Genus, familjekonstellation ochsexuell läggning i läromedel församhällskunskap årskurs 4–6 : En kvalitativ innehållsanalys där läromedels uppvisande avheteronormativitet undersöks / Gender, family constellation and sexual orientation in instructionalmaterials for social studies year 4–6 : A qualitative content analysis where the instructional materials display ofheteronormativity is examined

Österberg, Emma January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the meaning of a heteronormative in schoolenvironments. The purpose is also to investigate whether the examined curriculum materialsin social studies for grades 4–6 display a heteronormative and how different types of gender, family constellations and sexual orientation are displayed in curriculum materials in socialstudies for that age group. The conclusion is based on a textual and visual analysis of fourdifferent curriculum materials in social studies. Methodological triangulation is used to makeit easier to discover whether they are heteronormative. The survey is based on a qualitativeanalysis with quantitative elements. As both the text and visuals have been examined, it wasnot enough to only use one measurement method. The quantitative method was used toanswer the frequency of the appearance of gender, family constellation and sexual orientationin the curriculum materials. To answer the issue on whether the teaching materials areheteronormative or not, the qualitative method was used. The main result shows that all examined instructional materials display men and women, nuclear families and heterosexuals the majority of times. Based on the result, it also appearsthat the instructional materials, in one way or another, are heteronormative.

Relations between Sibling Relationship Quality and Romantic Competence among Young Adults

Sun, Li Wei 05 1900 (has links)
A primary task of adolescence and young adulthood is to form and develop healthy romantic relationships. While the importance of sibling and romantic relationships have been examined separately, only recently have researchers begun to explore links between the two. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the connection between romantic competence and sibling relationships, especially sibling warmth and sibling conflict, as well as the role of sibling gender constellation in college-aged young adults. This study aimed to examine (a) whether there is an association between sibling relationship quality, such as sibling warmth and sibling conflict, and perceived romantic competence, and (b) the role of sibling gender constellation on the relationship between sibling relationship quality (sibling warmth and sibling conflict) and perceived romantic competence among undergraduate students. Correlation analyses indicated there was no statistically significant correlation between sibling warmth and perceived romantic competence (p > .05), whereas sibling conflict was statistically negative correlated with perceived romantic competence (p < .01). While sibling gender constellation did not have an interaction effect with sibling conflict on perceived romantic competence, which means sibling gender constellation did not have a moderating effect on the relationship between sibling conflict and perceived romantic competence. Limitations and applications of the present study were also discussed.

Microsatellite Constellation for Wildfire Monitoring / Mikrosatellitkonstellation för övervakning av skogsbränder

Bruce Rosete, Citlali January 2022 (has links)
For several years, the occurrence of more severe and uncontrolled wildfires has been increasing. There is a need to detect wildfires with a higher spatial and temporal resolution than the ones currently provided by operational satellites. In this thesis, an imager study and orbital design of a microsatellite constellation using near infrared (NIR) and shortwave infrared (SWIR) imagers for wildfire monitoring, with enhanced spatial and temporal resolution, was conducted. After a state of the art review, different alternatives of imaging systems were discerned: two commercial sensors with spectral range of 0.7 to 1.7 μm and spatial resolution of 140 m and 112 m, respectively; one commercial sensor with spectral range up to 2.2 μm and spatial resolution of 168 m; and one sensor proposal with higher spatial resolution of 20 m or 50 m, achieved by increasing the focal length. Several conclusions were reached with regards to the imagers: the appropriateness of lenses found for each sensor was confirmed, the Earth rotation distortion was found to increase as the exposure time is extended, as did the signal-to noise ratio. A proposal for a circular sun-synchronous polar orbit with a daily repeating pattern was made. Applying a simplified method to calculate the semi-major axis, an altitude of 561 km and inclination of 97.64° were determined. Accordingly, the number of satellites for both global and regional (Sweden) coverage was estimated for all imager alternatives. For global coverage, the necessary number of satellites to achieve a spatial resolution of 140.25 m was calculated to be 15 satellites, whereas for a spatial resolution of 50 m the number of satellites increased to 84. On the other hand, for regional coverage (Sweden), the number of satellites to achieve a spatial resolution of 140.25 m were 6, and for a spatial resolution of 50 m the number of satellites was 32. This thesis shows how many satellites are required for either global or regional coverage, considering different imager configurations, to detect wildfires with a higher spatial and temporal resolution.

