Villela, Felipe Stiebler Leite 13 May 2010 (has links)

No. of bitstreams: 1 Felipe Stiebler Leite Villela.pdf: 705300 bytes, checksum: 54fd4954f58d8d697f4def478d2f7044 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2010-05-13 / The present study intended an approach between Heidegger´s thoughts in Being and time and Dante´s poetry in Divine comedy. The approach aroused from the knowledge that both works bring a comprehension of the human existence, each one in a proper way. In order to accomplish that it was necessary a non dogmatic reading of Divine comedy, that is, a non certain reading by any religious dogmatism. This approach was organized in four main points where we found accordance in both works. That is: Care and Way ; Falling and Perdition ; Temporality and Eternity and Authenticity and Salvation . In each one of those topics it was possible from the approach between both works an amplification of Dante´s poetic images and Heidegger´s concepts. With the development of the approach, we came across that the guilt concept has a central part in Divine comedy as much as in Being and time. The approach between those works, as well as its readings, is one among many others possible. This study did not intend to be more than the beginning of a conversation between Martin Heidegger s thought and Dante Alighieri s poetry / O presente estudo pretendeu uma aproximação entre o pensamento heideggeriano de Ser e tempo e a poética dantesca da Divina comédia.

A phenomenological ontology of freedom : obscuration and the light

Al-Saraf, Ethar January 2018 (has links)
The thesis argues that for Jean-Paul Sartre and Martin Heidegger, the free will debate has been rendered intractable by a fundamental misunderstanding of the terms involved. This is exacerbated by a failure to identify and adopt an appropriate methodological approach to the problem. Both philosophers argue that this error in the free will debate is symptomatic of a broader misunderstanding of philosophical enquiry and the method it necessitates. For Heidegger, the entire history of ‘analytic/western' ontology has been fatally misconceived as a result of an effort to define the being of entities in static terms. The insistence on the question of what a being ‘is' obstructs any meaningful enquiry by conceding its existence at the outset of the investigation. Sartre's project is founded on Heidegger's argument, pushing it into a definitive claim about the nature of consciousness. He argues that as the only being for whom ‘meaning' is possible, consciousness is distanced from beings by ‘nothingness' which ensures its ontological freedom. The thesis will argue that Sartre has misconstrued Heidegger's work, making comprehension of his freedom all the more complicated. We propose that a thorough investigation of their projects will reveal an account of ontological freedom that does not suffer from the shortcomings of existentialism whilst avoiding the methodological missteps of the traditional discourse.

The study articulates the themes of ontology of space and the dichotomy between Physical Geography and Human Geography in the renewal movement critical of Brazilian geography. Seeks to demonstrate that there is a link between, on the one hand, the position taken by this part of Brazilian geography forward that dichotomy, and on the other hand, the ontological reflection about the object of discipline, directly influenced by Marxism. Indicates how alternative field of ontological thinking approach of the German philosopher Martin Heidegger on the question of being, especially within the scope and centrality of this issue in the work of that philosopher s perspective the question of technique, redefining the notion of production, would provide a horizon alternative ontology in geography capable, it is suggested, opening the question of being as a question to be thought

Phenomenological qualitative research approach, which used as a theoretical and methodological framework philosophy of Martin Heidegger expressed in his work Being and Time. The expressed by teachers was captured by phenomenological interview scheduled with each teacher and analyzed by ontic instance as regards the vague understanding and median. Five units of meanings emerged: US1 - mental health is natural phenomenon that manifests itself in the freedom to be and how to be with each other in a balanced relationship. US3 - mental health is revealed in everyday nursing practice in different stages of life in a given occupation simply. US4 - Mental Health manifested in the training process as a secondary event. US5 - how to be a teacher in their life experience influences relations with each other in the training process. The revealed in the study, through what was spoken, perceived and experienced, expressed concern that mental health is an event, however this does not constitute as possibilities, ie, there is an early occupation of mental health as content formal study of this or that activity. It is possible that teachers in their way of being able to open up again, launch into the world and promote changes in the daily training of nurses, taking care of mental health, because even without this in the syllabus content there the recognition of its existence and its importance in the temporality of life of the people.

The present work develops some essential issues of philosophical hermeneutics as a way to fundament human rights in its ethical determination. The discussion is conducted as a hypothesis to face two problems: the representational model of the contemporary scientia juris and its methodologized way of interpretation may not fundament human rights in its proper reason of being. Still, as a consequence, these two problems might be seen as one of the causes to a “rational” but innocuous criticism about human rights as well. Therefore, the philosophical sense of the quotidian – of the “common” – is here discussed as a proper way to analyze the practical routine of law´s everyday interpreters as a pragmatic way to justify the need for human rights in a contemporary law practice. To discuss it, the thematic of intuition is here worked in its existential basis: so, in that way, human rights can be apologized as a substantive part of our intuitions about what is the most fair. Moreover, these fundamental rights can be even thought as a practical way to find out, normatively, the best right – the best law for our epoch. Heidegger leads us to investigate human rights as a necessary event for our time by its ethical significance. In other words: these rights constitute part of the movement of our being-with in its symbolic and suggestive significances. Gadamer help us to interpret that radical philosophical way by hermeneutic terms: to the law reality that idea can be seen as a re-turn to some lost concepts of our humanistic culture. With Gadamer we still can affirm that law is a practical “philosophy” in its most fundamental determinations. Therefore, the Greek disposition for the phronésis is, nowadays, a proper way to see human rights as an ethical manifestation for the best, for the most fundamental goods. Still through the philosophical hermeneutic ideas, we conclude the work with a more specific discussion about the relations between our intuitions, convictions and our pre-conceptual structure which determines the worldness of our concepts into Law´s social practice.

