Reprezentace šoa: dětská literatura a literatura o dětech / The Representation of Shoah: Children Writing the Holocaust

Vlasáková, Šárka January 2012 (has links)
Aim of this diploma thesis is to compare different forms of narrating of the holocaust through Children's eyes. Pure child's narration has much bigger impact on reader than narration of an adult, enriched with metaphors and attributes. In this way child's point of view extends the ethical dimension of holocaust narration. We will examine the discourse of child's narration in three diaries (The Diary of David Sierakowiak, The Diary of Mary Berg, The Beautiful Days of My Youth by Ana Novac), one Fictional diary (The Unloved. From the Diary of Perla S. by Arnošt Lustig) and a novella (Child of the Shadows by Henryk Grynberg). Children's narrators of the holocaust are characterized by psychological maturity, which contrasts with their official age. On the other hand they reveal childishness, while growing up, because of their unfinished childhood. In those books we will examine changing of the narrators discourse and his depiction of space (ghetto, concentration camp, shelter) and persons (family, friend, Nazis). We will also focus on distinct motives that form these books (e.g.: hunger, guilt, comic, Paradise, game).

Proměny vypravěče v próze Jaromíra Johna / Metamorphoses of Narrator in Novels of Jaromír John

Kleňha, Petr January 2011 (has links)
Metamorphoses of Narrator in Novels of Jaromír John This diploma paper focuses on the function of the narrator and his various forms in John's prosaic work. It deals with the issue of the construction of the fictional world and how the narrator influences the reader's understanding of the described events. Primarily, we try to compare the narrative categories of the main contemporary concepts as influenced by Shlomith Rimmon-Kenan, Franz Stanzel and Lubomír Doležel. It is our terminology base. Theoretical understanding of the narrator is the basis for the analysis of John's fiction from the aspect of narrative types applied to a selected sample of author's works: the anthology of the tales with war theme Večery na slamníku, novels Moudrý Engelbert, Výbušný zlotvor, Pampovánek, Honda Cibulků; marginally Estét and other works. Concurrently this work aims to describe construction methods that are typical for John's creative style - it is mainly the use of irony, the principle of collage and documentary elements. It shows that the author's work at that time belonged to the experimental stream of Czech prose. Also, we observe the relationship between author's prose work and his aesthetic concept. We hope that we were able to, at least partially, explain the literary style of Jaromir John. His importance and...

Role pisatele ve vybraných autotematických románech / Role of a writer in selected metafictional novels

Šulcová, Eva January 2013 (has links)
The role of a writer in selected metafictional novels Bc. Eva Šulcová Abstract This diploma thesis deals with the genre of metafictional novel. The aim of the diploma thesis is to identify various internal motivations for the usage of metafiction technique in literature and to describe the role of a writer. The first part summarizes the theoretical background of the genre and formulates some characteristic features of metafictional novel (emphasized vicariousness of the narrative, reflection of the creative act, personality of the writer, or the problematized relationship between reality and fiction), which were all illustrated by the analysis of André Gide's novel The Counterfeiters. The second part consists of interpretations of three metafictional novels. The interpretations aim at a complex analysis of the author and at a description of various functions of the metafiction technique as a constituent of the work's meaning. Gide uses metafiction to display the discrepancy between reality and illusion, thus uncovering hypocrisies of society and passing judgement on it. To Čapek, metafiction is a tool for applying multiperspectivity to his storyline, thus creating a metaphor of varying epistemic principles. Metafictional genre was further utilized by Řezáč in his novel Rozhraní to illustrate the polarity...

The understanding of the work designed by us as fictional trans interested in with regard to how the empirical reality is translated by the books (and Boiada 1 Boiada 2) and transformed by the antics of the fictional narrator-traveler, reader, creator and witness simultaneously. The emergence of history, from the perspective of the author diplomat, pointed to the difference reflected in latu and strict sense - the movement of time and space travel through the memory in fable flow of images and maps of the rich nature of the Hinterland Miner. Scenarios and field trials of poetic language in the telling of stories in sync. In this deployment of meta-narratives, the dialogism is the method that implements the parallel tale books and field - between the last collection (Travel, 1952) and present the report (in constant update.) The major effect is marked by the journey of the invention (Seven Stories and seven Messegers), through the other, human and geographical otherness that are meant to represent and refract the author's intentions in terms of a universal message: "O Recado do Morro , o Morro da Garça in the region of Cordisburgo in trans poetry to" The Scrap of Earth. " In the dynamics of travel, the polyphonic narrative finds its dual core, the poetic and linguistic identity uniqueness Rosa, once degenerated by the memory flow, point to the utopia of this unfinished the work in virtual coexistence and current. These are the basic principles raised by the reading of discovery and invention, crossing, contemplation and interactivity, this dissertation / O objetivo geral do estudo do conto O Recado do Morro , do escritor João Guimarães Rosa (1908-1963), integrado à antologia Corpo de Baile (1956), é elucidar o trabalho de hibridação da forma, estrutura e linguagem do conto com os dados das Cadernetas de Campo do viajante autor e a narrativa relatada em processo de criação.

