By focusing on the comedy O Juiz de Paz da roça, by Martins Pena, from the Romantic period of the Literature, we aim to present the relation between representation of the spoken language and the characterization of stock characters. Stock characters represent a society or a social group, which are presented in literary fiction in general. Based on the theoretical framework of Conversation Analysis, Pragmatics and Interactional Sociolinguistics, we start from the hypothesis that, just like actions in a play, spoken language plays a crucial role for the characterization of these characters, which are very common in the comedy of manners, which had Martins Pena as its precursor in Brazil. The construction of social types is possible because of the authors work of representing the spoken language at that specific time along with an environment where several stock characters interact. As well as lexical choices, forms of address and other linguistics elements feature the stock characters, taking into consideration the significance of the words and various relationships between the locutors and interlocutors, such as gender, age, degree of formality, politeness and intimacy in the context of the authors work. Thus, this dissertation presents an analysis of each characters role in the play, by analyzing non-verbal and verbal elements such as lexical forms, forms of address and phonological aspects in order to reveal how the typification and the hierarchy of the characters is constructed in the given play.

Biblioteca, Oralidade E Conhecimento: Uma Contribuição Aos Estudos De Mediaação e Apropriaação Cultural / -Virgínio, Andreina Alves de Sousa 16 March 2018 (has links)
This research deals with intersemiotic relations between orality and other forms of cultural expression, in order to make theoretical and methodological references proper to mediation processes and cultural appropriation, in contemporary librarianship spaces. It discusses concepts of orality, writing; culture; appropriation, cultural mediation and library and it adopts parameters of collaborative research, as a methodological perspective. The work was conducted at \"Casa da Leitura\", a library built on the campus of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Piauí, in the city of Floriano (PI). The problem of research has developed into concrete questions, namely: how orality manifests itself in the space of the library in question, in relation to other forms of cultural communication? What accommodation does the place make feasible for oral exchanges between the subjects involved in the practices performed there? How oral manifestations, such as \"reading groups\", \"story groups\" and \"memory groups\" are stimulated in educational/cultural activities? Children of the Public Education System of Floriano City (PI), from 8 to 9, took part in the activities, programmed by the researcher in collaboration with educators and professionals of the library. The results showed orality as an essential integrating part in the processes of appropriation and cultural mediation involving different parlance. It was perceived as a fundamental manifestation of cultural practices among the group of children, whose difficulties with reading could keep them away from the library, a site marked by a strong tradition linked to writing. In addition to this aspect, orality has facilitated exchanges and experiences for immediate negotiations possibilities, both in relation to the contents of the different information media of the library and in relation to the statements of the subjects involved - researcher, employees and the children themselves. Thus, the \"Casa de Leitura\" was perceived by the participants as a dialogical and cozy space, opened to meaningful experiences that relate to its own orality, writing and other cultural codes. The intersemiotic perspective that guided the works showed itself as a promising path to the processes of mediation and cultural appropriation, allowing cultural participation to the studied group.

Estruturas musicais do samba-enredo / -Souza, Yuri Prado Brandão de 20 April 2018 (has links)
This research intends to demonstrate the main transformations of the music of the samba schools of Rio de Janeiro through the transcription, cataloging and analysis of its most recurrent melodic, harmonic and formal structures. The analyzed structures include those that I considered as characteristics of samba-enredo, which are used by a large number of composers from diverse epochs and stylistic tendencies. From their detailed study, I examine the presence of formularity in the composition process of the sambistas, which may be related both to the oral model of thinking and behavior that still exists in the samba schools and to the fact that samba-enredo is embedded in a capitalist logic that ranges from the cultural industry it takes part in (disc recording, radio and TV broadcasting) to the way of choosing the works that are presented in the carnival.

