Anthropological dualism in Korean church education / Kyong Ho KwonKwon, Kyong Ho January 2007 (has links)
The Christian church was begun in 19Ih century in the traditionally multi-religious
society in Korea. Christianity holds a major position in Korea today and has for the past
20 years been growing rapidly in numbers. Despite its phenomenal growth, the churches.
and Christianity in general, have been suffering from several ailments, of which
dualistic thinking is not the least. Anthropological dualism amounts to not only
distinguishing between soul and body, but also ascribing a separate and independent
existence to each of these "components" of the human being.
This dualism (as well as others) developed in the church under the influence of
traditional Korean religions such as Buddhism, Confucianism and Shamanism that have
been teaching such dualisms. The Korean Christian mindset has to this day been
dualistic both as a result of such cultural and philosophical influences and o€ ideas
brought by the early missionaries to Korea. The influence of Platonic dualism is still
widespread in the conservative and gospel church.
This study focuses on:
+ examining the nature of the problem of anthropological (and other forms of)
dualism
+ how the problem has been manifesting itself in Korean churches and in church
education
+ the most momentous influences on Korean Christianity and churches resulting in
a dualistic mindset regarding life in general and the human being in particular
+ the impact of anthropological dualism on church life and especially on education
in the context of the church
+ the Biblical view of the human being, and on
+ how the pervasive problem of anthropological dualism can be eradicated.
It was found that, although the Bible uses a whole variety of words that somehow relate
to or describe the human being, these words or t e n s do not refer to "parts" or
"components" but rather to different facets of the human being, much like one can refer
to the different facets of a polished diamond. Whenever a word is used, it refers to a
particular perspective from which the human being is approached or viewed but in the
final analysis, it refers to the whole being. Discovery of this perspective was important
in view of the dualistic tendencies in Korean churches and in church education.
Application of a holistic view of the human being enables one to approach education as
the guiding, leading, enabling, equipping and discipling of educands (those who are
being guided etc.) as whole, total and integrated persons. / Thesis (Ph.D. (Education))--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2007.

Literary non-fiction and the unstable fault line of the imaginative and the reportorial : Antjie Krog’s, Country of my skull, Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela’s, A human being died that night and Sindiwe Magona’s, Mother to motherFransman, Jolene 12 1900 (has links)
Thesis (MA)--Stellenbosch University, 2012. / ENGLISH ABSTRACT: This thesis explores the representation of personal narrative and nationhood within the genre of literary non-fiction written around the theme of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The texts to be examined are Antjie Krog‟s, Country of My Skull, Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela‟s A Human Being Died That Night and Sindiwe Magona‟s Mother to Mother.
The texts by Krog and Gobodo-Madikizela tell the story of apartheid‟s legacy from two different viewpoints. Their texts are filled with spatial patches of personal narrative which emphasize the impact apartheid had on two different South African cultures, thereby linking the personal to the national by exploring a subjective truth in their narratives. Both these authors were involved with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) in a professional capacity and through their respective ideologies the psyche of the apartheid perpetrator is examined, interrogated and analysed. Within the genre of literary non-fiction these two writers grapple with capturing the real, the objective, but simultaneously insist on doing so from a subjective vantage point.
Sindiwe Magona‟s, Mother to Mother also centres on the theme of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and on the psyche of the perpetrator. This time, however, the perpetrator‟s psyche is explored through the lens of a narrator-mother in an address to the victim‟s mother. The most significant difference between this text and the other two is that the Magona text provides a fictional account of the TRC case in question. The ethical implications of a literary text with documentary subject matter, of a text that explores the intersections between fiction and non-fiction, surfaces again, and to a larger extent than in the other two texts, thereby further unsettling the line between the reportorial and the imaginative. Die tekste wat ondersoek word is Antjie Krog se Country of My Skull, Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela se A Human Being Died That Night en Sindiwe Magona se Mother to Mother.

Abortion and the right to life: A case study of South Africa and GermanyZimmer, Martina January 2016 (has links)
Magister Legum - LLM (Public Law and Jurisprudence) / The issue of abortion and the protection of the right to life have been discussed by many academics,
yet remains an unresolved topic in many countries. The mere fact that abortion is the deliberate
termination of a human pregnancy raises the question, whether or not such an act violates the right to
life. Abortion has been legalised in South Africa and Germany. This study explores the area of
abortion vis a viz the obligation of South Africa and German under the international and regional
human rights instruments to protect the right to life. Notably, the right to life is protected under a
plethora of international and regional human rights instruments. At international level, the right to
life is protected under Article 3 of the Universal declaration of Human Rights and Article 6 of the
International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. At regional level of the right to life is protected
by Article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights and Article 4 of the African Charter on
Human and Peoples Rights. To give a broad understanding of the meaning, nature and content of the
right to life, this mini-thesis shall critically analyse the words used under the above Articles which
protect the right to life. Then the paper will endeavour on its main objective which is to determine
whether or not the legalisation of Abortion in South Africa and Germany violates the right to life?

Previous issue date: 2015-03-25 / Josef Pieper and C. S. Lewis are two of the main philosophers of the 20th century. This research aims to analyse their thoughts on love and their implications to education. Pieper and Lewis are important scholars who have gained enormous respect in the academic world for their original and profound works as christian thinkers. Their studies on love each author from his own point of view are a must for everyone who is concerned with education. Lewis and Pieper share a language-centered methodology that leads to clarify the common essence of loves (Pieper) and the four loves: affection, friendship, eros and charity (Lewis). And both thinkers are focused on ordinary language. The more love is a misunderstood word the more such a philosophical analysis is required. Education for love, according to Lewis and Pieper, is centered in philosophical anthropology, and this dissertation presents the connection between their conception of love and man and the education that follows.

