years. In this research it is aimed to identify the organizational politic determinants in this form of work, the objective and subjective conditions of work of the aforementioned practitioners and their relationship witer the world of work changes that have occurred in recent years. It was used the theoretical and methodological Marxist theory believing that it provides a critical reading of social reality as a whole, not by fragmenting it disconnected from a political, economic and social development of a given society. The form was chosen as an instrument of data collection that was made up of open and closed questions. Thus, this study is structured in three parts, besides the introduction and the conclusion. The first try perform a approach to the transformations that are occurring in the workplace in recent decades aimed to uncover the determinants of temporary contracts in social worker in CRAS's the city, the second part all about of the neoliberalism and of the state reform in the Brazil; in the third part went perform a analysis about conditions of the social work in CRAS's, so it is possible to understand the impact of temporary employment contracts of these professionals in the operationalization of Policy Social Assistance. Finally the general considerations were made on the outcome of this field research.

Teve como aporte teórico-metodológico a teoria marxista a qual possibilitou desvendar as condições objetivas de trabalho e de vida dos pesquisados, assim como, compreender as demandas postas ao serviço social, particularmente, àqueles relacionados ao acidente de trabalho. Os dados utilizados na pesquisa foram do tipo primário e secundário. Os primários foram coletados através de documentos da instituição, tais como: relatórios do serviço social, planos de ação do serviço social e com entrevistas realizadas com os funcionários, encarregados, gerentes, equipe interdisciplinar e profissionais dos recursos humanos; os secundários tiveram como fonte: a sistematização dos atendimentos realizados durante esse período. Os resultados da pesquisa evidenciaram que o serviço social, a partir de 2007, na COMARA como uma área de saber e uma profissão que contribui para a prevenção de acidente de trabalho, a medida que a intervenção profissional do assistente social não é mais caracterizada pela atuação somente no Pós-acidente de trabalho e, sim, na prevenção de acidente de trabalho, o que impacta na redução dos acidentes de trabalho, nessa organização. / This study aimed to analyze the professional intervention of Social Work in Accident Prevention in the Airport Commission of the Amazon Region - COMARA in the period 2007 to 2009, with a view to contributing to the prevention of occupational accidents, which is put a new demand for the profession in the socio-occupational. Had the theoretical and methodological Marxist theory which allowed to reveal the objective conditions of work and life of those surveyed, as well as understand the demands placed on social services, particularly those related to the work accident. The data used in the study were primary and secondary type. The primary data were collected through documents of the institution, such as social service reports, action plans, social service and interviews with employees, supervisors, managers, and interdisciplinary team of professional human resources, the secondaries were from: the systematization of care provided during that period. The survey results showed that social service, from 2007, in COMARA as an area of knowledge and a profession that contributes to the prevention of accidents at work, as the professional intervention of social workers is no longer characterized by the performance only in post-accident and, yes, the prevention of accidents at work, impacting on the reduction of accidents at work in this organization.

Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / O presente estudo objetiva identificar e analisar as condições políticas e as motivações que resultaram na finalização das atividades do Sindicato dos Assistentes Sociais do Rio de Janeiro em 1990, tendo em vista os elementos estruturais, conjunturais e políticos envolvidos na trajetória sindical em geral e particularmente àqueles presentes na trajetória dos assistentes sociais. A investigação partiu da hipótese de que sobre o processo que resultou no fechamento do sindicato incidiram determinações que não poderiam ser explicadas apenas como o esgotamento de um movimento que teve ao longo dos anos 1980 ações de destaque na organização e aproximação da categoria com as lutas dos demais movimentos sociais em curso no país e particularmente no Estado do Rio de Janeiro. Os dados analisados foram coletados por meio de entrevistas, análise dos registros e documentos institucionais arquivados no Sindicato dos Assistentes Sociais do Estado do Rio de Janeiro (SASERJ), arquivos pessoais, acervo do Centro Brasileiro Cooperação Serviços Sociais (CBCISS), acervo do Conselho Regional de Serviço Social do Rio de Janeiro (CRESS), teses, dissertações, trabalhos de conclusão de curso e anais dos congressos da categoria. A reflexão sobre os dados foi referenciada por considerável bibliografia acerca da organização sindical brasileira e das transformações do Estado brasileiro no período abordado. / The present study aims at to identify and to analyze the political conditions and the motivations that resulted in the finalization of the activities of the Syndicate of the Social Workers of Rio de Janeiro in 1990, tends in view the elements structural, of the situation and politicians involved in the syndical path in general and particularly to those presents in the social workers path. The investigation began of the hypothesis that on the process that resulted in the closing of the union happened determinations that could not just be explained as the exhaustion of a movement that had along the years 1980 prominence actions in the organization and approach of the category with the fights of other social movements in course in the country and particularly in the State of Rio de Janeiro. The analyzed data were collected through interviews, analysis of the registrations and institutional documents filed in the Syndicate of the Social Works of the State of Rio de Janeiro (SASERJ), personal files, collection of Regional Council OF Social Service of Rio de Janeiro (CRESS), theories, dissertations, works of conclusions course and annals of the Congresses of the category. The reflection on data was established on for considerable bibliography concerning the Brazilian State in the approached period.