Narrativas que evocam memórias e subjetividades: o reposicionamento do trabalho com a literatura de origem oral na alfabetização / Narratives which evoke memories and subjectivities: repositioning of the work with the literature of oral origin in literacyNanci, Katia Arilha Fiorentino 25 June 2013 (has links)
This dissertation investigates the possibilities of working with orally-originated narratives within the early stages of elementary school. The centralization of certain pragmatic contents (such as children speech on a normal daily scenario) is pointed out as relevant by the dominant pedagogical conceptions within the government guidelines. Our hypothesis goes in the opposite direction and assumes that a well-planned project involving literary texts, especially the ones from oral societies, will stimulate important discursive effects of memorization as well as potentiate subjectivities involved in writing and reading learning skills. This work demonstrated: (1) you can optimize literacy even in heterogeneous classes by means of the manipulation of a variety of narratives in different supports within an appropriate reading ambience; (2) the importance of the teachers ability to listen while working teachers skills will enable him to intervene in student learning in general and those who have difficulties; (3) based upon a detailed case study, and others more briefly related, we examined the oral ability of certain children and followed their entrance in the alphabetical writing phase, trying to detect the possible emergence of an inter-text subjectivity, capable of tracing pathways towards authorship. By the intersection of several areas of knowledge, such as Psychoanalysis, Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, Literary Criticism, the History of passage from the oral to the writing phase in societies, and elements from methodology and history of Education, we tried to address concepts such as reading and writing in a broader sense (texts in oral formats which already carry essential concepts of reading and graphic writing), subject, memory, literacy, listening (in an analytical sense) and authorship. First we conducted a study with a child who presented learning disabilities during the early stages of reading and writing. After developing a project with narratives, we noticed that the student demonstrated some success in his learning process. From the data collected within the study we were able to determine our hypothesis. On a later phase, we watched a group of students of the first year of elementary school, and observed their development as it relates to the oral ability. With the new collected data we were able to deepen our considerations regarding the oral narratives project. Considering that the Brazilian school system deals with the challenge of a high percentage of students who are not fluent in basic reading and writing in the early years, the 10 goal of this study is to seek answers to the following claim: how does it work the dynamics of a child who initiates the writing phase, considering his/her subjective positioning between the oral performance and the writing, between listening and reading? Therefore, a possible contribution of this dissertation will be the repositioning of the work involving orallyoriginated narratives in relation to the writing in the early stages of elementary school.

[en] In Western Africa, griots are the guardians of memory. In a society based on

conveying knowledge. The following dissertation is an effort to converge the
multiplicity of the world, from other shores, and has as a goal to reflect about the
poetics of griot, its performance, body, voice, memory and words – spoken or sung.
Furthermore, this effort proposes a reflection on the difference of the “other” and of
difference as a possibility of broadening our own understanding, of our organization,

Previous issue date: 2012-04-19 / This work studies the orality marks and the manifestation of metamessages at the carioca tragedy,
A falecida by Nelson Rodrigues, in order to understand if this literary text can give us linguistic
marks able to work as interactional strategies. We aim to understand how a built text, called a
second hand corpus, can apply linguistic clues that are typical of orality, and become a reality
mimesis, without, however, reproduce it. Based on these concerns, we aim to answer: are there
expressive oral marks at the play A falecida by Nelson Rodrigues? For that, we take, as
parameters, the Sociolinguistic theoretical fundaments, the Conversation Analysis and the Speech
Analysis. We assume that exist, in literature, some authors that are concerned about elaborate
texts that aims to reproduce the naturalness of real dialogues. To achieve this spontaneity,
however, these authors believe in a language with real syntactic-speech and morpholexicals
features typical of orality. When we refer to the first features, we are concerned, at the tragedy A
falecida, about the composition and the length of the sentences; the linguistic exchange among
the participants of the interaction; the construction mode of the speech; the lack of time for
planning and replanning the speeches, and other features. When we analyze the morpholexicals
features, we are concerned about finding, at the written play, some marks recurrent in oral texts,
like slangs, diminutive, hyperbolic constructions, phonetic transcriptions, and so on. Guided by
theoretical concepts developed throughout the work, and submitting our conjectures to the
analysis of the excerpts from the play A falecida, selected among so many others texts of the
author, due his constant concern to portrait daily life, with its prose and its oral manifestations,
we find, at the play, a lot of typical oral traces and observed that this kind of mark in a built text,
when used conscious or unconsciously may help in the construction of a lot of implicit messages