Navigating Chaos: Resonant Orbits for Sustaining Cislunar Operations

Maaninee Gupta (8770355) 26 April 2024 (has links)

The recent and upcoming increase in spaceflight missions to the lunar vicinity necessitates methodologies to enable operations beyond the Earth. In particular, there is a pressing need for a Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Space Situational Awareness (SSA) architecture that encompasses the realm of space beyond the sub-geosynchronous region to sustain humanity's long-term presence in that region. Naturally, the large distances in the cislunar domain restrict access rapid and economical access from the Earth. In addition, due to the long ranges and inconsistent visibility, the volume contained within the orbit of the Moon is inadequately observed from Earth-based instruments. As such, space-based assets to supplement ground-based infrastructure are required. The need for space-based assets to support a sustained presence is further complicated by the challenging dynamics that manifest in cislunar space. Multi-body dynamical models are necessary to sufficiently model and predict the motion of any objects that operate in the space between the Earth and the Moon. The current work seeks to address these challenges in dynamical modeling and cislunar accessibility via the exploration of resonant orbits. These types of orbits, that are commensurate with the lunar sidereal period, are constructed in the Earth-Moon Circular Restricted Three-Body Problem (CR3BP) and validated in the Higher-Fidelity Ephemeris Model (HFEM). The expansive geometries and energy options supplied by the orbits are favorable for achieving recurring access between the Earth and the lunar vicinity. Sample orbits in prograde resonance are explored to accommodate circumlunar access from underlying cislunar orbit structures via Poincaré mapping techniques. Orbits in retrograde resonance, due to their operational stability, are employed in the design of space-based observer constellations that naturally maintain their relative configuration over successive revolutions.

Sidereal resonant orbits that are additionally commensurate with the lunar synodic period are identified. Such orbits, along with possessing geometries inherent to sidereal resonant behavior, exhibit periodic alignments with respect to the Sun in the Earth-Moon rotating frame. This characteristic renders the orbits suitable for hosting space-based sensors that, in addition to naturally avoiding eclipses, maintain visual custody of targets in the cislunar domain. For orbits that are not eclipse-favorable, a penumbra-avoidance path constraint is implemented to compute baseline trajectories that avoid Earth and Moon eclipse events. Constellations of observers in both sidereal and sidereal-synodic resonant orbits are designed for cislunar SSA applications. Sample trajectories are assessed for the visibility of various targets in the cislunar volume, and connectivity relative to zones of interest in Earth-Moon plane. The sample constellations and observer trajectories demonstrate the utility of resonant orbits for various applications to sustain operations in cislunar space.

New perspectives on clinical cancer : body, psychothérapies and crepuscular states in serious disease