Poème et mathème dans la clinique psychanalytique : études sur la relation mathème-poème à travers de la lettre / Poem and mathem in the psychoanalytic clinic : research on the relationship mathem-poem through the letter

Gómez Camarena, Carlos Guillermo 05 May 2018 (has links)
There is no doubt that plenty has been said about the place of mathematics and poetry in the work of Jacques Lacan. On the one hand mathematics is often convoked as a heuristic tool for psychoanalysis. On the other, many books have been written in order to clarify the relationship between psychoanalysis and poetry. However, references to the articulation of poetry and mathematics remain marginal. After an epistemological and ontological problematisation of this articulation in Lacan’s work, we explore the different links that Lacan makes between science and psychoanalysis. Here we find two platforms where Lacan mobilises an approach to poetry and mathematics. The first one is the mathem as an alternative to the heideggerian poem, a shift that allows a deontologization of psychoanalysis. The second one consists of Plato’s evicted poets repatriation to the psychoanalytical field. Taking into account what Freud said about both disciplines –especially poetry– we trace the trajectory of the usages and functions of mathematics in relation to the poetic elements that Lacan developed throughout his work in order to discuss its theoretical, practical and clinical pertinence. As such, this research is structured in two sections consisting of four parts each. The first one, entitled Mathematics or Mathem stands for Formalisation, Mathem, Diagrams and Mathematical objects/themes. The second one, entitled Poetry or Poem, is composed of four subsets: Literature, Art, Aesthetics and Creation. Finally, we expose three “cases” of articulation between Mathem and Poem extracted from Lacan’s work.

Corrales Sepúlveda, Gonzalo Andrés 20 November 2012 (has links)
The main objective of this doctoral thesis is trying to establish an approximation between the philosophical programmes of Wittgenstein and Heidegger, particularly concerning the degree of influence of both of them as regards the abandonment of modern foundational reason and the arrival to the postmodern linguistic and pragmatic foundation. The axis Wittgenstein – Heidegger is used as a benchmark to analyze the transformation that takes place in twentieth-century philosophy with the so-called linguistic turn. The first chapter provides the historical contextualization of both hermeneutical and analytical traditions. Reference is made to their respective origins and evolution up to the twentieth century. Keeping in mind the above mentioned the second chapter presents the confrontation of the two emblematic figures of each tradition: Wittgenstein and Heidegger, having as main referent their attack to the modern foundational reason. If both of them attack modern reason as a foundation, where is the justification of our ethical and epistemical practices? Within this context, it is easy to recognize the appearance of nihilism, which is the topic of the third chapter. Whereas the fourth chapter attempts to show the new base foundation of our practices from the reading of Wittgenstein's Untersuchungen and the Heidegger 1930's onwards.

Lapointe, Francis January 2008 (has links) (PDF)

Deep ecology and Heideggerian phenomenology [electronic resource] / by Matthew Antolick.

Antolick, Matthew. January 2003 (has links)
Title from PDF of title page. / Document formatted into pages; contains 90 pages. / Thesis (M.A.)--University of South Florida, 2003. / Includes bibliographical references. / Text (Electronic thesis) in PDF format. / ABSTRACT: This thesis examines the connections between Arne Naess's Deep Ecology and Martin Heidegger's Phenomenology. The latter provides a philosophical basis for the former. Martin Heidegger's critique of traditional metaphysics and his call for an "event" ontology that is deeper than the traditional substance ontology opens a philosophical space in which a different conception of what it is to be emerges. Heidegger's view of humans also provides a basis for the wider and deeper conception of self Arne Naess seeks: one that gets rid of the presupposition that human beings are isolated subjects embedded in a framework of objects distinct from them. Both Heidegger and Naess illustrate how the substance-ontological dogma affects human culture, encouraging humans to live as if they were divorced from their environmental surroundings. / ABSTRACT: When humans live according to an atomistic conception of themselves as independent from their context, alienation results, not only from each other, and not only of humans from the surrounding environment, but from themselves as well. This thesis focuses on Heidegger's employment of the conception of poiesis or self-bringing-forth as clarifying the "root" of such ecosystemic processes as growth, maturation, reproduction, and death. Thus, Heidegger's call to phenomenology -- "to the things themselves" -- is a call away from the objectifying dichotomies through which substance ontology articulates the world into isolated components. / ABSTRACT: It is the purpose of this thesis to demonstrate not only the connections between the later Heidegger and Naess, but also to argue in favor of their claims that traditional philosophical perspectives regarding humans, the environment, and ethics need to be re-appropriated in a new way in order to avoid further ecological degradation and provide for the health and well being of the future generations that will inevitably inherit the effects of our present actions. / System requirements: World Wide Web browser and PDF reader. / Mode of access: World Wide Web.
