Patient Data Management System (PDMS) : Anestesi- och intensivvårdspersonalens upplevelser av implementering och arbete med PDMS / Patient Data Management System (PDMS) : Anesthesia- and intensive care staff experiences of implementation and work with PDMS

Ortscheid, Julius, Jensen, Thomas January 2017 (has links)
Title: Patient Data Management System (PDMS) – Anesthesia- and intensive care staff experiences of implementation and work with PDMS. Background: Todays and future healthcare means an increasing use of digital systems in nursing care. Patient Data Management System (PDMS) is a clinical information system and clinical decision support which is implemented in swedish hospitals. Previous research shows different experiences of digital systems impact on nursing care, workload and patient safety. Aim: The purpose was to describe anesthesia- and intensive care unit staff experiences of implementation and work with PDMS. Method: The study was conducted by interviews with a qualitative approach. Results: In the result four themes appear, process of introduction, serviceability, transfer of information and patient safety. The four themes depict the anesthesia- and intensive care unit staff experiences of the implementation and work with PDMS. Conclusion: PDMS is implemented in an increasing number of swedish hospitals. The anesthesia- and intensive care unit staff consider it very important with information and education before implementation of PDMS. The comprehensive view on the hospitals computer system is important due to the fact that these systems appear not to always be in synchronization with each other. That leads to an increased workload and also an increased risk regarding patient safety. More research on the PDMS impact on nursing and patient safety are needed.

As open systems, organizations are constantly subject to environments demands, which generates a growing need for adaptation. The implementation of normalized management systems is one of the environments demands, aiming at establishing a good relationship with a variety of stakeholders, such as society, employees and clients. Due to the diversity of stakeholderss expections, the organizations have attempted to implement several normalized management systems, generating difficulties concerning their parallel management. Given this scenario the Integrated Management Systems (IMS) have arisen to coordinate various management systems adopted by the organizations, increasing efficiency, reducing costs and eliminating redundances. Several researchers aiming at facilitating integration have developed models concerning both integration of standard requirements and implementation of an IMS. Empirical researches have also allowed for studies on the subject, but they have failed to demonstrate the management systems integration process in detail. By means of a case study method this dissertation proposes an analysis of the management systems integration process considering three variables: process of IMS implementation, integration of the standards requirements and structure of the IMS management. The scope of this research comprised the study of the integration of two specific management systems: ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001. The results have showed several similarities as the steps taken by the organizations to implement the IMS as well as the characteristics of the documents developed by the companies to meet the standards. They have also allowed observing that integration is influenced by several organizational variables, as corporate standards and number of employees, which influence the integration of documentation and complexity of IMS management structure, respectively. Opportunities for further investigations to improve the integration among departments have also been identified. Such an improvement can be achieved by the establishment of procedures to solve conflicts among these departments.

A Study of Application of RCM in the Steel Plant

Wu, Chin-Wen 28 June 2012 (has links)
The management of equipment based on Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) has been widely applied with great success in several industries such as military, commodity production, civil airliners, nuclear power plant and the petroleum industry since the reprint of RCM-II written by John Moubray in 1997.The application of RCM not only increases the reliability of the equipment and the assets of a company but also promotes the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE), which includes the excellent ok yield to order and the better productivity of the equipment. As a methodology, RCM differs from the traditional equipment maintenance in the aspect of emphasis of maintaining the ¡§function¡¨ of the equipment instead of the equipment itself. Therefore, the need of equipment maintenance results from the speed and the severity of function loss, which determines the strategy and interval of equipment maintenance. This is the major difference between RCM and time based maintenance (TBM). This article discusses the critical success factors that drive the application of RCM in steel plant. The result reveals that the application of RCM could promote the reliability of equipment, cut the cost of maintenance and increase compatibility of the steel plant. In order to facilitates the implementation of RCM in the steel mill, the basic skills of the management includes the construction of vision¡Bconsensus¡Bthe set up of regulation and the cultivation of innovating culture. so as to build an effective managing teamwork features in strong execution. As for the equipment management both the standardization and the strict deviation of equipment function(6£m) are vital to sustain the excellent equipment reliability. The Integration of Maintenance Management System(IMMS) consists of three components, CMMS(Computerized Maintenance Management System) and RTMS(Real Time Monitoring System) link by RCM. RCM acts as a bridge for the information flow of maintenance management in the IMMS and promotes the effectiveness of maintenance management.

