Le rôle du juriste et diplomate Wilhelm Grewe / In Quest of West German Sovereignty and Integration into the West (1948-1955). Wilhelm Grewe’s Role as a German Diplomat and Professor of International Law / Auf dem Weg zu Souveränität und Westintegration (1948-1955). Der Beitrag des Völkerrechtlers und Diplomaten Wilhelm GreweLambertz, Ruth 11 September 2012 (has links)
The period from 1948 to 1955 was crucial for West Germany's attempts to regain her sovereignty and to achieve her integration into the West. During that time the three zones placed under the Supreme Authority of the Western Allies gradually progressed to becoming a (quasi) sovereign state and a full member of NATO.Wilhelm Grewe, a German professor of international law, was one of those who at a very early stage pleaded for a Statute of Occupation (in 1948, he published Ein Besatzungsstatut für Deutschland) in order to create a legal framework for the relations between the Allies and Germany. In 1951 Konrad Adenauer appointed him Head of delegation for the negotiation of the General Treaty on Germany (“Deutschlandvertrag”). With his legal expertise and his political pragmatism Wilhelm Grewe tried to fulfill the Chancellor’s objectives. The negotiations focused on German sovereignty, supreme authority, the reserved rights of the Allies and a security guarantee for the Federal Republic. This treaty, which was coupled with the EDC, was signed in May 1952.The ratification of both treaties gave rise to stormy debates in the “Bundestag”, concentrating especially on the questions of German reunification and rearmament. Grewe was then entrusted with the legal defence of the treaties vis-à-vis Parliament and the Constitutional Court. He was again called to play an important role when the General Treaty had to be renegotiated after the EDC had failed. In May 1955 a revised “Deutschlandvertrag” entered into force, the Statute of Occupation was abolished and the Federal Republic of Germany became a member of NATO and of the WEU.

This thesis consists of two parts, independent but complementary : on the one hand, an archaeological map of Orange and the northwest of Vaucluse; on the other hand, a study of the origin and the chronology of the imports of ceramics called italian sigillata in Gallia Narbonensis based on the case of Orange. The archaeological map synthesizes the archaeological discoveries touching a period included between 700 BC and 700 AD. All the available information was taken into account (manuscripts, reports, printed sources) to draw up a state of the bibliography and specify our knowledge of the antique vestiges of the northwest of Vaucluse. The corpus so established is the basis of a reflection on the occupation of the zone during the Antiquity, the urban organization of the city of Orange and the limits of its political territory. The historiographical aspect also constitutes an important point of this work. The ceramic study renews our chronological points of reference on the urban development of the city for its first century of existence, with in particular the dating of the surrounding wall, the various monumental constructions of the site of the « hémicycle » and the early contexts of living districts east of the theater. Besides, the ceramic study attempts to identify the origin of the examined italian sigillata, drawing up first a ou synthesis of workshops producing this ceramic. Indeed, if the italian sigillat seems well known, we quickly notice that it was almost always considered a homogeneous whole, without taking into account the existence of multiple workshops, in the constitution of typologies and datings.

Reformní hnutí a normalizace poměrů v Jihlavě (1960- 1971) / The reform movement and the normalization of relations in Jihlava (1960- 1971)Pavlíčková, Tereza January 2012 (has links)
This master thesis, The reform movement and the normalization of relations in Jihlava (1960-1971), maps the course of that period in Jihlava, the capital of the region Vysočina. The first part of this work includes a brief introduction into the atmosphere in Czechoslovakia in 1960s and the historical development in Jihlava in the same period. The second chapter describes the course of events from the beginning of year 1968, colloquially called "The Prague Spring". New politicians ascended to the politic power and established a new theory, which was called "Socialism with a human face". The third part deals with the invasion of the Warsaw Pact army of Czechoslovakia on 21st August 1968. The text focuses mainly on Jihlava. The fifth chapter describes the course of events in Czechoslovakia since the second half of year 1968 to April 1971. This period is called normalization and is characterized by retreating from the post-January policy, personnel changes, restoring censorship, etc. The last part of the thesis concerns itself with Evžen Plocek. He was an active reform politician in Jihlava and committed suicide in April 1969. He burned himself to death due to the consequences of the Warsaw Pact army invasion of The Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in 1968.