Previous issue date: 2009-03-18 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This research has as central focus the study about the situation of the body aspect and the human movement in the Brazilian educational system. To develop this thematic had been used three big pillars of different knowledge areas, but articulated between them; they are: Philosophy, Physical Education and Education. From a philosophical vision, they had been analyzed many subjects about the body and the
situation of this one with the educational structures that exists, using especially the actual condition of Physical Education at School as support to accomplish this
analysis. Having as an initial base the dualism and the rationalism represents the structural base of the educational scope, from this point, happen an increase in the
reduction of the importance of the body and its movement in the educational structures was made reflections and discussions during the work development. Described for bibliographical and documentary survey, with description, exploration and analysis of official documents of the Brazilian education and endorsed by the authors of the reference from the related areas, this research presents a development of ideas that converge as much for the overcoming dualist human being vision, (that divides in opposing and not transposable polar regions body and soul, body and mind), as for a system that praises the full human development.(AU) / Esta pesquisa tem como foco central o estudo sobre a situação do aspecto corporal e do movimento humano no sistema educacional brasileiro.
o desenvolvimento do trabalho.

Starting with the notion of contemporary family as a primary human social unit consisting of a complete social relationship among its members, and as space of entanglement between the private and the public, this research aims to identify the impacts on it by the secularization as a cultural process phenomenon corresponding to an uprooting, related to a laicization process as a political circumstance, among which the pluralization of the family forms revealed in the social legitimation of new modes about being family that use as reference — to be either reinforced of fought against — a latent structure based on the father-mother-child triad in which love is the generalized, symbolic means of exchange, somehow combining the four components or elements, namely gift, reciprocity generativity and sexuality, and the dignity of the human being as indeed a higher value and a founding principle the ensures free development of individuals. As a secondary endpoint, this work investigates the effect of such phenomena on the legal framework, notably whether the intention of value from politically active minorities impinging on the above base constitute power that interferes on the law-making process to the extent that they are turned into legal norms. The third endpoint is to identify among the pluralization of the family forms if there is anyone which is most likely to be successful and long-lasting regarding itself and its members.

Submitted by Marcelo Teixeira (mvteixeira@ucs.br) on 2014-05-20T16:19:59Z

Dissertacao Karina Socal Cervo.pdf: 799786 bytes, checksum: d88d5dc147cf0bad8e9c083dcdc45b3b (MD5) / This dissertation has as object the basic right for work and its multiple dimensions. In the Federal Constitution of 1988, the work is one of the beddings of the Democratic State of Right (art. 1º, IV), a basic right the installments (article 6º), a bedding of the economic order (article 170, caput) and base of the social order (article 193). Not withstanding this position normativelly detached, the Constitution did not specify the content and range of the basic right for work. The specification requires an analytical and constructive work of the Constitution interpreters. In this inquiry, the analytical method is used, priorizing the dogmatic study of the basic right for work, with the materials from the sources of law, specialized literature and jurisprudence. Each one of the of basic right for work dimensions was studied where it can be unfold, that is, while right of protection, counsel, organization and to procedure and installment in strict sense. The minimum content of the basic right to the work is delimited, what prima facie can be demanded from State. Narrow existing connection is identified between the basic right for work and the principle of the human being dignity. It demonstrates that one is affected when the real value of another is not recognized and promoted. The promotion and effectiveness of the right for work imply the aid to compensation of social inequalities, in exercise of real and effective freedom and of equality and, consequently, in the enjoyment of life dignity. However, it is not enough to recognize work as the value of basic right, but is necessary to become it viable. In this context, the main today existing public politics in the area of right for work are analyzed. Systematic, efficient and including public politics are necessary condition for the satisfaction of basic right for work.

Previous issue date: 2011-12-19 / Coordena??o de Aperfei?oamento de Pessoal de N?vel Superior / This work aims to show that the protection of the employment relation is one of the
determining factors to respect the principle of the human dignity. The goal is initially to show
the devaluation of work from antiquity to the early twentieth century, when the constitutions
began to standardize protective devices. This way, the consecration of the social labor rights
in the Constitution of 1988 represents the culmination of the historical achievements. This
work demonstrates that such rights can not be reduced or suppressed by political
conveniences, once these rights are included in the list of immutable clauses. It is displayed
that to achieve the fundamental right to work is not well advised to encourage the creation of
jobs that maculates the worker s dignity. The outsourced work is, therefore, a classic example
of the advancement of precarious forms of contemporary labor. It is inferred that the presence
of various forms of harassment results in a degradation of working environment, bringing
about dire consequences on professional and personal life of the worker. Thus, decent work
must be the appropriate benchmark for the creation of new jobs. It is also shown that the
flexibilization of the propaganda rights by certain pressure groups has as main goal to reduce
or eliminate rights, based on fallacious data depicting an increase of competitiveness and jobs.
In addition, the flexibility implies a growth of the precarization of the work - a reality felt by
many workers subjected to such a situation due to the unemployment phenomenon whose
origin is not in the protectionism of the norms. It is necessary to expand and structure the
constitutionally legitimate institutions to monitor and curb the precarized work, as well as all
practices that go against the dignity of the worker. It is also shown the loss of power of the
sindicates in the last few years as a consequence of the pulverization workes and the capital
attacks through the productive restructure whose outsourcings and privatizations are notorious
inicialmente, mostrar a desvaloriza??o do trabalho desde a antig?idade at? o in?cio do s?culo
XX, quando as constitui??es come?aram a normatizar dispositivos protetores. Desse modo, a
vida profissional e pessoal do obreiro.
? necess?rio ampliar e
estruturar as institui??es constitucionalmente legitimadas a fiscalizar e coibir o trabalho
cujas terceiriza??es e privatiza??es constituem exemplos not?rios