Design of Distribution Transformer Management System to Support Demand Response for Smart Grids

Ku, Te-Tien 03 September 2012 (has links)
In this dissertation, the transformer management system has been developed to monitor transformer over loading and generate warning message in conduit mapping management system (CMMS) of Taipower company. The transformer over loading prediction is performed by both offline and online modes. Performs the transformer loading estimation by using the customer monthly energy consumption in customer information system (CIS) and the connectivity attributes of transformer and customers served in CMMS system of Taipower company. The daily load curve of distribution transformer is derived considering the typical daily load patterns which have been developed in load survey study. The warning message will be generated when the peak loading estimated is lager then the transformer rated capacity. To enhance the accuracy of transformer attributes in CMMS system, the transformer phasing measurement system (TPMS) and the connectivity identification system to identify all of the customers served by each transformer are developed. It is difficult to receive the 1 pulse per second signal form global positioning system for timing synchronization of TPMS measuring units for phasing measurement of transformers located in basement, the temperature compensated crystal oscillation with Fuzzy calibration algorithm is used to maintain the timing synchronization within 10o deviation for measurement period of 2 hours. To solve the incorrect problem of transformer and customer connectivity in CMMS, the power line carrier technology is applied in the design of connectivity measurement system for the identification of customers served by the transformer. The peak loading of transformer is estimated by including the temperature effect and the overloading flag of transformer is displayed on the CMMS automatic mapping system. For the online TLM system, the embedded transformer terminal unit is developed for the real time measurement of transformer loading and insulation oil temperature. For the transformer with abnormal operation condition, the alarm signals will be generated and transmitted to the TLM master station via hybrid communication system for the activation of demand response function to execute the load shedding control of customer loads.

Discovering Discussion Activity Flows in an On-line Forum Using Data Mining Techniques

Hsieh, Lu-shih 22 July 2008 (has links)
In the Internet era, more and more courses are taught through a course management system (CMS) or learning management system (LMS). In an asynchronous virtual learning environment, an instructor has the need to beware the progress of discussions in forums, and may intervene if ecessary in order to facilitate students¡¦ learning. This research proposes a discussion forum activity flow tracking system, called FAFT (Forum Activity Flow Tracer), to utomatically monitor the discussion activity flow of threaded forum postings in CMS/LMS. As CMS/LMS is getting popular in facilitating learning activities, the proposedFAFT can be used to facilitate instructors to identify students¡¦ interaction types in discussion forums. FAFT adopts modern data/text mining techniques to discover the patterns of forum discussion activity flows, which can be used for instructors to facilitate the online learning activities. FAFT consists of two subsystems: activity classification (AC) and activity flow discovery (AFD). A posting can be perceived as a type of announcement, questioning, clarification, interpretation, conflict, or assertion. AC adopts a cascade model to classify various activitytypes of posts in a discussion thread. The empirical evaluation of the classified types from a repository of postings in earth science on-line courses in a senior high school shows that AC can effectively facilitate the coding rocess, and the cascade model can deal with the imbalanced distribution nature of discussion postings. AFD adopts a hidden Markov model (HMM) to discover the activity flows. A discussion activity flow can be presented as a hidden Markov model (HMM) diagram that an instructor can adopt to predict which iscussion activity flow type of a discussion thread may be followed. The empirical results of the HMM from an online forum in earth science subject in a senior high school show that FAFT can effectively predict the type of a discussion activity flow. Thus, the proposed FAFT can be embedded in a course management system to automatically predict the activity flow type of a discussion thread, and in turn reduce the teachers¡¦ loads on managing online discussion forums.

Sistemos architektūra, grindžiama žinių valdymo procesais / A system architecture centred on knowledge management processes

Belevičiūtė, Inga 21 November 2008 (has links)
Disertaciją Sistemos architektūra, grindžiamos žinių valdymo procesais sudaro šie skyriai: 1. Įvadas. 2. Žinių valdymas bei žinių valdymo technologijos. 3. Žinių valdymo sistemų ir jų architektūrų analizė. 4. Sistemos architektūra, grindžiamos žinių valdymo procesais. 5. Žinių valdymo sistemos taikymas organizacijose. 6. Savivaldybių atliekų tvarkymo sistemų valdymas (Alytaus miesto savivaldybės pavyzdžiu) / Administration of municipal waste management systems (on the basis of Alytus city example)

Mačernienė, Vida 17 January 2007 (has links)
Waste management is one of the priority trends in the field of the environment protection in Lithuania. Special attention is currently paid to collection of domestic waste, reprocessing of raw material, handling of dumping sites and establishment of hazardous waste management system. Domestic waste constitutes the waste accumulated in our household. Municipality institutions are the key chain organising the management of domestic waste generated within the corresponding territory. They carry responsibility for regulation, establishment (development) and administration of this waste management system within the territory under their subordination and the usage of this system is mandatory for the local residents and economic entities within these territories. The analysis of legal documents regulating waste management indicated that the concept of regional waste management system, its establishment and management form, functions and competence is not precisely defined in the legislation. Considering the major principle „polluter pays“ applicable in the field of waste management more discussions are being raised regarding manufacturer‘s responsibility for handling packaging and defraying the costs for this waste as well as waste management on the municipal level. Regardless the fact that the tasks set for the municipalities are well implemented at the municipality of Alytus city in comparison with other big cities of Lithuania, still they are not fully achieved and their... Rückführung von User Generated Content in Lernmaterialien

Lorenz, Anja 12 January 2012 (has links) (PDF)

Lorenz, Anja 12 January 2012 (has links) (PDF)