O presente trabalho analisa a realidade da prática dos assistentes sociais nos serviços de saúde da Aeronáutica/RJ, tendo como referência o projeto ético - político profissional do Serviço Social expresso no Código de Ética do Assistente Social, na Lei n 8.662/1993 que regulamenta a profissão, bem como nas Diretrizes Curriculares da ABEPSS. O interesse em realizar este estudo em um espaço profissional, pouco debatido no meio acadêmico, define-se pela necessidade de uma investigação teórica que possibilite analisar, revelar e divulgar um segmento da categoria, muitas vezes desconhecido e estranho ao conjunto dos profissionais do Serviço Social. Entendemos que este estudo apresenta um caráter predominantemente exploratório. Para uma melhor compreensão do universo militar da Aeronáutica, tornou-se imprescindível, captarmos na realidade concreta, os limites e as possibilidades do movimento do real na sua historicidade. Para tanto, tivemos como alicerce o referencial teórico marxista crítico-dialético que possibilita ir para além da aparência dos fatos. É certo que uma instituição cujo funcionamento se aproxima do modelo de instituição fechada e conservadora, fundamentada nos princípios da hierarquia e da disciplina, sinalize, a priori, uma inviabilidade real de um projeto profissional emancipatório. Ao realizarmos uma análise dos depoimentos das assistentes sociais entrevistadas, buscamos considerar a cotidianidade da prática profissional, que revela presenças e ausências, aponta problemas imediatos desvela/oculta, caminhando do particular para o universal. Este estudo teve com lócus de investigação os Hospitais da Aeronáutica do Rio de Janeiro: HAAF, HCA e HFAG. Tem-se nesses espaços, uma atuação desafiante para aqueles profissionais que buscam romper com práticas burocráticas e conservadoras e que visam fortalecer práticas democráticas e coletivas de atendimento às demandas no contexto institucional. / This paper examines the reality of practice of social workers in the health services of the Air / RJ, with reference to the ethical-political project of professional social services, expressed in the Code of Professional Ethics, the Law which regulates the profession, and as guidelines for curriculum ABEPSS. The interest in performing this study in professional areas, little discussed in academic circles, defined by the need for theoretical research that enables analyze, develop and disseminate a segment of the class, often unknown and alien to all those working in Social Service. We believe that this study presents a predominantly exploratory nature. For a better understanding of the universe's military Air Force, it is essential to receive "in reality, the limits and possibilities of the real movement of its historicity. To this end, we had the foundation to the theoretical critical-Marxist dialectic that allows to go beyond the appearance of facts. It is true that an institution whose function is close to the model institution "closed", positivist and conservative, based on the principles of hierarchy and discipline, signal, a priori, an impossibility of a real professional emancipatory project. When we conduct an analysis of the statements of social workers interviewed, we tried to consider the everyday professional practice, which reveals presence and absence points to the immediate problems reveals / hides, moving from the particular to the universal. This study aimed to research the locus of the Air Force Hospital in Rio de Janeiro: HAAF, HCA and HFAG. The research has been realized with social assistants who work at the West Paulista Region in Sao Paulo and recognize themselves as professionals of experience. There have been two phases: the first one by sending a questionnaire filled with closed and opened questions based on the professional academic formation and professional exercise by those social assistants. The second one by collecting some recorded and written interviews with seventeen different people. Based upon a social research which ways of the information has happened by a quality boarding, it has been possible to identify and analyze that the construction of the dialog necessarily goes along by the comprehension which those people have in the meaning of know lodging in their professional exercise. This construction also has a relation itself in the way social assistants recognize the job they have been developing, social conditions which the Social Service materializes and concretes as a profession inserted into the social-techniques of the job. I has been possible to identify the great quantity of knowledge which the social assistant give away to operate the professional exercise. It has been clear that the construction of the dialogs with inclination into the mixing of theory and methodology is a continuous and permanent feature and along of the years it won t be the same and uniform for everyone. People reveal that the complexity of the social relationships is at the