de Carvalho Lundin, Johanna, Gartz, Nicole January 2018 (has links)
The #Metoo debate also included other hashtags with the willingness to participate in the debate on gender equality. Including the hashtag #Ihave that symbolized the male perspective and came in response to #Metoo. The purpose of this graduation project is to find out how the debate is conducted based on rhetorical and feminist theories, by finding ideals in different positions about the hashtag #Ihave. The material was collected on February 21, 2018 on Facebook and based on posts we received from our private Facebook accounts where we searched for #Ihave in the search field. To this qualitative work, a hidden observation has also been used to obtain the material that was analyzed. In order to investigate the ideals, we used the different feminist types of liberal and radical feminism where we rhetorically linked the posts to. Based on the found ideals, we have thus come up with a finding that there are differences in how men and women participate in the debate on gender equality and in what ways.

A voz e a vez de Eva: a nova heroína contemporânea em obras de José Saramago / The voice and the time of Eva: the new contemporary heroine in romance novels of José Saramago

Ivi Barile 26 March 2008 (has links)
Beginning with a short research of the woman history as a way to trace her trajectory along the time for her emancipation, and with the analysis of the different feminine identities, the study reveals a new concept of the woman in Portuguese literature. The writer proposes in his work a reflection of the world situation through the individuals and their attitudes, responsibilities and desires. The lessons of his novels to the readers, most of the time have start from feminine figures. The woman completes herself playing a mothers role, protector and partner, and at the same time lover and warrior. Considered at the present work as an actual heroine, she takes the mission of the two distinct activities that the society insisted in making them apart, taking care of home and family while she works to provide their needs. In this work the woman also has the power of sensibility and compassion to help those in needs even when she barely knows them. She is also the one who can, with charm, become herself from girl to woman, fitting in as saint and prostitute, externally pure and seducer in her essence. However, Saramagos writings are not only about the matrixs patriarchal inhibition, ignoring the mans role. There is the rescue of matriarchal primitive cultures, with woman and man governing in equality and peacefully. For this reason, the man is also very important in his novels, since together with the woman, motivated and guided by her, they go trough love for an existential cross over for the search of knowledge

In Brazil, the oppressions suffered and the intense workloads in the production for the self-consumption are some of the daily features of the peasant women. Thus, it is intended to verify a perspective of the reality of rural women, especially if their right to produce has been respected socially and institutionally and how this right relates to the principle of gender equality in peasant space. The development follows bibliographical analysis, with a descriptive and supposedly critical approach. It is based on the hypothesis that peasant women are in subaltern socioeconomic position and experience conditions of inequality, when compared to men. In the first part of the text, it is considered especially on the rural land and aspects pertinent to the agrarian and social reality of the peasant women. Some tensions surrounding the peasantry and agribusiness debate are highlighted and explain that this analysis considers women of low social class, linked to a family-based model of agriculture. The debate about some meanings of the word gender appears in the second part of the text. Power relations are thrown open in patriarchal practices, which reflect male domination and demand certain patterns of social behavior from the rural women. In the third part of this dissertation are related legal discourses of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and perspectives on Brazilian agrarian law related to peasant women. It concludes with an analysis of the productive organizations of peasant women as a form of exercise of the agrarian right to produce.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertacao GLAUCEJANE.pdf: 3619115 bytes, checksum: 776cd427cb78e1a1addb21df65f3b6fe (MD5) Previous issue date: 2012-06-15 / This work analyzes the domestic and intrafamilial violence, physical and psychological violence, against pregnant women in the Itaqui Bacanga's Health Unit, linked to the Municipal Health Department of São Luis - MA, from January 2011 to January 2012, identifying their perceptions, the impact and building coping strategies constructed by these women. Initially, it talks about the concept this the violence, building on the category of gender violence, considering the socio-historical interpretations of gender relations, especially of the women and patriarchy. We understand domestic and intrafamilial violence against women as human rights violations, and a public health problem, which requires implementation of public policies in several areas, with a focus on gender transversality. Our study is qualitative, whose technique for data collection is based on recording semi-structured interviews conducted with ten women. The results allowed to grasp the conceptions of the pregnant women on the physical and psychological violence, domestic and intrafmiliar violence during pregnancy and what impact this violence has on their daily lives. Through the analysis of statements, it was found that pregnant women understand violence as a common problem in society and violence against women, a phenomenon that mainly occurs within the home, independent of sociodemographic characteristics of the subjects, being the aggressor intimate partner more frequent. The pregnant women consider violence as a serious physical assault, but did not detect the occurrence of psychological violence as a sufficient reason to condemn the aggressor, which reinforces that we must move the discussion on this issue. The women related to motherhood as a process natural / biological given to the woman, who the responsability is her for creation / procreation of children, point which helps to strengthen the stereotypical gender roles. The survey results revealed the difficulties that the pregnant women have to break with the domestic and intrafamilial violence and denounce it, while acknowledging the existence of areas of protection such as the Special Police for Women and the Law Maria da Penha. About coping strategies, the women have created self-defense mechanisms in order to protect themselves from violence, tolerance and coping are the features present. The research revealed that it is necessary to advance the development and implementation of public policies for women, including pregnant women, with a view to addressing violence against women and strengthening of human rights of the female segment.