Bergamim, Claudia Regina 12 December 2006 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-28T19:59:01Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Claudia Regina Bergamin.pdf: 789445 bytes, checksum: 64d70939f30099555c66dfb85d3745b9 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2006-12-12 / We emphasize the narrator s work in the storytelling to show how contemporary fiction uses the aesthetic resource in its representation. For that end, we intend to investigate the effect of having two narrators in the novel Nove noites, by Bernardo Carvalho, published by Companhia Das Letras, in 2002. From the report of each narrator we will observe the marks that characterize their speeches in order to define the role of this fictional component. We will also consider the changes that have taken the aesthetic components to alternative positions inside the story, as a way to cunningly place in the art of telling stories. We also hope to show how this modern-day-narrator s speech can produce a text that mixes real and imaginary friends and not break up its commitment to fiction. Bernardo Carvalho presents himself as a writer who is conscious of the literary work and his work elevates lose the reader as he follows the text, or maybe this is just a way to disguise the absence of a meaning. In that aspect, the narrator is the component who shows a proposal of a story with such characteristics once he is a fictional space, in a position that is very different from that of the experienced storyteller who used to add his wisdom to the text. From an angle that allows us to identify him with the reader, for he also takes the position of a reader, the narrator highlights the importance of the character and subtracts himself from the story he told. However, his imagination and creativity do not let us fail to see his presence in the story / Ao dar ênfase ao estudo do narrador dentre os elementos da narrativa, espera-se mostrar, com esta dissertação, como a ficção contemporânea dispõe desse recurso estético e de suas formas de representação.

Casmurro's speech, as an I mask, which unroll itself in three personas: Casmurro as an author, narrator and as a character, Bentinho. This expansion creates a correlation with the operistic tripartite structure, whose authorship is shared among the playwriter, the librettist and the musician, besides, it appears in the novel in chapters VIII - It's time , IX - The Opera and X Accepted the Theory , in which the narrator approches his life to an operistic spectacle. This operistic drama element in DC's structure, has been the target not only for the critics as we´ll see in chapter 2, but also for composers like João Gomes Jr., who had transformed DC in a theater show. The music score belongs to him, but the libretto was written by Antonio Picarollo, which could be found in the music section of Rio de janeiro's nacional library. To reach our goal and to be able of demonstrating the operistic scene built by the casmurro-author, we started with Machado de Assis' experience in the theater, trying to show to our reader how the author experienced his life that later he wrote in the novel. In chapter 2, we will recuperate the literary censorious' voice, because they analysed the opera that appears inside the novel, giving a special view of the methaphor and alegory that could be seen in DC. In chapter 3, the central focus will be the opera, its parts and relations with DC, showing how the overture, arias, intermezzos, preludes and leitmotifs are written in the narrative.

Spinelli, Daniela 16 May 2008 (has links)
Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-28T19:59:10Z (GMT). No. of bitstreams: 1 Daniela Spinelli.pdf: 620338 bytes, checksum: 71c7fd7169ba0a299d3233095c6e382c (MD5) Previous issue date: 2008-05-16 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The main purpose of this Master's Degree thesis, in which the object of investigation is Clarice Lispector s The Hour of the Star, is to analyse the relationship between Rodrigo S.M. and Macabéa, respectively the narrator and the protagonist of this novel. In light of the established criticism of this piece of literature, we attempt to uncover what innovative ideas the story of Macabéa brings to the Clarice Lispector literary project. The Hour of the Star re-calibrated the literary form developed by the writer the moment the misery of Macabéa became the central theme of the novel. Through careful examination of the events of Macabéa s life, a Young woman, orignally from the northeast of Brazil, that works as typist despite being semi-illiterate, who later lives in Rio de Janeiro, we attempt to better comprehend the perspective of Rodrigo S.M., narrator/character of the novel. Following this examination it becomes evident that the narrator is committed to material issues such as class, culture and his profession as a writer. One issue faced by Clarice Lispector, as with other writers, is to find a literary form with which to represent this historic time in Brazilian history that was marked by a military dictatorship. Far from only being a discussion centered on the representation of material content, The Hour of the Star is the moment in Clarice Lispector s body of literary work where her writing gains weight and density in a mature and conscience way. In this context, it is necessary to analyse Rodrigo S.M. as a formal solution of a novel that accomplished a settlement with its time and its social experience. The reader of the novel, cannot forget that the caracters of The Hour of the Star, as well the narrator are, for Clarice Lispector, figures of a piece of literarture that eagerly desire to respond to its time and to the social experience that inspired her / Esta dissertação de mestrado, cujo objeto de investigação é A Hora da Estrela, de Clarice Lispector, visa analisar as relações entre Rodrigo S.M. e Macabéa, respectivamente narrador e protagonista desse romance.