present time and it is constituted of the social assistant professional exercise. By recognizing the limits and possibilities of the professional exercise the social assistants also make sure the complexity and contradictions of the professional exercises nowadays / Esta monografia trata do modo como os assistentes sociais que se reconhecem como profissionais da prática estabelecem interlocuções com as tendências teórico-metodológicas. A pesquisa foi realizada com os assistentes sociais que atuam no Cone Leste Paulista, São Paulo e que se reconhecem como profissionais da prática. Ocorreu em duas fases: a primeira, por meio do envio de um questionário contendo perguntas fechadas e abertas acerca da formação profissional e do exercício profissional dos assistentes sociais. A segunda fase, por intermédio da coleta de depoimento gravado e transcrito com 17 sujeitos. Baseada em uma pesquisa social, cujo tratamento dos dados ocorreu por meio de uma abordagem qualitativa, foi possível identificar e analisar que a construção da interlocução perpassa necessariamente pela compreensão que os sujeitos tem do significado do conhecimento no seu exercício profissional. Esta construção também se relaciona ao modo como os assistentes sociais reconhecem o trabalho que desenvolvem, as condições sociais sob as quais o Serviço Social se materializa e se concretiza como profissão inserido na divisão sócio-técnica do trabalho. Foi possível identificar a gama de conhecimentos que o assistente social lança mão para operacionalizar o exercício profissional. Ficou claro que a construção da interlocução com as tendências teórico-metodológicas é de caráter contínuo e permanente e, ao mesmo tempo, não é homogênea ou igual para todos. Os sujeitos revelam que a complexidade das relações sociais está presente e é constitutiva do exercício profissional do assistente social. Ao reconhecer os limites e possibilidades do exercício profissional, os assistentes sociais evidenciam também a complexidade e as contradições do exercício profissional na contemporaneidade

Although the profession is regulated as liberal profession, for the most part of social worker carries on as salaried worker. The research was accomplished in São Paulo State with the social workers that finished the year 2004 with their enrollment canceled in CRESS 9th Region /SP and it was used two levels of approaches: the quantitative and the qualitative combining strategies that made possible to enrich the analyses. The cancellation of the enrollment is a right of the social worker since it is not in the exercise of any activity or exclusive function of social worker. We accomplished the study in the social workers' files and later, in the sense to know the social experience of these professionals and to qualify the quantitative information, we contacted them through a questionnaire. We still accomplished interviews with the professionals that, through its introduction in the organs of the professional category, they build this profession in its normative and formative dimensions (CRESS and national ABEPSS). This thesis made possible to verify that, the profession in its formal perspective and regulated faces several challenges related to the deregulations field and that the movement of cancellations of the social workers' professional enrollment in CRESS - 9th Region/SP represents a reality marked by difficulties in the introduction and/or permanence in the job s market with intense mobility. A significant part of social workers live with the fight for an introduction in the job's market with uncertainties and fragilities; tendencies to a precarious introduction, the coexistence with the unemployment and a big competition; however, in the group of the worked elements, we verified that it is not treated of a retraction of this market. On the contrary, it is a market in expansion that demonstrates the legitimacy reached by the profession in its 70 years of effective professional exercise in Brazil / Esta tese tem como objetivo analisar os impactos dos processos de desregulamentação no mercado de trabalho na profissão Serviço Social. Embora a profissão seja regulamentada como profissão liberal, majoritariamente o assistente social exerce seu trabalho de forma assalariada. A pesquisa foi realizada no Estado de São Paulo com os assistentes sociais que finalizaram o ano de 2004 com seus registros cancelados no CRESS 9ª Região/SP e utilizou dois níveis de abordagens: a quantitativa e a qualitativa combina ndo estratégias que possibilitaram enriquecer as análises. O cancelamento do registro é um direito do assistente social desde que não esteja no exercício de qualquer atividade ou função privativa. Realizamos o estudo nos prontuários dos assistentes sociais e posteriormente, no sentido de conhecer a experiência social destes sujeitos e qualificar as informações quantitativas, os contatamos através de um questionário. Realizamos ainda, entrevistas com os sujeitos que, através