Mapping Past and Future Wars in Voice of the People: Experiencing Narrative in the 3D/VR EnvironmentUnknown Date (has links)
We have an opportunity not only to interact with 3D content but also to
immerse ourselves in it via Virtual Reality (VR). This work is deeply inspired by
my experience as a Ukrainian witnessing the recent turmoil in my homeland. I
wanted people around the globe to experience the horrors that are unfolding.
The Voice of the People, explores narrative storytelling through VR. Ultimately,
the viewer will be able to put on a VR headset and become deeply immersed in
the story. With this technology, the user intimately experiences the war and
devastation created by Russian occupation first hand. The end of World War II is
a critical time in my country’s history. Included in the 3D environment are video
segments of those affected by the current Russian occupation; historical themes
underscore the narrative and help the viewer understand the recurring
aggression by Russia that is part of Ukraine’s history. / Includes bibliography. / Thesis (M.F.A.)--Florida Atlantic University, 2017. / FAU Electronic Theses and Dissertations Collection

Previous issue date: 2017-06-30 / The present study seeks to raise issues relating to the housing rights by observing the actions of social movements in particular in the central area of the city of S?o Paulo (district of Rep?blica) considering its impact on the territory and in society. The condition of vulnerability in the residence is present both in central areas as the edges urban peripheral areas, however, the housing programs need to be subdivided according to the location, because many times does not believe that it comes from different contexts with specific needs. Even the social movements who are fighting for the housing rights still experience ways of dealing with the issue of the centrality and the resistance has been the main instrument for guaranteeing rights and encourage discussion with the various actors (society, real estate market, State) that produce the urban space. The research investigates how the housing of low-income population and its dynamics in central areas is understood, managed, accept and even compelled by society, by the real estate market and by the State and which institutional tools the movements have for the maintenance of guaranteed rights. Take as the object of research the occupations of idle buildings in the center of S?o Paulo in particular "Occupation S?o Jo?o" and the role of the ?Front of Fight for Housing? - the FLM (Frente de Luta pela Moradia) - entered the territory of the district of Rep?blica.

Previous issue date: 2005-06-28 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / This study deals with the rural settlements, resultant from the occupation lawsuits, mediated by the Central Única de Trabalhadores - CUT (Workers Unique Centre) and by the Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (Movement of the Landless Rural Workers), in the period of 1985 - 2001. This study was developed in three Settlement Projects: João Batista II (PA), Cupiúba (PA) and Sumaré I (SP). The Settlement Project João Batista II originary from the expropriated area of the Fazenda Tanary (Bacuri)(Tanary Farm), located at the right side of the BR-316/Pará-Maranhão Highway, towards the municipal districts of the state of Pará, Castanhal/Santa Maria, on the KM-04 (Bacuri Branch), with hundred and thirty six (136) settled families, resultant from the MST organization. The Cupiúba Settlement Project, originary from the expropriated area of the Fazenda Cachoeira (Cachoeira Farm), located at the right side of the BR-316/Pará-Maranhão Highway, towards the municipal districts of the state of Pará, Castanhal/Santa Maria, with two hundred and thirty seven settled families, resultant from the FETAGRI/CUT organization and parties connected to the organic left. The Sumaré I Settlement Project, originary from the Horto Florestal de Boa Vista glebe (Boa Vista Forest Little Garden), located in the municipal district of Sumaré/São Paulo, with twenty seven (27) settled families, organized by MST/CUT. The study defends the thesis that in the organization of campings, pre-settlements and settlements, it has been produced a process of ressocialization (kinds of sociability) configured in the latent, consolidated and latent/consolidated forms. This process of ressocialization is founded on contents - synthesis of historical conflicts produced by the social movements, political parties, churches, syndicates and their central centers, and state technicians, etc. These kinds of sociability are disclosed when we decipher the different social codes, generated in the different processes of interiorization of the set of values, rules, behaviors, languages, etc. in a table of general reference. In order to decipherate the enigma of the origin of the settled ones, we take as basis the process of differentiation/and/or distribution of the present settled ones in the space of social, historical, political and cultural relations, previous to the process of occupation. The understanding of this process starts from the analysis of the trajectories/and/or transitory situations that the individual or social groups develop in the social and temporal spaces. The formation of the settlements is comprehensible by the process of land occupation, situation that is understood as a situation of interlegality.. the settlements constitution is realized with the legal possession of the land, basis of a new socialization, which involves a multiplicity of social situations such as the institutionalization and the legitimation; the interiorization and production of socialization mechanisms; the recreation of new spaces and symbolic times and/or recreation of a new rural world. This process requires an interiorization of social roles, which means the acceptance of a new institutional order, where the social actors (the settled ones) represent them in the society (social stage) according a social apparatus that originates and maintains the symbolic universe. This symbolic universe locates the collective happenings in a coherent and systematized unity which includes the present, the past (memory common to the socialized individuals in the community) and the future (table of common reference for the projection of individual actions). These plausibility structures, materialized and incorporated, can be observed in the political field through the institutions, political parties, syndicates, etc., and the agents and/or social actors who effect its functioning and/or combat them, that is, can be observed in the field of forces and/or in the field of conflicts, that implicate in the subversion of the order in the rural settlements / Este estudo trata dos assentamentos rurais, resultantes de processos de ocupação, mediados pela Central Única dos Trabalhadores CUT e pelo Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra - MST, no período de 1985-2001.