Previous issue date: 2014-02-26 / Secretaria do Estado e Educação / This research has as its purpose to emphasize the conversational strategies that the
characters utilize to interact in communicative situations. The purpose of the current work is
for it to be applied to the teaching of the Portuguese Language. Aiming thus for the awareness
that working oral language goes beyond reading out loud. Also have the student understand
the importance of studying the marks of orality present in texts. Contribute to form a
conscience society, less prejudice and knowledgeable of the linguistics variations and know
how to adapt them to its convivial. Therefore, we utilized the tale Malagueta, Perus, and
Bacanaço by João Antônio as corpus. In the tale, the author describes the trickery of the
center of São Paulo tracing a parallel between what is real the fight for survival by a
marginalized class in the end of the 50th decade and the fiction, a vivid adventure lived by
Malagueta, Perus, and Bacanaço, who are passionate about the game of pool. We searched in
the work the marks of oralities and expressions that were used by the author as strategies,
mainly, of interaction. Beyond identifying which mechanisms of comicality in the present
narrative contributed to a greater clarity and enrichment of the work. The author utilizes
humoristic mechanism that contribute on taking the reader to have fun, reflect, and be
offended with the events, sometimes, apparently banal, but with marks of violence implicit in
the text. So theoretically we base research in interactional sociolinguistics with prof. Dino
Preti, in conversation analysis, with Marcuschi and discourse analysis, with Eni Orlandi.
Since this research, one can notice that the conversational strategies, contribute to provide us
with expressive examples of language in the São Paulo sub world / Esta pesquisa tem como intento destacar as estratégias conversacionais que as
No

Previous issue date: 2014-03-27 / Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo / Oral communication reigned absolute since the dawn of civilization until, with the cultures
development, the emergence of writing revolutionized the way knowledge was recorded and
preserved. In the quest to better understand the dichotomy between oral communication and
writing, this paper discusses the linguistic peculiarities present in hinterland spontaneous
language. Thus, it was decided to use as the corpus of the analysis in this thesis the tale Meu tio
o Iauaretê, from the author João Guimarães Rosa (JGR), a natural of Minas Gerais, whose
protagonist Tonho Tigreiro supposed metamorphoses into a jaguar that kills enemies merging
revenge, hatred and regret, making use of an oral blending linguistic phenomena characterized
by neologisms and onomatopoeia. From the review of the production of scholars on the subject
as Preti, Bakhtin, Marcuschi, Ullmann among others, the objective of this study could be
summarized in the following question: Which signs of orality present in the analyzed text
feature the ordinary and everyday speech of the countryman and what are the most frequent
linguistic peculiarities in there? Among the findings, it is observed that JGR celebrates cultural
diversity and combat, by the language used in the text treatment, the possible biases in ordinary
speech so common in the free use of orality and writing in everyday language practice, which
also proposes a review of concepts like right , wrong , appropriate for the use of the
dissertação o conto Meu tio o Iauaretê, do mineiro João Guimarães Rosa (JGR), cujo
cultural e combate, mediante o tratamento linguístico utilizado no texto, possíveis preconceitos

Previous issue date: 2014-08-12 / Nowadays, the spoken and written language are analyzed jointly and not
dichotomously as once they were. Through recent studies, it is possible to infer
that many features of these manifestations of language are shared. The
occurrence of this phenomenon depends on the level of formality required, on
the genre in which the speech is inserted, among other factors.
Based on this perspective, this dissertation investigates how the marks of
orality are presented in a theatrical text, in this case, in the play O Abajur Lilás,
from the playwright Plinio Marcos, and what are the reasons that justify this use.
For this research, we rely on the theory of Conversational Analysis and

Previous issue date: 2016-02-19 / Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior / The actor is the main agency in the theater, as without his theatrical action, the play is incomplete. By adapting a written text to an oral genre, the actor aims to establish a verisimilitude relation between the playwright's forged dialogue and spoken language. This way, the theatrical text, despite from seeming as an everyday speech, it is a literary production, structured and unfinished, inasmuch as it foresees the action and active voice of the actor for its attainment. Therefore, considering the perspective of converting written texts to oral genre, the present research will be based in the intersection between socio interactionist studies on Oral Literary, Conversation Analysis, Sociolinguistics, Psycholinguistics and the practical and theoretical work strands with the text on Theatrical Arts, so that it will evidence the linguistic, semantic, syntactic and prosodic mechanisms used by the actor when converting written genre to oral genre. To the present remark, the analyzed corpus will the class on Verbal Expression from the Drama Art School, institution founded by Alfredo Mesquita in 1948, which since this date contributes to graduating actors that are part of a Modern National Theater scenario / O ator é o principal agente do teatro, sem sua ação cênica, a obra teatral fica incompleta.