de suas inserções nos órgãos da categoria profissional, constroem esta profissão em suas dimensões normativa e formativa (CRESS e ABEPSS nacional). Esta tese possibilitou verificar que a profissão, em sua perspectiva formal e regulamentada, enfrenta desafios diversos relacionados ao campo das desregulamentações e que o movimento dos cancelamentos dos registros profissionais dos assistentes sociais no CRESS - 9ª Região/SP representa uma realidade marcada por dificuldades na inserção e/ou permanência no mercado de trabalho, com intensa mobilidade. Uma parcela significativa de assistentes sociais vivencia a luta pela inserção ao mercado de trabalho com incertezas e fragilidades, tendências a uma inserção precarizada, a convivência com o desemprego e maior competição, porém, no conjunto dos elementos trabalhados verificamos que não se trata de uma retração deste mercado. Pelo contrário, é um mercado em expansão o que demonstra a legitimidade alcançada pela profissão em seus 70 anos de efetivo exercício profissional no Brasil

And as objective to understand this process and its interfaces. We think that the study on the reasons of choice of the profession it can contribute for a clearer vision, as much on the professional identity, how much of that they choose the profession. The room had constituted the citizens of our research and pupils first and fourth year of PUC/SP and UNESP/FRANCA, on the basis of the quali-quantitative research with questionnaire of research, formularizations of open and closed questions. We understand as reasons and implications of the choice, all the factors that can influence in the decision, are of social, cultural and affective order economic, articulated of a multidimensional four such which the desire to transform the society, the interest to help the people, involved history of life and feelings and emotions, familiar influence, for the easiness to pass in the vestibular contest, absence of other alternatives insertion in the work world, militancy among others. This study it fortifies the question of the subjectivity as meant of direction, as possibility to make questions and questionaments. In this process of choice, it has relation of the interlaced reason and the emotion. The subjectivity and the reasions of the professional choice cannot be seen as a specific, only changeable unit. But that it congregates some diretions / O presente estudo tem como objeto de pesquisa a escolha profissional e subjetividade. E como objetivo, compreender as implicações subjetivas que envolvem o processo de escolha do curso de Serviço Social. Pensamos que o estudo sobre os motivos de escolha da profissão pode contribuir para uma visão mais clara tanto sobre a identidade profissional quanto daqueles que escolhem a profissão. Constituíram os sujeitos de nossa pesquisa os alunos do primeiro e quarto ano da PUC/SP e UNESP/Franca, com base na pesquisa quali-quantitativa com questionário de pesquisa, com formulações de questões abertas e fechadas. Entendemos como motivos e implicações da escolha, todos os fatores que podem influenciar na decisão, sejam de ordem econômica, social, cultural e afetiva, articulado de uma forma multidimensional, tais quais: o desejo de transformar a sociedade, o interesse de ajudar as pessoas, história de vida e sentimentos e emoções envolvidas, influência familiar, pela facilidade de passar no vestibular, ausência de outras alternativas, inserção no mercado de trabalho, militância entre outros. Esse estudo fortalece a questão da subjetividade como significado de sentido, como possibilidade de fazer perguntas e questionamentos. Nesse processo de escolha, há relação da razão e da emoção entrelaçadas. A subjetividade e os motivos da escolha profissional não podem ser vistos como uma unidade específica, única, imutável, mas que congrega vários sentidos

The research is focused on the Social Workers representation related to the Social Work practice in those schools, expressing the challenges which arise due to demands and scholar quotidian situations, having as an analysis axe the professional exercise related to the ethical-political project of this occupation. For its development, the Oral History methodology was used, a privileged resource for the social reality knowledge, with an approach which leads toward the experiences, representations and meanings attributed by the individuals in their livings. The analyses were based in the intellectuals linked to the Marxist tradition; thence using methodological-theoretical references which helped to comprehend the historical process as a movement driven by present contradictions. Seeking the social representations, which mean thoughts, feelings and actions expressing the reality experienced by the Social Workers, characters of this research, social-historical issues were found to compose these representations, recognizing that it is nether loosen nor unrelated to a context but inserted in it. As a text, product