Light used as metaphor in the prologue of the Fourth Gospel: the influence of this metaphor on the Maronite 'Prayer of the Faithful'

Albalaa, Pierre 30 November 2007 (has links)
In this dissertation, the affinities between the Prologue of the Fourth Gospel and the Maronite Prayer of the Faithful especially the use of light metaphor are examined and new hypothetic proposals are suggested: the former has influenced the latter; both of them might have shared the same milieu or have been influenced by an existent Antiochene liturgical hymn. These proposals are discussed according to reflections on the Fourth Gospel, the Antiochene Syriac Maronite Church, the light metaphor, the work done on the Prologue from a socio-rhetorical perspective and the study conducted on the first English edition of the Maronite Prayer of the Faithful. / New Testament / M.Th. De tysta åren : Ekofeminism i svensk tryckt press 1995-2016 / The silent years : Ecofeminism in Swedish printed press 1995-2016

Elander, Angelina January 2017 (has links)
The silent years: ecofeminism in Swedish printed press 1995-2016 Ecofeminism figures in both political and philosophical contexts and is an ideology that combines feminism with environmental policy. It builds its ideology to counteract a patriarchal oppression against both women and nature, saying that this oppression stems from a historical perception of the woman standing closer to nature. The self-elevation of the white man to God during the industrialism era used this historical image in the justification to exercise power towards both women and nature, which is said to be ongoing to the greatest extent today. By considering how Swedish printed press depict ecofeminism between the years 1995-2016, this paper has been designed to determine if this relationship of power remains and define how it is expressed. The essay also investigates whether a discourse on ecofeminism is mediated in Swedish press. Central Issues: How is ecofeminism produced in Swedish printed press between 1995 and 2016? What power structures appear around ecofeminism and who get their voices heard? Why was nothing written about ecofeminism for 5 of the 11 investigated years? Methods: To find this out, this essay has used triangulation as an overarching method containing quantitative analysis, content analysis and analysis of visual communication. Conclusions: This essay indicate that the repression remains and becomes evident in the relationship between Swedish press and ecofeminism. Ecofeminism is expressed as difficult for the public and is often confused with specificity feminism in what appears to be a strategic goal of repression by means of disinformation. / <p>Betygssättande lärare: Per Vesterlund. The Schisms of Photios (867) and Keroularios (1054) : a historical comparative study

Kourtoglou, Olga 06 June 2012 (has links)
M.A. / 144 This dissertation is essential because it has indicated the reasons, which have caused the religious juxtaposition, then antagonism, between Constantinople and Rome from the patriarchate of Photios (867) to the days of Michael Keroularios (1054), as well as the consequences that have emanated from it, both at political and social level. It is a historical comparative study, which avoids the narrow limits of theological “misunderstandings” and the various dogmatic interpretations. It is placed within a social, political and cultural framework that has resulted from the particular cultural conditions as these have been formed in both parts of the Roman Empire. This particular study has followed the historical comparative method for the analysis of the religious juxtaposition between Constantinople and Rome. The sources were studied in their original Medieval Greek language according to the historical-critical and philological methodology. The study is completed by the comparison of two Schisms of the year 867 between patriarch Photios and Pope Nicholas I, and of the year 1054 between patriarch Michael Keroularios and Cardinal Umberto, and their consequences, especially from a Byzantine point of view.

Gender v povinné literatuře - Staré řecké báje a pověsti: genderová analýza díla / Gender in compulsory reading - Old greek myths and legends: gender analysis of the writing

Zochová, Iveta January 2015 (has links)
This thesis Gender in compulsory reading - Old Greek Myths and Legends: Gender analysis of the writing deals with literary representation of gender issues in mentioned writing, written by Eduard Petiška. The very analysis is based on analysing of gender topics and issues we are interested in and focused on. These topics are compared and showed using examples from particular myths and legend. The question whether these topics are influenced by patriarchal order in the society is the crucial for this thesis. Despite the variability of Petiška's writing, which is necessarily caused by variations of ancient and continuously construated stories; some patterns and systems are there to be found and explored by contemporary gender theories, mostly by feministic literature criticism. In this thesis the method of resisting reading according to Judith Fetterley is used. The deconstruction of the text and its hidden values which are based on male domination and the reconstruction of it in order to show the new perspective at the same moment are the main goals of resisting reading. The characters from the legends are used in context of archetypal criticism method. Considering the literature-critical perspective, the method of close reading is chosen. The question of relations and using of power, considering...
