Systemet innefattar: SMS-tjänst, automatiskt utskick, hanteringen för lager, projekt, kunder och semester, kontinuerlig statistik med grafiska diagram samt utskriftsfunktioner. Allt är utvecklat i PHP och MySQL. / The system simplifies the management and information, about time reports, projects, customers, storage and employees. The main purpose for this system is that the company shall have a more structured overview about their company, and where all the information is gathered, at the same spot. The employees are able to report in their working progress during the week, in a simple easy way trough the internet. The system contains a SMS service, automatically circular messages, management of storage, projects, clients and employees vacations. The system also contains continuous dynamic statistics, with graphical layout and also print functionality. This thesis will look into what kind of solutions a company or a private person can use if they want to create a dynamic website using only free software. To do this we divided our work in two parts. In the first part, we developed a dynamic website for a Swedish company. On the server side we used exclusively free software with open source code. There are different meanings in how the term “free” should be used when referring to software, which we will explain in the thesis. We have also chosen to work with the XMLtechnology to see if it lives up to its expectations and to see if we could benefit from the technology. Alongside with the development of our site, another company developed a site for the same company as us, by using non-free software. We have described both implementations and compared them to see if it is possible to do the same thing with both free and non-free software. The investigating part of our work consisted of getting information about what other people think about the free software phenomenon. To do so we created an online questionnaire where we randomly picked 100 Swedish web agencies and asked them to answer 8 questions about what kind of software they used in their company, and what they thought about free software. To get some more opinions we also interviewed two persons involved in these kinds of topics. Jan Sandred, who is a well known expert advisor in topics concerning the Information Technology area and Richard Stallman, the founder of GNU and the Free Software Movement. The reason for dividing the thesis in two parts was to get an overall picture on the subject. We did not only want to base our results on other people’s thoughts. We wanted to make our own conclusions based on the implementation we did. This approach showed out to be very good. We got to try working with free software ourselves to see its pros and cons and build our own opinions about it. We could then proceed to compare our impressions to other people’s impressions about free software.

Eclipse is one of the mostly used software in professional development of programming applications and software solutions. It is open source software and provides extensive availability of free libraries. In this thesis work, Eclipse was studied for Java applications development. To enhance the study and to get hands on experience over Eclipse IDE, an application was developed using Java programming language. The proposed application is a desktop application that can be used on all modern operating systems. Application was developed using Java SE (standard edition) version 1.7, which is the latest version available from Oracle Corporation. Java Swing API has been used for building GUI (graphical user interface) of the application. Database for event credentials was developed by MySQL database management system. The connection between application and database has been done through Java database connectivity JDBC. Precis som titeln avslöjar så handlar rapporten om att ta fram en AJAX-driven webbapplikation för sökning av sålda fastigheter. Gota Media AB har idag tillgång till en stor mängd lagrad information om sålda fastigheter i form av XML som kommer från Lantmäteriet. Enligt Gota Media så finns det ett stort behov av att skapa en sökbar webbapplikation till de nättidningar som de tillhandahåller som presenterar informationen för deras läsare. Syftet är att visa hur utvecklingen kan underlättas med hjälp av ramverket CodeIgniter och att ge svar på ett antal frågeställningar om hur webbapplikationen kan utvecklas för att uppfylla ett flertal krav från kunden. Genom att använda CodeIgniter tillsammans med ett flertal tekniker som Google Maps, CURL, AJAX och jQuery så kunde samtliga baskrav från kunden uppfyllas och ett bra resultat presenteras i form av en fullt fungerande webbapplikation. / Just as the title indicates this report is about making an AJAX driven web application for searching sold real estates. Today Gota Media AB has access to a large amount of information about sold real estates in XML format that comes from Lantmäteriet. According to Gota Media there is a great need to create a searchable web application for the online magazines that they provide to present the information to their readers. The aim of this report is to show how the development can be facilitated using the framework CodeIgniter and to provide answer to a number of question formulations on how the web application can be developed to meet several requirements from the customer. By way of using CodeIgniter with a majority group of techniques such as Google Maps, CURL, AJAX and jQuery all of the base requirements where implemented and a good result were presented in the form of a fully functional web application.

Phos Graphis är en mötesplats för fotografer och modeller. Denna mötesplats ska fungera som en grund för att hitta den medpart man söker, t.ex. en fotograf som letar efter en modell till ett projekt. Användarna erbjuds även egna gallerier och möjligheter att diskutera i forum samt privat meddelandefunktionalitet. Grundtanken är att Phos Graphis ska fungera som ett verktyg för att lättare kunna utvecklas inom sin roll.

Smakbas – Gourmet Grön är en webbplats som ska kommunicera den gröna maten och marknadsföra Gourmet Gröns smakbaser. Webbplatsen innehåller information och bakgrund om smakbaserna, samt hur man jobbar med dem. Det finns även en lite annorlunda receptbank där besökaren kan titta på recept. / Detta är en reflektion på en digital medieproduktion.

Sellout är ett community där medlemmarna har en presentationssida, en gästbok, ett bildgalleri och en dagbok. Det finns även ett forum, där medlemmarna kan diskutera med varandra om allt mellan himmel och jord. Det som skiljer vårt community från andra är att medlemmarna även kan lägga upp bilder och beskrivningar på saker de vill sälja, tipsa om och söka efter musikevenemang, och de kan också få sina demolåtar spelade i vår webbradio. I’ve built an Internet based administration front-end for the company Allt I Brand in Jamjö. Allt I Brand’s main goals are maintenance and sale of fire preventive equipment. This front-end is programmed mostly in PHP, connected to a MySQL database. Because both Allt I Brand’s main page and my administration front-end use the same database and the database is designed to virtually fit any type of company, the result is both dynamic and powerful. The front-end design is made to make it easy to understand and nice to look at. The functionality has given my client the power to manage their main page on their own. The result, a complete administration system. / Jag har tillverkat ett Internetbaserat administrations gränssnitt åt företaget Allt I Brand i Jämjö. Allt I Brand är ett företag som är inriktat på underhåll och försäljning av brandförebyggande utrustning. Detta administrations gränssnitt är programmerat till största delen i PHP som är kopplat till en MySQL databas. Eftersom både Allt I Brand´s huvudsida och mitt administrations gränssnitt använder samma databas och databasen är designad så att den kan passa till olika sorters företag så blir resultatet både dynamiskt och kraftfullt. Designen på administration sidan är gjord så att det ska vara lätt att förstå och trevligt att se på. Funktionaliteten har givit min kund kraften att själv sköta och underhålla sin huvudsida.