of a knowledge forged by several voices, this research brings the individual to the narrative center, which means, the narrator is one of the characters and the history telling is part of the history being told . (PORTELLI, 1997, p. 38). This telling points valuable dimensions to be considered, such as the need to increase the intervention field of the Social Works in those schools, so that it does not remain restricted to a certain programs and bureaucratic activities, targeting to overcome focused and specific practices which persist sometimes. It is also clear in their statements that the scholar organization remains centered in some original practices, operating with identities from long time ago; at the same time, the statements reflect the desire of overcome, in tune with the historical moment. Regarding this, distinguishes the importance of examine the Education and the Social Work as an unconditional social right. Recognizes facing the challenges and demands which arises from the scholar quotidian the need of the interdisciplinary work and suggest fecund proposals such as school involvement with the community, the family, the students and the socialpreventive projects development. Constitute itself a qualified field to interfere in the social issues present in the scholar quotidian, the Social Work points the social rights as a focus of its work, as a fight banner and a professional horizon. Still remain implicit in the Social Workers statements the need of rethinking the educative and pedagogical conceptions and the possibility to build new practices, new identities and recreate the professional quotidian. That is the challenge! / Esta dissertação é resultado de uma pesquisa qualitativa realizada junto a Assistentes Sociais que trabalham em escolas filantrópicas vinculadas à Congregação Salesiana, mantidas pelas Filhas de Maria Auxiliadora e ligadas à Inspetoria Santa Catarina de Sena - circunscrita no Estado de São Paulo. O objeto desta pesquisa centra-se nas representações que os Assistentes Sociais elaboram sobre a prática do Serviço Social nestas escolas, expressando os desafios que se colocam à profissão frente às demandas e às situações que irrompem no cotidiano escolar, tendo como eixo de análise o exercício profissional mediado pelo projeto ético-político da profissão. Para a sua construção, utilizou-se a metodologia de História Oral, um dos recursos privilegiados para o conhecimento da realidade social, com uma abordagem que se projeta para as experiências, as representações e significados atribuídos pelos sujeitos em suas vivências. As análises foram fundamentadas em pensadores vinculados à tradição marxista; utilizando-se, portanto, referenciais teórico-metodológicos que ajudaram a apreender o processo histórico como movimento acionado pelas contradições presentes. Ao buscar as representações sociais, ou seja, pensamentos, sentimentos e ações que expressassem a realidade vivida pelos Assistentes Sociais, sujeitos desta pesquisa, percebeu-se que existem determinantes sócio-históricos que constituem tais representações, o que implica reconhecer que elas não estão soltas e nem despregadas de um contexto, mas presentes nele. Como um texto, produto de um conhecimento forjado por várias vozes, esta pesquisa traz o sujeito para dentro da narrativa, ou seja, o narrador é agora uma das personagens e o contar da história é parte da história que está sendo contada . (PORTELLI, 1997c, p. 38). E o seu contar indica dimensões valiosas a serem consideradas, como a necessidade de ampliar o espaço de intervenção do Serviço Social nestas escolas, para que este não fique restrito a determinados programas e atividades burocráticas, objetivando superar práticas focalizadas e pontuais que, por vezes, persistem. Fica também evidente em seus depoimentos que a organização escolar permanece centrada em algumas práticas ainda de sua origem, operando com identidades que há muito lhe foram atribuídas; ao mesmo tempo, os depoimentos manifestam o desejo de que estas possam ser superadas, sintonizando-se com o momento histórico. Em vista disso, destacam a importância de examinar a Educação e a Assistência Social como um direito social e incondicional. Reconhecem diante das demandas e desafios que emergem no cotidiano escolar a necessidade do trabalho interdisciplinar e sugerem propostas fecundas, como o envolvimento da escola com a comunidade, com a família, com os alunos e o desenvolvimento de projetos sócio-preventivos junto a estes. Constituindo-se um espaço qualificado para intervir com as questões sociais presentes no cotidiano escolar, o Serviço Social aponta os direitos sociais como foco do seu trabalho, como bandeira de luta e horizonte profissional. Implícita nos depoimentos dos Assistentes Sociais aparece a necessidade de repensar as concepções educativas e pedagógicas e a possibilidade de se construírem novas práticas, novas identidades e re-criar o cotidiano profissional. Eis o desafio!