Milleur, Yannick 01 December 2015 (has links)
Cancer patients experience extreme conditions of existence requiring a specific form of psychotherapy. The cancer and essential anticancer treatments together form the cancerous situation, invaded by the cancer’s violent, processual logic. This situation can constitute a sea change in the subject’s life, sweeping away their most firmly held convictions and the most deeply rooted foundations of their narcissistic identity and character. The subject is at major risk of suffering a breakdown. In addition, the ‘actual’ trauma draws strength from the revival of primary traumas up until now extinguished. Their return takes the form of hallucinatory sensations producing states of body and perception of the external world psychologically unrepresentable. The subject sees and experiences themself passively, without really being capable of feeling affected. Deadly dullness, inertia and pain dominate or, on the contrary, the subject feels vividly alive, hypersensitive, invaded and persecuted, at the risk of bursting. The world essentially revolves around this bipolarity, which the radical operational defence system covers in whiteness. It throws its mantle over the world, relationships, objects, affects and the subject’s body. Sometimes nothing can touch the subject at all, and their psyche is reduced to its archaic core, at the edge of psyche-soma. The cancer eradicates subjectivity, steeling away the active principle of primal logic. This sometimes lasting state of white melancholy is but one phase in a polymorphic melancholic processuality. This force dominates the subject’s life, with a tendency either to proto-melancholy or proto-mania, which replace the affective world by a propensity to inertia or psychomotricity. The aim of melancholy work is to revive the deadlocked capacity for identification. We will examine the specific use of transference and, in particular, the key implementation of a basic formal transference. This works based on the dual primal activation of formal signifiers shared by the therapist and their patient. The therapist may be subject to motions of lethargy and psychocorporal excitations, plunging the therapeutic relationship into crepuscular states, relative to the cancer and to the return of primary traumas. We will look at how the principle aim of psychotherapy is the psychological use, and not eradication, of the cancer object, as a means of forging the conditions rendering the therapeutic context feasible: allow the representation of states of body, restore symbolisation, imagination and recourse to unconscious fantasy. Together, these form the essential basis of psychotherapy for cancer patients.

New Generation 4-Channel GNSS Receiver : Design, Production, and Testing

Antoja Lleonart, Guillem January 2018 (has links)
Due to the current research needs and the lack of commercial multi-channel, multi-constellation GNSS receivers, a two-board solution has been developed so it can be mated with and take advantage of the processing power of the FPGA board branded as MicroZed. In order to achieve the proposed goals, an initial phase for assessing and updating the older design, building, and testing of SiGe modules (including both the electronics and casings) has been carried out. The results included demonstrate performances at logging GPS-L1 data with similar C/N0 and AGC values as the previous versions of the modules and offering navigation solutions with accuracies of a few meters. Secondly, a first iteration and design proposal for the new generation receiver has been proposed for GPS and GLONASS L1 and L2, which has been manufactured and tested. Partial tests have been performed due to the flaws of the current revision of the MicroZed Board in regards to its communication peripherals, and the results have validated the receiver’s design provided certain modifications are considered for future iterations. Furthermore, voltage and frequency tests have provided results with an error of less than 7%, and signal tests have provided C/N0 values similar to those of the SiGe modules of around 47[dB-Hz] which will be a useful baseline for future iterations. Finally, a design proposal for an Interface Board used between the older NT1065_PMOD Board and other FPGA boards carrying the standardized FMC connectors has been added to the report and negotiations with manufacturers have been engaged.

Analýza a modelování přenosu signálu ve standardech DVB-H/SH / Analysis and Simulation of the Signals Transmission in the DVB-H/SH Standards

Polák, Ladislav January 2013 (has links)

Systerskap i två amerikanska romansviter för unga kvinnor : en jämförande analys av Louisa May Alcotts Little Women, Good Wives och Ann Brashares The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. / Sisterhood in Two American Novel Suites for Little Women : A comparative analysis of Louisa May Alcott's Little Women and Good Wives and Ann Brashares' The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Klementsson, Marie-Helene January 2007 (has links)
The purpose of this Master Thesis is to compare two American novel suites for young women, Louisa May Alcott‟s Little Women and Good Wives to Ann Brashares series of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The social status of women and children in the US during the 19th century is analyzed and compared historically and literary with the situation 130 years later. The main question is, what differences exist in the books and is there a connection between the changes in society and literature? The method of this Master Thesis is to make a comparative narratological analysis placed in a historical context. The result shows that the multiple character remains and enhances the identification process. Motherhood in the works of Alcott is prominent, whereas in the works of Brashares, sisterhood replaces motherhood. In Alcott‟s US during the 19th century, Christian faith was in the foreground. The goal for girls was the holy matrimony, followed by the sanctuary of heaven. Brashares depicts, in the 21st century, self-fulfilment to be aspired on earth. The strength of Alcott‟s portrayed sisterhood is weakened when marriage is consumed. In Brashares works, the love relationships are no longer the sole purpose of life and consequently not a competitor to the sisterly friendship.