To reach this aim we sought to establish the proper connections among the three axes that we consider of extreme importance that are: The social issue, which according to our point of view is the central element of the relation between the profession of Social Work and the reality, considering that the object of work of the social worker deals with social issues in their multiple expressions; The Social Work as a profession registered in the social and technical division of work and the social assistant in the condition of an employee that, as any other worker, has to; sell his work force to survive, The entrepreneurial social responsibility understood as a management strategy used by the enterprises that in search of social legitimization use strategies that can embody new dimensions to their businesses, in other words, the social responsibility as part of an entrepreneurial rationality to keep itself in the globalized market. So, through these axis and the individuals testimonies (managers and social workers) who develop their profession in Mato Grosso enterprises, we try to develop this study, that is, the analysis of the social worker s performance in the practices of entrepreneurial social responsibility in Mato Grosso / Esta tese tem o objetivo de analisar a atuação do assistente social nas ações de responsabilidade social desenvolvidas pelas empresas de Mato Grosso. Para alcançarmos este objetivo buscamos estabelecer as devidas conexões entre os três eixos que consideramos de importância fundamental, e que são: - A questão social que, no nosso entendimento, se constitui em elemento central da relação entre a profissão de Serviço Social e a realidade, considerando que o objeto de trabalho do assistente social é a questão social nas suas múltiplas expressões; - A profissão de Serviço Social, enquanto profissão inscrita na divisão social e técnica do trabalho e o assistente social na condição de trabalhador assalariado que, como qualquer outro trabalhador, tem que vender a sua força de trabalho para sobreviver; - a responsabilidade social empresarial entendida como estratégia de gestão utilizada pelas empresas que em busca de legitimação social lançam mão de estratégias que venham incorporar novas dimensões aos seus negócios. Em outras palavras, a responsabilidade social como parte da racionalidade empresarial para manter-se no mercado globalizado. Assim, a partir desses eixos e dos depoimentos dos sujeitos (gestores e assistentes sociais) que desenvolvem sua atuação profissional em empresas no Estado de Mato Grosso, buscamos desenvolver o estudo proposto, ou seja, a análise da atuação do assistente social nas ações de responsabilidade social empresarial em Mato Grosso

This research starts from the fact that it is time to rethink about the social worker space and seeks to contribute to the professional exercise, particularly in the third sector , a field which has grown notably in the last decade, despite being little studied. To better know the social workers' work possibilities in the third sector, we have adopted a quantitative research with four carers representing such sector. As results we have reached the profile limits of those entities, defined by Law as Social Care entities, and have found the trace of religiosity and a remarkable dedication in attending to children and teenagers. During this research, financial resources were given priority, in which we have found that tha State is the major investor to the development of these activities; we have also examined other factors such as management, resource funds and volunteers participation. Analysing the social workers professional performance in the third sector and its peculiarities, we have thought about topics such as activities, planning, autonomy and work value, enhancing the social care network and the citizen's view about private and public spaces. We have studied the professionals' capacity and their political interest as an answer to the labour market difficulties, however we have noticed that this participation is only seen in the legal counselling sector. These professionals highlight a good relation with the council social care network and their local knowledge, which helps to further the institutional space, resulting from the necessity for better care and appliance of rights / Quando a sociedade se transforma, um novo modo de viver se impõe e, com ele, irrompem novas necessidades humanas; para respondê-las, profissões se reorganizam e buscam estratégias para uma atuação mais efetiva. Esta pesquisa parte do pressuposto de que é momento de repensar os espaços de inserção do assistente social e busca contribuir para o debate acerca do exercício profissional, especificamente, no campo do terceiro setor , esfera que cresceu notavelmente na última década e ainda é pouco estudada. Para conhecer melhor as possibilidades de trabalho do assistente social no terceiro setor realizamos uma pesquisa qualitativa com quatro assistentes sociais de entidades representativas de tal setor. Quanto aos resultados, chegamos à delimitação do perfil das entidades pesquisadas, definidas a partir da legislação social como entidades de assistência social e encontramos, preponderantemente, a marca da religiosidade e da dedicação ao atendimento de crianças e adolescentes. No processo da pesquisa, foi dada ênfase às relações em torno dos recursos financeiros, por meio da qual constatamos a presença majoritária do Estado como financiador das atividades desenvolvidas; também se examinaram outras características como a direção, a captação de recursos e a presença dos voluntários. Ao analisarmos o fazer profissional do assistente social no terceiro setor e seus traços peculiares, refletimos, ainda, sobre pontos como: atividades, planejamento, valorização do trabalho, autonomia, destacando as redes sócioassistenciais e a visão de cada sujeito a respeito do espaço público e privado. Estudamos a capacitação do profissional e sua inserção política como respostas frente às dificuldades do mercado de trabalho, porém constatamos que essa participação se dá apenas no espaço dos conselhos de direitos. Destacam-se nas falas desses profissionais uma boa articulação com a rede sócio-assistencial do município e o conhecimento da realidade local, o que colabora para uma atuação que ultrapassa o espaço institucional, resultante da preocupação com a qualidade dos serviços e com o cumprimento dos direitos
